Jesus botar en förlamad man
(Matt 9:2-8; Luk 5:18-26)
2 Några dagar senare kom Jesus tillbaka till Kafarnaum igen, och nyheten om att han kommit hem spred sig snabbt. 2 Då samlades där så mycket folk att de inte ens fick plats utanför dörren. Och han förkunnade ordet för dem.
3 Då kom fyra män till honom bärande på en förlamad man. 4 Men när de inte kunde tränga sig igenom folkmassan och komma fram till Jesus gjorde de hål i taket ovanför honom. Genom öppningen firade de sedan ner bädden med den förlamade. 5 När Jesus såg deras tro, sa han till den förlamade: ”Min son, dina synder är förlåtna.”
6 Men några skriftlärda satt där, och de tänkte i sina hjärtan: 7 ”Hur kan han tala på det viset och häda? Vem utom Gud kan förlåta synder?”
8 Men Jesus förstod i sin ande vad de tänkte, och frågade dem: ”Varför tänker ni sådana tankar i era hjärtan? 9 Vilket är lättare, att säga till den förlamade: ’Dina synder är förlåtna’, eller att säga: ’Res dig upp, ta din bädd och gå?’ ” 10 ”Men för att ni ska veta att Människosonen har makt att förlåta synder här på jorden,” – nu talade han till den förlamade: 11 ”säger jag till dig: Res dig upp, ta din bår och gå hem!”
12 Då steg mannen upp, tog sin bädd och gick ut, mitt framför ögonen på de förbluffade människorna. Och man hyllade Gud och sa: ”Aldrig förr har vi sett något sådant!”
Jesus kallar en tullindrivare att följa honom
(Matt 9:9-13; Luk 5:27-32)
13 Sedan gick Jesus längs Galileiska sjön igen, och stora folkmassor kom till honom, och han undervisade dem. 14 När han gick där fick han se Levi, Alfaios son, sitta vid tullhuset. ”Kom och följ mig”, sa Jesus till honom. Och Levi reste sig och följde Jesus.
15 När Jesus senare åt i hans hus, fanns där många tullindrivare och syndare som åt tillsammans med honom och hans lärjungar, för många av dem hade också börjat följa Jesus.
16 Då de skriftlärda bland fariseerna[a] såg Jesus i detta sällskap, sa de till hans lärjungar: ”Äter han verkligen med tullindrivare och syndare?” 17 Men Jesus hörde det och sa till dem: ”Det är inte de friska som behöver läkare, utan de sjuka. Jag har inte kommit för att kalla rättfärdiga utan syndare.”
Jesus svarar på en fråga om fasta
(Matt 9:14-17; Luk 5:33-39)
18 Johannes döparens lärjungar och fariseerna fastade. Då kom några och frågade Jesus: ”Varför fastar inte dina lärjungar som Johannes lärjungar och fariseerna gör?”
19 Jesus svarade: ”Bröllopsgästerna kan väl inte fasta medan brudgummen är hos dem? Nej, så länge brudgummen är tillsammans med dem kan de inte fasta. 20 Men en dag ska han tas ifrån dem, och då kommer de att fasta. 21 Ingen lagar ett gammalt klädesplagg med ett stycke nytt, okrympt tyg, för då krymper det nya tyget och river sönder plagget, så att hålet blir ännu större. 22 Och ingen häller nytt vin i gamla vinsäckar, för när vinet jäser sprängs säckarna, och allt blir förstört, både vinet och säckarna. Nej, nytt vin häller man i nya säckar.”
Jesus lärjungar plockar ax på sabbaten
(Matt 12:1-8; Luk 6:1-5)
23 En gång när det var sabbat gick Jesus och hans lärjungar genom några sädesfält, och medan de gick ryckte hans lärjungar av ax.
24 Fariseerna sa då till Jesus: ”Varför gör de så där? Det där är ju inte tillåtet på sabbaten.”
25 Men Jesus svarade dem: ”Har ni aldrig läst vad David gjorde när han och hans män blev hungriga och inte hade något att äta?[b] 26 Han gick in i Guds hus – då var Evjatar överstepräst – och åt av skådebröden som bara prästerna får äta och delade med sig till de andra.” 27 Sedan sa Jesus till dem: ”Sabbaten blev till för människans skull, och inte människan för sabbatens skull. 28 Därför är Människosonen också Herre över sabbaten.”

Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic(A)
2 And again (B)He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. 2 [a]Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. 3 Then they came to Him, bringing a (C)paralytic who was carried by four men. 4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
6 And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? (D)Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? 9 (E)Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has [b]power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and (F)glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
Matthew the Tax Collector(G)
13 (H)Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them. 14 (I)As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, (J)“Follow Me.” So he arose and (K)followed Him.
15 (L)Now it happened, as He was dining in Levi’s house, that many tax collectors and sinners also sat together with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many, and they followed Him. 16 And when the scribes [c]and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, (M)“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, [d]to repentance.”
Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting(N)
18 (O)The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”
19 And Jesus said to them, “Can the [e]friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. 20 But the days will come when the bridegroom will be (P)taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. 21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath(Q)
23 (R)Now it happened that He went through the grainfields on the Sabbath; and as they went His disciples began (S)to pluck the heads of grain. 24 And the Pharisees said to Him, “Look, why do they do what is (T)not lawful on the Sabbath?”
25 But He said to them, “Have you never read (U)what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: 26 how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, (V)which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?”
27 And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the (W)Sabbath. 28 Therefore (X)the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
