24 “一個人不能服事兩個主人；他若不是恨這個愛那個，就是忠於這個輕視那個。你們不能服事 神，又服事金錢（“金錢”亞蘭文是“瑪門”）。 25 所以我告訴你們，不要為生命憂慮吃甚麼喝甚麼，也不要為身體憂慮穿甚麼。難道生命不比食物重要嗎？身體不比衣服重要嗎？ 26 你們看天空的飛鳥：牠們不撒種，不收割，也不收進倉裡，你們的天父尚且養活牠們；難道你們不比牠們更寶貴嗎？

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.(A)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry(C) about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.(D) Are you not much more valuable than they?(E)
