8 각 지파에서 선정된 사람들이 그 땅의 지형을 그리려고 떠날 때 여호수아가 그들에게 말하였다. “여러분은 가서 그 땅을 두루 다니며 지형을 그려 오십시오. 그러면 내가 이 곳 실로에서 여러분을 위해 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑겠습니다.”
9 그래서 그들은 지시받은 대로 가서 그 땅의 전 지역을 일곱 부분으로 나누어 그리고 거기에 그 성들의 이름을 하나하나 기록해서 실로에 있는 여호수아에게 돌아왔다.
10 그러자 여호수아는 그들을 위해 여호와 앞에서 제비를 뽑아 땅을 분배받지 못한 이스라엘의 나머지 지파들에게 그 땅을 나누어 주었다.

8 As the men started on their way to map out the land, Joshua instructed them, “Go and make a survey of the land and write a description of it.(A) Then return to me, and I will cast lots for you here at Shiloh(B) in the presence of the Lord.” 9 So the men left and went through the land. They wrote its description on a scroll, town by town, in seven parts, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh. 10 Joshua then cast lots(C) for them in Shiloh in the presence(D) of the Lord, and there he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their tribal divisions.(E)

8 So the men started on their way, and Joshua charged those who went to write the description of the land, saying, “Go throughout the land and write a description of it and come back to me, and I will cast lots for you here before the Lord in Shiloh.”(A) 9 So the men went and traversed the land and set down in a book a description of it by towns in seven divisions; then they came back to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh, 10 and Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord, and there Joshua apportioned the land to the Israelites, to each a portion.(B)
