凶狠的佃户

12 耶稣用比喻对他们说:“有人开辟了一个葡萄园,在四周筑起篱笆,又在园中挖了一个榨酒池,建了一座瞭望台,然后把葡萄园租给佃户,就出远门了。

“到葡萄成熟时,园主派一个奴仆去收取他该得的一份。 那些佃户却捉住那个奴仆,打了他一顿,使他空手而归。

“园主又差另一个奴仆去。这一次,佃户不但侮辱他,还把他打得头破血流。 园主再派一个奴仆前往,他们却把他杀掉了。园主后来派去的人不是挨打,就是被杀。 最后只剩下园主的爱子,园主就派他去,以为那些佃户会尊重他的儿子。 这班佃户却彼此商量说,‘这个就是园主的继承人。来吧!我们杀掉他,产业就归我们了。’

“于是他们抓住他,杀了他,把他抛到葡萄园外。 那么,园主会采取什么行动呢?他必定会来杀掉这些佃户,把葡萄园转给别人。 10 圣经上说,

“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石。
11 这是主的作为,
在我们看来奇妙莫测。’

你们没有读过这经文吗?”

12 他们听出这比喻是针对他们说的,就想逮捕耶稣,但又害怕百姓,只好先离开了。

纳税给凯撒的问题

13 后来,他们派了几个法利赛人和希律党人到耶稣那里,企图利用祂所说的话设计陷害祂。

14 他们上前对耶稣说:“老师,我们知道你诚实无伪,不看人的情面,因为你不以貌取人,而是按真理传上帝的道。那么,向凯撒纳税对不对呢? 15 我们该不该纳呢?”耶稣看破他们的阴谋,就说:“你们为什么试探我呢?拿一个银币来给我看。”

16 他们就拿来一个银币,耶稣问他们:“上面刻的是谁的像和名号?”

他们说:“凯撒的。”

17 耶稣说:“属于凯撒的东西应该给凯撒,属于上帝的东西应该给上帝。”

他们听了这话,都很惊奇。

论复活

18 撒都该人向来不相信有复活的事,他们来问耶稣: 19 “老师,摩西为我们写下律例,如果一个人死了,遗下妻子,又没有儿女,他的兄弟就当娶嫂嫂,替哥哥传宗接代。 20 有弟兄七人,老大结了婚,没有孩子就死了。 21 二弟把大嫂娶过来,也没有生孩子就死了,三弟也是一样, 22 七个人都没有留下孩子。最后,那女人也死了。 23 那么,到复活的时候,她将是谁的妻子呢?因为七个人都娶过她。”

24 耶稣说:“你们弄错了,因为你们不明白圣经,也不知道上帝的能力。 25 死人复活之后,将不娶也不嫁,就像天上的天使一样。 26 关于死人复活的事,你们没有读过摩西书有关火中荆棘的记载吗?上帝对摩西说,‘我是亚伯拉罕的上帝,以撒的上帝,雅各的上帝。’ 27 上帝不是死人的上帝,而是活人的上帝。你们大错了!”

最大的诫命

28 有一位律法教师听到他们的辩论,觉得耶稣的回答很精彩,就走过去问道:“诫命中哪一条最重要呢?”

29 耶稣回答道:“最重要的诫命是,‘听啊,以色列!主——我们的上帝是独一的主。 30 你要全心、全情、全意、全力爱主——你的上帝’; 31 其次就是‘要爱邻如己’。再也没有任何诫命比这两条更重要了。”

32 那位律法教师说:“老师,你说的对,上帝只有一位,除祂以外,别无他神。 33 我们要全心、全意、全力爱祂,又要爱邻如己。这样做比献什么祭都好。”

34 耶稣见他答得很有智慧,就告诉他:“你离上帝的国不远了。”此后,没人再敢问耶稣问题了。

基督的身份

35 耶稣在圣殿里教导的时候,问道:“律法教师为什么说基督是大卫的后裔呢? 36 大卫自己曾经受圣灵的感动,说,

“‘主对我主说,
你坐在我的右边,
等我使你的仇敌伏在你脚下。’

37 既然大卫自己称基督为主,基督又怎能是大卫的后裔呢?”百姓听得津津有味。 38 耶稣又教导他们,说:“你们要提防律法教师,他们爱穿着长袍招摇过市,喜欢人们在大街上问候他们, 39 又喜欢会堂里的上座和宴席中的首位。 40 他们侵吞寡妇的财产,还假意做冗长的祷告。这种人必受到更严厉的惩罚。”

穷寡妇的奉献

41 然后,耶稣走到圣殿的奉献箱对面坐下,看大家怎样奉献。很多财主奉献了大量的钱。 42 后来一个穷寡妇来了,投进了相当于一文钱的两个小铜钱。 43 耶稣叫门徒来,说:“我实在告诉你们,这位穷寡妇比其他人奉献的都多, 44 因为他们不过奉献了自己剩余的,但这穷寡妇却奉献了她赖以为生的。”

The Parable of the Vineyard Owner

12 Then(A) He began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard,(B) put a fence around it, dug out a pit for a winepress, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went away. At harvest time he sent(C) a slave(D) to the farmers to collect some of the fruit(E) of the vineyard from the farmers. But they took him, beat(F) him, and sent him away empty-handed.(G) Again he sent another slave to them, and they[a] hit him on the head and treated him shamefully.[b] Then he sent another, and they killed that one. He also sent many others; they beat some and they killed some.

“He still had one to send, a beloved(H) son. Finally(I) he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

“But those tenant farmers said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours!’ So they seized him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.

“Therefore, what will the owner[c](J) of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers and give the vineyard to others. 10 Haven’t you read this Scripture:(K)

The(L) stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.[d](M)
11 This came from the Lord(N)
and is wonderful in our eyes?”[e]

12 Because they knew He had said this parable against them, they were looking for a way to arrest Him, but they were afraid of the crowd. So they left Him and went away.

God and Caesar

13 Then(O) they sent some of the Pharisees(P) and the Herodians(Q) to Him to trap Him by what He said.[f](R) 14 When they came, they said to Him, “Teacher, we know You are truthful and defer to no one, for You don’t show partiality[g](S) but teach truthfully the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes(T) to Caesar or not? 15 Should we pay, or should we not pay?”

But knowing their hypocrisy,(U) He said to them, “Why are you testing(V) Me? Bring Me a denarius(W) to look at.” 16 So they brought one. “Whose image(X) and inscription(Y) is this?” He asked them.

“Caesar’s,” they said.

17 Then Jesus told them, “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”(Z) And they were amazed(AA) at Him.

The Sadducees and the Resurrection

18 Some(AB) Sadducees,(AC) who say there is no resurrection,(AD) came to Him and questioned Him: 19 “Teacher,(AE) Moses(AF) wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies, leaves his wife behind, and leaves no child,(AG) his brother should take the wife(AH) and produce offspring for his brother.(AI)[h] 20 There were seven brothers. The first took a wife, and dying, left no offspring. 21 The second also took her, and he died, leaving no offspring. And the third likewise. 22 So the seven[i] left no offspring. Last of all, the woman died too. 23 In the resurrection, when they rise,[j] whose wife will she be, since the seven had married her?”[k]

24 Jesus told them, “Are you not deceived because you don’t know the Scriptures(AJ) or the power(AK) of God?(AL) 25 For when they rise(AM) from the dead,(AN) they neither marry nor are given in marriage(AO) but are like angels(AP) in heaven. 26 Now concerning the dead being raised—haven’t you read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him: I(AQ) am the God of Abraham(AR) and the God of Isaac(AS) and the God of Jacob?(AT)[l] 27 He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are badly deceived.”

The Primary Commands

28 One(AU) of the scribes(AV) approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked Him, “Which command is the most important of all?”[m]

29 “This is the most important,”[n] Jesus answered:

Listen, Israel! The Lord(AW) our God, the Lord(AX) is One.[o] 30 Love(AY) the Lord your God(AZ) with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind,(BA) and with all your strength.[p](BB)[q]

31 “The second is: Love your neighbor(BC) as yourself.(BD)[r] There is no other command(BE) greater than these.”

32 Then the scribe said to Him, “You are right, Teacher! You have correctly said that He is One, and there is no one(BF) else except Him.(BG) 33 And to love(BH) Him with all your heart, with all your understanding,[s] and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself, is far more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”(BI)

34 When Jesus saw that he answered intelligently, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”(BJ) And no one dared(BK) to question Him any longer.

The Question about the Messiah

35 So(BL) Jesus asked this question as He taught in the temple complex,(BM) “How can the scribes(BN) say that the Messiah(BO) is the Son of David?(BP) 36 David(BQ) himself says by the Holy Spirit:(BR)

The Lord(BS) declared to my Lord,
‘Sit at My right hand(BT)
until I put Your enemies under Your feet.’(BU)[t]

37 David himself calls Him ‘Lord’; how then can the Messiah be his Son?” And the large crowd was listening to Him with delight.

Warning against the Scribes

38 He(BV) also said in His teaching, “Beware of the scribes, who want to go around in long robes,(BW) and who want greetings in the marketplaces,(BX) 39 the front seats(BY) in the synagogues,(BZ) and the places of honor(CA) at banquets.(CB) 40 They devour(CC) widows’(CD) houses and say long prayers(CE) just for show. These will receive harsher punishment.”

The Widow’s Gift

41 Sitting(CF) across from the temple treasury,(CG) He watched how the crowd dropped money into the treasury. Many rich(CH) people were putting in large sums. 42 And a poor(CI) widow came and dropped in two tiny coins worth very little.[u] 43 Summoning His disciples,(CJ) He said to them, “I assure you:(CK) This poor widow has put in more than all those giving to the temple treasury.(CL) 44 For they all gave out of their surplus,(CM) but she out of her poverty(CN) has put in everything she possessed(CO)—all she had to live on.”(CP)

12 Apoi a început să le vorbească în pilde:

– Un om a plantat o vie. A împrejmuit-o cu un gard, a săpat un teasc şi a construit un turn de pază.[a] Apoi a arendat-o unor viticultori şi a plecat într-o călătorie. La vremea roadelor a trimis un sclav la viticultori ca să ia de la ei partea cuvenită din roadele viei.

Viticultorii însă l-au apucat, l-au bătut şi l-au trimis înapoi cu mâinile goale. A trimis din nou la ei un alt sclav, dar şi pe acesta l-au bătut peste cap şi l-au înjosit. A trimis apoi un altul, dar pe acela l-au omorât, şi apoi încă mulţi alţii, dintre care pe unii i-au bătut, iar pe alţii i-au omorât.

Singurul pe care-l mai avea era un fiu preaiubit. În cele din urmă, l-a trimis la ei, spunându-şi: „Pe fiul meu îl vor respecta!“

Dar viticultorii aceia şi-au zis între ei: „Acesta este moştenitorul! Haideţi să-l omorâm, şi moştenirea va fi a noastră!“ Şi l-au apucat, l-au omorât şi l-au scos afară din vie.

Aşadar, ce va face stăpânul viei? Va veni şi-i va nimici pe viticultori, iar via o va da altora. 10 N-aţi citit acest loc din Scriptură unde scrie:

„Piatra pe care au respins-o zidarii
    a devenit piatra din capul unghiului.
11 Domnul a făcut acest lucru
    şi este minunat în ochii noştri!“?[b]

12 Ei au căutat să-L prindă, dar le-a fost frică de popor; căci ei ştiau că împotriva lor spusese Isus pilda. Aşa că L-au lăsat şi au plecat.

Tributul datorat Cezarului

13 I-au trimis la El pe câţiva dintre farisei şi dintre irodieni[c] ca să-L prindă în cursă cu vorba. 14 Ei au venit şi I-au zis:

– Învăţătorule, ştim că eşti corect, fără să-Ţi pese de nimeni, căci nu cauţi la faţa omului, ci îi înveţi pe oameni calea lui Dumnezeu în adevăr. Se cuvine să plătim tribut Cezarului[d] sau nu? Să plătim sau să nu plătim?

15 El însă, înţelegând ipocrizia lor, le-a zis:

– De ce Mă puneţi la încercare? Aduceţi-Mi un denar[e], să-l văd!

16 Ei I-au adus. Isus i-a întrebat:

– Chipul acesta şi inscripţia, ale cui sunt?

– Ale Cezarului, I-au răspuns ei.

17 Isus le-a zis:

– Daţi deci Cezarului ce este al Cezarului, iar lui Dumnezeu ce este al lui Dumnezeu![f]

Ei au rămas uimiţi de El.

Despre înviere

18 Au venit la El saducheii[g], care zic că nu există înviere, şi L-au întrebat:

19 – Învăţătorule, Moise ne-a scris că dacă fratele cuiva moare fără să aibă copii şi-i rămâne astfel doar soţia, fratele acestuia trebuie să se căsătorească cu văduva şi să-i ridice un urmaş fratelui său.[h] 20 Erau şapte fraţi. Primul şi-a luat o soţie, dar a murit fără să lase vreun urmaş. 21 Al doilea s-a căsătorit cu văduva, dar şi el a murit fără să lase vreun urmaş. Aşa s-a întâmplat şi cu al treilea. 22 Şi nici unul din cei şapte n-a lăsat vreun urmaş. Femeia a murit ultima dintre toţi. 23 La înviere, (când se vor scula,)[i] soţia căruia dintre ei va fi ea? Căci toţi şapte au avut-o de soţie!

24 Isus le-a răspuns:

– Oare nu vă rătăciţi voi tocmai pentru că nu cunoaşteţi nici Scripturile şi nici puterea lui Dumnezeu? 25 Căci atunci când se vor scula din morţi, nici nu se vor mai însura, nici nu se vor mai mărita, ci vor fi ca îngerii din ceruri. 26 Iar cu privire la faptul că cei morţi sunt înviaţi, n-aţi citit în cartea lui Moise, acolo unde scrie despre tufiş, cum i-a vorbit Dumnezeu şi i-a zis: „Eu sunt Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Dumnezeul lui Isaac şi Dumnezeul lui Iacov.“[j]? 27 El nu este un Dumnezeu al celor morţi, ci al celor vii! Sunteţi foarte rătăciţi!

Cea mai mare poruncă

28 Unul dintre cărturari venise şi-i auzise discutând. Când a văzut că Isus le-a răspuns bine, L-a întrebat:

– Care este cea dintâi poruncă dintre toate?

29 Isus i-a răspuns:

– Cea dintâi poruncă este: „Ascultă, Israele! Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, este singurul Domn.[k] 30 Să-L iubeşti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, cu toată mintea ta şi cu toată puterea ta.“[l] (Aceasta este cea dintâi poruncă.)[m] 31 Iar a doua este următoarea: „Să-l iubeşti pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi.“[n] Nu există altă poruncă mai mare decât acestea.

32 Cărturarul I-a zis:

– Bine, Învăţătorule! Este adevărat ceea ce ai spus, şi anume că El este Unul singur, că nu este altul în afară de El 33 şi că a-L iubi pe El cu toată inima, cu toată priceperea şi cu toată puterea şi a-l iubi pe semenul tău ca pe tine însuţi este mult mai mult decât toate arderile de tot şi decât toate jertfele.

34 Când a văzut Isus că răspunsese cu înţelepciune, i-a zis:

– Tu nu eşti departe de Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu.

Şi nimeni nu mai îndrăznea să-i pună vreo întrebare.

Al cui fiu este Cristos?

35 În timp ce dădea învăţătură în Templu, Isus a întrebat:

– Cum de zic cărturarii despre Cristos că este fiul lui David? 36 David însuşi, în Duhul Sfânt, spune:

„Domnul I-a zis Domnului meu:[o]
    «Şezi la dreapta Mea,
până-Ţi voi pune duşmanii
    sub picioare!»“[p]

37 David însuşi Îl numeşte „Domn“; deci cum este El fiul lui?

Mulţimea cea mare Îl asculta cu plăcere.

38 În învăţătura Lui, spunea: „Feriţi-vă de cărturari, cărora le place să umble în robe lungi, să fie salutaţi prin pieţe 39 şi să li se dea scaunele de onoare în sinagogi şi locurile de onoare la mese. 40 Ei devorează casele văduvelor şi fac rugăciuni lungi de ochii lumii. Aceştia vor primi o condamnare mult mai mare.“

Văduva săracă şi dărnicia ei

41 S-a aşezat în faţa vistieriei[q] Templului şi se uita cum punea mulţimea bani în vistierie. Mulţi din cei bogaţi puneau mult. 42 A venit şi o văduvă săracă şi a pus două lepta[r], care fac un codrantes[s].

43 Isus i-a chemat pe ucenicii Lui şi le-a zis: „Adevărat vă spun că această văduvă săracă a pus mai mult decât toţi cei care au pus în vistierie, 44 pentru că toţi au pus din abundenţa lor, dar ea, din sărăcia ei, a pus tot ce avea, tot ce-i mai rămăsese ca să trăiască.“

12 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.

And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.

And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.'

And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.

What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.

10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:

11 This was the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

12 And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.

13 And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words.

14 And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

18 Then come unto him the Sadducees, which say there is no resurrection; and they asked him, saying,

19 Master, Moses wrote unto us, If a man's brother die, and leave his wife behind him, and leave no children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.

20 Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed.

21 And the second took her, and died, neither left he any seed: and the third likewise.

22 And the seven had her, and left no seed: last of all the woman died also.

23 In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them? for the seven had her to wife.

24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?

25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

26 And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?

29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:

33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.

35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the son of David?

36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

38 And he said unto them in his doctrine, Beware of the scribes, which love to go in long clothing, and love salutations in the marketplaces,

39 And the chief seats in the synagogues, and the uppermost rooms at feasts:

40 Which devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayers: these shall receive greater damnation.

41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.

42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.

43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:

44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
