13 耶稣走出圣殿的时候，有一个门徒对祂说：“老师，你看！这是多么大的石头，多么宏伟的建筑啊！”
2 耶稣说：“你看见这宏伟的建筑了吗？将来它要被完全拆毁，找不到两块叠在一起的石头。”
3 耶稣面向圣殿坐在橄榄山上，彼得、雅各、约翰和安得烈私下来问祂： 4 “请告诉我们，这些事什么时候会发生？有什么预兆？”
5 耶稣对他们说：“你们要小心，免得被人迷惑。 6 将有很多人冒我的名来，说，‘我是基督’，欺骗许多人。
7 “你们听见战争爆发、战讯频传时，不要惊慌，因为这些事必然发生，只是末日还没有到。
8 “民族将与民族互斗，国家将与国家相争，各处将有地震和饥荒。这些只是灾难[a]的开始。
9 “你们要小心，因为你们将被送上法庭，将在会堂里受鞭打，又将为了我的缘故在官长和君王面前做见证。 10 不过，福音一定要先传遍天下。 11 你们被拘捕，受审讯的时候，不用预先考虑怎样辩解，到时候赐给你们什么话，你们就说什么话，因为那时候说话的不是你们自己，而是圣灵。
12 “那时，人必把自己的弟兄置于死地，父亲必把儿子置于死地，儿女必反叛父母，置他们于死地。 13 你们将为我的名而被众人憎恨，但坚忍到底的必定得救。
大灾难
14 “当你们看见‘那带来毁灭的可憎之物’站在不当站的地方时（读者须会意），住在犹太地区的人要逃到山上去； 15 在屋顶上的人不要下来，不要进房屋收拾行李； 16 在田间的人不要回家取外衣。 17 那时，孕妇和哺育婴儿的母亲们可就遭殃了！ 18 你们要祈求上帝使这些事不要在冬天发生， 19 因为那是上帝创造天地以来空前绝后的大灾难。 20 如果主不缩短灾期，恐怕没有人能活命，但为了祂所拣选的子民，祂已经缩短灾期。 21 那时，如果有人对你们说，‘看啊！基督在这里’，或说，‘基督在那里’，你们不要相信。 22 因为假基督和假先知将出现，行各种神迹奇事，如果可能，甚至会迷惑上帝拣选的子民。 23 你们要小心，我已经把一切预先告诉你们了。
人子降临
24 “大灾难过后，
太阳昏暗，
月亮无光，
25 星宿陨落，

28 “你们可以从无花果树学个道理。当无花果树发芽长叶的时候，你们就知道夏天快来了。 29 同样，当你们看见这些事情发生时，就知道人子快来了，就在门口。 30 我实在告诉你们，这个世代还没有过去，这一切都要发生。 31 天地都要过去，我的话却永远长存。
32 “但没有人知道那日子和时辰何时来到，连天上的天使和人子都不知道，只有天父知道。 33 你们要小心，警醒祷告，因为你们不知道那日子何时来到。

Jesus Foretells Destruction of the Temple
13 (A)And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!” 2 And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? (B)There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”
Signs of the End of the Age
3 And as he sat on (C)the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, (D)Peter and James and John and (E)Andrew asked him (F)privately, 4 “Tell us, (G)when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are about to be accomplished?” 5 And Jesus began to say to them, (H)“See that no one leads you astray. 6 (I)Many will come in my name, saying, (J)‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray. 7 And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, (K)do not be alarmed. This (L)must take place, but the end is not yet. 8 For (M)nation will rise against nation, and (N)kingdom against kingdom. There will be (O)earthquakes in various places; there will be (P)famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.
9 (Q)“But (R)be on your guard. For they will deliver you over to councils, and you will be beaten (S)in synagogues, and you will stand before (T)governors and (U)kings for my sake, (V)to bear witness before them. 10 And the gospel must first be proclaimed (W)to all nations. 11 And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, (X)do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say (Y)whatever is given you in that hour, (Z)for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 (AA)And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. 13 (AB)And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. (AC)But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
The Abomination of Desolation
14 “But when you see (AD)the abomination of desolation standing where he ought not to be ((AE)let the reader understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 (AF)Let the one who is on (AG)the housetop not go down, nor enter his house, to take anything out, 16 and let the one who is in the field not turn back to take his cloak. 17 And (AH)alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 18 Pray that it may not happen in winter. 19 For in those days there will be (AI)such (AJ)tribulation as has not been (AK)from the beginning of the creation that (AL)God created until now, and never will be. 20 And if the Lord had not cut short the days, no human being would be saved. But for (AM)the sake of the elect, whom (AN)he chose, he shortened the days. 21 And (AO)then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. 22 (AP)For false christs and false prophets will arise and (AQ)perform signs and wonders, (AR)to lead astray, if possible, (AS)the elect. 23 But (AT)be on guard; (AU)I have told you all things beforehand.
The Coming of the Son of Man
24 “But in those days, after (AV)that tribulation, (AW)the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and (AX)the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see (AY)the Son of Man coming in clouds (AZ)with great power and glory. 27 And then (BA)he will send out the angels and (BB)gather (BC)his elect from (BD)the four winds, from (BE)the ends of the earth (BF)to the ends of heaven.
The Lesson of the Fig Tree
28 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, (BG)at the very gates. 30 (BH)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31 (BI)Heaven and earth will pass away, but (BJ)my words will not pass away.
No One Knows That Day or Hour
32 “But concerning that day or that hour, (BK)no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, (BL)nor the Son, (BM)but only the Father. 33 (BN)Be on guard, (BO)keep awake.[a] For you do not know when the time will come. 34 (BP)It is like a man (BQ)going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants[b] in charge, (BR)each with his work, and commands (BS)the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 (BT)Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, (BU)in the evening, or (BV)at midnight, or (BW)when the rooster crows,[c] or (BX)in the morning— 36 lest (BY)he come suddenly and (BZ)find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: (CA)Stay awake.”

13 예수께서 성전을 떠나 걸어 나오고 계셨다. 그때 제자 가운데 한 사람이 예수께 큰 소리로 말하였다. “선생님, 좀 보십시오! 성전이 참으로 멋집니다! 무척 큰 돌들을 써서 지은 건물입니다!”
2 예수께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “너는 이 건물을 보고 놀라느냐? 두고 보라. 돌 하나도 제 자리에 놓여 있지 못하고 다 무너지고 말 것이다.”
3 그 뒤에 예수께서 올리브 산[a]에 앉아 계실 때에, 베드로와 야고보와 요한과 안드레가 가만히 여쭈었다. 4 “그런 일들이 언제 일어나겠습니까? 저희에게 말씀해 주십시오. 그리고 이런 일들이 이루어질 때가 이르렀음을 알리는 징조로, 어떤 징조가 나타나겠습니까?”
5 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. “아무에게도 속지 않도록 조심하여라. 6 많은 사람이 와서 내 이름을 앞세워 ‘내가 그리스도이다.’ 라고 떠들며, 많은 사람을 속일 것이다. 7 너희는 전쟁 소식을 듣거나 전쟁이 일어나리라는 소문을 듣기도 할 것이다. 그러나 두려워하지 말아라. 이런 일이 반드시 일어나야 하겠지만, 아직 끝이 온 것은 아니다. 8 한 민족이 일어나 다른 민족을 치고, 나라들도 서로 들고 일어나 싸울 것이다. 흉년이 들어 먹을 것이 없고, 여기저기에서 지진이 일어날 것이다. 그러나 이런 모든 일들은 아기를 낳으려는 여자가 겪는 것과 같은 고통의 시작일 뿐이다.
9 정신을 바짝 차려라. 사람들이 너희를 붙잡아 재판관에게 넘겨줄 것이다. 그리고 회당에서 너희를 매질할 것이다. 너희는 나 때문에 왕과 총독들 앞에 서서, 내게서 듣고 본 것을 그들에게 증언하게 될 것이다. 10 그러나 이런 일들에 앞서 먼저 기쁜 소식이 모든 민족에게 전해져야 한다. 11 너희가 체포되어 법정에 서게 될 때에, 무슨 말을 해야 할지 미리 걱정하지 말아라. 하나님께서 그 순간에 너희가 해야 할 말을 일러 주실 것이다. 말하는 이는 너희가 아니라 성령이시다.
12 형제가 서로 배반하여 자신의 형제를 죽을 자리에 넘겨줄 것이다. 아버지도 자식에게 그렇게 할 것이다. 그리고 자식이 부모에게 반항하며 들고 일어나 부모를 죽게 할 것이다. 13 그리고 너희는 나 때문에 모든 사람에게 미움을 받게 될 것이다. 그러나 끝까지 참는 사람은 누구나 구원을 받을 것이다.
14 너희는 ‘파괴를 일으키는 끔찍스러운 것’[b]을 볼 것이다. 너희는 그것이 있어서는 안 될 곳에 서 있는 것을 볼 것이다. (이것을 읽는 사람은 이것이 무엇을 뜻하는지 알아야 한다.) 그때[c]에는 유대에 있는 사람들은 산으로 도망하여라. 15 망설이거나 주춤거려서는 안 된다. 지붕 위에 있는 사람은 물건을 가지러 집 안으로 내려가지 말아라. 16 들에 있는 사람은 겉옷을 가지러 집으로 가지 말아라. 17 이런 때 아기 밴 여자들이나 젖먹이가 딸린 여자들은 불행하다. 18 너희는 겨울이나 안식일에 이런 일이 일어나지 않도록 기도하여라. 19 그때가 되면 무섭고 견디기 힘든 어려움이 닥칠 것이기 때문이다. 이렇게 큰 어려움은 세상이 생긴 때부터 이제까지 없었던 일이고 앞으로도 없을 것이다. 20 하나님께서 그 고난의 기간을 줄여 주지 않으신다면, 아무도 살아남지 못할 것이다. 그러나 하나님께서는 당신께서 택하신 사람들을 도와주시려고 그 기간을 줄여 주셨다. 21 그때에 어떤 사람이 ‘보라, 여기에 그리스도가 있다!’ 라고 하거나, 또는 ‘보라, 저기에 그분이 있다!’ 라고 말하더라도, 그 말을 믿지 말아라. 22 거짓 그리스도들과 거짓 예언자들이 나타나서 기적과 놀라운 일들을 해 보여서, 할 수만 있다면 하나님께서 택하신 백성이라도 속이려고 할 것이다. 23 그러니 조심하여라. 내가 이런 일이 일어나기 전에 너희에게 미리 알려 주는 것이다.
인자 예수가 다시 올 때

24 이 고난 뒤에 이어지는 기간 동안에
‘해는 어두워지고
달은 빛을 내지 않을 것이다.
25 별들이 하늘에서 떨어지고
하늘의 천체들이 흔들릴 것이다.’[d]
26 그 뒤에 사람들은 사람의 아들이 구름을 타고 권세와 영광에 싸여 이 세상에 오는 것을 보게 될 것이다. 27 사람의 아들은 천사들을 보내어 그의 택한 백성을 세상 구석구석에서 불러모을 것이다.
28 무화과나무에서 너희가 배울 교훈이 있다. 무화과나무의 가지가 푸르러지고 부드러워지면서 잎이 돋기 시작하면, 너희는 여름이 가까이 온 것을 안다. 29 내가 앞으로 일어나리라고 너희에게 이야기한 일들도 마찬가지이다. 너희가 이런 일들을 보게 되면 사람의 아들이 문 앞에 가까이 온 줄을 알아라. 30 내가 분명히 말한다. 이 세대 사람들이 살아 있는 동안에 이런 일들이 일어날 것이다. 31 하늘과 땅은 사라질지라도, 내 말은 결코 사라지지 않을 것이다.
32 그러나 그날과 그 시간은 아무도 모른다. 하늘에 있는 천사들도 모르고 아버지의 아들도 모른다. 오직 아버지 하나님만이 아신다. 33 조심하여라! 깨어 있어라! 그때가 언제 올지 너희가 모르기 때문이다. 34 그것은 마치 집을 떠나 여행을 가는 사람의 이야기와도 같다. 그는 집을 떠날 때에 종들에게 집을 잘 돌보도록 각자에게 일을 맡긴다. 문지기에게는 깨어서 잘 지키라고 이른다. 35 그러니 너희들도 깨어 있어라. 너희는 집주인이 언제 돌아올지 모르기 때문이다. 그가 저녁에 올지, 한밤중에 올지, 닭이 우는 새벽에 올지, 아침에 올지 너희는 모른다. 36 깨어 있지 않으면 주인이 갑자기 돌아와 너희들이 잠들어 있는 것을 보게 될 것이다. 37 ‘깨어 준비하고 있어라.’ 너희에게 하는 이 말은 모든 사람에게 하는 말이기도 하다.”

The Destruction of the Temple and Signs of the End Times(A)
13 As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!”
2 “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”(B)
3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives(C) opposite the temple, Peter, James, John(D) and Andrew asked him privately, 4 “Tell us, when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are all about to be fulfilled?”
5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you.(E) 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains.
9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues.(F) On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.(G)
12 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death.(H) 13 Everyone will hate you because of me,(I) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(J)
14 “When you see ‘the abomination that causes desolation’[a](K) standing where it[b] does not belong—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let no one on the housetop go down or enter the house to take anything out. 16 Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 17 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!(L) 18 Pray that this will not take place in winter, 19 because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world,(M) until now—and never to be equaled again.(N)
20 “If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them. 21 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.(O) 22 For false messiahs and false prophets(P) will appear and perform signs and wonders(Q) to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 So be on your guard;(R) I have told you everything ahead of time.
24 “But in those days, following that distress,
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
25 the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’[c](S)
26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds(T) with great power and glory. 27 And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.(U)
28 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 29 Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that it[d] is near, right at the door. 30 Truly I tell you, this generation(V) will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.(W) 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.(X)
The Day and Hour Unknown
32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.(Y) 33 Be on guard! Be alert[e]!(Z) You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants(AA) in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”(AB)
