5 耶稣看见这许多的人，就上了山，既已坐下，门徒到他跟前来， 2 他就开口教训他们，说： 3 “虚心的人有福了！因为天国是他们的。 4 哀恸的人有福了！因为他们必得安慰。 5 温柔的人有福了！因为他们必承受地土。 6 饥渴慕义的人有福了！因为他们必得饱足。 7 怜恤人的人有福了！因为他们必蒙怜恤。 8 清心的人有福了！因为他们必得见神。 9 使人和睦的人有福了！因为他们必称为神的儿子。 10 为义受逼迫的人有福了！因为天国是他们的。 11 人若因我辱骂你们，逼迫你们，捏造各样坏话毁谤你们，你们就有福了。 12 应当欢喜快乐，因为你们在天上的赏赐是大的。在你们以前的先知，人也是这样逼迫他们。

6 愛慕公義如饑似渴的人有福了，
因為他們必得飽足。
7 心存憐憫的人有福了，
因為他們必蒙上帝的憐憫。
8 心靈純潔的人有福了，
因為他們必看見上帝。
9 使人和睦的人有福了，
因為他們必被稱為上帝的兒女。
10 為義受迫害的人有福了，
因為天國是他們的。
11 「人們因為我的緣故侮辱、迫害、肆意毀謗你們，你們就有福了。 12 要歡喜快樂，因為你們在天上有很大的獎賞。他們也曾這樣迫害以前的先知。

5 Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them.
The Beatitudes(A)
He said:
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.(B)
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.(C)
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.(D)
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.(E)
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.(F)
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,(G)
for they will see God.(H)
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,(I)
for they will be called children of God.(J)
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,(K)
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.(L)
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you,(M) persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.(N) 12 Rejoice and be glad,(O) because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.(P)
