17 耶稣对他说：“约拿的儿子西门啊，你是有福的！因为这件事不是属血肉的人告诉你的，而是我天上的父启示你的。 18 我告诉你，你是彼得[a]，我要在这磐石上建立我的教会，阴间的势力[b]不能胜过它。 19 我要把天国的钥匙交给你。凡你在地上捆绑的，在天上也要捆绑；凡你在地上释放的，在天上也要释放。”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood,(A) but by my Father in heaven.(B) 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a](C) and on this rock I will build my church,(D) and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys(E) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[c] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[d] loosed in heaven.”(F)
