耶稣在彼拉多面前受审
15 清早，祭司长、长老、律法教师和全公会的人商定后，便把耶稣绑起来押送到彼拉多那里。
2 彼拉多问耶稣：“你是犹太人的王吗？”
耶稣回答说：“如你所言。”
3 祭司长控告耶稣许多罪。
4 彼拉多又问道：“你看，他们控告你这么多，你都不回答吗？”
5 耶稣仍旧一言不发，彼拉多感到惊奇。
6 每年逾越节的时候，彼拉多都会照惯例按犹太人的要求释放一个囚犯。 7 那时，有一个囚犯名叫巴拉巴，与其他作乱时杀过人的囚犯关在一起。 8 百姓聚来，要求彼拉多照惯例释放囚犯。
9 彼拉多问：“你们要我为你们释放犹太人的王吗？” 10 因为他知道祭司长把耶稣押来是出于妒忌。 11 但祭司长却煽动百姓，叫他们要求彼拉多释放巴拉巴。
12 彼拉多只好问：“那么，这位你们称之为犹太人之王的，我如何处置呢？”
13 他们喊着说：“把祂钉在十字架上！”
14 彼拉多问：“为什么？祂犯了什么罪？”
他们却更大声地喊：“把祂钉在十字架上！”
15 为了取悦众人，彼拉多释放了巴拉巴，命人将耶稣鞭打后带出去钉十字架。
耶稣受辱
16 于是，卫兵把耶稣带进总督府的院子，集合了全营的兵。 17 他们给祂穿上紫袍，用荆棘编成王冠戴在祂头上， 18 向祂行礼，并喊着说：“犹太人的王万岁！” 19 他们用苇秆打祂的头，向祂吐唾沫，跪拜祂。 20 戏弄完了，就脱去祂的紫袍，给祂穿上原来的衣服，押祂出去钉十字架。
钉十字架
21 亚历山大和鲁孚的父亲古利奈人西门从乡下来，途经那地方，卫兵就强迫他背耶稣的十字架。 22 他们把耶稣带到各各他——意思是“髑髅地”， 23 拿没药调和的酒给祂喝，但祂不肯喝。 24 他们把耶稣钉在十字架上，还抽签分祂的衣服。 25 他们钉祂十字架的时间是在上午九点钟。 26 祂的罪状牌上写着“犹太人的王”。
27 他们还把两个强盗钉在十字架上，一个在祂右边，一个在祂左边， 28 这应验了圣经的话：“祂被列在罪犯中。” 29 过路的人都嘲笑祂，摇着头说：“哈，你这要把圣殿拆毁又在三天内重建的人啊， 30 救救你自己，从十字架上下来吧！”
31 祭司长和律法教师也嘲讽说：“祂救了别人，却救不了自己！ 32 以色列的王基督，现在从十字架上下来吧！让我们看看，我们就信了！”与祂同钉十字架的强盗也对祂出言不逊。
耶稣之死
33 正午时分，黑暗笼罩着整个大地，一直到下午三点。 34 大约在三点，耶稣大声呼喊：“以罗伊，以罗伊，拉马撒巴各大尼？”意思是：“我的上帝，我的上帝，你为什么离弃我？”
35 有些站在旁边的人听见了，就说：“听，祂在呼叫以利亚。”
36 有人跑去把一块海绵蘸满酸酒，绑在苇秆上送给祂喝，说：“等等，让我们看看以利亚会不会救祂下来。”
37 耶稣大叫一声，就断了气。 38 圣殿的幔子从上到下裂成两半。 39 站在对面的百夫长看见耶稣喊叫[a]断气的情形，便说：“这人真是上帝的儿子！”
40 有些妇女在远处观看，其中有抹大拉的玛丽亚、小雅各和约西的母亲玛丽亚并撒罗米。 41 耶稣在加利利时，她们已经跟随祂、服侍祂了。此外还有好些跟着祂上耶路撒冷的妇女。
安葬耶稣
42 那天是犹太人的预备日，也就是安息日的前一天。傍晚， 43 亚利马太人约瑟鼓起勇气去见彼拉多，要求领取耶稣的遗体。他是一位德高望重的公会议员，一位等候上帝国降临的人。 44 彼拉多听见耶稣已经死了，十分惊讶，便把百夫长召来问个明白， 45 得知耶稣确实已死，便将耶稣的遗体交给约瑟。
46 约瑟把耶稣的遗体取下来，用买来的细麻布裹好，安放在一个在岩壁上凿出的墓穴里，又滚来一块大石头堵住洞口。 47 抹大拉的玛丽亚和约西的母亲玛丽亚都亲眼看到了安葬耶稣的地方。

Jesus Before Pilate(A)
15 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law(B) and the whole Sanhedrin,(C) made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.(D)
2 “Are you the king of the Jews?”(E) asked Pilate.
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.
3 The chief priests accused him of many things. 4 So again Pilate asked him, “Aren’t you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing you of.”
5 But Jesus still made no reply,(F) and Pilate was amazed.
6 Now it was the custom at the festival to release a prisoner whom the people requested. 7 A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. 8 The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did.
9 “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?”(G) asked Pilate, 10 knowing it was out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. 11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas(H) instead.
12 “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” Pilate asked them.
13 “Crucify him!” they shouted.
14 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged,(I) and handed him over to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(J)
16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace(K) (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. 18 And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!”(L) 19 Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out(M) to crucify him.
The Crucifixion of Jesus(N)
21 A certain man from Cyrene,(O) Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus,(P) was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.(Q) 22 They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). 23 Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh,(R) but he did not take it. 24 And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots(S) to see what each would get.
25 It was nine in the morning when they crucified him. 26 The written notice of the charge against him read: the king of the jews.(T)
27 They crucified two rebels with him, one on his right and one on his left. [28] [a] 29 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads(U) and saying, “So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days,(V) 30 come down from the cross and save yourself!” 31 In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him(W) among themselves. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! 32 Let this Messiah,(X) this king of Israel,(Y) come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
The Death of Jesus(Z)
33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.(AA) 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[b](AB)
35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.”
36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar,(AC) put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said.
37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.(AD)
38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.(AE) 39 And when the centurion,(AF) who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died,[c] he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”(AG)
40 Some women were watching from a distance.(AH) Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph,[d] and Salome.(AI) 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.(AJ)
The Burial of Jesus(AK)
42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath).(AL) So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council,(AM) who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God,(AN) went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. 45 When he learned from the centurion(AO) that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.(AP) 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph(AQ) saw where he was laid.

1 And (A)[a]anon in the dawning, the high Priests held a Council with the Elders, and the Scribes, and the whole Council, and bound Jesus, and led him away, and [b]delivered him to Pilate.
2 Then Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered, and said unto him, Thou sayest it.
3 And the high Priests accused him of many things.
4 (B)Wherefore Pilate asked him again, saying, Answered thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.
5 But Jesus answered no more at all, so that Pilate marveled.
6 Now at the feast, Pilate [c]did deliver a prisoner unto them, whomsoever they would desire.
7 Then there was one named Barabbas, which was bound with his fellows, that had made insurrection, who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8 And the people cried aloud, and began to desire that he would do as he had ever done unto them.
9 Then Pilate answered them, and said, Will ye that I let loose unto you the King of the Jews?
10 For he knew that the high Priests had delivered him of envy.
11 But the high Priests had moved the people to desire that he would rather deliver Barabbas unto them.
12 And Pilate answered, and said again unto them, What will ye then that I do with him, whom ye call the King of the Jews?
13 And they cried again, Crucify him.
14 Then Pilate said unto them, But what evil hath he done? And they cried the more fervently, Crucify him.
15 So Pilate willing to content the people, loosed them Barabbas, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, that he might be crucified.
16 Then the soldiers led him away into the hall, which is the common hall, and called together the whole band,
17 [d]And clad him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head,
18 And began to salute him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews.
19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and spat upon him, and bowed the knees, and did him reverence.
20 And when they had mocked him, they took the purple off him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.
21 (C)And they [e]compelled one that passed by, called Simon of Cyrene (which came out of the country, and was father of Alexander and Rufus) to bear his cross.
22 (D)[f]And they brought him to a place named Golgotha, which is by interpretation, the place of dead mens’ skulls.
23 And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received it not.
24 (E)[g]And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots for them, what every man should have.
25 And it was the third hour when they crucified him.
26 And the title of his cause was written above, THAT KING OF THE JEWS.
27 They crucified also with him two thieves, the one on the right hand, and the other on his left.
28 Thus the Scripture was fulfilled, which saith, (F)And he was counted among the wicked.
29 And they that went by, railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, (G)Hey, thou that destroyest the Temple, and buildest it in three days,
30 Save thyself, and come down from the cross.
31 Likewise also even the high Priests mocking, said among themselves with the Scribes, He saved other men, himself he cannot save.
32 Let Christ the king of Israel now come down from the cross, that we may see, and believe. They also that were crucified with him, reviled him.
33 ¶ Now when the sixth hour was come, [h]darkness arose over [i]all the land until the ninth hour.
34 And at the [j]ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, (H)Eloi, Eloi, lama-sabachthani? which is by interpretation, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elijah.
36 And one ran, and filled a (I)sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let him alone: let us see if Elijah will come, and take him down.
37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.
38 And the veil of the Temple was rent in twain, from the top to the bottom.
39 Now when the Centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he thus crying gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
40 ¶ [k]There were also women which beheld afar off, among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,
41 Which also when he was in Galilee, (J)followed him, and ministered unto him, and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
42 (K)And now when the night was come (because it was the day of the preparation that is before the Sabbath)
43 (L)Joseph of Arimathea, an [l]honorable counselor, which also looked for the kingdom of God, came, and went in [m]boldly unto Pilate, and asked the body of Jesus.
44 And Pilate marveled, if he were already dead, and called unto him the Centurion, and asked of him whether he had been any while dead.
45 And when he knew the truth of the Centurion, he gave the body to Joseph:
46 Who bought a linen cloth, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb that was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulcher:
47 And Mary Magdalene, and Mary Joses’ mother, beheld where he should be laid.

- Mark 15:1 Christ being bound before the judgment seat of an earthly judge, in open assembly is condemned as guilty unto the death of the cross, not for his own sins, (as appeareth by the judge’s own words) but for all ours, that we most guilty creatures being delivered from the guiltiness of our sins, might be quitted before the judgment seat of God, even in the open assembly of the Angels.
- Mark 15:1 It was not lawful for them to put any man to death, for all causes of life and death were taken away from them, first by Herod the great, and afterward by the Romans, about forty years before the destruction of the Temple, and therefore they deliver Jesus to Pilate.
