우상 숭배를 용납하지 않으시는 하나님
14 이스라엘의 장로 몇 사람이 나를 찾아와서 내 앞에 앉았다.
2 그때 여호와께서 나에게 말씀하셨다.
3 “사람의 아들아, 이들이 그 마음에 우상을 섬기고 죄악의 장애물을 그 앞에 두었는데 이들이 묻는 것을 내가 용납해야 되겠느냐?
4 그러므로 너는 이들에게 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. ‘이스라엘 백성 가운데 누구든지 그 마음에 우상을 섬기며 죄악의 장애물을 자기 앞에 두고 예언자에게 찾아가는 자에게는 [a]그 우상을 섬긴 정도에 따라 내가 응답하겠다.
5 내가 이렇게 하는 것은 우상 때문에 나를 배반한 이스라엘 백성의 마음을 되돌려 놓기 위해서이다.’
6 “그러므로 너는 이스라엘 백성에게 나 주 여호와가 이렇게 말한다고 일러 주어라. ‘너희는 뉘우치고 우상을 떠나며 너희 모든 더러운 행실을 버려라.
7 이스라엘 백성과 이스라엘에 살고 있는 외국 사람 가운데 누구든지 나를 떠나 그 마음 가운데 우상을 섬기고 죄악의 장애물을 자기 앞에 그대로 둔 채 나에게 묻고자 예언자에게 찾아가는 자에게는 나 여호와가 직접 대답해 주겠다.
8 그러나 내가 그 사람을 대적하여 그를 본보기로 처벌하고 웃음거리가 되게 하여 그를 내 백성 가운데서 제거해 버리겠다. 그러면 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알 것이다.
9 만일 예언자가 설득에 못 이겨 예언을 해 준다고 해도 예언자가 설득당하도록 한 것은 나 여호와이다. 내가 손을 들어 그를 쳐서 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데서 그를 제거하겠다.
10 그 예언자와 그에게 묻는 자가 다 같이 자기들의 죄에 대하여 형벌을 받을 것이다.
11 내가 이렇게 하는 것은 이스라엘 백성이 다시는 나를 떠나지 않게 하며 그들의 죄로 자신을 더럽히지 않게 하여 그들은 내 백성이 되고 나는 그들의 하나님이 되기 위해서이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.’ ”
피할 수 없는 심판
12 여호와께서는 다시 나에게 말씀하셨다.
13 “사람의 아들아, 만일 어떤 나라가 나에게 범죄하여 신실치 못하면 내가 손을 들어 식량 공급을 끊어 버리고 기근을 보내 사람과 짐승을 다 같이 죽여 버리겠다.
14 비록 노아, 다니엘, 욥과 같은 사람이 거기 있을지라도 그들은 자기들의 의로 자기들의 생명만 건지게 될 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
15 “만일 내가 사나운 짐승을 보내 그 땅에 쏘다니게 하여 짐승 때문에 사람이 통행하지 못하게 되었을 때
16 비록 이 세 사람이 거기에 있을지라도 내가 분명히 말하지만 그들은 자기들의 자녀들도 구출하지 못할 것이며 그들은 자신들만 구원을 받고 그 땅은 황폐해질 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
17 “또 내가 그 땅에 전쟁을 일으켜 칼로 사람과 짐승을 죽일 때
18 비록 이 세 사람이 거기 있을지라도 내가 분명히 말하지만 그들은 자기들의 자녀들도 구출하지 못하고 자기들만 구원을 받을 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.
19 “내가 그 땅에 무서운 질병을 보내고 내 분노를 그 위에 쏟아 사람과 짐승을 죽일 때
20 비록 노아와 다니엘과 욥이 거기 있을지라도 내가 분명히 말하지만 그들은 자기 자녀들도 구출하지 못하고 자기들의 의로 자기들만 구원을 받을 것이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.”
21 주 여호와께서 다시 말씀하셨다. “내가 나의 네 가지 무서운 심판, 곧 전쟁과 기근과 사나운 짐승과 질병을 예루살렘에 보내 사람과 짐승을 다 죽일 때 그 피해가 대단할 것이다.
22 그러나 그 가운데 일부 살아 남은 자들이 거기서 끌려나올 것이다. 그들이 너희에게 오는 것을 보면 내가 예루살렘에 내린 그 모든 재앙에 대하여 너희가 위로를 받을 것이다.
23 너희가 그들의 행동을 보고 위로를 받게 될 것은 내가 이유 없이 이 모든 일을 행하지 않았다는 사실을 너희가 알게 될 것이기 때문이다. 이것은 나 주 여호와의 말이다.”

14 那时，几位以色列的长老到我这里来，坐在我面前。 2 耶和华对我说： 3 “人子啊，这些人在心里立起偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，我岂能让他们来求问？ 4 你告诉他们，主耶和华这样说，‘任何以色列人若在心里立起偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，又来求问先知，我耶和华必按他心中假神的数目亲自用惩罚回答他， 5 好夺回以色列人的心，他们因为拜偶像而远离我。’
6 “因此，你要告诉以色列人，主耶和华这样说，‘你们要悔改，离弃你们的偶像，离弃那些可憎之事。 7 因为以色列人或是在以色列定居的外族人若背弃我，在心中树立偶像，把导致犯罪的绊脚石放在自己面前，又来向先知求问我的旨意，我耶和华必亲自用惩罚回答他。 8 我必严惩他，使他成为众人的鉴戒和笑柄。我必将他从我的子民中铲除。这样，你们就知道我是耶和华。 9 如果先知受迷惑说预言，那是我耶和华任他胡作非为，我必伸手惩治他，把他从我的以色列百姓中除灭。 10 他们必担当自己的罪过——假先知与求问的人要担当同样的罪过。 11 这样，以色列人便不再偏离我，不再犯罪玷污自己。他们要做我的子民，我要做他们的上帝。这是主耶和华说的。’”
12 耶和华对我说： 13 “人子啊，若有国家犯罪背叛我，我必伸手断绝他们的粮源，使饥荒遍地，毁灭人和牲畜。 14 即使挪亚、但以理和约伯三人在那里，他们也只能因义行而自己得救。这是主耶和华说的。 15 倘若我使猛兽在那里横行、肆虐，以致那里荒凉、人踪绝迹， 16 纵然这三个义人在那里，我凭我的永恒起誓，他们也不能救自己的儿女，只能自己得救，那里却要荒凉。这是主耶和华说的。 17 倘若我使刀剑临到那里，毁灭人和牲畜， 18 纵然这三个义人在那里，我凭我的永恒起誓，他们也不能救自己的儿女，只能自己得救。这是主耶和华说的。 19 倘若我叫瘟疫在那里肆虐，发烈怒毁灭那里的人和牲畜， 20 纵然挪亚、但以理和约伯在那里，我凭我的永恒起誓，他们也不能救自己的儿女，只能因义行而自己得救。这是主耶和华说的。
21 “主耶和华说，‘我要把战祸、饥荒、猛兽和瘟疫这四大刑罚降在耶路撒冷，毁灭人和牲畜。 22 然而，其中仍有幸免的人带着儿女逃出来。他们会逃到你们这里，你们看见他们的所作所为，便会对我在耶路撒冷所降的一切灾难感到欣慰。 23 你们看见他们的所作所为，就知道我不是无缘无故地惩罚耶路撒冷。’这是主耶和华说的。”

Idolaters Condemned
14 Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.(A) 2 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 3 “Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts(B) and put wicked stumbling blocks(C) before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?(D) 4 Therefore speak to them and tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. 5 I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted(E) me for their idols.’(F)
6 “Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent!(G) Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!(H)
7 “‘When any of the Israelites or any foreigner(I) residing in Israel separate themselves from me and set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block(J) before their faces and then go to a prophet to inquire(K) of me, I the Lord will answer them myself. 8 I will set my face against(L) them and make them an example(M) and a byword.(N) I will remove them from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.(O)
9 “‘And if the prophet(P) is enticed(Q) to utter a prophecy, I the Lord have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.(R) 10 They will bear their guilt—the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him. 11 Then the people of Israel will no longer stray(S) from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people,(T) and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign Lord.(U)’”
Jerusalem’s Judgment Inescapable
12 The word of the Lord came to me: 13 “Son of man, if a country sins(V) against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply(W) and send famine upon it and kill its people and their animals,(X) 14 even if these three men—Noah,(Y) Daniel[a](Z) and Job(AA)—were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness,(AB) declares the Sovereign Lord.
15 “Or if I send wild beasts(AC) through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,(AD) 16 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.(AE)
17 “Or if I bring a sword(AF) against that country and say, ‘Let the sword pass throughout the land,’ and I kill its people and their animals,(AG) 18 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.
19 “Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath(AH) on it through bloodshed,(AI) killing its people and their animals,(AJ) 20 as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.(AK)
21 “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments(AL)—sword(AM) and famine(AN) and wild beasts and plague(AO)—to kill its men and their animals!(AP) 22 Yet there will be some survivors(AQ)—sons and daughters who will be brought out of it.(AR) They will come to you, and when you see their conduct(AS) and their actions, you will be consoled(AT) regarding the disaster I have brought on Jerusalem—every disaster I have brought on it. 23 You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign Lord.(AU)”
