葡萄园工人的比喻
20 耶稣接着说：“因为天国就像一个园主清早去外面请工人到他的葡萄园做工。 2 他跟工人讲好一天的工钱是一个银币，然后派他们去葡萄园。
3 “大约上午九点钟，园主出去看见一些人站在街市上无所事事， 4 就对他们说，‘你们到我的葡萄园来工作吧，我会给你们合理的工钱。’
5 “他们便去了。正午和下午三点钟，他又出去继续请人到葡萄园做工。 6 到了下午五点钟的时候，他再次出去，看见还有人闲站在那里，就问他们，‘为什么你们整天站在这里无所事事呢？’ 7 他们回答说，‘因为没有人雇用我们。’园主说，‘你们也到我的葡萄园来吧！’
8 “到了傍晚，园主对工头说，‘叫工人来领工钱吧，最晚来的先领，最先来的后领。’
9 “下午五点来的工人每人得了一个银币。 10 最早来的工人来领的时候，以为必定可以多得一点工钱，谁知也各得一个银币。
11 “他们拿着工钱满腹牢骚地对园主说， 12 ‘那些最晚来的人只工作了一小时，而我们在烈日之下辛苦了一整天，怎么会领同样的工钱呢？’
13 “园主对他们当中的一个人说，‘朋友，我并没有欠你呀！我们不是讲好付你一个银币吗？ 14 拿着你的工钱走吧。我给那后来的和你一样的工钱，是我愿意。 15 难道我不可随意使用自己的钱吗？因为我慷慨，你就眼红吗？’ 16 因此，为首的将要殿后，殿后的将要为首。”
耶稣第三次预言自己受难
17 在去耶路撒冷的途中，耶稣把十二个门徒带到一边，对他们说： 18 “你们要留意，我们现在前往耶路撒冷，人子将被交给祭司长和律法教师。他们要判祂死刑， 19 把祂交给外族人，受嘲弄、鞭打，被钉在十字架上。但第三天祂必复活。”
一个母亲的请求
20 当时，西庇太的妻子带着两个儿子上前，跪在耶稣面前，有事要求祂。
21 耶稣问她：“你要什么呢？”
她说：“在你的国度，请让我这两个儿子一个坐在你右边，一个坐在你左边。”
22 耶稣回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我要喝的那一杯，你们能喝吗？”
他们说：“我们能。”
23 耶稣对他们说：“我要喝的那一杯，你们也要喝。不过谁坐在我的左右不是我来定，而是我父为谁预备的，就让谁坐。”
24 其他十个门徒听见这事，都对他们兄弟二人十分恼火。 25 于是，耶稣把他们叫来，说：“外族人有君王统治他们，有大臣管理他们。但你们不可这样。 26 你们中间，谁要当首领，谁就要做大家的仆人； 27 谁要居首位，谁就要做大家的奴仆。 28 正如人子不是来受人服侍，而是来服侍人，并且牺牲性命，作许多人的赎价。”
治好两个瞎子
29 耶稣和祂的门徒离开耶利哥时，有一大群人跟着祂。 30 有两个瞎子正坐在路旁，听说耶稣经过，就高声喊叫：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！” 31 众人责备他们，叫他们不要出声，他们却喊得更大声了：“主啊，大卫的后裔啊，可怜我们吧！”
32 耶稣停下脚步，叫了他们来，问他们：“你们要我为你们做什么？” 33 他们说：“主啊，我们想能够看见。” 34 耶稣就动了慈心，摸他们的眼睛，他们立刻得见光明，并跟从了耶稣。
光荣进圣城
21 耶稣和门徒离耶路撒冷越来越近了，他们来到橄榄山旁的伯法其。 2 耶稣派两个门徒进村，并对他们说：“你们到前面的村庄去，就会看见一头母驴拴在那里，旁边还有一头驴驹。你们把它们解开，牵到我这里。 3 要是有人问起，你们就说，‘主要用它们’，那人会立刻让你们牵来。” 4 这件事是要应验先知的话：
5 “要对锡安城[a]说，‘看啊，你的君王来了！祂谦卑地骑着驴，骑着一头驴驹。’”
6 两个门徒照着耶稣的吩咐去了， 7 把母驴和驴驹带了回来。他们把自己的衣服盖在驴背上，让耶稣骑上去。 8 许多人把衣服铺在路上，也有些人砍下树枝铺在路上。 9 众人前呼后拥，欢呼着说：
“和散那[b]归于大卫的后裔！
奉主名来的当受称颂！
和散那归于至高之处的上帝！”
10 耶稣进耶路撒冷时，全城轰动，说：“这是谁？”
11 众人说：“祂是先知耶稣，来自加利利的拿撒勒。”
洁净圣殿
12 耶稣进入圣殿，赶走里面做买卖的人，又推翻兑换钱币之人的桌子和卖鸽子之人的凳子。
13 耶稣斥责他们说：“圣经上说，‘我的殿必称为祷告的殿。’你们竟把它变成了贼窝。”
14 殿中的瞎子和瘸子都来到耶稣面前，祂便医好了他们。 15 祭司长和律法教师看见祂所行的奇事，又听见小孩子在圣殿里高声喊着：“和散那归于大卫的后裔！”便十分恼怒。 16 他们责问耶稣说：“你听见这些人说的了吗？”
耶稣说：“我听见了。圣经上说，‘你使孩童和婴儿口中发出颂赞’，你们没有读过吗？” 17 然后，祂便离开他们，出城前往伯大尼，在那里住宿。
咒诅无花果树
18 清早，耶稣在回城的途中饿了。 19 祂看见路旁有一棵无花果树，便走过去，却发现除了叶子外什么也没有。
祂对那棵树说：“你将再不会结果子！”那棵树立刻枯萎了。
20 门徒见了就惊奇地问：“这棵树怎么一下子枯萎了？”
21 耶稣回答说：“我实在告诉你们，如果你们有信心、不怀疑，不但能使无花果树枯萎，就算对这座山说，‘从这里挪开，投进大海里！’也照样可以实现。 22 所以，你们祷告时无论求什么，只要有信心，就必定得到。”
质问耶稣的权柄
23 耶稣进了圣殿，正在教导人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老来质问祂：“你凭什么权柄做这些事？谁授权给你了？”
24 耶稣说：“我也要问你们一个问题，你们回答了，我就告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。 25 约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的？从天上来的，还是从人来的？”
他们便彼此议论说：“如果我们说‘是从天上来的’，祂一定会问我们，‘那你们为什么不信他？’ 26 但如果我们说‘是从人来的’，又怕触怒百姓，因为他们相信约翰是个先知。” 27 于是，他们回答耶稣说：“我们不知道。”
耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。”
两个儿子的比喻
28 耶稣又说：“你们怎样看这件事？某人有两个儿子。他对大儿子说，‘孩子，你今天到葡萄园工作吧！’
29 “大儿子回答说，‘我不去！’但后来他改变了主意，就去了。
30 “那父亲又对小儿子说，‘你今天到葡萄园工作吧！’小儿子回答说，‘好的，父亲。’他答应了，却没有去。
31 “你们认为这两个儿子，到底哪一个服从父亲呢？”
他们回答道：“大儿子。”
耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，税吏和娼妓要比你们先进上帝的国。 32 因为约翰来指示你们当行的正路，你们不信他，但税吏和娼妓信了。你们亲眼看见了这些事，竟然还是执迷不悟，不肯信他。
恶毒的佃户
33 “你们再听一个比喻。有个园主栽种了一个葡萄园，在园子的四周建造围墙，又在园中挖了一个榨酒池，建了一座瞭望台，然后把葡萄园租给佃户，就出远门了。 34 到了收获的季节，园主派奴仆到佃户那里收果子。 35 但那些佃户却抓住他的奴仆，打伤一个，杀死一个，又用石头打死了一个。 36 于是，园主又派更多的奴仆去，结果也遭到同样的对待。 37 最后，园主派了自己的儿子去，心想，‘他们肯定会尊重我的儿子。’ 38 然而，那些佃户看见园主的儿子来了，就商量说，‘这是园主的继承人。来吧！我们杀掉他，占了他的产业！’ 39 于是，他们抓住他，把他推出园外杀了。 40 那么，当园主回来的时候，他会怎样处置那些佃户呢？”
41 他们说：“他会毫不留情地除掉那些恶人，然后把葡萄园租给其他按时交果子的佃户。”
42 耶稣说：
“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石。
这是主的作为，在我们看来奇妙莫测。’
你们难道没有读过这段经文吗？ 43 所以，我告诉你们，将把上帝的国从你们那里夺去，赐给结果子的人。 44 凡跌在这石头上的人，一定粉身碎骨；这石头落在谁身上，就会把谁砸烂。”
45 祭司长和法利赛人听了耶稣的比喻，明白是针对他们讲的。 46 他们试图逮捕耶稣，但又害怕百姓，因为百姓都认为耶稣是先知。
王宴客的比喻
22 耶稣又用比喻对他们说： 2 “天国就像一个王为儿子筹备婚宴。 3 他派奴仆去请受邀的客人，可是客人都不肯赴宴。 4 王再派其他奴仆去，说，‘去告诉被邀请的人，我的宴席已经备好，公牛和肥畜都宰了，一切都预备妥当，来赴婚宴吧！’ 5 那些人却毫不理会地走了，一个去种田，一个去做买卖， 6 其余的竟然抓住王的奴仆，把他们羞辱一番后杀了。 7 王大怒，派军队去剿灭凶手，烧毁他们的城。
8 “然后，他对奴仆说，‘婚宴已预备好了，只是被邀请的人不配。 9 所以你们到街头巷尾，把所有见到的人都请来。’ 10 奴仆到街上把遇到的人都请了来，好人坏人都有，大厅里满了客人。
11 “王出来会见在座的客人，发现有一个人没有穿礼服， 12 就问他，‘朋友，你来这里怎么不穿婚宴的礼服呢？’那人无言以对。 13 王便吩咐侍从，‘把他手脚绑起来丢到外面的黑暗里，让他在那里哀哭切齿。’”
14 耶稣又说：“被邀请的人多，选上的人少。”
以纳税问题刁难耶稣
15 那时，法利赛人出去策划怎样从耶稣的话里找把柄陷害祂。 16 他们派了自己的门徒跟希律党人一同去问耶稣：“老师，我们知道你诚实无伪，按真理传上帝的道，你不徇情面，不以貌取人。 17 那么请告诉我们，纳税给凯撒对不对呢？”
18 耶稣看出了他们的恶意，就说：“你们这些伪君子，为什么试探我呢？ 19 拿一个纳税用的钱币来给我看。”他们就拿给祂一个银币。
20 耶稣问他们：“上面刻的是谁的像和名号？”
21 他们说：“凯撒的。”
耶稣说：“那么，属于凯撒的东西应该给凯撒，属于上帝的东西应该给上帝。” 22 他们听了很惊奇，只好离开祂走了。
论复活
23 同一天，不相信死人会复活的撒都该人也来问耶稣， 24 说：“老师，摩西说，‘如果一个人死了，没有儿女，只留下妻子，他的兄弟就当娶嫂嫂，替哥哥传宗接代。’ 25 从前，我们这里有弟兄七人，老大结了婚，没有孩子就死了，把妻子留给了弟弟。 26 二弟、三弟一直到七弟都相继娶了嫂嫂，都没留下孩子。 27 最后，那女人也死了。 28 那么，到复活的时候，她将是谁的妻子呢？因为他们都娶过她。”
29 耶稣说：“你们弄错了。你们不明白圣经，也不知道上帝的能力。 30 因为到复活的时候，人们将不娶也不嫁，就像天上的天使一样。
31 “关于死人复活的事，难道你们没有读过上帝对你们说过的话吗？ 32 祂说，‘我是亚伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝。’上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。” 33 众人听到祂的教导都很惊奇。
最大的诫命
34 法利赛人听见耶稣使撒都该人无言以对，就聚集在一起。 35 其中有位律法专家试探耶稣说： 36 “老师，请问律法中哪一条诫命最重要呢？”
37 耶稣回答说：“‘你要全心、全情、全意爱主——你的上帝’， 38 这是第一条也是最重要的诫命。 39 第二条也相似，就是‘要爱邻如己’。 40 律法和先知的全部教导都以这两条诫命为基础。”
基督的身份
41 耶稣趁着法利赛人聚在那里，就问他们： 42 “你们对基督有何看法？祂是谁的后裔？”他们答道：“大卫的后裔。”
43 耶稣说：“那么，为什么大卫受圣灵感动，称祂为主呢？大卫曾说，
44 “‘主对我主说，
你坐在我的右边，
等我使你的仇敌伏在你脚下。’
45 既然大卫称基督为主，基督又怎么会是大卫的后裔呢？” 46 没人能回答耶稣的问题。从此再没有人敢用问题来刁难耶稣了。

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard
20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like(A) a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.(B) 2 He agreed to pay them a denarius[a] for the day and sent them into his vineyard.
3 “About nine in the morning he went out and saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing. 4 He told them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So they went.
“He went out again about noon and about three in the afternoon and did the same thing. 6 About five in the afternoon he went out and found still others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day long doing nothing?’
7 “‘Because no one has hired us,’ they answered.
“He said to them, ‘You also go and work in my vineyard.’
8 “When evening came,(C) the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the workers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last ones hired and going on to the first.’
9 “The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius. 10 So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they began to grumble(D) against the landowner. 12 ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat(E) of the day.’
13 “But he answered one of them, ‘I am not being unfair to you, friend.(F) Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius? 14 Take your pay and go. I want to give the one who was hired last the same as I gave you. 15 Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’(G)
16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”(H)
Jesus Predicts His Death a Third Time(I)
17 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, 18 “We are going up to Jerusalem,(J) and the Son of Man(K) will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law.(L) They will condemn him to death 19 and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged(M) and crucified.(N) On the third day(O) he will be raised to life!”(P)
A Mother’s Request(Q)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons(R) came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down,(S) asked a favor of him.
21 “What is it you want?” he asked.
She said, “Grant that one of these two sons of mine may sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom.”(T)
22 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said to them. “Can you drink the cup(U) I am going to drink?”
“We can,” they answered.
23 Jesus said to them, “You will indeed drink from my cup,(V) but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard about this, they were indignant(W) with the two brothers. 25 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,(X) 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man(Y) did not come to be served, but to serve,(Z) and to give his life as a ransom(AA) for many.”
Two Blind Men Receive Sight(AB)
29 As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him. 30 Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David,(AC) have mercy on us!”
31 The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
33 “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.”
34 Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.
Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King(AD)(AE)
21 As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives,(AF) Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”
4 This took place to fulfill(AG) what was spoken through the prophet:
5 “Say to Daughter Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”[b](AH)
6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks(AI) on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet(AM) from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Jesus at the Temple(AN)
12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying(AO) and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers(AP) and the benches of those selling doves.(AQ) 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[f](AR) but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’[g]”(AS)
14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.(AT) 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,”(AU) they were indignant.(AV)
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany,(AX) where he spent the night.
Jesus Curses a Fig Tree(AY)
18 Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.(AZ)
20 When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt,(BA) not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for(BB) in prayer.”
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(BC)
23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. “By what authority(BD) are you doing these things?” they asked. “And who gave you this authority?”
24 Jesus replied, “I will also ask you one question. If you answer me, I will tell you by what authority I am doing these things. 25 John’s baptism—where did it come from? Was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’ 26 But if we say, ‘Of human origin’—we are afraid of the people, for they all hold that John was a prophet.”(BE)
27 So they answered Jesus, “We don’t know.”
Then he said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
The Parable of the Two Sons
28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’(BF)
29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?”
“The first,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors(BG) and the prostitutes(BH) are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. 32 For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness,(BI) and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors(BJ) and the prostitutes(BK) did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent(BL) and believe him.
The Parable of the Tenants(BM)
33 “Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted(BN) a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower.(BO) Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.(BP) 34 When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants(BQ) to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35 “The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third.(BR) 36 Then he sent other servants(BS) to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37 Last of all, he sent his son to them. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
38 “But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir.(BT) Come, let’s kill him(BU) and take his inheritance.’(BV) 39 So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40 “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”
41 “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,”(BW) they replied, “and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants,(BX) who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
“‘The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes’[i]?(BY)
43 “Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you(BZ) and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44 Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”[j](CA)
45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them. 46 They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.(CB)
The Parable of the Wedding Banquet(CC)
22 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like(CD) a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants(CE) to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
4 “Then he sent some more servants(CF) and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’
5 “But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers(CG) and burned their city.
8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners(CH) and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good,(CI) and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend(CJ)?’ The man was speechless.
13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’(CK)
14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”(CL)
Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar(CM)
15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians.(CN) “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[k](CO) to Caesar or not?”
18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.
Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(CP) and to God what is God’s.”
22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.(CQ)
Marriage at the Resurrection(CR)
23 That same day the Sadducees,(CS) who say there is no resurrection,(CT) came to him with a question. 24 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses told us that if a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and raise up offspring for him.(CU) 25 Now there were seven brothers among us. The first one married and died, and since he had no children, he left his wife to his brother. 26 The same thing happened to the second and third brother, right on down to the seventh. 27 Finally, the woman died. 28 Now then, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be of the seven, since all of them were married to her?”
29 Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures(CV) or the power of God. 30 At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;(CW) they will be like the angels in heaven. 31 But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32 ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’[l]?(CX) He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
33 When the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.(CY)

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees,(DA) the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law,(DB) tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[m](DC) 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[n](DD) 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”(DE)

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 “What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”
“The son of David,”(DG) they replied.
43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him ‘Lord’? For he says,
44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I put your enemies
under your feet.”’[o](DH)
45 If then David calls him ‘Lord,’ how can he be his son?” 46 No one could say a word in reply, and from that day on no one dared to ask him any more questions.(DI)

20 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.

37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
46 But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
22 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
3 And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
