22 耶稣又用比喻对他们说： 2 “天国好比一个王为他儿子摆设娶亲的宴席。 3 他打发仆人去，请那些被邀的人来赴宴，他们却不肯来。 4 王又打发别的仆人，说：‘你们去告诉那被邀的人，我的宴席已经预备好了，牛和肥畜已经宰了，各样都齐备，请你们来赴宴。’ 5 那些人不理就走了，一个到自己田里去，一个做买卖去。 6 其余的抓住仆人，凌辱他们，把他们杀了。 7 王就大怒，发兵除灭那些凶手，烧毁他们的城。 8 于是王对仆人说：‘喜宴已经齐备，只是所邀的人不配。 9 所以你们要往岔路口上去，凡遇见的，都邀来赴宴。’ 10 那些仆人就出去，到大路上，凡遇见的，不论善恶都招聚了来，宴席上就坐满了客人。 11 王进来见宾客，看到那里有一个没有穿礼服的， 12 就对他说：‘朋友，你到这里来怎么不穿礼服呢？’那人无言可答。 13 于是王对侍从说：‘捆起他的手脚，把他扔在外边的黑暗里；在那里他要哀哭切齿了。’ 14 因为被召的人多，选上的人少。”
纳税给凯撒的问题(B)
15 于是，法利赛人出去商议，怎样找话柄来陷害耶稣， 16 就打发他们的门徒同希律党人去见耶稣，说：“老师，我们知道你是诚实的，并且诚诚实实传 神的道，无论谁你都一视同仁，因为你不看人的面子。 17 请告诉我们，你的意见如何？纳税给凯撒合不合法？” 18 耶稣看出他们的恶意，就说：“假冒为善的人哪，为什么试探我？ 19 拿一个纳税的钱给我看！”他们就拿一个银币来给他。 20 耶稣问他们：“这像和这名号是谁的？” 21 他们说：“是凯撒的。”于是耶稣说：“这样，凯撒的归凯撒； 神的归 神。” 22 他们听了十分惊讶，就离开他走了。

23 那天，撒都该人来见耶稣。他们说没有复活这回事，于是问耶稣： 24 “老师，摩西说：‘某人若死了，没有孩子，他弟弟该娶他的妻子，为哥哥生子立后。’ 25 从前，在我们这里有兄弟七人，第一个娶了妻，死了，没有孩子，撇下妻子给弟弟。 26 第二、第三，直到第七个，都是如此。 27 后来，那妇人也死了。 28 那么，在复活的时候，她是七个人中哪一个的妻子呢？因为他们都娶过她。” 29 耶稣回答他们说：“你们错了，因为不明白圣经，也不知道 神的大能。 30 在复活的时候，人也不娶也不嫁，而是像天上的天使一样。 31 论到死人复活， 神向你们所说的话，你们没有念过吗？ 32 他说：‘我是亚伯拉罕的 神，以撒的 神，雅各的 神。’ 神不是死人的 神，而是活人的 神。” 33 众人听见这话，对他的教导非常惊讶。

34 法利赛人听见耶稣堵住了撒都该人的口，他们就聚集在一起。 35 其中有一个人是律法师[a]，要试探耶稣，就问他： 36 “老师，律法上的诫命哪一条是最大的呢？” 37 耶稣对他说：“你要尽心、尽性、尽意爱主—你的 神。 38 这是最大的，且是第一条诫命。 39 第二条也如此，就是要爱邻[b]如己。 40 这两条诫命是一切律法和先知书的总纲。”

邀请人们赴宴的寓言
22 耶稣再次用寓言对人们说，他说： 2 “天国就好像是一位为儿子举行婚宴的国王。 3 他派奴仆去通知已被邀请的人来出席婚宴，可是他们都不想来。
4 “然后，国王又派了一些奴仆去，并对他们说∶‘告诉那些被邀请的人，说我的宴席已经摆好，牛和肥畜都已宰了，一切准备就绪，快来赴宴吧。’
5 “但是被邀请的客人都不理睬他们，各忙各的。一个人去田里干活，另一个人去做买卖。 6 其他的一些人抓住国王的奴仆，凌辱他们，把他们杀了。 7 国王勃然大怒，派军队杀了那些凶手，烧毁了他们的城市。
8 “然后，国王对奴仆们说∶‘婚宴已经准备就绪，可是那些被邀请的人不配出席。 9 你们到街头去，无论你们碰到谁，都请他们来赴宴。’ 10 于是奴仆们到街上去，不分好坏，把他们见到的人统统请来。宴会厅里坐满了客人。
11 “国王来见宾客。他看到一个人没穿礼服， 12 就问∶‘朋友，你怎么连礼服也不穿就来了呢？’那人无言以对。 13 于是国王对奴仆说∶‘把他的手脚绑起来，扔到外边的黑暗里去，在那里的人们都将切齿痛哭。’ 14 被邀请的人很多，被选上的人却很少。”

15 法利赛人离开耶稣教导人们的地方，策划如何抓住耶稣话里的把柄。 16 他们派了一些他们的门徒和希律党人去见耶稣。他们说∶“老师，我们知道您很诚实，忠实地传播上帝的真理之道，您不在乎别人的看法，您待人一视同仁。 17 请您告诉我们：我们该不该向凯撒交税？”
18 耶稣知道他们不怀好意，就说∶“你们这些伪善的家伙，为什么想试探我呢？ 19 让我看看你们纳税用的银币。”他们递给耶稣一枚银币， 20 耶稣问∶“这上面刻的是谁的头像和名字？”
21 他们说∶“是凯撒的。”
耶稣说∶“那么，就应该把属于凯撒的东西给凯撒，把属于上帝的东西给上帝。”
22 听了这话，他们都非常惊讶，于是离开耶稣走了。
撒都该人试图设陷井
23 同一天，一些撒都该人来问耶稣一个问题，（他们这些人不相信人会复活。） 24 他们说∶“老师，摩西说∶‘如果一个结了婚的男子死了，没留下儿女，他的兄弟就应该和他的遗孀结婚，代兄长生儿育女。 25 从前我们这里有七个兄弟，老大结婚后死了，没留下孩子，老二就娶了这寡妇。 26 可是也没有孩子也死了。就这样，兄弟七人都和这女子结了婚，但都没有和这女子生下孩子就死了。 27 最后，这个女子也死了。 28 请问，即然他们都和她结过婚，那么在他们复活后，这个女子应该是谁的妻子呢？”
29 耶稣回答说∶“你们错了，因为你们既不理解《经》，也不了解上帝的力量。 30 复活之后，人们像天上的天使一样，不娶也不嫁。 31 另外，关于死者复活的事，你们难道没有读过上帝告诉你们的话吗？ 32 他说∶‘我是亚伯拉罕的上帝，我是以撒的上帝，我是雅各的上帝。’ [a]上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。”
33 众人听了这些，对他的教导感到惊奇。
最重要的诫命
34 耶稣的这番话说得撒都该人哑口无言，法利赛人又聚在一起， 35 其中一个人是研究摩西律法的专家，他想试探耶稣，他问道： 36 “老师，律法中的哪条诫命是最重要的？”
37 耶稣回答说∶“‘要全心全意、尽智地爱主—你的上帝。’ [b] 38 这是首要的一条，也是最重要的。 39 第二条和第一条一样∶‘爱人如爱己。’ [c] 40 这两条命令是一切律法和先知教导的基础。”
耶稣向法利赛人提问
41 法利赛人聚到一起时，耶稣问他们： 42 “你们怎么看基督？他是谁的子孙？”
他们回答∶“大卫的子孙。”
43 耶稣问他们∶“既然这样，大卫怎么受圣灵召唤而叫他‘主’呢？大卫说：
44 ‘主（上帝）对我的主说：
坐在我的右边，
直到我把你的敌人置于你的脚下。’ (A)
45 “既然大卫称基督为‘主’，基督又怎么可能是大卫的子孙呢？”
46 没有一个人能回答这个问题。从那天起，再也没有人敢向耶稣提问题了。

22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.
23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
27 And last of all the woman died also.
28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
42 Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
43 He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
44 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
45 If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
46 And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast(A)
22 And Jesus answered (B)and spoke to them again by parables and said: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; (C)my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ 5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. 6 And the rest seized his servants, treated them [a]spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out (D)his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not (E)worthy. 9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ 10 So those servants went out into the highways and (F)gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. The Pharisees: Is It Lawful to Pay Taxes to Caesar?(K)
15 (L)Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent to Him their disciples with the (M)Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and teach the way of God in truth; nor do You care about anyone, for You do not [c]regard the person of men. 17 Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
18 But Jesus [d]perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? 19 Show Me the tax money.”
So they brought Him a denarius.
20 And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”
21 They said to Him, “Caesar’s.”
And He said to them, (N)“Render[e] therefore to Caesar the things that are (O)Caesar’s, and to God the things that are (P)God’s.” 22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.
The Sadducees: What About the Resurrection?(Q)
23 (R)The same day the Sadducees, (S)who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him, 24 saying: “Teacher, (T)Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brothers. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. 27 Last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are [f]mistaken, (U)not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but (V)are like angels [g]of God in heaven. 31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, 32 (W)‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 37 Jesus said to him, (AB)“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: (AC)‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 (AD)On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
Jesus: How Can David Call His Descendant Lord?(AE)
41 (AF)While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?”
They said to Him, “The (AG)Son of David.”
43 He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying:
44 ‘The(AH) Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool” ’?
45 If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” 46 (AI)And no one was able to answer Him a word, (AJ)nor from that day on did anyone dare question Him anymore.
