39 祂稍往前走，俯伏在地上祷告：“我父啊！如果可以，求你撤去此杯。然而，愿你的旨意成就，而非我的意愿。”

37 ଯୀଶୁ ପିତର ଓ ଜେବଦୀଙ୍କ ଦୁଇ ପୁଅଙ୍କୁ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ନେଲେ। ତା'ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଦୁଃଖ ଓ ବ୍ୟାକୁଳତା ଅନୁଭବ କଲେ। 38 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋର ହୃଦୟ ଏତେ ଦୁଃଖରେ ଭରି ଯାଇଛି ଯେ, ସତେ ଯେପରି ପ୍ରାଣ ବାହାରି ଯିବା ଉପରେ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମୋ’ ସହିତ ଏଠାରେ ଚେଇଁ କରି ରୁହ ଓ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କର।”
39 ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପାଖରୁ କିଛି ଦୂରକୁ ଗ୍ଭଲିକରି ଯିବାପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ତଳେ ଉବୁଡ଼ ହୋଇ ପଡ଼ିଲେ ଓ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କଲେ, “ହେ ପରମପିତା! ଯଦି ସମ୍ଭବ ହୁଏ, ତେବେ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣାର ଏହି ପାତ୍ରଟି ମୋ'ଠାରୁ ଦୂର ହୋଇଯାଉ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୋ’ ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସାରେ ନ ହୋଇ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛା ଅନୁସାରେ କରନ୍ତୁ।”

37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee(A) along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow(B) to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”(C)
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup(D) be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”(E)
