智者来朝拜
2 希律王执政期间，耶稣降生在犹太的伯利恒城。
当时有几位智者[a]从东方来到耶路撒冷， 2 问道：“那生来做犹太人之王的在哪里呢？我们在东方看见祂的星，特来朝拜祂。”
3 希律王听后，心里不安，全城的人都感到不安。 4 希律王就召来祭司长和律法教师，问他们：“基督在哪里降生呢？”
5 他们回答说：“在犹太的伯利恒，因为先知这样记载，
6 “‘犹大地区的伯利恒啊！
你在犹大各城中并不是最小的，
因为有一位君王要从你那里出来，
牧养我的以色列子民。’”
7 于是，希律暗中召见那几位智者，仔细查问那星出现的准确时间， 8 然后派他们去伯利恒，并吩咐道：“你们去仔细寻访那个小孩，找到了，就回来报信，我也好去朝拜祂。”
9 他们听了王的吩咐，就去了。忽然，那颗曾在东方出现的星又出现在他们前面，引领他们来到小孩耶稣所在的地方，便停下来。 10 他们看见那颗星，喜出望外。
11 他们进了屋子，看见孩子和祂母亲玛丽亚，就俯伏在地上拜祂，并打开盛宝物的盒子献上黄金、乳香和没药作礼物。 12 他们在梦中得到指示不可回希律那里，便改道返回了家乡。
逃往埃及
13 他们离开之后，主的天使在梦中向约瑟显现，说：“起来，带着小孩子和祂母亲逃往埃及，住在那里等候我的通知，因为希律要寻找这孩子，杀害祂。” 14 于是，约瑟起来带着孩子和祂母亲连夜逃往埃及， 15 并在那里一直住到希律死了。这就应验了主借着先知所说的话：“我把儿子从埃及召出来。”
16 希律见自己被智者愚弄，大为恼怒，便照着智者所说的时间推算，下令把伯利恒附近两岁以下的男孩杀光。 17 这正应验了耶利米先知的话：
18 “在拉玛有痛哭哀号的声音，
是拉结在为儿女哀痛，
不肯接受安慰，
因为他们都死了！”
定居拿撒勒
19 希律死后，主的天使在梦中向在埃及的约瑟显现，说： 20 “起来，带着孩子和祂母亲回以色列去吧！因为要杀害孩子的人已经死了。” 21 约瑟就起来，带着孩子和祂母亲返回以色列。
22 但约瑟听闻亚基劳继承父亲希律的王位统治犹太，就不敢回犹太。这时，他在梦中得到主的指示，便前往加利利地区， 23 定居在拿撒勒镇。这应验了先知的话：“祂将被称为拿撒勒人。”

Kubanga twalaba emmunyeenye ye nga tuli mu buvanjuba, era tuzze okumusinza.”
3 Awo Kabaka Kerode bwe yabiwulira ne bimweraliikiriza nnyo, era ne bonna abaali mu Yerusaalemi. 4 N’ayita bakabona abakulu bonna n’abawandiisi b’amateeka n’abeebuuzaako ekifo Kristo gye yali agenda okuzaalibwa. 5 (C)Ne bamuddamu nti, “Mu Besirekemu eky’omu Buyudaaya, kyawandiikibwa nnabbi nti,
6 (D)“ ‘Naawe Besirekemu ekya Yuda,
toli mutono mu balangira ba Yuda,
kubanga omufuzi aliva mu ggwe,
alifuga abantu bange Isirayiri.’ ”
7 Awo Kerode n’atumya Abagezigezi kyama, n’ababuuza ebiro emmunyeenye bye yalabikiramu. 8 N’abasindika e Besirekemu ng’agamba nti, “Mugende mubuulirize ebikwata ku mwana. Bwe mumulaba, mukomeewo muntegeeze, nange ŋŋende musinze!”
9 Bwe baamala okuwulira Kabaka bye yabagamba ne bagenda. Bwe baafuluma, emmunyeenye eri gye baalaba ebuvanjuba n’eddamu okubalabikira n’okubakulembera, okutuusa lwe yayimirira waggulu Omwana w’ali. 10 Bwe baalaba emmunyeenye ng’eyimiridde, essanyu lyabwe ne libeera lingi nnyo! 11 (E)Bwe baayingira mu nnyumba[a] ne balaba Omwana ne Maliyamu nnyina ne bavuunama ne basinza Omwana. Ne basumulula ensawo zaabwe, ne bamutonera ebirabo, zaabu, n’obubaane n’omugavu. 12 (F)Awo bwe baalabulibwa mu kirooto baleme kuddayo wa Kerode, bwe batyo ne baddayo ewaabwe nga bayita mu kkubo eddala.
Okuddukira e Misiri
13 (G)Awo abagezigezi bwe baamala okugenda, malayika wa Mukama n’alabikira Yusufu mu kirooto n’amugamba nti, “Golokoka oddusize Omwana ne nnyina e Misiri, mubeere eyo okutuusa lwe ndibalagira okudda. Kubanga Kerode ajja kunoonya Omwana ng’ayagala okumutta.” 14 Ekiro ekyo n’asituka n’atwala Omwana ne nnyina e Misiri. 15 (H)Ne babeera eyo okutuusa Kerode bwe yafa. Mukama kye yayogerera mu nnabbi we ne kituukirira, bwe yagamba nti:
“Nayita Omwana wange okuva mu Misiri.”

16 Kerode bwe yalaba ng’Abagezigezi banyoomye ekiragiro kye, n’asunguwala nnyo, n’atuma abaserikale e Besirekemu ne mu byalo byakyo batte abaana bonna aboobulenzi ab’emyaka ebiri n’abatannagiweza, ng’asinziira ku bbanga abagezigezi lye baali bamutegeezeza mwe baalabira emmunyeenye. 17 Awo ekigambo nnabbi Yeremiya kye yayogera ne kiryoka kituukirira ng’agamba nti,
18 (I)“Eddoboozi lyawulirwa mu Laama,
okukuba emiranga n’okukungubaga okunene,
nga Laakeeri akaabira abaana be,
nga tewakyali asobola kumuwooyawooya,
kubanga bonna baweddewo.”

2 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

3 Mfumu Herode atamva zimenezi, anavutika mu mtima kwambiri pamodzi ndi anthu onse a mu Yerusalemu. 4 Ndipo anayitanitsa anthu onse, akulu ansembe ndi aphunzitsi amalamulo nawafunsa kuti, “Kodi Khristu adzabadwira kuti?” 5 Ndipo anamuyankha kuti, “Ku Betelehemu wa ku Yudeya chifukwa izi ndi zimene mneneri analemba kuti,
6 “ ‘Koma iwe Betelehemu, chigawo cha Yudeya,
sindiwe wamngʼonongʼono mwa olamulira a Yudeya;
pakuti otsogolera adzachokera mwa iwe,
amene adzaweta anthu anga Aisraeli.’ ”
7 Pomwepo Herode anawayitanira mseri Anzeruwo nawafunsitsa nthawi yeniyeni yomwe nyenyeziyo inaoneka. 8 Ndipo anawatumiza ku Betelehemu nawawuza kuti, “Pitani mukafufuze za mwanayo mosamalitsa. Ndipo mukamupeza mudzandiwuze kuti inenso ndikamupembedze.”
9 Atamva mawu a mfumu, ananyamuka ulendo wawo, ndipo taonani nyenyezi anayiona kummawa ija, inawatsogolera mpaka inayima pamwamba pa nyumba yomwe munali mwanayo. 10 Pamene iwo anaona nyenyeziyo, anasangalala kwambiri. 11 Pofika ku nyumbayo, anaona mwanayo pamodzi ndi amayi ake Mariya, ndipo anagwada namulambira Iye. Pomwepo anamasula chuma chawo ndi kupereka mphatso zawo za ndalama zagolide, lubani ndi mure. 12 Ndipo atachenjezedwa mʼmaloto kuti asapitenso kwa Herode, anabwerera ku dziko la kwawo podzera njira ina.
Athawira ku Igupto
13 Atachoka, taonani mngelo wa Ambuye anaonekera kwa Yosefe mʼmaloto nati, “Tadzuka, tenga mwanayo pamodzi ndi amayi ake ndipo muthawire ku Igupto. Mukakhale kumeneko mpaka nditakuwuza pakuti Herode adzafunafuna mwanayo kuti amuphe.” 14 Atadzuka, Yosefe anatenga mwanayo ndi amayi ake usiku omwewo napita ku Igupto, 15 nakhala kumeneko mpaka Herode atamwalira. Ndipo zinakwaniritsidwa zomwe ananena Ambuye mwa mneneri kuti, “Ndinayitana mwana wanga kuti atuluke mu Igupto.”
Kuphedwa kwa Ana mʼBetelehemu
16 Herode atazindikira kuti Anzeruwo anamupusitsa, anakwiya kwambiri. Ndipo anatumiza anthu kukapha ana onse aamuna a mʼBetelehemu ndi midzi yozungulira amene anali a zaka ziwiri kapena zocheperapo, molingana ndi nthawi imene Anzeruwo anamuwuza. 17 Pamenepo, zimene ananena mneneri Yeremiya zinakwaniritsidwa:
18 “Kulira kukumveka ku Rama,
kubuma ndi kulira kwakukulu,
Rakele akulirira ana ake;
sakutonthozeka,
chifukwa ana akewo palibe.”
Abwerera ku Nazareti
19 Atamwalira Herode, mngelo wa Ambuye anaonekera kwa Yosefe mʼmaloto ku Igupto 20 nanena kuti, “Nyamuka, tenga mwanayo ndi amayi ake ndipo mupite ku dziko la Israeli, popeza amene anafuna moyo wa mwanayo anamwalira.”
21 Tsono Yosefe atadzuka anatenga mwanayo ndi amayi ake kupita ku dziko la Israeli. 22 Koma atamva kuti Arikelao akulamulira mu Yudeya mʼmalo mwa abambo ake, Herode, anaopa kupitako. Atachenjezedwa mʼmaloto, anapita ku Galileya, 23 ndipo anakakhazikika mu mzinda wa Nazareti. Pamenepo zinakwaniritsidwa zonenedwa ndi aneneri kuti, “Adzatchedwa Mnazareti.”
