论祷告

“你们祷告的时候,不要像伪善的人那样。他们喜爱站在会堂里和十字路口祷告,好让人看见。我确实地告诉你们:他们已经得到了他们的报偿。 至于你,你祷告的时候,要进入你的内室,关上门,向你在隐秘中的父祷告。这样,你那在隐秘中察看的父就将回报你[d] 你们祷告的时候,不要像外邦人那样,重复无意义的话。他们以为话多了就蒙垂听。 不要像他们那样,因为在你们祈求以前,你们的父就已经知道你们有什么需要了。

祷告的典范

“因此,你们要这样祷告:

我们在天上的父,
愿你的名被尊为圣,
10 愿你的国度来临。
愿你的旨意行在地上,
如同行在天上。
11 我们日用的食粮,愿你今天赐给我们。
12 愿你饶恕我们的亏欠,
如同我们也饶恕了亏欠我们的人。
13 不要让我们陷入试探,
救我们脱离那恶者[e]
因为国度、权柄、荣耀,
全是你的,直到永远!阿们。[f]

14 “要知道,你们如果饶恕别人的过犯,你们的天父也会饶恕你们。 15 你们如果不饶恕别人[g],你们的父也不会饶恕你们的过犯。

论禁食

16 “你们禁食的时候,不要像伪善的人那样愁眉苦脸。他们装出难看的样子,好让人看出他们在禁食。我确实地告诉你们:他们已经得到了他们的报偿。 17 至于你,你禁食的时候,要梳头[h]洗脸, 18 免得被人看出你在禁食;你反而要让你在隐秘中的父看见。这样,你那在隐秘中察看的父就将回报你[i]

论钱财

19 “你们不要为自己在地上积蓄财宝,地上有虫蛀,会锈蚀,也有盗贼钻进来偷窃; 20 而要为自己在天上积蓄财宝:天上既没有虫蛀,也不会锈蚀,也没有盗贼钻进来偷窃。 21 要知道,你的财宝在哪里,你的心也在哪里。

22 “眼睛是身体的灯,所以,如果你的眼睛纯净[j],你的全身就光明; 23 如果你的眼睛污浊,你的全身就黑暗。因此,光如果在你里面成了黑暗,那是多么大的黑暗!

24 “一个人不能服事两个主人。他不是厌恶这个、喜爱那个,就是忠于这个、轻视那个。你们不能既服事神,又服事财富[k]

不要忧虑

25 “所以我告诉你们:不要为你们的生命而忧虑吃什么、喝什么;也不要为你们的身体而忧虑穿什么;难道生命不比食物更重要,身体不比衣服更重要吗? 26 应该看天空的飞鸟:它们不撒种、不收割,也不收集在仓库里,你们的天父尚且养活它们;难道你们不比飞鸟更重要吗? 27 你们当中谁能因着忧虑使自己的寿命延长一刻[l][m]呢? 28 你们为什么为衣服忧虑呢?应该观察野地里的百合花是怎么生长的:它们不劳动,也不纺织。 29 但是我告诉你们:就连所罗门在他最荣耀的时候,所穿戴的也不如这些花中的一朵。 30 你们这些小信的人哪!野地里的草今天还在,明天就被丢进火炉里,神尚且这样装扮它,更何况你们呢! 31 所以不要忧虑,说‘我们吃什么?喝什么?穿什么?’ 32 因为这一切都是外邦人所寻求的,而你们的天父已经知道你们需要这一切了。 33 所以你们应当先寻求神的[n]国和神的义,这一切都将加给你们了。 34 因此,不要为明天忧虑,明天自有明天的忧虑。要知道,每一天自有它的难处,这已经够了。

Teaching About Charitable Giving

“Be sure that you not do your charitable deeds before men to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

“Therefore, when you do your charitable deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do your charitable deeds, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deeds may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

The Lord’s Prayer(A)

“When you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners that they may be seen by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him.

“Therefore pray in this manner:

Our Father who is in heaven,
hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come;
Your will be done
    on earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
    as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,

14 For if you forgive men for their sins, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men for their sins, neither will your Father forgive your sins.

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: They neither work, nor do they spin. 29 Yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. 30 Therefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is here and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore, take no thought, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 (For the Gentiles seek after all these things.) For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you. 34 Therefore, take no thought about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take thought about the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the trouble thereof.
