15 那 时 ， 有 法 利 赛 人 和 文 士 从 耶 路 撒 冷 来 见 耶 稣 ， 说 ：
2 你 的 门 徒 为 甚 麽 犯 古 人 的 遗 传 呢 ？ 因 为 吃 饭 的 时 候 ， 他 们 不 洗 手 。
3 耶 稣 回 答 说 ： 你 们 为 甚 麽 因 着 你 们 的 遗 传 犯 神 的 诫 命 呢 ？
4 神 说 ： 当 孝 敬 父 母 ； 又 说 ： 咒 骂 父 母 的 ， 必 治 死 他 。
5 你 们 倒 说 ： 无 论 何 人 对 父 母 说 ： 我 所 当 奉 给 你 的 已 经 作 了 供 献 ，
6 他 就 可 以 不 孝 敬 父 母 。 这 就 是 你 们 藉 着 遗 传 ， 废 了 神 的 诫 命 。
7 假 冒 为 善 的 人 哪 ， 以 赛 亚 指 着 你 们 说 的 预 言 是 不 错 的 。 他 说 ：
8 这 百 姓 用 嘴 唇 尊 敬 我 ， 心 却 远 离 我 ；
9 他 们 将 人 的 吩 咐 当 作 道 理 教 导 人 ， 所 以 拜 我 也 是 枉 然 。
10 耶 稣 就 叫 了 众 人 来 ， 对 他 们 说 ： 你 们 要 听 ， 也 要 明 白 。
11 入 口 的 不 能 污 秽 人 ， 出 口 的 乃 能 污 秽 人 。
12 当 时 ， 门 徒 进 前 来 对 他 说 ： 法 利 赛 人 听 见 这 话 ， 不 服 （ 原 文 是 跌 倒 ） ， 你 知 道 麽 ？
13 耶 稣 回 答 说 ： 凡 栽 种 的 物 ， 若 不 是 我 天 父 栽 种 的 ， 必 要 拔 出 来 。
14 任 凭 他 们 罢 ！ 他 们 是 瞎 眼 领 路 的 ； 若 是 瞎 子 领 瞎 子 ， 两 个 人 都 要 掉 在 坑 里 。
15 彼 得 对 耶 稣 说 ： 请 将 这 比 喻 讲 给 我 们 听 。
16 耶 稣 说 ： 你 们 到 如 今 还 不 明 白 麽 ？
17 岂 不 知 凡 入 口 的 ， 是 运 到 肚 子 里 ， 又 落 在 茅 厕 里 麽 ？
18 惟 独 出 口 的 ， 是 从 心 里 发 出 来 的 ， 这 才 污 秽 人 。
19 因 为 从 心 里 发 出 来 的 ， 有 恶 念 、 凶 杀 、 奸 淫 、 苟 合 、 偷 盗 、 妄 证 、 谤 ? 。
20 这 都 是 污 秽 人 的 ； 至 於 不 洗 手 吃 饭 ， 那 却 不 污 秽 人 。
21 耶 稣 离 开 那 里 ， 退 到 推 罗 、 西 顿 的 境 内 去 。
22 有 一 个 迦 南 妇 人 ， 从 那 地 方 出 来 ， 喊 着 说 ： 主 阿 ， 大 卫 的 子 孙 ， 可 怜 我 ！ 我 女 儿 被 鬼 附 得 甚 苦 。
23 耶 稣 却 一 言 不 答 。 门 徒 进 前 来 ， 求 他 说 ： 这 妇 人 在 我 们 後 头 喊 叫 ， 请 打 发 他 走 罢 。
24 耶 稣 说 ： 我 奉 差 遣 不 过 是 到 以 色 列 家 迷 失 的 羊 那 里 去 。
25 那 妇 人 来 拜 他 ， 说 ： 主 阿 ， 帮 助 我 ！
26 他 回 答 说 ： 不 好 拿 儿 女 的 饼 丢 给 狗 吃 。
27 妇 人 说 ： 主 阿 ， 不 错 ； 但 是 狗 也 吃 他 主 人 桌 子 上 掉 下 来 的 碎 渣 儿 。
28 耶 稣 说 ： 妇 人 ， 你 的 信 心 是 大 的 ！ 照 你 所 要 的 ， 给 你 成 全 了 罢 。 从 那 时 候 ， 他 女 儿 就 好 了 。
29 耶 稣 离 开 那 地 方 ， 来 到 靠 近 加 利 利 的 海 边 ， 就 上 山 坐 下 。
30 有 许 多 人 到 他 那 里 ， 带 着 瘸 子 、 瞎 子 、 哑 吧 、 有 残 疾 的 ， 和 好 些 别 的 病 人 ， 都 放 在 他 脚 前 ； 他 就 治 好 了 他 们 。
31 甚 至 众 人 都 希 奇 ； 因 为 看 见 哑 吧 说 话 ， 残 疾 的 痊 愈 ， 瘸 子 行 走 ， 瞎 子 看 见 ， 他 们 就 归 荣 耀 给 以 色 列 的 神 。
32 耶 稣 叫 门 徒 来 ， 说 ： 我 怜 悯 这 众 人 ， 因 为 他 们 同 我 在 这 里 已 经 三 天 ， 也 没 有 吃 的 了 。 我 不 愿 意 叫 他 们 饿 着 回 去 ， 恐 怕 在 路 上 困 乏 。
33 门 徒 说 ： 我 们 在 这 野 地 ， 那 里 有 这 麽 多 的 饼 叫 这 许 多 人 吃 饱 呢 ？
34 耶 稣 说 ： 你 们 有 多 少 饼 ？ 他 们 说 ： 有 七 个 ， 还 有 几 条 小 鱼 。
35 他 就 吩 咐 众 人 坐 在 地 上 ，
36 拿 着 这 七 个 饼 和 几 条 鱼 ， 祝 谢 了 ， 擘 开 ， 递 给 门 徒 ； 门 徒 又 递 给 众 人 。
37 众 人 都 吃 ， 并 且 吃 饱 了 ， 收 拾 剩 下 的 零 碎 ， 装 满 了 七 个 筐 子 。
38 吃 的 人 ， 除 了 妇 女 孩 子 ， 共 有 四 千 。
39 耶 稣 叫 众 人 散 去 ， 就 上 船 ， 来 到 马 加 丹 的 境 界 。
16 法 利 赛 人 和 撒 都 该 人 来 试 探 耶 稣 ， 请 他 从 天 上 显 个 神 迹 给 他 们 看 。
2 耶 稣 回 答 说 ： 晚 上 天 发 红 ， 你 们 就 说 ： 天 必 要 晴 。
3 早 晨 天 发 红 ， 又 发 黑 ， 你 们 就 说 ： 今 日 必 有 风 雨 。 你 们 知 道 分 辨 天 上 的 气 色 ， 倒 不 能 分 辨 这 时 候 的 神 迹 。
4 一 个 邪 恶 淫 乱 的 世 代 求 神 迹 ， 除 了 约 拿 的 神 迹 以 外 ， 再 没 有 神 迹 给 他 看 。 耶 稣 就 离 开 他 们 去 了 。
5 门 徒 渡 到 那 边 去 ， 忘 了 带 饼 。
6 耶 稣 对 他 们 说 ： 你 们 要 谨 慎 ， 防 备 法 利 赛 人 和 撒 都 该 人 的 酵 。
7 门 徒 彼 此 议 论 说 ： 这 是 因 为 我 们 没 有 带 饼 罢 。
8 耶 稣 看 出 来 ， 就 说 ： 你 们 这 小 信 的 人 ， 为 甚 麽 因 为 没 有 饼 彼 此 议 论 呢 ？
9 你 们 还 不 明 白 麽 ？ 不 记 得 那 五 个 饼 分 给 五 千 人 、 又 收 拾 了 多 少 篮 子 的 零 碎 麽 ？
10 也 不 记 得 那 七 个 饼 分 给 四 千 人 、 又 收 拾 了 多 少 筐 子 的 零 碎 麽 ？
11 我 对 你 们 说 ： 要 防 备 法 利 赛 人 和 撒 都 该 人 的 酵 ， 这 话 不 是 指 着 饼 说 的 ， 你 们 怎 麽 不 明 白 呢 ？
12 门 徒 这 才 晓 得 他 说 的 不 是 叫 他 们 防 备 饼 的 酵 ， 乃 是 防 备 法 利 赛 人 和 撒 都 该 人 的 教 训 。
13 耶 稣 到 了 该 撒 利 亚 腓 立 比 的 境 内 ， 就 问 门 徒 说 ： 人 说 我 （ 有 古 卷 没 有 我 字 ） 人 子 是 谁 ？
14 他 们 说 ： 有 人 说 是 施 洗 的 约 翰 ； 有 人 说 是 以 利 亚 ； 又 有 人 说 是 耶 利 米 或 是 先 知 里 的 一 位 。
15 耶 稣 说 ： 你 们 说 我 是 谁 ？
16 西 门 彼 得 回 答 说 ： 你 是 基 督 ， 是 永 生 神 的 儿 子 。
17 耶 稣 对 他 说 ： 西 门 巴 约 拿 ， 你 是 有 福 的 ！ 因 为 这 不 是 属 血 肉 的 指 示 你 的 ， 乃 是 我 在 天 上 的 父 指 示 的 。
18 我 还 告 诉 你 ， 你 是 彼 得 ， 我 要 把 我 的 教 会 建 造 在 这 磐 石 上 ； 阴 间 的 权 柄 （ 权 柄 ： 原 文 是 门 ） ， 不 能 胜 过 他 。
19 我 要 把 天 国 的 钥 匙 给 你 ， 凡 你 在 地 上 所 捆 绑 的 ， 在 天 上 也 要 捆 绑 ； 凡 你 在 地 上 所 释 放 的 ， 在 天 上 也 要 释 放 。
20 当 下 ， 耶 稣 嘱 咐 门 徒 ， 不 可 对 人 说 他 是 基 督 。
21 从 此 ， 耶 稣 才 指 示 门 徒 ， 他 必 须 上 耶 路 撒 冷 去 ， 受 长 老 、 祭 司 长 、 文 士 许 多 的 苦 ， 并 且 被 杀 ， 第 三 日 复 活 。

25 因 为 ， 凡 要 救 自 己 生 命 （ 生 命 ： 或 作 灵 魂 ； 下 同 ） 的 ， 必 丧 掉 生 命 ； 凡 为 我 丧 掉 生 命 的 ， 必 得 着 生 命 。
26 人 若 赚 得 全 世 界 ， 赔 上 自 己 的 生 命 ， 有 甚 麽 益 处 呢 ？ 人 还 能 拿 甚 麽 换 生 命 呢 ？
27 人 子 要 在 他 父 的 荣 耀 里 ， 同 着 众 使 者 降 临 ； 那 时 候 ， 他 要 照 各 人 的 行 为 报 应 各 人 。
28 我 实 在 告 诉 你 们 ， 站 在 这 里 的 ， 有 人 在 没 尝 死 味 以 前 必 看 见 人 子 降 临 在 他 的 国 里 。

上帝的律法与人类的传统
15 一些律法师和法利赛人从耶路撒冷来见耶稣，他们说： 2 “您的门徒为什么不保持我们祖先遗留下来的传统？他们不洗手就吃东西！”
3 耶稣回答他们∶“为什么你们要为了自己的传统而违背上帝的命令呢？ 4 上帝说∶‘要孝敬父母。’ [a]上帝还说∶‘侮辱父母的人必被处死。’ [b] 5 可是你们却教导一个人可以对父母说∶‘我有可用来帮助你们的东西，但是我不用它帮助你们，我要把它献给上帝。’ 6 你们这是在教他们不必孝敬父亲，所以你们在教执行上帝的话并不重要，你们认为更重要的是保持你们的传统。 7 虚伪的人啊！以赛亚对你们的预言是准确的：
8 ‘这些人说他们尊敬我，
但实际上我对他们无关紧要。
9 他们对我的崇拜毫无价值，
他们教导的只是人定的规矩。’” (A)
10 耶稣把人们叫到身边，对他们说∶“你们不但要听，而且还要理解我的话。 11 吃进嘴里的东西不会玷污一个人，从嘴里说出来的话才会玷污他。”
12 耶稣的门徒走过来对他说∶“您知道吗？法利赛人听见您的话，他们被激怒了。”
13 耶稣答道∶“不是我的天父栽种的植物是要被拔掉的， 14 随他们去吧，他们是盲人领盲人。如果盲人领盲人，最终他们都会跌进沟里。”
15 彼得说∶“请给我们解释一下您刚才说的那个比喻。”
16 耶稣说∶“你们还不能理解吗？ 17 你们难道不知道吗？从嘴里吃到肚子里的东西，又会从肚子里排泄出去； 18 而从嘴里说出来的话是来自内心的，它才会玷污一个人。 19 邪念、谋杀、通奸、不道德的性行为、偷盗、谎言、诽谤都源于人的内心。 20 正是这些东西使人们受到玷污，而用脏手吃东西并不会玷污一个人。”
耶稣帮助非犹太女子
21 耶稣离开那里，到推罗和西顿去了。 22 当地的一个迦南女子来见他，喊着∶“主啊，大卫的子孙，可怜可怜我吧！我女儿被鬼附体，痛苦万分。”
23 耶稣对她一言不发。门徒们走近耶稣说∶“您让她走开吧，她总跟在我们后边嚷嚷。”
24 耶稣答道∶“上帝只派我到迷途的以色列人中间来。”
25 那女子走过来跪在面前说∶“主，请帮帮我吧！”
26 耶稣回答说∶“我不该把给孩子吃的东西拿去喂狗。”
27 女子答道∶“您说的对，主，不过连狗也能吃从主人桌上掉下来的残渣剩饭。”
28 耶稣说∶“妇人，你有很强的信仰！祝你如愿以偿。”顿时，她女儿的病就好了。
耶稣治愈很多人
29 耶稣离开那里，来到加利利湖边。他登上一座山坡，坐了下来。
30 很多人聚到他身边，他们带来中有瘸腿的、失明的、残废的、聋哑的和其它各种各样的病人，他们躺在耶稣脚边，耶稣把他们一一治好了。 31 众人都为此感到惊讶。他们亲眼看见聋哑人开口说话，残疾人恢复正常，瘸腿的能行走，盲人见到光明。他们禁不住地赞美以色列的上帝。
耶稣向四千多人提供食物
32 耶稣把门徒叫到身边，对他们说∶“我很同情他们，这些人和我在一起已经三天了，也没有吃的东西。我不想让他们饿着肚子回去，他们可能会在路上晕倒的。”
33 门徒问∶“在这荒郊野外，我们到哪儿去找足够的食物给这么多人吃呀？”
34 耶稣问∶“你们有多少块面包？”
他们说∶“七块面包和几条小鱼。”
35 耶稣吩咐人群坐在地上。 36 他拿着七块面包和鱼，感谢上帝，然后他掰开食物，递给门徒们，他们又把食物分给了众人。 37 所有的人都吃饱了，之后门徒们收拾起剩下的食物，足足装满了七筐。 38 当时吃饭的人除了女人和孩子之外，大约有四千个男人。 39 吃完饭，耶稣打发人们回家去了，然后乘船到马加丹地区去了。
一些人怀疑耶稣的权威
16 法利赛人和撒都该人来试探耶稣，他们让耶稣给他们显示一个来自天堂的神迹。
2 耶稣回答∶“你们看到日落时，能辩别天气。如果天边有红霞，你们会说∶‘明天一定是晴天。’ 3 日出时，天色又红又暗，你们会说∶‘暴风雨要来了。’你们通过这些迹象来分辨天色，同样，你们也看到当今正在发生的事情，它们也是一些迹象，但是你们却分辩不出它们的含义。 4 邪恶、没信仰的一代人寻求神迹，可是，除了约拿的神迹以外，没有别的神迹会给他们看。”说完，耶稣离开了他们。
耶稣的门徒误解他
5 耶稣和门徒们来到湖（加利利湖）对岸，但是门徒们忘了带面包。 6 耶稣告诉门徒们∶“当心！要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵母。”
7 门徒们私下议论说∶“大概是因为我们忘带面包了，他才这么说。”
8 耶稣知道门徒们在说什么，对他们说∶“你们这些没有什么信仰的人，你们为什么私下议论说没有面包呢？ 9 你们还不明白吗？你们难道忘了我用五块面包让五千人吃饱饭后，你们捡了多少筐剩饭吗？ 10 你们难道也忘了我用七块面包让四千人吃饱了饭，你们捡了多少筐剩饭吗？ 11 你们怎么就不明白，我刚才对你们说的根本就不是面包的事，我是说你们要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵母（影响）。”
12 门徒们这才明白过来，耶稣并不是要他们警惕做面包用的酵母，而是要警惕法利赛人和撒都该人的教义。
彼得说耶稣是基督
13 耶稣来到该撒利亚腓立比地区，他问门徒∶“人们都说我是 [c]谁？”
14 门徒们答道∶“有人说您是施洗者约翰，有人说您是以利亚，有人说您是耶利米 [d]，或是一位先知。”
15 耶稣问门徒∶“你们说我是谁？”
16 西门彼得 [e]回答说∶“您是基督，是活生生的上帝的儿子。”
17 耶稣对他说∶“约拿之子，西门，你是有福的，因为向你揭示这一切的，不是凡人，而是我的天父。 18 我还要告诉你，你是彼得，我要把我的教会建立在这块磐石上，死亡的力量 [f]也无法征服它。 19 我把天堂的钥匙交给你。你在地上所做的审判，就是上帝的审判；你在地上许下的宽恕，就是上帝的宽恕。” [g] 20 耶稣严厉地告诫门徒，不要告诉别人他是基督。
耶稣谈到自己必死
21 从此，耶稣开始向门徒们解释说他必须去耶路撒冷，年长的犹太首领、祭司长和律法师必会让他遭受到很多苦难。他还告诉他们，他必被杀害，并在第三天必定复活。
22 彼得把耶稣拉到一边，责备他说∶“主，打消这个想法吧！这事绝不会落到你身上。”
23 耶稣转身对彼得说∶“走开，撒旦 [h]！你是我的绊脚石，你不关心上帝的事，而只关心凡人认为重要的事。”
24 接着耶稣对门徒们说∶“如果谁想成为我的门徒，他就必须舍弃自己，背起他的十字架跟随我。 25 凡是想保全生命的人都将丧生；凡是为我牺牲生命的人都会得到生命。 26 如果一个人失去了生命，即使他得到了整个世界，也毫无价值。一个人用什么也无法赎回他的生命。 27 人子将在天父的荣耀之中和他的天使们一起降临。那时，他会根据每个人的所作所为来报应他们。 28 我实话告诉你们，站在这里的一些人在经历死亡之前，会看到人子降临在他的王国里。”

That Which Defiles(A)
15 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”(B)
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a](C) and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b](D) 5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ 6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.(E)’[c](F)”
10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,(G) but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”(H)
12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted(I) will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Leave them; they are blind guides.[d](J) If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”(K)
15 Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”(L)
16 “Are you still so dull?”(M) Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart,(N) and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(O) 20 These are what defile a person;(P) but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman(Q)
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.(R) 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David,(S) have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”(T)
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”(U)
25 The woman came and knelt before him.(V) “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith!(W) Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand(X)(Y)(Z)
29 Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. 30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.(AA) 31 The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.(AB)
32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people;(AC) they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
33 His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”
34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
35 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them(AD) and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.(AE) 38 The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.
The Demand for a Sign(AF)
16 The Pharisees and Sadducees(AG) came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.(AH)
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.[e](AI) 4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.”(AJ) Jesus then left them and went away.
The Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees
5 When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 6 “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”(AK)
7 They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”
8 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith,(AL) why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? 9 Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(AM) 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(AN) 11 How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.(AO)
Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah(AP)
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist;(AQ) others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”(AR)
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”(AS)
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood,(AT) but by my Father in heaven.(AU) 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[f](AV) and on this rock I will build my church,(AW) and the gates of Hades[g] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys(AX) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[h] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[i] loosed in heaven.”(AY) 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone(AZ) that he was the Messiah.
Jesus Predicts His Death(BA)
21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem(BB) and suffer many things(BC) at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law,(BD) and that he must be killed(BE) and on the third day(BF) be raised to life.(BG)
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!(BH) You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.(BI) 25 For whoever wants to save their life[j] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.(BJ) 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man(BK) is going to come(BL) in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.(BM)
28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

上帝的律法与人类的传统
15 一些律法师和法利赛人从耶路撒冷来见耶稣，他们说： 2 “您的门徒为什么不保持我们祖先遗留下来的传统？他们不洗手就吃东西！”
3 耶稣回答他们∶“为什么你们要为了自己的传统而违背上帝的命令呢？ 4 上帝说∶‘要孝敬父母。’ [a]上帝还说∶‘侮辱父母的人必被处死。’ [b] 5 可是你们却教导一个人可以对父母说∶‘我有可用来帮助你们的东西，但是我不用它帮助你们，我要把它献给上帝。’ 6 你们这是在教他们不必孝敬父亲，所以你们在教执行上帝的话并不重要，你们认为更重要的是保持你们的传统。 7 虚伪的人啊！以赛亚对你们的预言是准确的：
8 ‘这些人说他们尊敬我，
但实际上我对他们无关紧要。
9 他们对我的崇拜毫无价值，
他们教导的只是人定的规矩。’” (A)
10 耶稣把人们叫到身边，对他们说∶“你们不但要听，而且还要理解我的话。 11 吃进嘴里的东西不会玷污一个人，从嘴里说出来的话才会玷污他。”
12 耶稣的门徒走过来对他说∶“您知道吗？法利赛人听见您的话，他们被激怒了。”
13 耶稣答道∶“不是我的天父栽种的植物是要被拔掉的， 14 随他们去吧，他们是盲人领盲人。如果盲人领盲人，最终他们都会跌进沟里。”
15 彼得说∶“请给我们解释一下您刚才说的那个比喻。”
16 耶稣说∶“你们还不能理解吗？ 17 你们难道不知道吗？从嘴里吃到肚子里的东西，又会从肚子里排泄出去； 18 而从嘴里说出来的话是来自内心的，它才会玷污一个人。 19 邪念、谋杀、通奸、不道德的性行为、偷盗、谎言、诽谤都源于人的内心。 20 正是这些东西使人们受到玷污，而用脏手吃东西并不会玷污一个人。”
耶稣帮助非犹太女子
21 耶稣离开那里，到推罗和西顿去了。 22 当地的一个迦南女子来见他，喊着∶“主啊，大卫的子孙，可怜可怜我吧！我女儿被鬼附体，痛苦万分。”
23 耶稣对她一言不发。门徒们走近耶稣说∶“您让她走开吧，她总跟在我们后边嚷嚷。”
24 耶稣答道∶“上帝只派我到迷途的以色列人中间来。”
25 那女子走过来跪在面前说∶“主，请帮帮我吧！”
26 耶稣回答说∶“我不该把给孩子吃的东西拿去喂狗。”
27 女子答道∶“您说的对，主，不过连狗也能吃从主人桌上掉下来的残渣剩饭。”
28 耶稣说∶“妇人，你有很强的信仰！祝你如愿以偿。”顿时，她女儿的病就好了。
耶稣治愈很多人
29 耶稣离开那里，来到加利利湖边。他登上一座山坡，坐了下来。
30 很多人聚到他身边，他们带来中有瘸腿的、失明的、残废的、聋哑的和其它各种各样的病人，他们躺在耶稣脚边，耶稣把他们一一治好了。 31 众人都为此感到惊讶。他们亲眼看见聋哑人开口说话，残疾人恢复正常，瘸腿的能行走，盲人见到光明。他们禁不住地赞美以色列的上帝。
耶稣向四千多人提供食物
32 耶稣把门徒叫到身边，对他们说∶“我很同情他们，这些人和我在一起已经三天了，也没有吃的东西。我不想让他们饿着肚子回去，他们可能会在路上晕倒的。”
33 门徒问∶“在这荒郊野外，我们到哪儿去找足够的食物给这么多人吃呀？”
34 耶稣问∶“你们有多少块面包？”
他们说∶“七块面包和几条小鱼。”
35 耶稣吩咐人群坐在地上。 36 他拿着七块面包和鱼，感谢上帝，然后他掰开食物，递给门徒们，他们又把食物分给了众人。 37 所有的人都吃饱了，之后门徒们收拾起剩下的食物，足足装满了七筐。 38 当时吃饭的人除了女人和孩子之外，大约有四千个男人。 39 吃完饭，耶稣打发人们回家去了，然后乘船到马加丹地区去了。
一些人怀疑耶稣的权威
16 法利赛人和撒都该人来试探耶稣，他们让耶稣给他们显示一个来自天堂的神迹。
2 耶稣回答∶“你们看到日落时，能辩别天气。如果天边有红霞，你们会说∶‘明天一定是晴天。’ 3 日出时，天色又红又暗，你们会说∶‘暴风雨要来了。’你们通过这些迹象来分辨天色，同样，你们也看到当今正在发生的事情，它们也是一些迹象，但是你们却分辩不出它们的含义。 4 邪恶、没信仰的一代人寻求神迹，可是，除了约拿的神迹以外，没有别的神迹会给他们看。”说完，耶稣离开了他们。
耶稣的门徒误解他
5 耶稣和门徒们来到湖（加利利湖）对岸，但是门徒们忘了带面包。 6 耶稣告诉门徒们∶“当心！要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵母。”
7 门徒们私下议论说∶“大概是因为我们忘带面包了，他才这么说。”
8 耶稣知道门徒们在说什么，对他们说∶“你们这些没有什么信仰的人，你们为什么私下议论说没有面包呢？ 9 你们还不明白吗？你们难道忘了我用五块面包让五千人吃饱饭后，你们捡了多少筐剩饭吗？ 10 你们难道也忘了我用七块面包让四千人吃饱了饭，你们捡了多少筐剩饭吗？ 11 你们怎么就不明白，我刚才对你们说的根本就不是面包的事，我是说你们要提防法利赛人和撒都该人的酵母（影响）。”
12 门徒们这才明白过来，耶稣并不是要他们警惕做面包用的酵母，而是要警惕法利赛人和撒都该人的教义。
彼得说耶稣是基督
13 耶稣来到该撒利亚腓立比地区，他问门徒∶“人们都说我是 [c]谁？”
14 门徒们答道∶“有人说您是施洗者约翰，有人说您是以利亚，有人说您是耶利米 [d]，或是一位先知。”
15 耶稣问门徒∶“你们说我是谁？”
16 西门彼得 [e]回答说∶“您是基督，是活生生的上帝的儿子。”
17 耶稣对他说∶“约拿之子，西门，你是有福的，因为向你揭示这一切的，不是凡人，而是我的天父。 18 我还要告诉你，你是彼得，我要把我的教会建立在这块磐石上，死亡的力量 [f]也无法征服它。 19 我把天堂的钥匙交给你。你在地上所做的审判，就是上帝的审判；你在地上许下的宽恕，就是上帝的宽恕。” [g] 20 耶稣严厉地告诫门徒，不要告诉别人他是基督。
耶稣谈到自己必死

24 接着耶稣对门徒们说∶“如果谁想成为我的门徒，他就必须舍弃自己，背起他的十字架跟随我。 25 凡是想保全生命的人都将丧生；凡是为我牺牲生命的人都会得到生命。 26 如果一个人失去了生命，即使他得到了整个世界，也毫无价值。一个人用什么也无法赎回他的生命。 27 人子将在天父的荣耀之中和他的天使们一起降临。那时，他会根据每个人的所作所为来报应他们。 28 我实话告诉你们，站在这里的一些人在经历死亡之前，会看到人子降临在他的王国里。”

15 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don’t wash their hands before they eat!”(B)
3 Jesus replied, “And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God said, ‘Honor your father and mother’[a](C) and ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[b](D) 5 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is ‘devoted to God,’ 6 they are not to ‘honor their father or mother’ with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;

10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,(G) but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”(H)
12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”
13 He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted(I) will be pulled up by the roots. 14 Leave them; they are blind guides.[d](J) If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”(K)
15 Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”(L)
16 “Are you still so dull?”(M) Jesus asked them. 17 “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart,(N) and these defile them. 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.(O) 20 These are what defile a person;(P) but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman(Q)
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.(R) 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David,(S) have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”(T)
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”(U)
25 The woman came and knelt before him.(V) “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith!(W) Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand(X)(Y)(Z)
29 Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. 30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.(AA) 31 The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.(AB)
32 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people;(AC) they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.”
33 His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?”
34 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.”
35 He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. 36 Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them(AD) and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. 37 They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.(AE) 38 The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 After Jesus had sent the crowd away, he got into the boat and went to the vicinity of Magadan.
The Demand for a Sign(AF)
16 The Pharisees and Sadducees(AG) came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven.(AH)
2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.[e](AI) 4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.”(AJ) Jesus then left them and went away.
The Yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees
5 When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 6 “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”(AK)
7 They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”
8 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith,(AL) why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? 9 Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(AM) 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered?(AN) 11 How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” 12 Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.(AO)
Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah(AP)
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist;(AQ) others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”(AR)
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”(AS)
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood,(AT) but by my Father in heaven.(AU) 18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[f](AV) and on this rock I will build my church,(AW) and the gates of Hades[g] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys(AX) of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[h] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[i] loosed in heaven.”(AY) 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone(AZ) that he was the Messiah.
Jesus Predicts His Death(BA)
21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem(BB) and suffer many things(BC) at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law,(BD) and that he must be killed(BE) and on the third day(BF) be raised to life.(BG)
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!”
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!(BH) You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.(BI) 25 For whoever wants to save their life[j] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.(BJ) 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man(BK) is going to come(BL) in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.(BM)
28 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
