9 耶稣又对他们说：“我确实地告诉你们：站在这里的有些人，在还没有尝到死的滋味之前，必定见到神的国带着权能来临。”
登山变相
2 过了六天，耶稣只带着彼得、雅各、约翰，领他们悄悄地上了一座高山。在他们面前，耶稣变了形像。 3 他的衣服变得光亮耀眼，极其洁白[a]，地上漂布的人无法漂得那样白。 4 这时候，以利亚与摩西一起向他们显现，并且和耶稣谈话。
5 彼得对耶稣说：“拉比，我们在这里真好！让我们来搭三座帐幕，一座为你，一座为摩西，一座为以利亚。” 6 其实彼得不知道说什么才好，因为他们都非常害怕。
7 这时候，有一朵云彩出现笼罩他们，并且有声音从云中传来：
“这是我的爱子，
你们当听从他！”
8 于是门徒们环视周围，忽然间，再也看不到别的人，只有耶稣与他们在一起。
9 他们下山的时候，耶稣吩咐他们，在人子从死人中复活之前，不要把所看到的告诉任何人。 10 他们牢记这话，互相谈论“从死人中复活”是什么意思。
11 他们问耶稣，说：“经文士们为什么说以利亚必须先来呢？”

14 他们回到其他的门徒那里，看见一大群人围着他们，而且有几个经文士正在和他们辩论。 15 众人一见耶稣，都大吃一惊，就跑过去欢迎他。 16 耶稣问[b]：“你们和他们在辩论什么？”
17 人群中有一个人回答：“老师，我带了我的儿子到你这里。他有一个哑巴的邪灵附身。 18 无论在哪里，只要邪灵抓住他，把他摔倒在地，他就口吐白沫，紧咬牙关，全身僵硬。我告诉你的门徒们，要他们驱赶那邪灵，可是他们不能。”
19 耶稣回答他们，说：“唉，这个不信的世代！我还要和你们在一起多久呢？我还要容忍你们多久呢？把孩子带到我这里来吧！” 20 他们就把他带到耶稣面前来。邪灵一见耶稣，立刻使孩子剧烈地抽疯，倒在地上打滚，口吐白沫。 21 耶稣问孩子的父亲：“这事发生在他身上有多久了？”
他回答说：“从小就这样。 22 邪灵经常把他扔进火里或水里，要害死他。但你如果能做什么，就求你怜悯我们，帮助我们！”
23 耶稣对他说：“‘如果你能’？[c]——对信的人，一切都能。”
24 那孩子的父亲立刻[d]喊着说：“[e]我信！但我的不信之处，求你帮助！”
25 耶稣看见众人都跑上来，就斥责那污灵，说：“你这聋哑的邪灵，我命令你：从他里面出来，不可再进去！”
26 邪灵喊叫一声，使孩子剧烈地抽疯，就出来了。孩子变得像死人那样，所以许多人说：“他死了。” 27 但是，耶稣握着他的手，扶他起来，他就站起来了。
28 耶稣进了房子，他的门徒们就悄悄地问他：“我们为什么不能赶出那邪灵呢？”
29 耶稣对他们说：“对这一类的邪灵，如果不藉着祷告和禁食[f]，就不能赶出去。”
再次预言受难
30 他们离开那里，经过加利利，耶稣不愿意让人知道。 31 那时，他教导自己的门徒们，对他们说：“人子被交在[g]人的手中，他们要杀害他。然后被杀之后，在第三天[h]他要复活。” 32 可是门徒们不明白这话，又不敢问他。
谁是最大的
33 他们来到了迦百农，进了屋子，耶稣问门徒们：“你们在路上讨论什么呢？” 34 门徒们却不做声，因为他们在路上彼此争论谁更大。 35 耶稣坐下，叫十二使徒[i]来，对他们说：“如果有人想做首先的，他就该做众人当中最后的，做大家的仆人。” 36 耶稣找来一个小孩子，让他站在他们当中，又把他搂在怀中，对门徒们说： 37 “无论谁奉我的名接受这样一个小孩子，就是接受我；接受我的，不是接受我，而是接受差派我来的那一位。”
奉耶稣的名
38 约翰说：“老师，我们看见一个人[j]奉你的名驱赶鬼魔，我们就去阻止他，因为他不是跟从我们的。”
39 耶稣说：“不要阻止他。因为没有人奉我的名行了神迹以后，会立即诽谤我。 40 不反对我们的，就是支持我们的。 41 如果有人因为你们属于基督，就奉我的[k]名给你们一杯水喝，我确实地告诉你们：他绝不会失去他的报偿。
耶稣的警告
42 “无论谁使信我的这些卑微人中的一个[l]绊倒，对那人来说，脖子上拴着大磨石[m]，被丢进海里反而更好。 43 如果你的一只手使你绊倒，就把它砍掉！对你来说，缺一只手进入永生[n]，要比双手齐全下地狱，到那永不熄灭的火里好多了。 44 在那里
45 如果你的一只脚使你绊倒，就把它砍掉！对你来说，缺一只脚进入永生[q]，要比双脚齐全被丢进地狱，到那永不熄灭的火里[r]好多了。 46 在那里
47 如果你的一只眼使你绊倒，就把它挖出来！对你来说，缺一只眼进入神的国，要比双眼齐全被丢进[u]地狱好多了。 48 在那里
‘虫是不死的，
火是不灭的。’[v]
49 要知道，每个人都将被火腌成咸的[w]。 50 盐是好的，但如果那盐也不咸了，还能用什么来调味呢？你们里面要有盐，要彼此和睦。”

9 También les dijo: De cierto os digo que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte hasta que hayan visto el reino de Dios venido con poder.
La transfiguración
(Mt. 17.1-13; Lc. 9.28-36)
2 Seis días después, Jesús tomó a Pedro, a Jacobo y a Juan, y los llevó aparte solos a un monte alto; y se transfiguró delante de ellos.(A) 3 Y sus vestidos se volvieron resplandecientes, muy blancos, como la nieve, tanto que ningún lavador en la tierra los puede hacer tan blancos. 4 Y les apareció Elías con Moisés, que hablaban con Jesús. 5 Entonces Pedro dijo a Jesús: Maestro, bueno es para nosotros que estemos aquí; y hagamos tres enramadas, una para ti, otra para Moisés, y otra para Elías. 6 Porque no sabía lo que hablaba, pues estaban espantados. 7 Entonces vino una nube que les hizo sombra, y desde la nube una voz que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado;(B) a él oíd. 8 Y luego, cuando miraron, no vieron más a nadie consigo, sino a Jesús solo.

Jesús sana a un muchacho endemoniado

14 Cuando llegó a donde estaban los discípulos, vio una gran multitud alrededor de ellos, y escribas que disputaban con ellos. 15 Y en seguida toda la gente, viéndole, se asombró, y corriendo a él, le saludaron. 16 Él les preguntó: ¿Qué disputáis con ellos? 17 Y respondiendo uno de la multitud, dijo: Maestro, traje a ti a mi hijo, que tiene un espíritu mudo, 18 el cual, dondequiera que le toma, le sacude; y echa espumarajos, y cruje los dientes, y se va secando; y dije a tus discípulos que lo echasen fuera, y no pudieron. 19 Y respondiendo él, les dijo: ¡Oh generación incrédula! ¿Hasta cuándo he de estar con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os he de soportar? Y él dijo: Desde niño. 22 Y muchas veces le echa en el fuego y en el agua, para matarle; pero si puedes hacer algo, ten misericordia de nosotros, y ayúdanos. 23 Jesús le dijo: Si puedes creer, al que cree todo le es posible. 24 E inmediatamente el padre del muchacho clamó y dijo: Creo; ayuda mi incredulidad. 25 Y cuando Jesús vio que la multitud se agolpaba, reprendió al espíritu inmundo, diciéndole: Espíritu mudo y sordo, yo te mando, sal de él, y no entres más en él. 26 Entonces el espíritu, clamando y sacudiéndole con violencia, salió; y él quedó como muerto, de modo que muchos decían: Está muerto. 27 Pero Jesús, tomándole de la mano, le enderezó; y se levantó. 28 Cuando él entró en casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron aparte: ¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos echarle fuera? 29 Y les dijo: Este género con nada puede salir, sino con oración y ayuno.
Jesús anuncia otra vez su muerte

30 Habiendo salido de allí, caminaron por Galilea; y no quería que nadie lo supiese. 31 Porque enseñaba a sus discípulos, y les decía: El Hijo del Hombre será entregado en manos de hombres, y le matarán; pero después de muerto, resucitará al tercer día. 32 Pero ellos no entendían esta palabra, y tenían miedo de preguntarle.
¿Quién es el mayor?

33 Y llegó a Capernaum; y cuando estuvo en casa, les preguntó: ¿Qué disputabais entre vosotros en el camino? 34 Mas ellos callaron; porque en el camino habían disputado entre sí, quién había de ser el mayor.(D) 35 Entonces él se sentó y llamó a los doce, y les dijo: Si alguno quiere ser el primero, será el postrero de todos, y el servidor de todos.(E) 36 Y tomó a un niño, y lo puso en medio de ellos; y tomándole en sus brazos, les dijo: 37 El que reciba en mi nombre a un niño como este, me recibe a mí; y el que a mí me recibe, no me recibe a mí sino al que me envió.(F)

38 Juan le respondió diciendo: Maestro, hemos visto a uno que en tu nombre echaba fuera demonios, pero él no nos sigue; y se lo prohibimos, porque no nos seguía. 39 Pero Jesús dijo: No se lo prohibáis; porque ninguno hay que haga milagro en mi nombre, que luego pueda decir mal de mí. 40 Porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.(G) 41 Y cualquiera que os diere un vaso de agua en mi nombre, porque sois de Cristo, de cierto os digo que no perderá su recompensa.(H)

Three disciples see how great Jesus is
9 Jesus then said to them, ‘I tell you this: Some people who are standing here will see God begin to rule in his kingdom with great power. They will see that before they die.’
2 Six days after that, Jesus asked Peter, James and John to go with him. Jesus led them up a high mountain, where they were alone together. Peter, James and John saw Jesus change in front of them. 3 His clothes became very white; they were shining. They were a brighter white than anyone on earth could wash them. 4 Then Elijah and Moses appeared in front of the three disciples. Elijah and Moses were talking with Jesus.[a][b]
5 So Peter said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, it is good that we are here. Please let us build three huts. One hut will be for you. One hut will be for Moses. And one hut will be for Elijah.’ 6 Peter did not really know what to say. That was because the three disciples were very afraid.[c]
7 Then a cloud appeared and it covered them all. A voice spoke from the cloud and it said, ‘This is my Son, and I love him. Listen to him.’
8 At that moment, the three disciples looked around. They saw that nobody else was there now. Only Jesus was there with them.
9 While they were walking down the mountain, Jesus said to the three disciples, ‘You must not tell anyone now about the things that you have just seen. One day the Son of Man will become alive again after his death. Then you can tell people about these things.’ 10 The three disciples kept these words secret. But they talked together about the words, ‘become alive again after his death’. They asked each other, ‘What does this mean?’
11 Then the three disciples asked Jesus, ‘Why do the teachers of God's Law say that God's prophet Elijah must return first, before the Messiah comes?’
12 Jesus said to them, ‘Elijah does come first. He makes everything ready. But what is written in the Bible about the Son of Man? It says that people will cause him to suffer a lot. They will think that he is nothing.[d] 13 But I tell you that Elijah has already come.[e] People did to him everything that they wanted to do. The Bible already showed that those things would happen to him.’
Jesus helps a boy who has a bad spirit
14 They reached the place where the other disciples were. They saw that there was a large crowd there with them. Some teachers of God's Law were arguing with the disciples. 15 The people in the crowd saw Jesus and immediately they were very surprised. They ran to say ‘hello’ to Jesus.
16 Jesus asked his disciples, ‘What are you arguing about with the teachers of God's Law?’
17 A man in the crowd answered. He said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, I brought my son to you. He is not able to speak because he has a bad spirit. 18 When the bad spirit takes hold of him, it throws him to the ground. Water comes out of his mouth and he bites his teeth together. Then his body stops moving. I asked your disciples to send the spirit out of him. But they were not able to do it.’
19 Jesus replied, ‘You people today still do not believe in God. I have been with you for a long time and still you do not believe. It is difficult for me to be patient with you. Bring the boy to me.’
20 So the people brought the boy to Jesus. When the bad spirit saw Jesus, it immediately caused the boy's body to shake strongly. The boy fell onto the ground and he rolled about. Water was coming from his mouth.
21 Jesus asked the boy's father, ‘How long has he been like this?’
‘He has been like this since he was a small boy,’ the father replied. 22 ‘Often the spirit has caused him to fall into the fire or into water. It is trying to kill him. Please be kind to us. If you can do anything, help us!’
23 Jesus said to the father, ‘You should not say, “If you can do anything.” Everything is possible for those people who believe.’
24 Immediately, the boy's father shouted, ‘Oh! I believe! Help me to believe more!’
25 Jesus saw that the crowd of people was quickly becoming bigger. So he told the bad spirit to stop. Jesus said to it, ‘Spirit, I am telling you that you must leave this boy. He cannot hear or speak because of you. I tell you to come out of him! You must never go into him again.’
26 The spirit screamed. It caused the boy's body to shake many times. Then it came out of him. The boy seemed to be dead, so many people said, ‘He is dead.’ 27 But Jesus held the boy's hand and he helped the boy to stand up.
28 Jesus went into a house and the disciples were alone with him. Then they asked him, ‘Why could we not cause the bad spirit to leave the boy?’
29 Jesus said to them, ‘You must pray. This kind of spirit will not leave a person unless you pray.’
30 Jesus and his disciples left that place. They passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where he was. 31 That was because he was teaching his disciples. He told them, ‘Soon, they will give the Son of Man to powerful people. They will take him away and they will kill him. But three days after that, he will become alive again.’ 32 The disciples did not understand what Jesus had said. But they were afraid to ask him.
Jesus explains who will be the most important person
33 Jesus and his disciples arrived at Capernaum. When they were in the house, Jesus asked them, ‘What were you arguing about on the way?’ 34 But they did not say anything. They did not want to tell Jesus why they were arguing. On the way, they had argued about who was the most important disciple.
35 Jesus sat down. He told the 12 apostles to come to him. Then he said to them, ‘If you want to be the leader, make yourself less important than everyone else. You must become the servant of everyone.’
36 Then Jesus brought a child to stand in the middle of them all. He took hold of the child and he said to the disciples, 37 ‘If someone accepts a child like this because of me, then that person also accepts me. If he accepts me, then he is not only accepting me. He is also accepting my Father God, who sent me.’[f]
38 John said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, we saw a man who was causing bad spirits to go out of people. He was using your authority to do it. But he is not in our group. So we told him that he must not do it.’
39 ‘Do not tell him to stop,’ Jesus said. ‘That man is using my authority to do powerful things. Someone who does that cannot immediately say anything bad about me. 40 If someone is not against us, he is working to help us. 41 Somebody may give you a cup of water because you are a servant of the Messiah. I tell you this: God will bless that person and he will never lose God's help.
42 A person who believes in me may not seem important. But you should never make that person do wrong things. Do not do that! It would be better if someone tied a big stone around your neck and then he threw you into the sea!
43-44 If your hand causes you to do wrong things, you should cut it off.[g] You will only have one hand, but you can have God's true life. It will be much worse for you if you keep both your hands and go to hell. There, the fire always burns and never stops. 45-46 If your foot causes you to do wrong things, you should cut it off. You will only have one foot, but you can have God's true life. It will be much worse if you keep your two feet and go to hell. 47 If your eye causes you to do wrong things, then you should remove it. Then you will only have one eye, but you can go into the kingdom of God. It will be much worse if you keep both your eyes and God throws you into hell.
49 God will put fire on everybody, as people put salt on food.[j] 50 Salt is good. But if your salt is not salty any more, you cannot make it salty again. You should be like good salt and love each other. Do not cause trouble among yourselves.’

- 9:4 Moses had lived a long time before Jesus. He was a leader of God's people. He died about 1400 years before Jesus was born. We can read about Moses in the book of Exodus.
- 9:4 Elijah was one of God's special servants who spoke God's messages to the people. He lived about 850 years before Jesus was born. He was still alive when God took him up to live in heaven. We can read about Elijah in 1 Kings.
- 9:6 Peter and his friends wanted to build the huts so that these important people could stay with them longer. But God did not want them to remain on the mountain. God sent these two men to talk to Jesus. They talked about the things that would happen in Jerusalem. Jesus would die on a cross there. See Luke 9:31.
- 9:12 See 1 Kings 19:1-3
- 9:13 When Jesus talked to them about Elijah, he was also talking about John the Baptist. Herod did cruel things to John. See Mark 6:14-28
- 9:37 Jesus loved children. And he showed his disciples that a child is important to God. We should also love people who do not seem important.
- 9:43-44 Jesus does not want his disciples to cut their bodies. But it is very important for them not to do wrong things. That is what Jesus is telling them.

2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John(E) with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became dazzling white,(F) whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(G) it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:(H) “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”(I)
8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone(J) what they had seen until the Son of Man(K) had risen from the dead. 10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant.
11 And they asked him, “Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?”
12 Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man(L) must suffer much(M) and be rejected?(N) 13 But I tell you, Elijah has come,(O) and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.”
Jesus Heals a Boy Possessed by an Impure Spirit(P)
14 When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. 15 As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.
16 “What are you arguing with them about?” he asked.
17 A man in the crowd answered, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. 18 Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.”
19 “You unbelieving generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”
20 So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.(Q)
21 Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has he been like this?”
“From childhood,” he answered. 22 “It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.”
23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”(R)
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene,(S) he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
26 The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.
28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately,(T) “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”
29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.[a]”
Jesus Predicts His Death a Second Time(U)
30 They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, 31 because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man(V) is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him,(W) and after three days(X) he will rise.”(Y) 32 But they did not understand what he meant(Z) and were afraid to ask him about it.
33 They came to Capernaum.(AA) When he was in the house,(AB) he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?” 34 But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.(AC)
35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”(AD)
36 He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms,(AE) he said to them, 37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”(AF)
Whoever Is Not Against Us Is for Us(AG)
38 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”(AH)
39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me, 40 for whoever is not against us is for us.(AI) 41 Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.(AJ)
Causing to Stumble
42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble,(AK) it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.(AL) 43 If your hand causes you to stumble,(AM) cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell,(AN) where the fire never goes out.(AO) [44] [b] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble,(AP) cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.(AQ) [46] [c] 47 And if your eye causes you to stumble,(AR) pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,(AS) 48 where
49 Everyone will be salted(AU) with fire.
50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again?(AV) Have salt among yourselves,(AW) and be at peace with each other.”(AX)
