谋害耶稣
26 耶稣讲完了这番话后，对门徒说： 2 “你们知道，两天后就是逾越节，到时人子会被出卖，被钉在十字架上。” 3 那时，祭司长和民间的长老正聚集在大祭司该亚法的府里， 4 策划逮捕、杀害耶稣。 5 但他们认为在节日期间不宜下手，因为可能会在百姓中引起骚乱。
耶稣受膏
6 当耶稣在伯大尼患过麻风病的西门家里时， 7 有个女子趁着祂坐席的时候，把一瓶珍贵的香膏倒在祂头上。
8 门徒看见后，生气地说：“真浪费， 9 这瓶香膏值不少钱，用来周济穷人多好！”
10 耶稣看出他们的心思，便说：“何必为难这女子？她在我身上做的是一件美事。 11 因为你们身边总会有穷人，可是你们身边不会总有我。 12 她把香膏浇在我身上是为我的安葬做准备。 13 我实在告诉你们，无论福音传到世界哪个角落，人们都会传扬这女人的事迹，纪念她。”
犹大出卖耶稣
14 后来，十二门徒中的加略人犹大去见祭司长，说： 15 “如果我把耶稣交给你们，你们肯出多少钱？”他们就给了他三十块银子。 16 从那时起，犹大就寻找机会出卖耶稣。
最后的晚餐
17 除酵节的第一天，门徒来问耶稣说：“我们该在什么地方为你准备逾越节的晚餐呢？”
18 耶稣说：“你们进城去，到某人那里对他说，‘老师说祂的时候到了，祂要与门徒在你家中过逾越节。’” 19 门徒照耶稣的吩咐准备了逾越节的晚餐。
20 傍晚，耶稣和十二个门徒吃晚餐。 21 席间，耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，你们中间有一个人要出卖我。”
22 他们都非常忧愁，相继追问耶稣，说：“主啊，肯定不是我吧？”
23 祂说：“那和我一同在盘子里蘸饼吃的就是要出卖我的人。 24 人子一定会受害，正如圣经上有关祂的记载，但出卖人子的人有祸了，他还不如不生在这世上！”
25 出卖耶稣的犹大问祂：“老师，是我吗？”
耶稣说：“你自己说了。”
26 他们吃的时候，耶稣拿起饼来，祝谢后掰开分给门徒，说：“拿去吃吧，这是我的身体。”
27 接着又拿起杯来，祝谢后递给门徒，说：“你们都喝吧， 28 这是我为万人所流的立约之血，为了使罪得到赦免。 29 我告诉你们，从今天起，一直到我在我父的国与你们共饮新酒的那一天之前，我不会再喝这葡萄酒。” 30 他们唱完诗歌，就出门去了橄榄山。
预言彼得不认主
31 耶稣对门徒说：“今天晚上，你们都要离弃我。因为圣经上说，‘我要击打牧人，羊群将四散。’ 32 但我复活后，要先你们一步去加利利。”
33 彼得说：“即使所有的人都离弃你，我也永远不会离弃你！”
34 耶稣说：“我实在告诉你，今夜鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”
35 彼得说：“就算要我跟你一起死，我也不会不认你！”其余的门徒也都这样说。
在客西马尼祷告
36 耶稣和门徒到了一个叫客西马尼的地方，祂对门徒说：“你们坐在这里，我到那边去祷告。” 37 祂带了彼得和西庇太的两个儿子一起去。祂心里非常忧伤痛苦， 38 就对他们说：“我心里非常忧伤，几乎要死，你们留在这里跟我一起警醒。”
39 祂稍往前走，俯伏在地上祷告：“我父啊！如果可以，求你撤去此杯。然而，愿你的旨意成就，而非我的意愿。”
40 耶稣回到三个门徒那里，见他们都睡着了，就对彼得说：“难道你们不能跟我一同警醒一时吗？ 41 你们要警醒祷告，免得陷入诱惑。你们的心灵虽然愿意，肉体却很软弱。”
42 祂第二次去祷告说：“我父啊！如果我非喝此杯不可，愿你的旨意成就。” 43 祂回来时见他们又睡着了，因为他们困得眼皮发沉。 44 耶稣再次离开他们，第三次去祷告，说的是同样的话。
45 然后，祂回到门徒那里，对他们说：“你们还在睡觉，还在休息吗？看啊！时候到了，人子要被出卖，交在罪人手里了。 46 起来，我们走吧。看，出卖我的人已经来了！”
耶稣被捕
47 耶稣还在说话的时候，十二门徒中的犹大来了，随行的还有祭司长和民间长老派来的一大群拿着刀棍的人。 48 出卖耶稣的犹大预先和他们定了暗号，说：“我亲吻谁，谁就是耶稣，你们把祂抓起来。” 49 犹大随即走到耶稣跟前，说：“老师，你好。”然后亲吻耶稣。
50 耶稣对他说：“朋友，你要做的事，快动手吧。”于是那些人上前，下手捉拿耶稣。 51 耶稣的跟随者中有人伸手拔出佩刀朝大祭司的奴仆砍去，削掉了他一只耳朵。
52 耶稣对他说：“收刀入鞘吧！因为动刀的必死在刀下。 53 难道你不知道，我可以请求我父马上派十二营以上的天使来保护我吗？ 54 我若这样做，圣经上有关这事必如此发生的话又怎能应验呢？”
55 那时，耶稣对众人说：“你们像对付强盗一样拿着刀棍来抓我吗？我天天在圣殿里教导人，你们并没有来抓我。 56 不过这一切事的发生，是要应验先知书上的话。”那时，门徒都丢下祂逃走了。
大祭司审问耶稣
57 捉拿耶稣的人把祂押到大祭司该亚法那里。律法教师和长老已聚集在那里。 58 彼得远远地跟着耶稣，一直跟到大祭司的院子里。他坐在卫兵当中，想知道事情的结果。
59 祭司长和全公会的人正在寻找假证据来控告耶稣，好定祂死罪。 60 虽然有很多假证人诬告祂，但都找不到真凭实据。最后有两个人上前高声说：
61 “这个人曾经说过，‘我能拆毁圣殿，三天内把它重建起来。’”
62 大祭司站起来质问耶稣：“你不回答吗？这些人作证控告你的是什么呢？” 63 耶稣还是沉默不语。
大祭司又对祂说：“我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告诉我们，你是不是上帝的儿子基督？”
64 耶稣说：“如你所言。但我告诉你们，将来你们要看见人子坐在大能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。”
65 大祭司撕裂衣服，说：“祂亵渎了上帝！我们还需要什么证人呢？你们现在亲耳听见了祂说亵渎的话， 66 你们看怎么办？”
他们回应说：“祂该死！”
67 他们就吐唾沫在祂脸上，挥拳打祂。还有人一边打祂耳光，一边说： 68 “基督啊！给我们说预言吧，是谁在打你？”
彼得三次不认主
69 当时，彼得还坐在外面的院子里，有一个婢女走过来对他说：“你也是跟那个加利利人耶稣一伙的。”
70 彼得却当众否认：“我不知道你在说什么。”
71 正当他走到门口要离开时，另一个婢女看见他，就对旁边的人说：“这个人是跟拿撒勒人耶稣一伙的！”
72 彼得再次否认，并发誓说：“我不认识那个人。” 73 过了一会儿，旁边站着的人过来对彼得说：“你肯定也是他们一伙的，听你的口音就知道了。”
74 彼得又赌咒又发誓，说：“我不认识那个人！”就在这时候，鸡叫了。 75 彼得想起耶稣说的话：“在鸡叫以前，你会三次不认我。”他就跑出去，失声痛哭。

26 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, He said unto His disciples,
2 “Ye know that after two days is the Feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified.”
3 Then the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people assembled together unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 and consulted that they might take Jesus by stealth and kill Him.
5 But they said, “Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.”
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper,
7 there came unto Him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on His head as He sat at meat.
8 But when His disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “To what purpose is this waste?
9 For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.”
10 When Jesus perceived this, He said unto them, “Why trouble ye the woman? For she hath wrought a good work upon Me.
11 For ye have the poor always with you, but Me ye have not always.
12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on My body, she did it for My burial.
13 Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this Gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, which this woman hath done, be told as a memorial of her.”
14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests
15 and said unto them, “What will ye give me if I will deliver Him unto you?” And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.
17 Now on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto Him, “Where wilt Thou that we prepare for Thee to eat the Passover?”
18 And He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say unto him, ‘The Master saith, “My time is at hand; I will keep the Passover at thy house with My disciples.”’”
19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them, and they made ready the Passover.
20 Now when the evening had come, He sat down with the twelve.
21 And as they ate, He said, “Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray Me.”
22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto Him, “Lord, is it I?”
23 And He answered and said, “He that dippeth his hand with Me in the dish, the same shall betray Me.
24 The Son of Man goeth as it is written of Him, but woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born.”
25 Then Judas, who betrayed Him, answered and said, “Master, is it I?” He said unto him, “Thou hast said.”
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 And He took the cup and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink ye all of it;
28 for this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s Kingdom.”
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out unto the Mount of Olives.
31 Then Jesus said unto them, “All ye shall be offended because of Me this night; for it is written: ‘I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.’
32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.”
33 Peter answered and said unto Him, “Though all men shall be offended because of Thee, yet I will never be offended.”
34 Jesus said unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, that this night before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice.”
35 Peter said unto Him, “Though I should die with Thee, yet will I not deny Thee.” Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 Then Jesus came with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and said unto the disciples, “Sit ye here while I go and pray yonder.”
37 And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 Then He said unto them, “My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death; tarry ye here and watch with Me.”
39 And He went a little farther, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”
40 And He came unto the disciples and found them asleep, and said unto Peter, “What, could ye not watch with Me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 He went away again the second time and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup may not pass away from Me, unless I drink it, Thy will be done.”
43 And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 And He left them and went away again, and prayed a third time, saying the same words.
45 Then came He to His disciples and said unto them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Rise, let us be going. Behold, he is at hand that doth betray Me.”
47 And while He yet spoke, lo, Judas, one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed Him gave them a sign, saying, “Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is He; hold Him fast.”
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus and said, “Hail, Master!” and kissed Him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, “Friend, why art thou come?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.
51 And behold, one of those who was with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest and smote off his ear.
52 Then said Jesus unto him, “Put up again thy sword into his place, for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He shall at once give Me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 But how then shall the Scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?”
55 In that same hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Are ye come out as against a thief, with swords and staves to take Me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on Me.
56 But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.
57 And those who had laid hold on Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 But Peter followed Him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in and sat with the servants to see the end.
59 Now the chief priests and elders and all the council sought false witness against Jesus to put Him to death,
60 but found none. Yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 and said, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’”
62 And the high priest arose and said unto Him, “Answerest thou nothing? What is it which these witnesses say against thee?”
63 But Jesus held His peace. And the high priest answered and said unto Him, “I adjure thee by the living God that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 Jesus said unto him, “Thou hast said; nevertheless I say unto you, hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.”
65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, “He hath spoken blasphemy! What further need have we of witnesses? Behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy!
66 What think ye?” They answered and said, “He is deserving of death!”
67 Then they spit in His face and buffeted Him, and others smote Him with the palms of their hands,
68 saying, “Prophesy unto us, thou Christ! Who is he that smote thee?”
69 Now Peter sat outside in the palace, and a damsel came unto him, saying, “Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.”
70 But he denied it before them all, saying, “I know not what thou sayest.”
71 And when he had gone out onto the porch, another maid saw him and said unto those who were there, “This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 And again he denied with an oath, “I do not know the man!”
73 And after a while came unto him those who stood by, and said to Peter, “Surely thou also art one of them, for thy speech betrayeth thee.”
74 Then he began to curse and to swear, saying, “I know not the man!” And immediately the cock crowed.
75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, when He said unto him, “Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny Me thrice.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

The Plot Against Jesus(A)
26 When Jesus had finished saying all these things,(B) he said to his disciples, 2 “As you know, the Passover(C) is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
3 Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled(D) in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,(E) 4 and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.(F) 5 “But not during the festival,” they said, “or there may be a riot(G) among the people.”
Jesus Anointed at Bethany(H)(I)
6 While Jesus was in Bethany(J) in the home of Simon the Leper, 7 a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table.
8 When the disciples saw this, they were indignant. “Why this waste?” they asked. 9 “This perfume could have been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor.”
10 Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 The poor you will always have with you,[a](K) but you will not always have me. 12 When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.(L) 13 Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
Judas Agrees to Betray Jesus(M)
14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot(N)—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver.(O) 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.

17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread,(S) the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”(T)
18 He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My appointed time(U) is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the Twelve. 21 And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.”(V)
22 They were very sad and began to say to him one after the other, “Surely you don’t mean me, Lord?”
23 Jesus replied, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.(W) 24 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him.(X) But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
25 Then Judas, the one who would betray him,(Y) said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?”(Z)
Jesus answered, “You have said so.”
26 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it(AA) and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
27 Then he took a cup,(AB) and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 This is my blood of the[b] covenant,(AC) which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.(AD) 29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you(AE) in my Father’s kingdom.”

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(AG)
31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me,(AH) for it is written:
32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”(AJ)
33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”(AK)
35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you,(AL) I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.
Gethsemane(AM)
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee(AN) along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow(AO) to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”(AP)
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup(AQ) be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”(AR)
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me(AS) for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.(AT) The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”(AU)
43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour(AV) has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
Jesus Arrested(AW)
47 While he was still speaking, Judas,(AX) one of the Twelve, arrived. With him was a large crowd armed with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and the elders of the people. 48 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.” 49 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!”(AY) and kissed him.
50 Jesus replied, “Do what you came for, friend.”[d](AZ)
Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him. 51 With that, one of Jesus’ companions reached for his sword,(BA) drew it out and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.(BB)
52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.(BC) 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?(BD) 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled(BE) that say it must happen in this way?”
55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching,(BF) and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.”(BG) Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.
Jesus Before the Sanhedrin(BH)
57 Those who had arrested Jesus took him to Caiaphas(BI) the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled. 58 But Peter followed him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest.(BJ) He entered and sat down with the guards(BK) to see the outcome.
59 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin(BL) were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. 60 But they did not find any, though many false witnesses(BM) came forward.
Finally two(BN) came forward 61 and declared, “This fellow said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”(BO)
62 Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, “Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?” 63 But Jesus remained silent.(BP)
The high priest said to him, “I charge you under oath(BQ) by the living God:(BR) Tell us if you are the Messiah,(BS) the Son of God.”(BT)
64 “You have said so,”(BU) Jesus replied. “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One(BV) and coming on the clouds of heaven.”[e](BW)
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes(BX) and said, “He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. 66 What do you think?”
“He is worthy of death,”(BY) they answered.
67 Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.(BZ) Others slapped him 68 and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you?”(CA)
Peter Disowns Jesus(CB)
69 Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.
70 But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.
71 Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 He denied it again, with an oath: “I don’t know the man!”
73 After a little while, those standing there went up to Peter and said, “Surely you are one of them; your accent gives you away.”
74 Then he began to call down curses, and he swore to them, “I don’t know the man!”
Immediately a rooster crowed. 75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”(CC) And he went outside and wept bitterly.

6 Als nun Jesus in Bethanien im Haus Simons des Aussätzigen war,
7 da trat eine Frau zu ihm mit einer alabasternen Flasche voll kostbaren Salböls und goss es auf sein Haupt, während er zu Tisch saß.
8 Als das seine Jünger sahen, wurden sie unwillig und sprachen: Wozu diese Verschwendung?
9 Man hätte dieses Salböl doch teuer verkaufen und den Armen geben können!
10 Als es aber Jesus bemerkte, sprach er zu ihnen: Warum bekümmert ihr diese Frau? Sie hat doch ein gutes Werk an mir getan!
11 Denn die Armen habt ihr allezeit bei euch, mich aber habt ihr nicht allezeit.
12 Damit, dass sie dieses Salböl auf meinen Leib goss, hat sie mich zum Begräbnis bereitet.
13 Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wo immer dieses Evangelium verkündigt wird in der ganzen Welt, da wird man auch von dem sprechen, was diese getan hat, zu ihrem Gedenken!
Der Verrat des Judas
14 Da ging einer der Zwölf namens Judas Ischariot hin zu den obersten Priestern
15 und sprach: Was wollt ihr mir geben, wenn ich ihn euch verrate? Und sie setzten ihm 30 Silberlinge fest.
16 Und von da an suchte er eine gute Gelegenheit, ihn zu verraten.
Das letzte Passahmahl
17 Am ersten Tag der ungesäuerten Brote traten die Jünger nun zu Jesus und sprachen zu ihm: Wo willst du, dass wir dir das Passahmahl zu essen bereiten?
18 Und er sprach: Geht hin in die Stadt zu dem und dem und sprecht zu ihm: Der Meister lässt dir sagen: Meine Zeit ist nahe; bei dir will ich mit meinen Jüngern das Passah halten!
19 Und die Jünger machten es, wie Jesus ihnen befohlen hatte, und bereiteten das Passah.
20 Als es nun Abend geworden war, setzte er sich mit den Zwölfen zu Tisch.[b]
21 Und während sie aßen, sprach er: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Einer von euch wird mich verraten!
22 Da wurden sie sehr betrübt, und jeder von ihnen fing an, ihn zu fragen: Herr, doch nicht ich?
23 Er antwortete aber und sprach: Der mit mir die Hand in die Schüssel taucht, der wird mich verraten.
24 Der Sohn des Menschen geht zwar dahin, wie von ihm geschrieben steht; aber wehe jenem Menschen, durch den der Sohn des Menschen verraten wird! Es wäre für jenen Menschen besser, wenn er nicht geboren wäre.
25 Da antwortete Judas, der ihn verriet, und sprach: Rabbi, doch nicht ich? Er spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt!
Die Einsetzung des Mahles des Herrn
26 Als sie nun aßen, nahm Jesus das Brot und sprach den Segen, brach es, gab es den Jüngern und sprach: Nehmt, esst! Das ist mein Leib.
27 Und er nahm den Kelch und dankte, gab ihnen denselben und sprach: Trinkt alle daraus!
28 Denn das ist mein Blut, das des neuen Bundes, das für viele vergossen wird zur Vergebung der Sünden.
29 Ich sage euch aber: Ich werde von jetzt an von diesem Gewächs des Weinstocks nicht mehr trinken bis zu jenem Tag, da ich es neu mit euch trinken werde im Reich meines Vaters!
Die Ankündigung der Verleugnung durch Petrus
30 Und nachdem sie den Lobgesang gesungen hatten, gingen sie hinaus an den Ölberg.
31 Da spricht Jesus zu ihnen: Ihr werdet in dieser Nacht alle an mir Anstoß nehmen; denn es steht geschrieben: »Ich werde den Hirten schlagen, und die Schafe der Herde werden sich zerstreuen«.[c]
32 Aber nachdem ich auferweckt worden bin, will ich euch nach Galiläa vorangehen.
33 Da antwortete Petrus und sprach zu ihm: Wenn auch alle an dir Anstoß nehmen, so werde doch ich niemals Anstoß nehmen!
34 Jesus spricht zu ihm: Wahrlich, ich sage dir: In dieser Nacht, ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen!
35 Petrus spricht zu ihm: Und wenn ich auch mit dir sterben müsste, werde ich dich nicht verleugnen! Ebenso sprachen auch alle Jünger.
Gethsemane
36 Da kommt Jesus mit ihnen zu einem Grundstück, das Gethsemane[d] genannt wird. Und er spricht zu den Jüngern: Setzt euch hier hin, während ich weggehe und dort bete!
37 Und er nahm Petrus und die zwei Söhne des Zebedäus mit sich; und er fing an, betrübt zu werden, und ihm graute sehr.
38 Da spricht er zu ihnen: Meine Seele ist tief betrübt bis zum Tod. Bleibt hier und wacht mit mir!
39 Und er ging ein wenig weiter, warf sich auf sein Angesicht, betete und sprach: Mein Vater! Ist es möglich, so gehe dieser Kelch an mir vorüber; doch nicht wie ich will, sondern wie du willst!
40 Und er kommt zu den Jüngern und findet sie schlafend und spricht zu Petrus: Könnt ihr also nicht eine Stunde mit mir wachen?
41 Wacht und betet, damit ihr nicht in Versuchung kommt[e]! Der Geist ist willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach.
42 Wiederum ging er zum zweiten Mal hin, betete und sprach: Mein Vater, wenn dieser Kelch nicht an mir vorübergehen kann, ohne dass ich ihn trinke, so geschehe dein Wille!
43 Und er kommt und findet sie wieder schlafend; denn die Augen waren ihnen schwer geworden.
44 Und er ließ sie, ging wieder hin, betete zum dritten Mal und sprach dieselben Worte.
45 Dann kommt er zu seinen Jüngern und spricht zu ihnen: Schlaft ihr noch immer und ruht? Siehe, die Stunde ist nahe, und der Sohn des Menschen wird in die Hände der Sünder ausgeliefert.
46 Steht auf, lasst uns gehen! Siehe, der mich verrät, ist nahe.
Die Gefangennahme Jesu
47 Und während er noch redete, siehe, da kam Judas, einer der Zwölf, und mit ihm eine große Schar mit Schwertern und Stöcken, [gesandt] von den obersten Priestern und Ältesten des Volkes.
48 Der ihn aber verriet, hatte ihnen ein Zeichen gegeben und gesagt: Der, den ich küssen werde, der ist"s, den ergreift!
49 Und sogleich trat er zu Jesus und sprach: Sei gegrüßt, Rabbi!, und küsste ihn.
50 Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Freund, wozu bist du hier? Da traten sie hinzu, legten Hand an Jesus und nahmen ihn fest.
51 Und siehe, einer von denen, die bei Jesus waren, streckte die Hand aus, zog sein Schwert, schlug den Knecht des Hohenpriesters und hieb ihm ein Ohr ab.
52 Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Stecke dein Schwert an seinen Platz! Denn alle, die zum Schwert greifen, werden durch das Schwert umkommen!
53 Oder meinst du, ich könnte nicht jetzt meinen Vater bitten, und er würde mir mehr als zwölf Legionen Engel schicken?
54 Wie würden dann aber die Schriften erfüllt, dass es so kommen muss?
55 In jener Stunde sprach Jesus zu der Volksmenge: Wie gegen einen Räuber seid ihr ausgezogen mit Schwertern und Stöcken, um mich zu fangen! Täglich bin ich bei euch im Tempel gesessen und habe gelehrt, und ihr habt mich nicht ergriffen.
56 Das alles aber ist geschehen, damit die Schriften der Propheten erfüllt würden. — Da verließen ihn alle Jünger und flohen.
Jesus vor dem Hohen Rat
57 Die aber Jesus festgenommen hatten, führten ihn ab zu dem Hohenpriester Kajaphas, wo die Schriftgelehrten und die Ältesten versammelt waren.
58 Petrus aber folgte ihnen von ferne bis zum Hof des Hohenpriesters. Und er ging hinein und setzte sich zu den Dienern, um den Ausgang [der Sache] zu sehen.
59 Aber die obersten Priester und die Ältesten und der ganze Hohe Rat suchten ein falsches Zeugnis gegen Jesus, um ihn zu töten.
60 Aber sie fanden keines; und obgleich viele falsche Zeugen herzukamen, fanden sie doch keines.
61 Zuletzt aber kamen zwei falsche Zeugen und sprachen: Dieser hat gesagt: Ich kann den Tempel Gottes zerstören und ihn in drei Tagen aufbauen!
62 Und der Hohepriester stand auf und sprach zu ihm: Antwortest du nichts auf das, was diese gegen dich aussagen?
63 Jesus aber schwieg. Und der Hohepriester begann und sprach zu ihm: Ich beschwöre dich bei dem lebendigen Gott, dass du uns sagst, ob du der Christus bist, der Sohn Gottes!
64 Jesus spricht zu ihm: Du hast es gesagt! Überdies sage ich euch: Künftig werdet ihr den Sohn des Menschen sitzen sehen zur Rechten der Macht und kommen auf den Wolken des Himmels!
65 Da zerriss der Hohepriester seine Kleider[f] und sprach: Er hat gelästert! Was brauchen wir weitere Zeugen? Siehe, nun habt ihr seine Lästerung gehört.
66 Was meint ihr? Sie antworteten und sprachen: Er ist des Todes schuldig!
67 Da spuckten sie ihm ins Angesicht und schlugen ihn mit Fäusten; andere gaben ihm Backenstreiche
68 und sprachen: Christus, weissage uns! Wer ist"s, der dich geschlagen hat?
Die dreifache Verleugnung durch Petrus
69 Petrus aber saß draußen im Hof. Und eine Magd trat zu ihm und sprach: Auch du warst mit Jesus, dem Galiläer!
70 Er aber leugnete vor allen und sprach: Ich weiß nicht, was du sagst!
71 Als er dann in den Vorhof hinausging, sah ihn eine andere und sprach zu denen, die dort waren: Auch dieser war mit Jesus, dem Nazarener!
72 Und er leugnete nochmals mit einem Schwur: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht!
73 Bald darauf aber traten die Umstehenden herzu und sagten zu Petrus: Wahrhaftig, du bist auch einer von ihnen; denn auch deine Sprache verrät dich.
74 Da fing er an, [sich] zu verfluchen[g] und zu schwören: Ich kenne den Menschen nicht! Und sogleich krähte der Hahn.
75 Und Petrus erinnerte sich an das Wort Jesu, der zu ihm gesagt hatte: Ehe der Hahn kräht, wirst du mich dreimal verleugnen. Und er ging hinaus und weinte bitterlich.
