9 耶穌從那裡往前走，看見一個人，名叫馬太，坐在稅關那裡，就對他說：“來跟從我！”他就起來跟從了耶穌。 10 耶穌在屋裡吃飯的時候，有很多稅吏和罪人來與他和門徒一起吃飯。 11 法利賽人看見了，就對他的門徒說：“你們的老師為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃飯呢？”

9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,”(B) he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”(C)
