22 彼拉多对他们说：“那么，我怎样处置那称为基督的耶稣呢？”他们齐声说：“把他钉十字架！” 23 彼拉多说：“为甚么呢？他作了甚么恶事呢？”众人更加大声喊叫：“把他钉十字架！” 24 彼拉多见无济于事，反会引起骚动，就拿水在群众面前洗手，说：“流这人的血，与我无关，你们自己负责吧。”

22 “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?”(A) Pilate asked.
They all answered, “Crucify him!”
23 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar(B) was starting, he took water and washed his hands(C) in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,”(D) he said. “It is your responsibility!”(E)
