8 那些日子，又有一大群人聚集，他们没有甚么东西吃。耶稣叫门徒来，对他们说： 2 “我怜悯这一群人，因为他们和我在一起已经有三天，没有甚么吃的了。 3 如果我叫他们散开，饿着肚子回家去，他们会在路上晕倒，因为有人是从很远的地方来的。” 4 门徒回答：“在这旷野地方，从哪里能找食物叫这些人吃饱呢？” 5 他问他们：“你们有多少饼？”他们说：“七个。” 6 耶稣吩咐群众坐在地上；拿起那七个饼，祝谢了，擘开递给门徒，叫他们摆开；门徒就摆在众人面前， 7 他们还有几条小鱼，耶稣祝了福，就吩咐把这些也摆开。 8 众人都吃了，并吃饱了。他们把剩下的零碎收拾起来，装满了七个大篮子。 9 当时人数约有四千。耶稣解散了群众， 10 就立刻和门徒上了船，来到大玛努他地区。

治好伯赛大瞎眼的人
22 后来他们到了伯赛大，有人带了一个瞎眼的人到他跟前，求耶稣摸他。 23 耶稣拉着他的手，领他到村外，吐唾沫在他的眼睛上，又用双手按在他的身上，问他：“你看见甚么没有？” 24 他往上一看，说：“我看见人了！看见他们好象树走来走去。” 25 于是耶稣再按手在他的眼睛上，他定睛一看，就复原了，样样都看得清楚了。 26 耶稣叫他回家去，说：“连这村子你也不要进去。”

27 耶稣和门徒出去，要到该撒利亚．腓立比附近的村庄。在路上他问门徒说：“人说我是谁？” 28 他们回答：“有人说是施洗的约翰；有人说是以利亚；还有人说是先知里的一位。” 29 他又问他们说：“那么你们呢？你们说我是谁？”彼得回答：“你就是基督。” 30 耶稣郑重地嘱咐他们，不要把他的事告诉人。

8 In those days the multitude being very great, and having nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples unto him, and saith unto them,
2 I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now been with me three days, and have nothing to eat:
3 And if I send them away fasting to their own houses, they will faint by the way: for divers of them came from far.
4 And his disciples answered him, From whence can a man satisfy these men with bread here in the wilderness?
5 And he asked them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven.
6 And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.
7 And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them.
8 So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.
9 And they that had eaten were about four thousand: and he sent them away.
10 And straightway he entered into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.
11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.
12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation.
13 And he left them, and entering into the ship again departed to the other side.
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread.
17 And when Jesus knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?
18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?
19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him, Twelve.
20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven.
21 And he said unto them, How is it that ye do not understand?
22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
26 And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.
27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am?
28 And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.
29 And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.
30 And he charged them that they should tell no man of him.
31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and began to rebuke him.
33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

8 그 무렵에 다시 많은 사람이 예수께 모여들었다. 그런데 사람들은 먹을 것이 없었다. 예수께서 제자들을 불러 말씀하셨다. 2 “이 사람들이 가엾구나. 나와 함께 있은 지가 벌써 사흘이나 되었다. 그런데 먹을 것이 없어 굶고 있다. 3 그들을 굶긴 채 집으로 돌아가게 하였다가는 길에서 쓰러질 것이다. 이 가운데에는 먼 곳에서 온 사람들도 더러 있다.” 4 제자들이 대답하였다. “우리가 이렇게 멀리 떨어진 곳에 있으니, 어디 가서 이 많은 사람을 먹일 충분한 빵을 살 수 있겠습니까?”
5 예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. “지금 빵이 몇 덩이나 있느냐?”
“일곱 덩이 있습니다.” 제자들이 대답하였다.
6 예수께서 사람들을 땅에 앉게 하시고, 빵 일곱 덩이를 손에 들고 하나님께 감사를 드린 뒤에, 빵을 쪼개어 제자들에게 주셨다. 그리고 그 빵을 사람들에게 나누어 주라고 말씀하셨다. 제자들이 예수의 말씀대로 나누어 주었다. 7 그들에게 작은 물고기도 몇 마리 있어서, 예수께서 물고기에 대해 다시 감사 기도를 드리셨다. 그리고 제자들에게 물고기를 주시면서 사람들에게 나누어 주라고 말씀하셨다. 8 모두들 배불리 먹은 뒤에 남은 음식을 거두어 모았더니 남은 음식이 일곱 바구니에 가득 찼다. 9 음식을 먹은 사람은 사천 명쯤 되었다. 예수께서 그들을 흩어 보내셨다. 10 그리고 제자들과 함께 배를 타고 달마누다 지방으로 가셨다.

11 바리새파 사람들이 와서 예수께 묻기 시작하였다. 그들은 예수를 시험하려고 이렇게 말하였다. “하나님께서 당신을 보내셨다면, 그것을 증명해 줄 기적을 보여 주십시오.” 12 예수께서 깊은 한숨을 내쉬며 말씀하셨다. “어찌하여 이 세대 사람들이 기적 같은 증거를 보고 싶어하느냐? 내가 너희에게 분명히 말한다. 너희에게는[a] 어떤 증거도 보여 주지 않겠다.” 13 예수께서 바리새파 사람들을 떠나 배에 오르셨다. 그리고 호수 건너편으로 가셨다.
제자들이 예수를 잘못 이해하다

14 제자들이 빵을 가져가는 것을 잊어버려서, 배에는 빵이 한 덩이밖에 없었다. 15 그때 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “조심하여라. 바리새파와 헤롯의 누룩[b]을 경계하여라.”
16 제자들은 이 말씀의 뜻이 궁금하여 서로 수군거렸다. “우리에게 빵이 없어서 누룩 이야기를 하시는 모양이다.”
17 그들이 무슨 이야기를 하고 있는지 예수께서 아시고 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “어찌하여 너희는 빵이 없는 것을 두고 수군거리느냐? 아직도 알지 못하고 깨닫지 못하느냐? 너희 마음이 그렇게도 무디냐? 18 너희는 눈이 있어도 보지 못하고, 귀가 있어도 듣지 못하느냐? 빵이 없을 때에 내가 한 일을 다 잊어버렸느냐? 19 내가 빵 다섯 덩이를 나누어 오천 명을 먹였을 때, 너희들이 거두어들인 빵 부스러기가 몇 바구니였느냐?”
제자들이 대답하였다. “열두 바구니였습니다.”
20 “빵 일곱 덩이를 나누어 사천 명을 먹였을 때, 너희가 거두어들인 빵 부스러기는 몇 바구니였느냐?”
제자들이 대답하였다. “일곱 바구니였습니다.”
21 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “너희는 내가 한 일을 잘 기억하고 있구나. 그러면서도 깨닫지 못하느냐?”
벳새다에서 눈먼 사람을 고치시다
22 예수와 제자들은 벳새다로 갔다. 사람들이 눈먼 사람 하나를 예수께 데려왔다. 그들은 예수께서 그 사람에게 손을 대 주시기를 간청하였다. 23 예수께서 그 눈먼 사람의 손을 잡아 마을 밖으로 데리고 나가셨다. 그리고 그 사람의 눈에 침을 뱉고 손을 대며 물으셨다. “무엇이 보이느냐?”
24 그가 쳐다보며 대답하였다. “예, 사람들이 보입니다. 그런데 나무들이 걸어다니는 것처럼 보입니다.”
25 예수께서 그의 눈에 다시 손을 대시자 그의 눈이 크게 열렸다. 그의 눈이 나아서, 그는 모든 것을 똑똑하게 볼 수 있었다. 26 예수께서 그에게 집으로 가라고 이르시며 말씀하셨다. “마을로는 들어가지 말아라.”
베드로가 예수는 그리스도시라고 고백하다

27 예수께서 제자들과 함께 가이사랴 빌립보 지역에 있는 여러 마을을 향하여 길을 떠나셨다. 그곳으로 가는 동안에 예수께서 제자들에게 물으셨다. “사람들이 나를 누구라 하느냐?”
28 제자들이 대답하였다. “어떤 사람들은 선생님을 세례자 요한[c]이라고 합니다. 엘리야[d]라고 하는 사람들도 더러 있습니다. 그리고 옛 선지자들 가운데 한 분이라고 말하는 사람들도 있습니다.”
29 예수께서 물으셨다. “너희는 나를 누구라고 생각하느냐?”
베드로가 대답하였다. “선생님은 그리스도이십니다.”
30 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. “사람들에게는 내가 누구인지 말하지 말아라.”
예수께서 당신이 죽으셔야 한다고 말씀하시다
(마 16:21-28; 눅 9:22-27)
31 그러고 나서 예수께서 제자들에게 사람의 아들이 많은 고난을 당해야 할 것을 가르치기 시작하셨다. 사람의 아들이 장로들과 대제사장들과 율법 선생들에게 배척을 당해야 하며, 그들의 손에 죽었다가 사흘 뒤에 다시 살아나야 한다고 가르치셨다. 32 예수께서는 이것을 드러내놓고 말씀하셨다. 그러자 베드로가 예수를 한쪽으로 모시고 가서 그래서는 안 된다고 펄쩍 뛰었다. 33 그러나 예수께서는 몸을 돌이켜 제자들을 바라보시며, 베드로를 꾸짖어 말씀하셨다. “사탄[e]아, 물러가라! 너는 하나님의 일을 생각하지 않고 사람의 일만 생각하는구나.”
34 그 뒤에 예수께서 제자들과 함께 무리를 불러 놓고 이렇게 말씀하셨다. “누구든지 나를 따르려는 사람은, 자기를 버리고 제 십자가를 지고 나를 따라야 한다. 35 누구든지 제 목숨을 구하려고 하는 사람은 목숨을 잃을 것이다. 그러나 누구든지 나와 기쁜 소식을 위하여 목숨을 잃는 사람은 목숨을 구할 것이다. 36 사람이 온 세상을 차지하고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐? 37 무엇을 주고 제 목숨을 되찾을 수 있겠느냐? 38 너희가 살고 있는 이 세대는 음란하고 죄로 가득한 세대이다. 이런 세대에 살면서, 너희 가운데 누구라도 나와 나의 가르침을 부끄럽게 여기면, 사람의 아들도 그 사람을 부끄럽게 여길 것이다. 사람의 아들이 아버지의 영광에 싸여 거룩한 천사들과 함께 이 세상에 다시 올 때에, 그 사람을 부끄럽게 여길 것이다.”
