⁴耶穌知道他們的心思，就說：「你們為什麼心懷惡念呢？ ⁵說『你的罪得到赦免了』容易呢？還是說『你起來行走』容易呢？ ⁶如今我要讓你們知道人子在世上有赦罪的權柄。」於是祂對癱子說：「起來！收拾你的擔架回家去吧。」

⁴And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

⁵For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?

⁶But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

⁴Knowing their thoughts,^(A) Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? ⁵Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’? ⁶But I want you to know that the Son of Man^(B) has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.”
