傳統與誡命
15 有幾個法利賽人和律法教師從耶路撒冷來質問耶穌： 2 「為什麼你的門徒吃飯前不行洗手禮，破壞祖先的傳統呢？」
3 耶穌回答說：「為什麼你們拘守傳統而違背上帝的誡命呢？ 4 上帝說，『要孝敬父母』，又說，『咒罵父母的，必被處死。』 5 你們卻說，『人如果把供養父母的錢奉獻給上帝， 6 他就不必供養父母。』你們這是用傳統來廢掉上帝的誡命。 7 你們這些偽君子，以賽亞指著你們說的預言一點沒錯，
8 『這些人嘴上尊崇我，
心卻遠離我，
9 他們的教導無非是人的規條，
他們敬拜我也是枉然。』」
10 耶穌召集了眾人，對他們說：「你們要聽，也要明白。 11 入口的東西不會使人污穢，從口中出來的才會使人污穢。」
12 門徒上前對祂說：「你知道嗎？法利賽人聽見你的話很反感。」
13 耶穌回答說：「凡不是我天父栽種的都要被連根拔起來。 14 隨便他們吧！他們是瞎眼的嚮導。瞎子給瞎子領路，二人都會掉進坑裡。」
15 彼得對耶穌說：「請給我們解釋一下這個比喻。」
16 耶穌說：「你們還不明白嗎？ 17 豈不知入口的東西都是進到肚子裡，然後排泄到廁所裡嗎？ 18 可是，從口中出來的乃是發自內心，會使人污穢。 19 因為從心裡出來的有惡念、謀殺、通姦、淫亂、偷盜、假見證和毀謗， 20 這些東西才使人污穢。不洗手吃飯並不會使人污穢。」
迦南婦人的信心
21 耶穌從那裡退到泰爾和西頓境內。 22 那地方有個迦南的婦人前來大聲懇求耶穌：「主啊！大衛的後裔啊！可憐我吧！我的女兒被鬼附身，受盡折磨！」 23 耶穌卻一言不發。門徒上前求祂說：「請讓她走吧！她老是在後面喊叫。」
24 耶穌說：「我奉差遣只是來尋找以色列家迷失的羊。」
25 那婦人上前跪下，說：「主啊！求你幫幫我吧！」
26 耶穌答道：「把兒女的食物丟給狗吃，不合適。」
27 婦人說：「主啊，沒錯，可是狗也吃主人飯桌上掉下來的碎渣呀！」
28 耶穌說：「婦人，你的信心真大！我答應你的要求。」就在那一刻，她女兒就好了。
耶穌使四千人吃飽
29 耶穌離開那裡，來到加利利湖邊，上了山，在那裡坐下。 30 大群的人把瘸子、瞎子、殘疾的、啞巴及許多別的病人帶來，放在祂腳前，祂就治好了他們。 31 大家看見啞巴說話，殘疾的復原，瘸子走路，瞎子看見，都很驚奇，就讚美以色列的上帝。
32 耶穌把門徒召集過來，對他們說：「我憐憫這些人，他們跟我在一起已經三天，沒有任何吃的。我不願讓他們餓著肚子回去，以免他們在路上體力不支。」
33 門徒說：「在這荒野，我們到哪裡找足夠的食物給這麼多人吃呢？」
34 耶穌問：「你們有多少餅？」
門徒答道：「七個，還有幾條小魚。」
35 耶穌便吩咐大家坐在地上。 36 祂拿著那七個餅和幾條魚祝謝後，掰開，遞給門徒，門徒再分給大家。 37 大家都吃了，並且吃飽了，剩下的零碎裝滿了七個筐子。 38 當時吃飯的，除了婦女和小孩，共有四千男人。 39 隨後，耶穌叫眾人散去，自己坐船去了馬加丹地區。

Discusión con algunos escribas y fariseos
15 (A)Entonces se acercaron* a Jesús algunos escribas y fariseos(B) de Jerusalén, diciendo: 2 ¿Por qué tus discípulos quebrantan la tradición de los ancianos? Pues no se lavan las manos cuando comen pan(C). 3 Y respondiendo Él, les dijo: ¿Por qué también vosotros quebrantáis el mandamiento de Dios a causa de vuestra tradición? 4 Porque Dios dijo: «Honra a tu padre y a tu madre(D)», y: «Quien hable mal de su padre o de su madre, que muera[a](E)». 5 Pero vosotros decís: «Cualquiera que diga a su padre o a su madre: “Es ofrenda a Dios todo lo mío con que pudieras ser ayudado”, 6 no necesitará más honrar[b] a su padre o a su madre[c]». Y así invalidasteis la palabra[d] de Dios por causa de vuestra tradición. 7 ¡Hipócritas! Bien profetizó Isaías de vosotros cuando dijo:
8 «Este pueblo con los labios me honra,
pero su corazón está muy lejos de mí(F).
9 Mas en vano me rinden culto,
enseñando como doctrinas preceptos de hombres(G)».
Lo que contamina al hombre
10 Y llamando junto a sí a la multitud, les dijo: Oíd y entended: 11 no es lo que entra en la boca lo que contamina al hombre; sino lo que sale de la boca, eso es lo que contamina(H) al hombre. 12 Entonces, acercándose los discípulos, le dijeron*: ¿Sabes que los fariseos se escandalizaron[e] cuando oyeron tus palabras[f]? 13 Pero Él contestó y dijo: Toda planta que mi Padre celestial no haya plantado, será desarraigada(I). 14 Dejadlos; son ciegos guías de ciegos[g](J). Y si un ciego guía a otro ciego, ambos caerán en el hoyo(K). 15 Respondiendo Pedro, le dijo: Explícanos la parábola(L). 16 Y Él dijo: ¿También vosotros estáis aún faltos de entendimiento? 17 ¿No entendéis que todo lo que entra en la boca va al estómago[h] y luego se elimina[i]? 18 Pero lo que sale de la boca proviene del corazón(M), y eso es lo que contamina al hombre. 19 Porque del corazón provienen malos pensamientos, homicidios, adulterios, fornicaciones, robos, falsos testimonios y calumnias(N). 20 Estas cosas son las que contaminan al hombre; pero comer sin lavarse las manos no contamina al hombre.
Jesús sana a la hija de una cananea
21 (O)Saliendo Jesús de allí, se retiró a la región de Tiro y de Sidón(P). 22 Y he aquí, una mujer cananea que había salido de aquella comarca, comenzó a gritar, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David(Q), ten misericordia de mí; mi hija está terriblemente endemoniada(R). 23 Pero Él no le respondió palabra. Y acercándose sus discípulos, le rogaban, diciendo: Atiéndela[j], pues viene gritando tras nosotros. 24 Y respondiendo Él, dijo: No he sido enviado sino a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel(S). 25 Pero acercándose ella, se postró[k] ante Él(T), diciendo: ¡Señor, socórreme! 26 Y Él respondió y dijo: No está bien tomar el pan de los hijos, y echárselo a los perrillos. 27 Pero ella dijo: Sí, Señor; pero[l] también los perrillos comen de las migajas que caen de la mesa de sus amos. 28 Entonces, respondiendo Jesús, le dijo: Oh mujer, grande es tu fe(U); que te suceda como deseas. Y su hija quedó sana desde aquel momento[m].
Jesús sana a muchos junto al mar de Galilea
29 (V)Y pasando Jesús de allí, vino junto al mar de Galilea(W), y subiendo al monte, se sentó allí. 30 Y vinieron a Él grandes multitudes trayendo consigo cojos, lisiados, ciegos, mudos y muchos otros enfermos y los pusieron a sus pies y Él los sanó(X); 31 de modo que la muchedumbre se maravilló al ver que los mudos hablaban, los lisiados quedaban restaurados[n], los cojos caminaban y los ciegos veían; y glorificaron al Dios de Israel(Y).
Alimentación de los cuatro mil
32 (Z)Entonces Jesús, llamando junto a sí a sus discípulos, les dijo: Tengo compasión de la multitud(AA), porque hace ya tres días que están conmigo y no tienen qué comer; y no quiero despedirlos sin comer, no sea que desfallezcan en el camino. 33 Y los discípulos le dijeron*: ¿Dónde conseguiríamos nosotros en el desierto tantos panes para saciar a una multitud tan grande? 34 Jesús entonces les dijo*: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Y ellos respondieron: Siete, y unos pocos pececillos. 35 Y Él mandó a la multitud que se recostara en el suelo; 36 y tomó los siete panes y los peces; y después de dar gracias(AB), los partió y empezó a darlos a los discípulos, y los discípulos a las multitudes. 37 Y comieron todos y se saciaron; y recogieron de lo que sobró de los pedazos, siete canastas llenas(AC). 38 Los que comieron fueron cuatro mil hombres, sin contar las mujeres y los niños. 39 Y después de despedir a la muchedumbre, subió a la barca(AD) y fue a la región de Magadán[o](AE).

Defilement Comes from Within(A)
15 Then (B)the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, 2 (C)“Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”
3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, (D)‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, (E)‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, (F)“Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the [b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 (G)Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:
8 ‘These(H) people [c]draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
(I)Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”
10 (J)When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 (K)Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
13 But He answered and said, (L)“Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. (M)They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
15 (N)Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
16 So Jesus said, (O)“Are you also still without understanding? 17 Do you not yet understand that (P)whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? 18 But (Q)those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. 19 (R)For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. 20 These are the things which defile a man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.”
A Gentile Shows Her Faith(S)
21 (T)Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, (U)Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.”
23 But He answered her not a word.
And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.”
24 But He answered and said, (V)“I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
25 Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
26 But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little (W)dogs.”
27 And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
28 Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, (X)great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
Jesus Heals Great Multitudes(Y)
29 (Z)Jesus departed from there, (AA)skirted the Sea of Galilee, and went up on the mountain and sat down there. 30 (AB)Then great multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, [d]maimed, and many others; and they laid them down at Jesus’ (AC)feet, and He healed them. 31 So the multitude marveled when they saw the mute speaking, the [e]maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they (AD)glorified the God of Israel.
Feeding the Four Thousand(AE)
32 (AF)Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”
33 (AG)Then His disciples said to Him, “Where could we get enough bread in the wilderness to fill such a great multitude?”
34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?”
And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”
35 So He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground. 36 And (AH)He took the seven loaves and the fish and (AI)gave thanks, broke them and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitude. 37 So they all ate and were filled, and they took up seven large baskets full of the fragments that were left. 38 Now those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. 39 (AJ)And He sent away the multitude, got into the boat, and came to the region of [f]Magdala.
