나머지 땅의 분배
18 그 땅을 정복한 후에 모든 이스라엘 백성은 실로에 모여 성막을 세웠다.
2 그러나 이스라엘 백성 가운데는 아직도 땅을 분배받지 못한 일곱 지파가 있었으므로
3 여호수아는 그들에게 이렇게 말하였다. “여러분은 여러분 조상의 하나님 여호와께서 여러분에게 주신 땅을 점령하러 가지 않고 언제까지나 여기서 기다리고 있을 작정입니까?
4 여러분은 각 지파에서 세 사람씩 선정하십시오. 내가 그들을 보내 아직 점령하지 않은 땅을 정찰하게 하고 자기 지파가 분배받을 땅의 지형을 그려 와서 나에게 보고하도록 하겠습니다.
5 여러분은 그 땅을 일곱 부분으로 나누십시오. 그리고 유다 지파는 남쪽의 자기 땅에 그대로 있고, 요셉 자손도 북쪽의 자기 땅에 그대로 머물러 있어야 합니다.
6 여러분은 일곱 부분으로 나눈 그 땅의 지형을 그려서 나에게 가져오십시오. 그러면 내가 여러분을 위해 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑겠습니다.
7 그러나 레위 사람은 분배받을 땅이 없습니다. 이것은 그들이 여호와의 제사장직을 맡았기 때문입니다. 그리고 갓 지파와 르우벤 지파와 므낫세 동쪽 반 지파도 더 이상 분배받을 땅이 없습니다. 그들은 이미 요단강 동쪽에서 여호와의 종 모세에게 땅을 분배받았기 때문입니다.”
8 각 지파에서 선정된 사람들이 그 땅의 지형을 그리려고 떠날 때 여호수아가 그들에게 말하였다. “여러분은 가서 그 땅을 두루 다니며 지형을 그려 오십시오. 그러면 내가 이 곳 실로에서 여러분을 위해 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑겠습니다.”
9 그래서 그들은 지시받은 대로 가서 그 땅의 전 지역을 일곱 부분으로 나누어 그리고 거기에 그 성들의 이름을 하나하나 기록해서 실로에 있는 여호수아에게 돌아왔다.
10 그러자 여호수아는 그들을 위해 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑아 땅을 분배받지 못한 이스라엘의 나머지 지파들에게 그 땅을 나누어 주었다.
베냐민 지파
11 먼저 베냐민 지파를 위해 제비를 뽑았다. 그들에게 뽑힌 땅은 유다 지파와 요셉 지파가 이미 분배받은 땅의 중간이었다.
12 그 땅의 북쪽 경계선은 요단강에서 시작하여 여리고 북쪽으로 올라가서 서쪽 산간 지대를 지나 벧 – 아웬 광야에 이르고
13 루스 곧 벧엘 남쪽으로 나아가서 아래 벧 – 호론의 남쪽 산간 지대에 있는 아다롯 – 앗달로 내려갔다.
14 서쪽 경계선은 벧 – 호론 맞은편 산에서 서쪽으로 돌아서 남쪽으로 내려가 유다 지파의 성인 기럇 – 여아림 곧 기럇 – 바알에서 끝났다.
15 남쪽 경계선은 서쪽의 기럇 – 여아림 끝에서 시작하여 에브론산을 거쳐 넵도아 샘에 이르고
16 거기서 르바임 골짜기 북쪽 끝에 있는 힌놈 골짜기를 굽어 보는 산기슭으로 내려가고 또 계속 힌놈 골짜기로 내려가서 여부스 사람이 살던 옛 예루살렘성 남쪽을 지나 엔 – 로겔로 내려갔다.
17 또 그 경계선은 북동쪽으로 나아가 엔 – 세메스에 이르고 아둠밈 비탈 맞은편의 그릴롯으로 올라간 다음 르우벤의 아들인 보한의 돌까지 가서
18 [a]요단 계곡을 굽어보는 능선 북쪽을 지나 아라바로 내려가고
19 다시 벧 – 호글라 능선 북쪽을 지나 요단 강물이 흘러들어가는 사해 북쪽 어귀에서 끝났다.
20 그리고 동쪽 경계는 요단강이었다. 이상은 베냐민 지파가 집안별로 분배받은 땅의 경계선이다.
21 베냐민 지파가 차지한 성은 다음과 같다: 여리고, 벧 – 호글라, 에멕 – 그시스,
22 벧 – 아라바, 스마라임, 벧엘,
23 아윔, 바라, 오브라,
24 그발 – 암모니, 오브니, 게바 – 이상의 12개 성과 그 주변 부락들;
25 기브온, 라마, 브에롯,
26 미스바, 그비라, 모사,
27 레겜, 이르브엘, 다랄라,

18 And all the children of Israel assembled together in Silo, and there they set up the tabernacle of the testimony, and the land was subdued before them.
2 But there remained seven tribes of the children of Israel, which as yet had not received their possessions.
3 And Josue said to them: How long are you indolent and slack, and go not in to possess the land which the Lord the God of your fathers hath given you?
4 Choose of every tribe three men, that I may send them, and they may go and compass the land, and mark it out according to the number of each multitude: and bring back to me what they have marked out.
5 Divide to yourselves the land into seven parts: let Juda be in his bounds on the south side, and the house of Joseph on the north.
6 The land in the midst between these mark ye out into seven parts; and you shall come hither to me, that I may cast lots for you before the Lord your God.
7 For the Levites have no part among you, but the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance. And Gad and Ruben, and the half tribe of Manasses have already received their possessions beyond the Jordan eastward: which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.
8 And when the men were risen up, to go to mark out the land, Josue commanded them, saying: Go round the land and mark it out, and return to me: that I may cast lots for you before the Lord in Silo.
9 So they went: and surveying it divided it into seven parts, writing them down in a book. And they returned to Josue, to the camp in Silo.
10 And he cast lots before the Lord in Silo, and divided the land to the children of Israel into seven parts.
11 And first came up the lot of the children of Benjamin by their families, to possess the land between the children of Juda, and the children of Joseph.
12 And their border northward was from the Jordan: going along by the side of Jericho on the north side, and thence going up westward to the mountains, and reaching to the wilderness of Bethaven,
13 And passing along southward by Luza, the same is Bethel: and it goeth down into Ataroth-addar to the mountain, that is on the south of the nether Beth-horon.
14 And it bendeth thence going round towards the sea, south of the mountain that looketh towards Beth-horon to the southwest: and the outgoings thereof are into Cariathbaal, which is called also Cariathiarim, a city of the children of Juda. This is their coast towards the sea, westward.
15 But on the south side the border goeth out from part of Cariathiarim towards the sea, and cometh to the fountain of the waters of Nephtoa.
16 And it goeth down to that part of the mountain that looketh on the valley of the children of Ennom: and is over against the north quarter in the furthermost part of the valley of Raphaim, and it goeth down into Geennom (that is the valley of Ennom) by the side of the Jebusite to the south: and cometh to the fountain of Rogel,
17 Passing thence to the north, and going out to Ensemes, that is to say, the fountain of the sue:
18 And it passeth along to the hills that are over against the ascent of Adommim: and it goeth down to Abenboen, that is, the stone of Been the son of Ruben: and it passeth on the north side to the champaign countries; and goeth down into the plain,
19 And it passeth by Bethhagla northward: and the outgoings thereof are towards the north of the most salt sea at the south end of the Jordan:
20 Which is the border of it on the east side. This is the possession of the children of Benjamin by their borders round about, and their families.
21 And their cities were, Jericho and Bethhagla and Vale-Casis,
22 Betharaba and Samaraim and Bethel,
23 And Avim and Aphara and Ophera,
24 The town Emona and Ophni and Gabee: twelve cities, and their villages.
25 Gabam and Rama and Beroth,
26 And Mesphe, and Caphara, and Amosa,
27 And Recem, Jarephel and Tharela,
28 And Sela, Eleph and Jebus, which is Jerusalem, Gabaath and Cariath: fourteen cities, and their villages. This is the possession of the children of Benjamin by their families.

The Territories of the Remaining Tribes
18 Then the whole congregation of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.(A)
2 There remained among the Israelites seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned. 3 So Joshua said to the Israelites, “How long will you be slack about going in and taking possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you?(B) 4 Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them out that they may begin to go throughout the land, writing a description of it with a view to their inheritances. Then come back to me. 5 They shall divide it into seven portions, Judah continuing in its territory on the south and the house of Joseph in their territory on the north.(C) 6 You shall write a description of the land in seven divisions and bring the description here to me, and I will cast lots for you here before the Lord our God. 7 The Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of the Lord is their heritage, and Gad and Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan eastward, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.”(D)
8 So the men started on their way, and Joshua charged those who went to write the description of the land, saying, “Go throughout the land and write a description of it and come back to me, and I will cast lots for you here before the Lord in Shiloh.”(E) 9 So the men went and traversed the land and set down in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions; then they came back to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh, 10 and Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord, and there Joshua apportioned the land to the Israelites, to each a portion.(F)
The Territory of Benjamin
11 The lot of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families came up, and the territory allotted to it fell between the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Joseph. 12 On the north side their boundary began at the Jordan; then the boundary goes up to the slope of Jericho on the north, then up through the hill country westward; and it ends at the wilderness of Beth-aven. 13 From there the boundary passes along southward in the direction of Luz, to the slope of Luz (that is, Bethel), then the boundary goes down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountain that lies south of Lower Beth-horon.(G) 14 Then the boundary goes in another direction, turning on the western side southward from the mountain that lies to the south, opposite Beth-horon, and it ends at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a town belonging to the tribe of Judah. This forms the western side.(H) 15 The southern side begins at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim on the west,[a] and the boundary comes out at the spring of the Waters of Nephtoah;(I) 16 then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the valley of Rephaim; and it then goes down the valley of Hinnom, south of the slope of the Jebusites, and downward to En-rogel;(J) 17 then it bends in a northerly direction going on to En-shemesh, and from there goes to Geliloth, which is opposite the ascent of Adummim; then it goes down to the Stone of Bohan, Reuben’s son; 18 and passing on to the north of the slope of Beth-arabah[b] it goes down to the Arabah; 19 then the boundary passes on to the north of the slope of Beth-hoglah; and the boundary ends at the northern bay of the Dead Sea,[c] at the south end of the Jordan: this is the southern border. 20 The Jordan forms its boundary on the eastern side. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin, according to its families, boundary by boundary all around.(K)
21 Now the towns of the tribe of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz, 22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, 23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah, 24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve towns with their villages; 25 Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth, 26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah, 27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah, 28 Zela, Haeleph, Jebus[d] (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah,[e] and Kiriath-jearim[f]—fourteen towns with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families.(L)
