谁是更大的
18 那时，门徒们前来问耶稣：“在天国里究竟谁更大？”
2 耶稣叫来一个小孩子，让他站在他们当中， 3 说：“我确实地告诉你们：你们如果不回转[a]，变得像小孩子一样，绝不能进入天国。 4 所以，谁像这小孩子自我降卑，谁在天国里就更大。 5 无论谁奉我的名接受这样一个小孩子，就是接受我。
6 “但无论谁使信我的这些卑微人中的一个绊倒，对那人来说，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石[b]，沉到深海里。 7 这世界有祸了，因为有使人绊脚的事；要知道，那些使人绊脚的事必然出现，不过使它出现的人有祸了。 8 如果你的一只手或一只脚使你绊倒，就把它砍下来丢掉！对你来说，缺一只手或缺一只脚进入永生[c]，要比手脚双全被丢进永远的火里好多了。 9 如果你的一只眼使你绊倒，就把它剜出来丢掉！对你来说，缺一只眼进入永生[d]，要比双眼齐全被丢进烈火的地狱里好多了。
迷羊的比喻
10 “你们要注意，不可轻视这些卑微人中的一个。我告诉你们：他们的天使在天上常常看见我天父的面。 11 要知道人子来，是为了拯救迷失的人。[e] 12 你们怎么看以下的事？如果一个人有一百只羊，其中一只迷失了，难道他不把九十九只留在山上，去寻找那一只迷失的吗？ 13 如果找到了，我确实地告诉你们：他为这一只羊欢喜，会比为那九十九只没有迷失的羊更欢喜。 14 照样，你们[f]在天上的父也不愿意失去这些卑微人中的一个。
挽回弟兄
15 “如果你的弟兄对你[g]犯了罪，你就要去，只在你和他之间责备他。如果他听你的，你就赢得了你的弟兄； 16 如果他不听，你就另外带一个或两个人一起去，为要使“任何事，凭两个或三个见证人的口，才能成立。”[h] 17 如果他不听他们的，就告诉教会；如果他连教会也不听，就应当把他看做像外邦人或税吏一样。 18 我确实地告诉你们：你们在地上所捆绑的，在天上将是已经被捆绑了的；你们在地上所释放的，在天上将是被释放了的。 19 我再确实地告诉你们：如果你们当中有两个人，在地上同心地为任何事祈求，我在天上的父就会为你们成全； 20 因为哪里有两三个人奉我的名聚集，我就在哪里，在他们当中。”
恶仆的比喻
21 那时，彼得前来问耶稣：“主啊，如果弟兄对我犯罪，我该饶恕多少次呢？到七次可以吗？”
22 耶稣对他说：“我告诉你：不是七次，而是七十个七次[i]。 23 为此，天国就好比一个君王，要与他的奴仆们清算账目。 24 他开始算的时候，一个欠了一千万两银子[j]的奴仆被带到他面前。 25 因为那奴仆没有可偿还的，主人就下令把他和他的妻子儿女，以及他所拥有的一切都卖掉来偿还。
26 “那奴仆就俯伏拜他，说：‘[k]请宽容我吧，将来我会把一切偿还给你。’ 27 那奴仆的主人动了怜悯之心，把他释放了，并且免了他的债。
28 “但那奴仆出去以后，遇见一个与他同做奴仆的；这人欠他一百个银币[l]。他就抓住这人，掐住这人的喉咙，说：‘把欠我的还给我。’
29 “这人就俯伏在地[m]央求他，说：‘请宽容我吧，我会还给你的。’ 30 可是他不肯，反而把这人投进监狱，直到这人能还清所欠的债。 31 那些与他同做奴仆的看见所发生的事，就极其忧伤，去把一切都告诉他们的主人。
32 “于是主人把那奴仆叫来，对他说：‘你这恶奴！因为你求我，我就免了你所有的债。 33 难道你不也该怜悯与你同做奴仆的，像我怜悯了你一样吗？’ 34 主人就发怒，把他交给掌刑官，直到他能还清所欠的一切债。 35 如果你们每个人不从心里饶恕自己的弟兄[n]，我的天父也会照样对待你们。”

Lärjungarna diskuterar vem av dem som är störst
18 Vid den tiden kom lärjungarna till Jesus för att fråga vem som egentligen var störst i himmelriket.
2 Jesus bad då ett litet barn komma fram och lät sedan den lille slå sig ner bland dem
3 och sa: Om ni inte vänder er från era synder till Gud och blir som små barn, kommer ni aldrig in i himmelriket.
4 Därför, den som gör sig liten och ringa som det här barnet, är den störste i himmelriket.
5 Och den av er som tar emot ett sådant litet barn därför att det tillhör mig, han tar emot mig.
6 Men om någon av er leder en av dessa små vilse, som tror på mig, så skulle det vara bättre att den personen fick en sten bunden runt halsen och blev kastad i havet.
Jesus varnar för frestelse
7 Ve världen för all dess ondska! Frestelser till synd är oundvikliga, men ve den människa som medverkar till det.
8 Därför: om din hand eller fot får dig att synda, så hugg av den och kasta den ifrån dig. Det är bättre att komma till himlen utan din ena hand, än att vara i helvetet med både händer och fötter.
9 Och om ditt öga får dig att synda, så riv ut det och kasta det ifrån dig, för det är bättre att komma in i himlen enögd än att kastas i helvetet med båda ögonen i behåll.
Se inte ner på andra
10 Se till att ni inte föraktar ett enda av dessa små barn. För jag säger er att deras änglar har alltid tillträde till min Far i himlen.
11 Människosonen, kom för att frälsa de förlorade.
12 Vad gör en man som har hundra får när ett har gått vilse? Lämnar han inte de nittionio andra och går ut bland bergen för att söka efter det som sprungit bort?
13 Och när han äntligen finner det gläder han sig inte mer över det än över de nittionio andra som är trygga därhemma!
14 På samma sätt vill inte min Far att någon enda av dessa små går förlorad.
Om att gå till rätta med varandra
15 Om din broder har gjort något orätt mot dig, så gå till honom enskilt och påpeka hans fel. Om han lyssnar på dig och bekänner har du vunnit tillbaka din broder.
16 Men om han inte gör det, så ta med dig en eller två personer och försök att tillsammans med dem få honom på bättre tankar.
17 Om han fortfarande vägrar att lyssna ska du ta upp fallet i församlingen. Och om församlingen ger dig rätt, men han inte vill acceptera det, så behandla honom som gudlös och otroende.
18 Och jag säger er: vad ni binder på jorden är bundet i himlen, och vad ni löser på jorden är löst i himlen.
19 Jag säger er också detta: om två av er kommer överens om att be om något här på jorden, så ska min Far i himlen göra det för er.
20 För där två eller tre samlas därför att de tillhör mig, där ska jag vara med dem.
Jesus undervisar om förlåtelse
21 Petrus kom nu fram till honom och frågade: Herre, hur ofta måste jag förlåta en broder som gjort något orätt? Räcker sju gånger?
22 Då svarade Jesus: Nej, sjuttio gånger sju gånger! Och sedan tillade han:
23 Man kan därför likna himmelriket vid en kung som ville ha redovisning av sina tjänstemän.
24 Då visade det sig att en av dem var skyldig honom många miljoner.
25 När han inte kunde betala tillbaka pengarna befallde kungen att han skulle säljas tillsammans med sin hustru och sina barn och allt han ägde.
26 Men mannen kastade sig förtvivlad ner för fötterna på kungen och bad: 'Herre, låt mig bara få tid på mig, så ska jag betala alltsammans.'
27 Då kände kungen medlidande med honom och släppte honom och efterskänkte hans skuld.
28 Men så fort han var fri gick han till en av sina medarbetare, som var skyldig honom hundra kronor, tog struptag på honom och krävde tillbaka pengarna.
29 Mannen föll då ner inför honom och sa: 'Jag ska betala allt, om du bara kan ge dig till tåls!'
30 Men hans fordringsägare kunde inte vänta. Han arresterade honom och satte honom i fängelse tills hela skulden blev betald.
31 Då gick mannens vänner till kungen och berättade vad som hänt.
32 Och kungen kallade till sig mannen, som han hade förlåtit, och sa: 'Din hårdhjärtade usling! Här efterskänker jag denna stora skuld bara för att du bad mig om det.
33 Borde du då inte ha varit lika barmhärtig mot din medarbetare som jag var mot dig?'
34 Sedan sände den uppretade kungen iväg mannen till tortyrkammaren, där han fick sitta tills han hade betalt vartenda öre han var skyldig.
35 På samma sätt kommer min himmelske Far att göra med er om ni vägrar att verkligen förlåta era bröder.

18 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
12 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

Who Is the Greatest?(A)
18 At (B)that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little (C)child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, (D)unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 (E)Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 (F)Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.
Jesus Warns of Offenses(G)
6 (H)“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 7 Woe to the world because of [a]offenses! For (I)offenses must come, but (J)woe to that man by whom the offense comes!
8 (K)“If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. 9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into [b]hell fire.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep(L)
10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven (M)their angels always (N)see the face of My Father who is in heaven. 11 (O)For[c] the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.
12 (P)“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the (Q)will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
Dealing with a Sinning Brother
15 “Moreover (R)if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, (S)you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that (T)‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a (U)heathen and a tax collector.
18 “Assuredly, I say to you, (V)whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
19 (W)“Again[d] I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, (X)it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered (Y)together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant
21 Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? (Z)Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, (AA)up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. 23 Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. 25 But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded (AB)that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. 26 The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ 27 Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt.
28 “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ 29 So his fellow servant fell down [e]at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you [f]all.’ 30 And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. 31 So when his fellow servants saw what had been done, they were very grieved, and came and told their master all that had been done. 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant!
