2 当 希 律 王 的 时 候 ， 耶 稣 生 在 犹 太 的 伯 利 恒 。 有 几 个 博 士 从 东 方 来 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 说 ：
2 那 生 下 来 作 犹 太 人 之 王 的 在 那 里 ？ 我 们 在 东 方 看 见 他 的 星 ， 特 来 拜 他 。
3 希 律 王 听 见 了 ， 就 心 里 不 安 ； 耶 路 撒 冷 合 城 的 人 也 都 不 安 。
4 他 就 召 齐 了 祭 司 长 和 民 间 的 文 士 ， 问 他 们 说 ： 基 督 当 生 在 何 处 ？
5 他 们 回 答 说 ： 在 犹 太 的 伯 利 恒 。 因 为 有 先 知 记 着 ， 说 ：
6 犹 大 地 的 伯 利 恒 阿 ， 你 在 犹 大 诸 城 中 并 不 是 最 小 的 ； 因 为 将 来 有 一 位 君 王 要 从 你 那 里 出 来 ， 牧 养 我 以 色 列 民 。
7 当 下 ， 希 律 暗 暗 的 召 了 博 士 来 ， 细 问 那 星 是 甚 麽 时 候 出 现 的 ，
8 就 差 他 们 往 伯 利 恒 去 ， 说 ： 你 们 去 仔 细 寻 访 那 小 孩 子 ， 寻 到 了 ， 就 来 报 信 ， 我 也 好 去 拜 他 。
9 他 们 听 见 王 的 话 就 去 了 。 在 东 方 所 看 见 的 那 星 忽 然 在 他 们 前 头 行 ， 直 行 到 小 孩 子 的 地 方 ， 就 在 上 头 停 住 了 。
10 他 们 看 见 那 星 ， 就 大 大 的 欢 喜 ；
11 进 了 房 子 ， 看 见 小 孩 子 和 他 母 亲 马 利 亚 ， 就 俯 伏 拜 那 小 孩 子 ， 揭 开 宝 盒 ， 拿 黄 金 、 乳 香 、 没 药 为 礼 物 献 给 他 。
12 博 士 因 为 在 梦 中 被 主 指 示 不 要 回 去 见 希 律 ， 就 从 别 的 路 回 本 地 去 了 。
13 他 们 去 後 ， 有 主 的 使 者 向 约 瑟 梦 中 显 现 ， 说 ： 起 来 ！ 带 着 小 孩 子 同 他 母 亲 逃 往 埃 及 ， 住 在 那 里 ， 等 我 吩 咐 你 ； 因 为 希 律 必 寻 找 小 孩 子 ， 要 除 灭 他 。
14 约 瑟 就 起 来 ， 夜 间 带 着 小 孩 子 和 他 母 亲 往 埃 及 去 ，
15 住 在 那 里 ， 直 到 希 律 死 了 。 这 是 要 应 验 主 藉 先 知 所 说 的 话 ， 说 ： 我 从 埃 及 召 出 我 的 儿 子 来 。
16 希 律 见 自 己 被 博 士 愚 弄 ， 就 大 大 发 怒 ， 差 人 将 伯 利 恒 城 里 并 四 境 所 有 的 男 孩 ， 照 着 他 向 博 士 仔 细 查 问 的 时 候 ， 凡 两 岁 以 里 的 ， 都 杀 尽 了 。
17 这 就 应 了 先 知 耶 利 米 的 话 ， 说 ：
18 在 拉 玛 听 见 号 啕 大 哭 的 声 音 ， 是 拉 结 哭 他 儿 女 ， 不 肯 受 安 慰 ， 因 为 他 们 都 不 在 了 。
19 希 律 死 了 以 後 ， 有 主 的 使 者 在 埃 及 向 约 瑟 梦 中 显 现 ， 说 ：
20 起 来 ！ 带 着 小 孩 子 和 他 母 亲 往 以 色 列 地 去 ， 因 为 要 害 小 孩 子 性 命 的 人 已 经 死 了 。
21 约 瑟 就 起 来 ， 把 小 孩 子 和 他 母 亲 带 到 以 色 列 地 去 ；
22 只 因 听 见 亚 基 老 接 着 他 父 亲 希 律 作 了 犹 太 王 ， 就 怕 往 那 里 去 ， 又 在 梦 中 被 主 指 示 ， 便 往 加 利 利 境 内 去 了 ，
23 到 了 一 座 城 ， 名 叫 拿 撒 勒 ， 就 住 在 那 里 。 这 是 要 应 验 先 知 所 说 ， 他 将 称 为 拿 撒 勒 人 的 话 了 。

智者来朝拜
2 希律王执政期间，耶稣降生在犹太的伯利恒城。
当时有几位智者[a]从东方来到耶路撒冷， 2 问道：“那生来做犹太人之王的在哪里呢？我们在东方看见祂的星，特来朝拜祂。”
3 希律王听后，心里不安，全城的人都感到不安。 4 希律王就召来祭司长和律法教师，问他们：“基督在哪里降生呢？”
5 他们回答说：“在犹太的伯利恒，因为先知这样记载，
6 “‘犹大地区的伯利恒啊！
你在犹大各城中并不是最小的，
因为有一位君王要从你那里出来，
牧养我的以色列子民。’”
7 于是，希律暗中召见那几位智者，仔细查问那星出现的准确时间， 8 然后派他们去伯利恒，并吩咐道：“你们去仔细寻访那个小孩，找到了，就回来报信，我也好去朝拜祂。”
9 他们听了王的吩咐，就去了。忽然，那颗曾在东方出现的星又出现在他们前面，引领他们来到小孩耶稣所在的地方，便停下来。 10 他们看见那颗星，喜出望外。
11 他们进了屋子，看见孩子和祂母亲玛丽亚，就俯伏在地上拜祂，并打开盛宝物的盒子献上黄金、乳香和没药作礼物。 12 他们在梦中得到指示不可回希律那里，便改道返回了家乡。
逃往埃及
13 他们离开之后，主的天使在梦中向约瑟显现，说：“起来，带着小孩子和祂母亲逃往埃及，住在那里等候我的通知，因为希律要寻找这孩子，杀害祂。” 14 于是，约瑟起来带着孩子和祂母亲连夜逃往埃及， 15 并在那里一直住到希律死了。这就应验了主借着先知所说的话：“我把儿子从埃及召出来。”
16 希律见自己被智者愚弄，大为恼怒，便照着智者所说的时间推算，下令把伯利恒附近两岁以下的男孩杀光。 17 这正应验了耶利米先知的话：
18 “在拉玛有痛哭哀号的声音，
是拉结在为儿女哀痛，
不肯接受安慰，
因为他们都死了！”
定居拿撒勒
19 希律死后，主的天使在梦中向在埃及的约瑟显现，说： 20 “起来，带着孩子和祂母亲回以色列去吧！因为要杀害孩子的人已经死了。” 21 约瑟就起来，带着孩子和祂母亲返回以色列。
22 但约瑟听闻亚基劳继承父亲希律的王位统治犹太，就不敢回犹太。这时，他在梦中得到主的指示，便前往加利利地区， 23 定居在拿撒勒镇。这应验了先知的话：“祂将被称为拿撒勒人。”

1 When (A)[a]Jesus then was born at Bethlehem in [b]Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came [c]Wise men from the East to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is the King of the Jews that is born? for we have seen his star in the East, and are come to worship him.
3 When king Herod heard this, he was [d]troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And gathering together all the [e]chief Priests and [f]Scribes of the people, he asked of them, where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, At Bethlehem in Judea: for so it is written by the Prophet,
6 (B)And thou Bethlehem in the land of Judah, art not the [g]least among the Princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come the governor that [h]shall feed my people Israel.
7 Then Herod privily called the Wise men, and diligently inquired of them the time of the star that appeared,
8 And sent them to Bethlehem, saying, Go, and search diligently for the babe: and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come also, and worship him.
9 ¶ So when they had heard the king, they departed: and lo, the star which they had seen in the East, went before them, till it came and stood over the place where the babe was.
10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced with an exceeding great joy,
11 And went into the house, and found the babe with Mary his mother, and [i]fell down, and worshipped him, and opened their [j]treasures, and presented unto him gifts, even gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And after they were [k]warned of God in a dream, that they should not go again to Herod, they returned into their country another way.
13 ¶ [l]After their departure, behold, the Angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the babe and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be there till I bring thee word, for Herod will seek the babe to destroy him.
14 So he arose and took the babe and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt.
15 And was there unto the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled, which is spoken of the Lord by the (C)Prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 ¶ Then Herod, seeing that he was mocked of the Wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the male children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the Wise men.
17 Then was that fulfilled which is spoken [m]by the Prophet Jeremiah, saying,
18 (D)In Ramah was [n]a voice heard, mourning, and weeping, and great howling: [o]Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they were not.
19 [p]And when Herod was dead, behold, an Angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Saying, Arise, and take the babe and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the babe’s life.
21 Then he arose up, and took the babe and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: yet after he was warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee.
23 And went and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Prophets, which was, That he should be called a Nazarite.
