2 주께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. 2 “이스라엘 백성은 만남의 장막 둘레에 진을 치되 장막에서 조금 떨어진 곳에 쳐야 한다. 그들은 각기 그들이 속한 사단의 진 안, 각 가문의 깃발 아래 진을 쳐야 한다.
3 동쪽 곧 해 뜨는 쪽을 향하여는 유다 사단에 속한 부대들이 부대별로 진을 쳐야 한다. 유다 자손의 지휘관은 암미나답의 아들 나손이다. 4 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 칠만 사천육백 명이다.
5 유다 가문 옆에는 잇사갈 가문이 진을 친다. 잇사갈 자손의 지휘관은 수알의 아들 느다넬이다. 6 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 오만 사천사백 명이다.
7 그 다음에 스불론 가문이 진을 친다. 스불론 자손의 지휘관은 헬론의 아들 엘리압이다. 8 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 오만 칠천사백 명이다.
9 부대별로 유다 사단에 소속된 장정은 모두 십팔만 육천사백 명이다. 행군이 시작되면 이들이 첫 번째로 출발한다.
10 남쪽에는 르우벤 사단에 속한 부대들이 부대별로 진을 친다. 르우벤 자손의 지휘관은 스데울의 아들 엘리술이다. 11 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 사만 육천오백 명이다.
12 르우벤 가문 옆에는 시므온 가문이 진을 친다. 시므온 자손의 지휘관은 수리삿대의 아들 슬루미엘이다. 13 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 오만 구천삼백 명이다.
14 그 다음에 갓 가문이 진을 친다. 갓 자손의 지휘관은 르우엘[a]의 아들 엘리아삽이다. 15 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 사만 오천육백오십 명이다.
16 부대별로 르우벤 사단에 속한 장정은 모두 십오만 천사백오십 명이다. 행군이 시작되면 이들이 두 번째로 출발한다.
17 그 다음에 만남의 장막과 레위 사단이 출발하여 모든 사단의 가운데에 서서 나아간다. 그들은 진을 칠 때와 같은 차례로 출발하되 각기 자기들이 속한 사단 안에서 제자리를 지켜야 한다.
18 서쪽에는 에브라임 사단에 속한 부대들이 부대별로 진을 친다. 에브라임 자손의 지휘관은 암미훗의 아들 엘리사마이다. 19 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 사만 오백 명이다.
20 에브라임 가문 옆에는 므낫세 가문이 진을 친다. 므낫세 자손들의 지휘관은 브다술의 아들 가말리엘이다. 21 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 삼만 이천이백 명이다.
22 그 다음에 베냐민 가문이 진을 친다. 베냐민 자손의 지휘관은 기드오니의 아들 아비단이다. 23 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 삼만 오천사백 명이다.
24 부대별로 에브라임 사단에 속한 장정은 모두 십만 팔천백 명이다. 행군이 시작되면 이들이 세 번째로 출발한다.
25 북쪽에는 단 사단에 속한 부대들이 부대별로 진을 친다. 단 자손의 지휘관은 암미삿대의 아들 아히에셀이다. 26 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 육만 이천칠백 명이다.
27 단 가문 옆에는 아셀 가문이 진을 친다. 아셀 자손의 지휘관은 오그란의 아들 바기엘이다. 28 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 사만 천오백 명이다.
29 그 다음에는 납달리 가문이 진을 친다. 납달리 자손의 지휘관은 에난의 아들 아히라이다. 30 그의 부대에 속한 장정은 오만 삼천사백 명이다.
31 단 사단에 속한 장정은 모두 십오만 칠천육백 명이다. 행군이 시작되면 이들이 자기들의 부대 깃발을 앞세우고 마지막으로 출발한다.”
32 이들이 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 가문별로 등록된 장정들의 수이다. 부대별로 각 사단에 속한 사람은 모두 합하여 육십만 삼천오백오십 명이다. 33 그러나 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 레위 자손은 다른 이스라엘 사람과 함께 세지 않았다.
34 이스라엘 백성은 모든 것을 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 하였다. 그들은 이렇게 각기 자기들이 속한 사단별로 진을 치고 집안별, 가족별로 출발하였다.

Arrangement of the Camp
2 The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, 2 (A)“The people of Israel shall camp each by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers' houses. They shall camp facing the tent of meeting on every side. 3 Those to camp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah by their companies, the chief of the people of Judah being (B)Nahshon the son of Amminadab, 4 his company as listed being 74,600. 5 Those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar, the chief of the people of Issachar being Nethanel the son of Zuar, 6 his company as listed being 54,400. 7 Then the tribe of Zebulun, the chief of the people of Zebulun being Eliab the son of Helon, 8 his company as listed being 57,400. 9 All those listed of the camp of Judah, by their companies, were 186,400. (C)They shall set out first on the march.
10 “On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben by their companies, the chief of the people of Reuben being Elizur the son of Shedeur, 11 his company as listed being 46,500. 12 And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon, the chief of the people of Simeon being Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai, 13 his company as listed being 59,300. 14 Then the tribe of Gad, the chief of the people of Gad being Eliasaph the son of (D)Reuel, 15 his company as listed being 45,650. 16 All those listed of the camp of Reuben, by their companies, were 151,450. (E)They shall set out second.
17 (F)“Then the tent of meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps; as they camp, so shall they set out, each in position, standard by standard.
18 “On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim by their companies, the chief of the people of Ephraim being Elishama the son of Ammihud, 19 his company as listed being 40,500. 20 And next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh, the chief of the people of Manasseh being Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur, 21 his company as listed being 32,200. 22 Then the tribe of Benjamin, the chief of the people of Benjamin being Abidan the son of Gideoni, 23 his company as listed being 35,400. 24 All those listed of the camp of Ephraim, by their companies, were 108,100. (G)They shall set out third on the march.
25 “On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan by their companies, the chief of the people of Dan being Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai, 26 his company as listed being 62,700. 27 And those to camp next to him shall be the tribe of Asher, the chief of the people of Asher being Pagiel the son of Ochran, 28 his company as listed being 41,500. 29 Then the tribe of Naphtali, the chief of the people of Naphtali being Ahira the son of Enan, 30 his company as listed being 53,400. 31 All those listed of the camp of Dan were 157,600. (H)They shall set out last, standard by standard.”
32 These are the people of Israel as listed by their fathers' houses. All those listed in the camps by their companies were (I)603,550. 33 But (J)the Levites were not listed among the people of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 Thus did the people of Israel. According to all that the Lord commanded Moses, (K)so they camped by their standards, and so they set out, each one in his clan, according to his fathers' house.

The Arrangement of the Tribal Camps
2 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron: 2 “The Israelites are to camp around the tent of meeting some distance from it, each of them under their standard(A) and holding the banners of their family.”
3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.(B) 4 His division numbers 74,600.
5 The tribe of Issachar(C) will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.(D) 6 His division numbers 54,400.
7 The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.(E) 8 His division numbers 57,400.
9 All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.(F)
10 On the south(G) will be the divisions of the camp of Reuben under their standard. The leader of the people of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur.(H) 11 His division numbers 46,500.
12 The tribe of Simeon(I) will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.(J) 13 His division numbers 59,300.
14 The tribe of Gad(K) will be next. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel.[a](L) 15 His division numbers 45,650.
16 All the men assigned to the camp of Reuben,(M) according to their divisions, number 151,450. They will set out second.
17 Then the tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites(N) will set out in the middle of the camps. They will set out in the same order as they encamp, each in their own place under their standard.
18 On the west(O) will be the divisions of the camp of Ephraim(P) under their standard. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.(Q) 19 His division numbers 40,500.
20 The tribe of Manasseh(R) will be next to them. The leader of the people of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.(S) 21 His division numbers 32,200.
22 The tribe of Benjamin(T) will be next. The leader of the people of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni.(U) 23 His division numbers 35,400.
24 All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim,(V) according to their divisions, number 108,100. They will set out third.(W)
25 On the north(X) will be the divisions of the camp of Dan under their standard.(Y) The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.(Z) 26 His division numbers 62,700.
27 The tribe of Asher will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Asher is Pagiel son of Okran.(AA) 28 His division numbers 41,500.
29 The tribe of Naphtali(AB) will be next. The leader of the people of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan.(AC) 30 His division numbers 53,400.
31 All the men assigned to the camp of Dan number 157,600. They will set out last,(AD) under their standards.
32 These are the Israelites, counted according to their families.(AE) All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550.(AF) 33 The Levites, however, were not counted(AG) along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.
34 So the Israelites did everything the Lord commanded Moses; that is the way they encamped under their standards, and that is the way they set out, each of them with their clan and family.
