6 1-2 여호와께서는 이스라엘 산들을 향하여 이렇게 예언하라고 나에게 말씀하셨다.
3 “이스라엘 산들아, 주 여호와의 말씀을 들어라. 주 여호와께서 높고 낮은 산들과 강 유역과 골짜기에 대하여 이런 말씀을 하셨다. ‘내가 칼을 너희에게 보내 너희 산당을 없애 버리겠다.
4 너희 제단은 무너지고 너희 [a]분향단은 파괴될 것이며 모든 백성이 너희 우상 앞에서 죽음을 당할 것이다.
5 내가 이스라엘 백성의 시체를 그 우상 앞에 두고 그 뼈를 너희 제단 사방에 흩어 버릴 것이다.
6 너희가 사는 곳마다 성들이 황폐해지고 산당이 무너지며 너희 제단과 우상들이 박살나고 너희 분향단이 깨어지고 너희가 만든 모든 것이 없어질 것이다.
7 너희 백성들이 곳곳에서 죽음을 당할 것이니 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알게 될 것이다.
8 “ ‘그러나 나는 너희 중 일부가 칼날을 피해 세계 각처로 흩어지게 하겠다.
9 너희 중에 칼날을 피한 자들이 포로로 사로잡혀간 나라에서 나를 기억할 것이며 자기들이 음란한 마음으로 나를 떠나고 나보다 우상을 더 좋아하고 섬겼기 때문에 내가 그들을 벌하고 부끄럽게 한 것을 알고 한탄하며 자기들이 행한 악과 더러운 일에 대해서 자신들을 증오할 것이다.
10 그제서야 그들은 내가 여호와인 것과 내가 이런 재앙을 그들에게 내리겠다고 경고한 말이 헛된 것이 아님을 알게 될 것이다.’ ”
11 주 여호와께서 또 말씀하셨다. “너는 손뼉을 치고 발을 구르며 이스라엘 백성이 더럽고 추한 악을 행하였으므로 전쟁과 기근과 질병으로 망할 것이라고 말하라.
12 먼 데 있는 자들은 질병으로 죽고 가까이 있는 자들은 전쟁에 죽고 살아 남은 자들은 굶어서 죽을 것이다. 이와 같이 내가 분노를 그들에게 쏟아 버리겠다.
13 죽음을 당한 자들의 시체가 우상들 사이와 제단 사방과 모든 산꼭대기와 높은 고개와 모든 푸른 나무 아래와 상수리나무 아래와 그들이 우상에게 제사지내던 모든 곳에 흩어질 것이며 그제서야 모든 사람이 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.
14 내가 손을 들어 그들을 치고 남쪽 광야에서부터 북쪽 [b]리블라까지 그들의 땅을 모조리 황폐하게 할 것이니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.”

6 The word of Adonai came to me: 2 “Human being, face toward the mountains of Isra’el, and prophesy against them: 3 ‘Mountains of Isra’el, hear the word of Adonai Elohim: here is what Adonai Elohim says about the mountains, hills, ravines and valleys: “I myself will bring a sword against you and destroy your high places. 4 Your altars will be wrecked and your pillars for sun-worship broken, and I will throw down your slain ones in front of your idols. 5 I will lay the corpses of the people of Isra’el in front of their idols and scatter your bones all around your altars. 6 Everywhere you live, the cities will be destroyed and the high places wrecked; so that your altars can be destroyed and wrecked, your idols broken and abolished, your pillars for sun-worship cut down and the things you have made wiped out. 7 The slain will fall among you; then you will know that I am Adonai.
8 “‘“Nevertheless, I will leave a remnant, some who will escape the sword among the nations, when you have been scattered throughout the countries. 9 Those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they have been exiled. How broken I have been over their whoring hearts that left me, and over their eyes that went whoring after their idols! They are going to loathe themselves for all the evils they committed in their disgusting practices. 10 Then they will know that I am Adonai; it isn’t for nothing that I said I would bring this calamity upon them.”’
11 “Here is what Adonai Elohim says: ‘Strike with your hand, and stamp with your foot, and bemoan all the terrible disgusting practices of the house of Isra’el. For they will fall by sword, famine and plague. 12 Those far away will die from the plague, those nearby will fall by the sword, and whoever stays and is besieged will die from famine. This is how I will spend my fury on them. 13 You will know that I am Adonai when their slain men are lying among their idols around their altars on every high hill, on every mountaintop, under every green tree, under every thick pistachio tree, wherever they offered sweet-smelling sacrifices to appease their idols. 14 I will stretch out my hand over them and make the land wherever they live into a desolate waste worse than the Divlah Desert. Then they will know that I am Adonai.’”

Judgment on Idolatrous Israel
6 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 2 “Son of man, (A)set your face toward the (B)mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them, 3 and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God to the mountains, to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys: “Indeed I, even I, will bring a sword against you, and (C)I will destroy your [a]high places. 4 Then your altars shall be desolate, your incense altars shall be broken, and (D)I will cast down your slain men before your idols. 5 And I will lay the corpses of the children of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones all around your altars. 6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the [b]high places shall be desolate, so that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, your idols may be broken and made to cease, your incense altars may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. 7 The slain shall fall in your midst, and (E)you shall know that I am the Lord.
8 (F)“Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are (G)scattered through the countries. 9 Then those of you who escape will (H)remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because (I)I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and (J)by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; (K)they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations. 10 And they shall know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.”
11 ‘Thus says the Lord God: (L)“Pound[c] your fists and stamp your feet, and say, ‘Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! (M)For they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. 12 He who is far off shall die by the pestilence, he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged shall die by the famine. (N)Thus will I spend My fury upon them. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when their slain are among their idols all around their altars, (O)on every high hill, (P)on all the mountaintops, (Q)under every green tree, and under every thick oak, wherever they offered sweet incense to all their idols. 14 So I will (R)stretch out My hand against them and make the land desolate, yes, more desolate than the wilderness toward (S)Diblah, in all their dwelling places. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.’ ” ’ ”

2 Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
3 And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
5 And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6 In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
7 And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

9 And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.
10 And they shall know that I am the Lord, and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11 Thus saith the Lord God; Smite with thine hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.
12 He that is far off shall die of the pestilence; and he that is near shall fall by the sword; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
13 Then shall ye know that I am the Lord, when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols.
14 So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
