医治瘫子
9 耶稣坐船回到湖对岸自己住的城镇。
2 有人用担架把一个瘫子抬到耶稣面前。耶稣看见他们的信心，就对瘫子说：“孩子，放心吧！你的罪得到赦免了。”
3 几个律法教师听了，心里想：“这个人是在亵渎上帝。”
4 耶稣知道他们的心思，就说：“你们为什么心怀恶念呢？ 5 说‘你的罪得到赦免了’容易呢？还是说‘你起来行走’容易呢？ 6 如今我要让你们知道人子在世上有赦罪的权柄。”于是祂对瘫子说：“起来！收拾你的担架回家去吧。”
7 那人立刻站起来，回家去了。 8 看见的人都充满了敬畏，就赞美把这样的权柄赐给人的上帝。
呼召马太
9 耶稣离开那里往前走，看见一个名叫马太的人坐在收税站里，便对他说：“跟从我！”马太就站起来跟从了耶稣。
10 耶稣在马太家里坐席的时候，很多税吏和罪人前来跟耶稣和祂的门徒一起坐席。 11 法利赛人看见了，就质问耶稣的门徒：“你们的老师为何跟税吏和罪人一起吃饭？” 12 耶稣听见后，答道：“健康的人不需要医生，有病的人才需要。 13 圣经上说，‘我喜爱怜悯之心，而非祭物’，你们去揣摩这句话的意思吧。我来不是要召义人，乃是要召罪人。”
禁食的问题
14 那时，约翰的门徒来问耶稣：“我们和法利赛人常常禁食，为什么你的门徒不禁食呢？”
15 耶稣对他们说：“新郎和宾客还在一起的时候，宾客怎能悲伤呢？但有一天新郎将被带走，那时他们就要禁食了。
16 “没有人用新布缝补旧衣，恐怕新布会把旧衣扯破，破洞会更大。 17 也没有人用旧皮囊来盛新酒，否则皮囊会胀破，酒也漏了，皮囊也毁了。人们总是把新酒装在新皮囊里，以便两样都能保住。”
起死回生
18 当耶稣在说话的时候，来了一个管理会堂的人跪在祂面前，说：“我的女儿刚刚死了，请你去把手按在她身上，她就会活过来。” 19 耶稣和门徒就起身跟着他去了。 20 途中，有一个患了十二年血漏病的女人挤到耶稣的背后，摸了一下祂衣服的穗边， 21 因为她心想：“我只要摸到祂的衣服，病就会好。” 22 耶稣转过头来，看见她，就说：“女儿，放心吧，你的信心救了你。”就在那一刻，她的顽疾痊愈了。
23 耶稣来到管理会堂之人的家，看见殡葬的吹乐手和乱嚷嚷的人群， 24 就吩咐他们：“你们出去吧，这女孩并没有死，只是睡着了。”他们都讥笑祂。
25 耶稣让众人都出去，然后进去拉着女孩的手，女孩就起来了。 26 这件事传遍了整个地区。
医治瞎子和哑巴
27 耶稣从那里往前走，有两个瞎子跟着祂，高声呼叫：“大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！”
28 耶稣进了房子，那两个瞎子来到祂面前。耶稣问他们：“你们相信我能做这事吗？”他们说：“主啊，我们相信。”
29 于是，耶稣摸他们的眼睛，并说：“照你们的信心成全你们吧。” 30 他们立刻得见光明。耶稣郑重地叮嘱他们：“不要张扬这件事。” 31 但他们出去后把祂所行的事传遍了那一带。
32 他们正要离去，有人带着一个被鬼附身的哑巴来见耶稣。 33 耶稣把鬼赶出去后，哑巴就能说话了。
众人都感到惊奇，说：“在以色列从未见过这样的事。”
34 法利赛人却说：“祂只不过是靠鬼王赶鬼。”
耶稣怜悯众人
35 耶稣走遍了各城各乡，在会堂里教导人，传讲天国的福音，医治各样的疾病。 36 祂看见众人，心里怜悯他们，因为他们困苦无助，好像没有牧人的羊。 37 耶稣对门徒说：“要收割的庄稼很多，工人却很少。 38 因此，你们要祈求庄稼的主人派更多的工人去收割。”

1 Then he [a]entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his [b]own city.
2 And (A)lo, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy laid on a bed. And Jesus [c]seeing their faith, said to the sick of the palsy, Son be of good comfort: thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 And behold, certain of the Scribes said with themselves, This man [d]blasphemeth.
4 But when Jesus saw their thoughts, he said, Wherefore think ye evil things in your hearts?
5 For whether is it easier to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee, or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 And that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority in earth to forgive sins (then said he unto the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thine house.
7 And he arose, and departed to his own house.
8 So when the multitude saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, which had given such authority to men.
9 ¶ (B)[e]And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man sitting at the [f]custom, named Matthew, and said to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, behold, many Publicans and [g]sinners that came thither, sat down at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
11 And when the Pharisees saw that, they said to his disciples, Why eateth your Master with Publicans and sinners?
12 Now when Jesus heard it, he said unto them, The whole need not the Physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what this is, (C)I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but the (D)sinners to repentance.
14 ¶ (E)[h]Then came the disciples of John to him, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, and thy disciples fast not?
15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the [i]children of the marriage chamber mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
16 Moreover, no man pieceth an old garment with a piece of [j]new cloth: for that that should fill it up, taketh away from the garment, and the breach is worse.
17 Neither do they put new wine into old vessels: for then the vessels would break, and the wine would be spilt, and the vessels would perish: but they put new wine into new vessels, and so are both preserved.
18 ¶ (F)[k]While he thus spake unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is now deceased: but come and lay thine hand on her, and she shall live.
19 And Jesus arose and followed him with his disciples.
20 (And behold, a woman which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment.
21 For she said in herself, If I may touch but his garment only, I shall be whole.
22 Then Jesus turned him about, and seeing her, did say, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole at that same moment.)
23 [l] Now when Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the [m]minstrels and the multitude making noise,
24 He said unto them, Get you hence: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
25 And when the multitude were put forth, he went in and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26 And this bruit went throughout all that land.
27 [n]And as Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, O son of David, have mercy upon us.
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind came to him, and Jesus said unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? And they said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened, and Jesus gave them great charge, saying, See that no man know it.
31 But when they were departed, they spread abroad his fame throughout all that land.
32 ¶ (G)[o]And as they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: then the multitude marveled, saying, The like was never seen in Israel.
34 But the Pharisees said, (H)He casteth out devils, through the prince of devils.
35 ¶ And (I)Jesus went about all cities and towns, teaching in their Synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36 [p]But (J)when he saw the multitude, he had compassion upon them, because they were dispersed, and scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 Then said he to his disciples, (K)Surely the harvest is great, but the laborers are few.
38 Wherefore pray the Lord of the harvest, that he would [q]send forth laborers into his harvest.

The healing of the paralytic
9 Jesus got into the boat, and crossed back over to his own town.
2 Some people brought to him a paralyzed man lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Cheer up, my son! Your sins are forgiven!”
3 “This fellow’s blaspheming!” said some of the scribes to themselves.
4 Jesus read their thoughts. “Why let all this wickedness fester in your hearts?” he said. 5 “Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But, to let you know that the son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he spoke to the paralyzed man—“Get up, pick up your bed, and go home!”
7 And he got up, and went away to his home. 8 When the crowds saw it they were frightened, and praised God for giving authority like this to humans.
The call of Matthew
9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax-office.
“Follow me!” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.
10 When he was at home, sitting down to a meal, there were lots of tax-collectors and sinners there who had come to have dinner with Jesus and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax-collectors and sinners?”
12 Jesus heard them.
“It isn’t the healthy who need a doctor,” he said, “it’s the sick. 13 Go and learn what this saying means: ‘It’s mercy I want, not sacrifice.’ My job isn’t to call upright people, but sinners.”
14 Then John’s disciples came to him with a question.
“How come,” they asked, “we and the Pharisees fast frequently, but your disciples don’t fast at all?”
15 “Wedding guests can’t fast, can they,” replied Jesus, “as long as the bridegroom is with them? But sooner or later the bridegroom will be taken away from them. They’ll fast then all right.
16 “No one,” he went on, “sews a patch of unshrunk cloth onto an old coat. The patch will simply pull away from the coat, and you’ll have a worse hole than you started with. 17 People don’t put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the skins will split, the wine will be lost, and the skins will be ruined. They put new wine into new skins, and then both are fine.”
The raising of the little girl
18 As Jesus was saying this, suddenly an official came up and knelt down in front of him.
“It’s my daughter!” he said. “She’s just died! But—if you’ll come and lay your hand on her, she’ll come back to life!”
19 Jesus got up and followed him. So did his disciples.
20 Just then a woman appeared. She had suffered from internal bleeding for twelve years. She came up behind Jesus and touched the hem of his coat.
21 “If I can only touch his coat,” she said to herself, “I’ll be rescued.”
22 Jesus turned round and saw her.
“Cheer up, my daughter!” he said. “Your faith has rescued you.”
And the woman was healed from that moment.
23 Jesus went into the official’s house. There he saw the flute-players, and everybody in a great state of agitation.
24 “Go away!” he said. “The little girl isn’t dead. She’s asleep!” And they laughed at him.
25 So when the crowd had been put out, he went in and took hold of her hand, and she got up. 26 The report of this went out around the whole of that region.
Jesus’ fame increases
27 As Jesus was leaving the area, two blind men followed him, shouting “Have pity on us, son of David!” at the tops of their voices.
28 Jesus went into the house, and the blind men came to him.
“Do you believe that I can do this?” asked Jesus.
“Yes, Master,” they replied.
29 Then Jesus touched their eyes. “As you have believed, so let it happen,” he said. 30 And their eyes were opened.
Then Jesus gave them a stern warning. “Take good care,” he said, “that nobody gets to know about this.” 31 But they went out and spread the news in the whole of that region.
32 After they had left, people brought to Jesus a demon-possessed man who couldn’t speak. 33 Jesus cast out the demon, and the man spoke. The crowds were amazed. “Nothing like this ever happened in Israel,” they said. 34 But the Pharisees said, “He casts out demons by the prince of demons.”
35 Jesus went around all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, announcing the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he felt deeply sorry for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “There’s plenty of harvest to be had, but not many workers! 38 So pray the master of the harvest to send more workers to harvest his fields!”

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man(A)
9 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.(B) 2 Some men brought to him a paralyzed man,(C) lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith,(D) he said to the man, “Take heart,(E) son; your sins are forgiven.”(F)
3 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”(G)
4 Knowing their thoughts,(H) Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? 6 But I want you to know that the Son of Man(I) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.” 7 Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God,(J) who had given such authority to man.
The Calling of Matthew(K)
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,”(L) he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”(M)
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a](N) For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”(O)
Jesus Questioned About Fasting(P)
14 Then John’s(Q) disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often,(R) but your disciples do not fast?”
15 Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them?(S) The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.(T)
16 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. 17 Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman(U)
18 While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him(V) and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her,(W) and she will live.” 19 Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
20 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.(X) 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
22 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart,(Y) daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.”(Z) And the woman was healed at that moment.(AA)
23 When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes,(AB) 24 he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead(AC) but asleep.”(AD) But they laughed at him. 25 After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.(AE) 26 News of this spread through all that region.(AF)
Jesus Heals the Blind and the Mute
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”(AG)
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
“Yes, Lord,” they replied.(AH)
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;(AI) 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.”(AJ) 31 But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.(AK)
32 While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed(AL) and could not talk(AM) was brought to Jesus. 33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”(AN)
34 But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.”(AO)
The Workers Are Few
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.(AP) 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them,(AQ) because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.(AR) 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest(AS) is plentiful but the workers are few.(AT) 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
