⁸原來，耶穌已經對他身上的鬼說：「污鬼，從這人身上出來！」

⁹耶穌問：「你叫什麼名字？」

他說：「我的名字叫『群』，因為我們是一大群。」

¹⁰接著污鬼再三哀求耶穌，不要把牠們逐出那個地區。

New International Version

⁸For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”

⁹Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?”

“My name is Legion,”^(A) he replied, “for we are many.” ¹⁰And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

⁸For He said to him, ^(A)“Come out of the man, unclean spirit!” ⁹Then He asked him, “What is your name?”

And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” ¹⁰Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country.
