20 “天国好比一家的主人，一大早出去雇人到他的葡萄园工作。 2 他与工人彼此说好一天一个银币[a]，就派他们进他的葡萄园去。 3 大约上午九点[b]，他又出去，看见还有人闲站在街市上， 4 就对他们说：‘你们也进葡萄园去吧，理当给的，我会给你们。’ 5 他们就去了。大约中午十二点[c]和下午三点[d]，主人又出去，也是这么做。 6 下午五点[e]左右，他出去看见还有人站着，就问他们：‘你们为什么整天闲站在这里呢？’
7 “他们回答说：‘因为没有人雇用我们。’
“他就说：‘你们也进葡萄园去吧。[f]’ 8 到了傍晚，葡萄园的主人对管事的说：‘把工人叫来，发给他们工钱，从最后来的开始，到最先来的为止。’
9 “那些下午五点[g]左右被雇[h]的人来了，每人领了一个银币。 10 那些最先被雇[i]的人也来了，以为会得到更多，可是他们每人也只领到一个银币。 11 他们拿到钱以后，就对那家的主人抱怨， 12 说：‘这些最后来的人只工作了一个小时，而我们经受了一天的劳累和炎热，你却把他们和我们同等看待！’
13 “主人回答他们其中的一个人，说：‘朋友，我并没有亏负你。我们不是彼此说好了一个银币吗？ 14 你拿自己的走吧！我愿意给那最后来的，就像我也给你一样。 15 难道我不可以用我的东西，做我愿意做的事吗？还是因为我好心，你就嫉妒了吗[j]？’
16 “这样，那些在后的，将要在前；那些在前的，将要在后。[k]”
第三次预言受难
17 耶稣上耶路撒冷去的时候，在路上单独把十二个门徒带到一边，对他们说： 18 “看，我们现在上耶路撒冷去，人子将被出卖给祭司长们和经文士们。他们要定他死罪， 19 并且要把他交给外邦人去戏弄、鞭打、钉上十字架；然后在第三天，他要复活。”
受苦与服事
20 那时，西庇太儿子的母亲带着她的两个儿子上前来拜耶稣，向他求一件事。 21 耶稣问她：“你要什么呢？”
她说：“请准许我这两个儿子，在你的国里，一个坐在你的右边，一个坐在你的左边。”
22 耶稣就回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我将要喝的杯，你们能喝吗？[l]”
他们说：“我们能。”
23 耶稣对他们说：“我的杯你们固然要喝[m]，但坐在我的右边或左边，不是我所赐的，而是我父已经预备给谁，就赐给谁。” 24 其他十个使徒听了，就对这兄弟两个人很不满。 25 于是耶稣把他们召来，说：“你们知道，外邦人有首领压制他们，也有为大的管辖他们。 26 你们当中却不是这样；相反，谁想在你们当中为大，谁就该做你们的仆人； 27 无论谁想在你们当中为首，谁就该做你们的奴仆， 28 就像人子来不是为了受人的服事，而是为了服事人，并且献上自己的生命，替许多人做救赎的代价。”
治愈耶利哥的盲人
29 他们离开耶利哥的时候，有一大群人跟随耶稣。 30 这时候有两个瞎眼的坐在路边，他们听说是耶稣经过那里，就呼叫说：“主啊，大卫的后裔[n]，可怜我们吧！” 31 众人责备他们，叫他们不要做声。可是他们越发呼叫说：“主啊，大卫的后裔[o]，可怜我们吧！”
32 耶稣就停住，叫他们过来，说：“你们要我为你们做什么呢？”
33 他们说：“主啊，愿你开我们的眼睛。” 34 耶稣动了怜悯之心，摸了他们的眼睛。他们立刻重见光明，于是跟随了耶稣。

The Workers in the Vineyard
20 “The kingdom from[a] heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing to pay the workers one denarius[b] a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 When he went out about nine o’clock,[c] he saw others standing in the marketplace without work. 4 He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard, too, and I will pay you whatever is right.’ 5 So off they went. He went out again about noon[d] and about three o’clock[e] and did the same thing. 6 About five o’clock[f] he went out and found some others standing around. He asked them, ‘Why are you standing here all day long without work?’ 7 They told him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He told them, ‘You go into the vineyard as well.’
8 “When evening came, the owner of the vineyard told his manager, ‘Call the workers and give them their wages, beginning with the last and ending with[g] the first.’ 9 Those who were hired at five o’clock[h] came, and each received a denarius.
10 “When the first came, they thought they would receive more, but each received a denarius as well. 11 When they received it, they began to complain to the landowner, 12 ‘These last fellows worked only one hour, but you paid them the same as us, and we’ve been working all day,[i] enduring the scorching heat!’
13 “But he told one of them, ‘Friend, I’m not treating you unfairly. You did agree with me for a denarius, didn’t you? 14 Take what is yours and go. I want to give this last man as much as I gave you.[j] 15 I am allowed to do what I want with my own money,[k] am I not? Or are you envious[l] because I’m generous?’
16 “In the same way, the last will be first, and the first will be last, because many are called, but few are chosen.”[m]
Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection a Third Time(A)
17 When Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples[n] aside and told them as they were walking along, 18 “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death. 19 Then they will hand him over to unbelievers[o] to be mocked, whipped, and crucified, but on the third day he will be raised.”
The Request of James and John(B)
20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Jesus[p] with her sons. She bowed down in front of him to ask him for a favor. 21 He asked her, “What do you want?”
She told him, “Promise[q] that in your kingdom these two sons of mine will sit on your right and on your left.”
22 Jesus replied, “You don’t realize what you’re asking. Can you drink from the cup that I’m going to drink from?”[r]
They told him, “We can.”
23 He told them, “You will indeed drink from my cup. But it’s not up to me to grant you a seat at my right hand or at my left. These positions have already been prepared for others by my Father.”
24 When the ten heard this, they became furious with the two brothers. 25 But Jesus called the disciples[s] and said, “You know that the rulers of the unbelievers[t] lord it over them and their superiors act like tyrants over them. 26 That’s not the way it should be among you. Instead, whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave. 28 That’s the way it is with the Son of Man. He did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many people.”
Jesus Heals Two Blind Men(C)
29 As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Jesus.[u] 30 When two blind men who were sitting by the roadside heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted, “Have mercy on us, Lord,[v] Son of David!” 31 When the crowd told them harshly to be silent, they shouted even louder, “Have mercy on us, Lord, Son of David!”
32 Jesus stopped and called them, saying, “What do you want me to do for you?”
33 They told him, “Lord, we want to be able to see!”[w] 34 Then Jesus, deeply moved with compassion, touched their eyes, and at once they could see again. So they followed him.

20 “For (A)the kingdom of heaven is like [a]a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his (B)vineyard. 2 When he had agreed with the laborers for a [b]denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the [c]third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace; 4 and to those he said, ‘You go into the vineyard also, and whatever is right, I will give you.’ And so they went. 5 Again he went out about the [d]sixth and the ninth hour, and did [e]the same thing. 6 And about the [f]eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he *said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’ 7 They *said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He *said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’
8 “Now when (C)evening came, the [g]owner of the vineyard *said to his (D)foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, starting with the last group to the first.’ 9 When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a [h]denarius. 10 And so when those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; [i]but each of them also received a denarius. 11 When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These who were hired last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day’s work and the (E)scorching heat.’ 13 But he answered and said to one of them, ‘(F)Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go; but I want to give to this last person the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with what is my own? Or is your (G)eye [j]envious because I am [k]generous?’ 16 So (H)the last shall be first, and the first, last.”
Death, Resurrection Foretold
17 (I)As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the road He said to them, 18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man (J)will be [l]handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, 19 and they (K)will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and flog and crucify, and on (L)the third day He will be raised up.”
Request for Preferred Treatment
20 (M)Then the mother of (N)the [m]sons of Zebedee came to [n]Jesus with her sons, (O)bowing down and making a request of Him. 21 And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She *said to Him, “Say that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine (P)shall sit, one at Your right, and one at Your left.” 22 But Jesus replied, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able (Q)to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.” 23 He *said to them, “(R)My cup you shall drink; but to sit at My right and at My left is not Mine to give, (S)but it is for those for whom it has been (T)prepared by My Father.”
24 And after hearing this, the other ten disciples became indignant with the two brothers. 25 (U)But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles domineer over them, and [o]those in high position exercise authority over them. 26 It [p]is not this way among you, (V)but whoever wants to become [q]prominent among you shall be your servant, 27 and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave; 28 just as (W)the Son of Man (X)did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [r]life as a ransom for many.”
Sight for Those Who Are Blind
29 (Y)As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him. 30 And two people who were blind, sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, (Z)have mercy on us, (AA)Son of David!” 31 But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more, “Lord, (AB)Son of David, have mercy on us!” 32 And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” 33 They *said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.” 34 Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.
