安息日的主
12 在安息日那天,耶穌從麥田經過。他的門徒們餓了,就開始摘麥穗吃。 2 有些法利賽人看見了,就對耶穌說:「你看,你的門徒們做了在安息日不可以做的事。」
3 耶穌對他們說:「大衛和那些與他在一起的人飢餓時所做的事,你們難道沒有讀過嗎? 4 他不是進了神的殿[a],和他們吃了[b]陳設餅嗎?這餅是他和那些與他在一起的人不可以吃的,唯有祭司才可以吃。 5 再者,你們難道沒有在律法書上讀過:當安息日,祭司們在聖殿裡觸犯了安息日,也是無罪的嗎? 6 但是我告訴你們:比聖殿更大的就在這裡! 7 你們如果明白『我要的是憐憫,而不是祭祀』[c]這話是什麼意思,就不會把無罪的定為有罪了。 8 因為人子是安息日的主。」
治癒手萎縮的人
9 耶穌離開那地方,進了他們的會堂。 10 看哪,有個一隻手枯萎的人。有些人就問耶穌,說:「在安息日使人痊癒,是否可以呢?」這是為要控告耶穌。
11 耶穌對他們說:「你們當中有哪一個人,如果他有一隻羊在安息日掉進坑裡,他不會抓住羊,把牠拉上來呢? 12 人比羊重要多了!所以,在安息日做好事是可以的。」
13 於是耶穌對那個人說:「伸出你的手!」他一伸出來,手就復原了,和另一隻一樣健全。 14 那些法利賽人就出去,商議怎樣對付耶穌,好除滅他。
神的僕人
15 耶穌知道了,就離開那裡。有一大群人跟隨他,耶穌使他們都痊癒了, 16 並且告誡他們不要把他傳揚出去。 17 這是為要應驗那藉著先知以賽亞所說的話:
18 「看哪,我所揀選的僕人,
我所愛的,心所喜悅的。
我要把我的靈賜給他,
他要向外邦人宣揚審判的事。
19 他不爭競、不喧嚷,
大街[d]上也沒有人聽見他的聲音。
20 壓傷的蘆葦,他不折斷;
將熄的燈火,他不吹滅,
直到他使公義得勝,
21 外邦人將要仰望他的名。」[e]
自相紛爭
22 那時,一個有鬼魔附身、又瞎又啞的人被帶到耶穌那裡。耶穌使他痊癒,那啞巴就能說話,也能看見了。 23 眾人都十分驚訝,說:「難道這個人就是『大衛的後裔』?」
24 但法利賽人聽見了卻說:「這個人如果不是靠著鬼魔的王別西卜,就不能驅趕鬼魔!」
25 耶穌知道他們的想法,就對他們說:「任何一個國家,如果自相紛爭就成為荒蕪;任何一個城或家庭,如果自相紛爭就站立不住。 26 如果撒旦驅趕撒旦,就是自相紛爭,它的國怎麼能站立得住呢? 27 如果我是靠別西卜驅趕鬼魔,那麼,你們的子弟是靠誰驅趕鬼魔呢?為此,你們的子弟就將要成為你們的審判者了。 28 然而,如果我藉著神的靈驅趕鬼魔,那麼,神的國就已經臨到你們了。 29 人怎麼能進入一個壯士的家搶奪他的東西呢?如果不先把那壯士捆住,就不能搶奪他的家。 30 不與我在一起的,就是在反對我;不與我一起收集的,就是在拆散。 31 為此,我告訴你們:人一切的罪和褻瀆的話都能被赦免,但褻瀆聖靈卻不能被赦免。 32 凡是說話抵擋人子的,還能被赦免;但如果有人說話抵擋聖靈,無論在這世代,或在將要來的世代,都不能被赦免。
樹與果
33 「你們讓一棵樹好,它的果子就好;你們讓一棵樹壞,它的果子就壞;這樣,一棵樹是憑著果子被認出來。 34 你們這些毒蛇的子孫!你們做為惡人,怎麼能說出善的來呢?因為心裡所充滿的,口裡就說出來。 35 好人從他心裡[f]所存的善,發出善來;壞人從他心裡所存的惡,發出惡來。 36 我告訴你們:人所說的每一句無益的話,在那審判的日子,句句都要做出交代, 37 因為憑你的話,你將被稱為義;也憑你的話,你將被定有罪。」
約拿的神蹟
38 當時,有一些經文士和法利賽人對耶穌說:「老師,我們希望你顯個神蹟給我們看。」
39 耶穌回答他們,說:「一個邪惡、淫亂的世代會尋求神蹟;可是除了先知約拿的神蹟以外,不會有神蹟賜給它了。 40 就是說,正如約拿在大魚的肚子裡三天三夜,人子也照樣將要在地心三天三夜。 41 在審判的時候,尼尼微人將要與這世代一起復活[g],並且要定這世代的罪,因為尼尼微人因著約拿的傳道就悔改了。看,比約拿更大的就在這裡! 42 在審判的時候,南方的女王[h]將要與這世代一起復活[i],並且要定這世代的罪,因為她從極遠的地方來,要聽所羅門智慧的話語。看,比所羅門更大的就在這裡!

43 「有個汙靈從一個人身上出來以後,走遍無水之地,尋找安歇的地方,卻找不到, 44 就說:『我要回到我離開的那屋裡去。』於是它回去,發現那裡空著,已被打掃乾淨,擺設整齊, 45 就去帶了另外七個比自己更邪惡的靈,進去住在那裡。那個人最後的情況就比先前更壞了。這邪惡的世代也將是這樣。」
真正的親屬
46 耶穌正在向人群講話,這時候他的母親和弟弟們[j]站在外面,想要和他說話。 47 有人告訴他:「看,你母親和弟弟們站在外面,想和你說話。」[k]
48 耶穌回答那對他說話的人,說:「我的母親是誰呢?我的弟兄是誰呢?」 49 他就伸手指著他的門徒們,說:「看,我的母親、我的弟兄! 50 因為凡是遵行我天父旨意的人,他才是我的弟兄、姐妹和母親。」

Jesús y el sábado (Mc 2,23-28; Lc 6,1-5)
12 En cierta ocasión estaba Jesús paseando en sábado por entre unos sembrados. Sus discípulos sintieron hambre y se pusieron a arrancar espigas y a comerse los granos. 2 Los fariseos, al verlo, dijeron a Jesús:
— Mira, tus discípulos hacen algo que no está permitido en sábado.
3 Jesús les contestó:
— ¿Es que no han leído ustedes lo que hizo David cuando él y sus compañeros sintieron hambre? 4 Entró en la casa de Dios y comió de los panes de la ofrenda, algo que no les estaba permitido comer ni a él ni a sus compañeros, sino solamente a los sacerdotes. 5 ¿O no han leído en la ley de Moisés que los sacerdotes no pecan aunque trabajen durante el sábado en el Templo? 6 Pues les digo que aquí hay alguien mayor que el Templo. 7 Si ustedes hubieran entendido lo que significa aquello de: Yo no quiero que me ofrezcan sacrificios, sino que sean compasivos, no condenarían a los inocentes. 8 Porque el Hijo del hombre es Señor del sábado.
El hombre de la mano atrofiada (Mc 3,1-6; Lc 6,6-11)
9 Jesús siguió su camino y entró en una sinagoga. 10 Había allí un hombre que tenía una mano atrofiada, y los que estaban buscando un motivo para acusar a Jesús le preguntaron:
— ¿Está permitido curar en sábado?
11 Jesús les contestó:
— ¿Quién de ustedes, si tiene una sola oveja y se le cae a un pozo en sábado, no irá a sacarla? 12 Pues una persona vale mucho más que una oveja. ¡De modo que está permitido en sábado hacer el bien!
13 Entonces dijo al enfermo:
— Extiende tu mano.
Él la extendió y recuperó el movimiento, como la otra. 14 Los fariseos, por su parte, se reunieron, al salir, y se confabularon para matar a Jesús.
El siervo de Dios
15 Jesús, al saberlo, se fue de allí. Mucha gente lo seguía, y él curaba a todos los que estaban enfermos, 16 si bien les ordenaba que no divulgaran que había sido él. 17 Así se cumplió lo dicho por medio del profeta Isaías:
18 Este es mi siervo, a quien yo he elegido;
lo amo y me complazco en él.
Le daré mi espíritu
y llevará mi enseñanza a todos los pueblos.
19 No disputará con nadie
no andará dando gritos,
ni se oirá su voz por las calles.
20 No romperá la caña quebrada

Jesús y Belzebú (Mc 3,22-27; Lc 11,14-23)
22 Llevaron entonces ante Jesús a un hombre ciego y mudo que estaba poseído por un demonio. Jesús lo sanó, de manera que el mudo comenzó a hablar y a ver. 23 Todos los que presenciaron esto decían asombrados:
— ¿Será este el Hijo de David?
24 Pero los fariseos, al oírlo, replicaron:
— Si este expulsa a los demonios, es porque Belzebú, el propio jefe de los demonios, le da el poder para expulsarlos.
25 Pero Jesús, que sabía lo que estaban pensando, les dijo:
— Si una nación se divide en bandos, se destruye a sí misma. Y si una ciudad o una familia se divide en bandos, no puede subsistir. 26 Si Satanás expulsa a Satanás y actúa, por tanto, contra sí mismo, ¿cómo podrá mantener su poder? 27 Y si Belzebú me da a mí el poder para expulsar demonios, ¿quién se lo da a los propios seguidores de ustedes? ¡Ellos mismos son la demostración del error de ustedes! 28 Ahora bien, si yo expulso los demonios por el poder del Espíritu de Dios, es que el reino de Dios ya ha llegado a ustedes.
29 ¿Quién puede entrar en casa de un hombre fuerte y robarle sus bienes, si primero no ata a ese hombre fuerte? Solamente entonces podrá saquear su casa. 30 El que no está a mi favor, está contra mí; el que conmigo no recoge, desparrama.
El pecado contra el Espíritu Santo (Mc 3,28-30; Lc 12,10)
31 Por eso les digo que a los seres humanos se les perdonarán todos sus pecados y blasfemias. Lo que no se les perdonará es que blasfemen contra el Espíritu Santo. 32 Incluso si alguien habla en contra del Hijo del hombre, podrá serle perdonado; pero el que hable en contra del Espíritu Santo, no será perdonado ni en este mundo ni en el venidero.
El árbol y sus frutos (Lc 6,43-45)
33 Un fruto sano corresponde a un árbol sano; un fruto podrido, a un árbol podrido. Por el fruto se sabe cómo es el árbol. 34 ¡Hijos de víbora! ¿Cómo puede ser bueno lo que dicen, si ustedes mismos son malos? Porque la boca habla de lo que rebosa el corazón. 35 De la persona buena brota el bien, porque es rica en bondad; pero de la persona mala brota el mal, porque es rica en maldad. 36 Les advierto que, en el día del juicio, cada cual habrá de responder de toda palabra vacía que haya pronunciado. 37 Ten en cuenta que por tus propias palabras serás juzgado y declarado inocente o culpable.
Piden a Jesús una señal milagrosa (Mc 8,11-12; Lc 11,29-32)
38 Por aquel tiempo, algunos maestros de la ley y algunos fariseos dijeron a Jesús:
— Maestro, quisiéramos verte hacer alguna señal milagrosa.
39 Jesús les contestó:
— ¡Gente mala e infiel! Ustedes piden una señal milagrosa, pero no tendrán más señal que la del profeta Jonás. 40 Porque, así como Jonás estuvo tres días y tres noches en el vientre del gran pez, así también el Hijo del hombre estará tres días y tres noches en lo profundo de la tierra.
41 Los habitantes de Nínive se levantarán en el día del juicio, al mismo tiempo que toda esta gente, y la condenarán, porque ellos se convirtieron al escuchar el mensaje de Jonás, ¡y aquí hay alguien más importante que Jonás! 42 La reina del Sur se levantará en el día del juicio, al mismo tiempo que toda esta gente, y la condenará, porque esa reina vino desde tierras lejanas a escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón, ¡y aquí hay alguien más importante que Salomón!
El retorno de un espíritu impuro
43 Cuando un espíritu sale de una persona y anda errante por lugares desiertos en busca de descanso, y no lo encuentra, 44 se dice a sí mismo: “Regresaré a mi casa, de donde salí”. Si, al llegar, la encuentra desocupada, barrida y arreglada, 45 va, reúne a otros siete espíritus peores que él y todos juntos se meten a vivir allí, de manera que la situación de esa persona resulta peor al final que al principio. Así le sucederá a esta gente perversa.
La verdadera familia de Jesús (Mc 3,31-35; Lc 8,19-21)
46 Estaba Jesús hablando todavía a la gente, cuando llegaron su madre y sus hermanos. Se quedaron fuera, pero trataban de hablar con él. 47 Alguien le dio aviso a Jesús:

Matthew 12
The Voice
12 The Sabbath came, and Jesus walked through a field. His disciples, who were hungry, began to pick some of the grain and eat it.
The Sabbath is a day of rest when one creates nothing, breaks nothing, gives nothing, makes no contracts, cuts no flowers, and boils no water; it is a day set aside by the Lord to remember the creative work of God, to experience the peace of the Lord, and to rest in the provision of God.
2 When the Pharisees saw this, they reacted.
Pharisees: Look! Your disciples are breaking the law of the Sabbath!
Jesus: 3 Haven’t you read what David did? When he and his friends were hungry, 4 they went into God’s house and they ate the holy bread, even though neither David nor his friends, but only priests, were allowed that bread. 5 Indeed, have you not read that on the Sabbath priests themselves do work in the temple, breaking the Sabbath law yet remaining blameless? 6 Listen, One who is greater than the temple is here.
7 Do you not understand what the prophet Hosea recorded, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice”[a]? If you understood that snippet of Scripture, you would not condemn these innocent men for ostensibly breaking the law of the Sabbath. 8 For the Son of Man has not only the authority to heal and cast out demons, He also has authority over the Sabbath.
9 Jesus left the field and went to the synagogue, 10 and there He met a man with a shriveled hand. The Pharisees wanted to set up Jesus.
Pharisees: Well, is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath too?
Jesus: 11 Look, imagine that one of you has a sheep that falls into a ditch on the Sabbath—what would you do?
Jesus—who can see the Pharisees are testing Him and basically have missed the point—is growing a little testy. The Pharisees say nothing.
(to the Pharisees) You would dive in and rescue your sheep. 12 Now what is more valuable, a person or a sheep? So what do you think—should I heal this man on the Sabbath? Isn’t it lawful to do good deeds on the Sabbath? 13 (to the man with the shriveled hand) Stretch out your hand.
As the man did so, his hand was completely healed, as good as new.
14 The Pharisees went and mapped out plans to destroy Jesus.
15 Jesus knew that the Pharisees were plotting to kill Him and left the area. Many people followed Him, and He healed them all, 16 always insisting that they tell no one about Him. 17 He did this in keeping with the prophecy Isaiah made so long ago:
18 This is My servant, whom I have well chosen;
this is the One I love, the One in whom I delight.
I will place My Spirit upon Him;
He will proclaim justice to all the world.
19 He will not fight or shout
or talk loudly in the streets.
20 He will not crush a reed under His heel
or blow out a smoldering candle
until He has led justice and righteousness to final victory.
21 All the world will find its hope in His name.[b]
22 Some of the faithful brought Jesus a man who was possessed by a demon, who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him. The man could see and talk, and demons no longer crawled around in him.
People (astonished): 23 Could this be the Son of David?
Pharisees: 24 It is only through Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this Jesus can cast out demons.
25 Jesus knew what the Pharisees were thinking.
Jesus: That would be like a father splitting his own household down the middle or a king cutting his kingdom in half—the household and the kingdom would fall apart. 26 So, too, if Satan imbued people with the power to drive out demons, Satan’s kingdom would collapse. 27 And you should think about this too: you have friends who drive out demons. If I am working as a tool of Beelzebul, whom are your people working for? 28 When I come to you and drive out demons by the Spirit of your Father in heaven—for the glory of your Father in heaven—you should recognize and rejoice that the kingdom of God has come to you.
29 Imagine you wanted to break into the house of your neighbor, a strong brawny man, and steal his furniture. First, you’d have to tie up your neighbor, yes? Once he was bound and tied, you could take whatever you wanted. 30 Similarly—he who is not with Me is against Me, and he who is not doing the Father’s work of gathering up the flock may as well be scattering the flock.
31-32 It is one thing for you to speak ill of the Son of Man. People will be forgiven for every sin they commit and blasphemy they utter. But those who call the work of God the work of Satan utterly remove themselves from God, and those who blaspheme God’s Spirit will not be forgiven, neither in this world nor in the world to come.
33 Good trees produce good fruits; bad trees produce bad fruits. You can always tell a tree by its fruits. 34 You children of snakes, you who are evil—how could you possibly say anything good? For the mouth simply shapes the heart’s impulses into words. 35 And so the good man (who is filled with goodness) speaks good words, while the evil man (who is filled with evil) speaks evil words. 36 I tell you this: on the day of judgment, people will be called to account for every careless word they have ever said. 37 The righteous will be acquitted by their own words, and you evildoers will be condemned by your own words.
Scribes and Pharisees: 38 Teacher, we want to see some miraculous sign from You.
Jesus: 39 You wicked and promiscuous generation—you are looking for signs, are you? The only sign you will be given is the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 Jonah spent three days and three nights in the belly of a great fish, as the Son of Man will spend three days and three nights in the belly of the earth. 41 One day, the people of Nineveh will rise up in judgment and will condemn your present generation—for the Ninevites turned from sin to God when they heard Jonah preach, and now One far greater than Jonah is here. 42 The Queen of the South will also stand in judgment and condemn this generation—for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom. And today One greater and wiser than Solomon is among you.
43 Let Me tell you what will happen to this wicked generation: When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it rattles around through deserts and other dry places looking for a place to rest—but it does not find anywhere to rest. 44 So the spirit says, “I will return to the house I left.” And it returns to find that house unoccupied, tidy, swept, and sparkling clean. 45 Well, then not only does one spirit set up shop in that sparkling house, but it brings seven even more wicked spirits along. And the poor man—the house—is worse off than he was before. This evil generation will suffer a similar fate.
46 While Jesus was speaking to the crowd, His mother and brothers came up and wanted to speak to Him.
Someone in the Crowd: 47 Your mother and brothers are waiting outside to speak to You.
Jesus: 48 Who is My mother? And who are My brothers? 49 (pointing to His disciples) These are My mother and brothers. 50 Anyone who does the will of My Father in heaven is My mother and brother and sister.

Plucking Grain on the Sabbath
12 At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the Sabbath. And his disciples were hungry, and they began to pluck off heads of grain and eat them.[a] 2 But when[b] the Pharisees saw it,[c] they said to him, “Behold, your disciples are doing what it is not permitted to do on the Sabbath!” 3 So he said to them, “Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those with him, 4 how he entered into the house of God and ate the bread of the presentation, which it was not permitted for him or for those with him to eat, but only for the priests? 5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple violate the sanctity of the Sabbath and are guiltless? 6 But I tell you that something greater than the temple is here! 7 And if you had known what it means,[d] ‘I want mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
A Man with a Withered Hand Healed
9 And going on from there he came into their synagogue. 10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand, and they asked him, saying, “Is it permitted to heal on the Sabbath?” in order that they could accuse him. 11 But he said to them, “What man will there be among you who will have one sheep and if this one fell into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it[e] out? 12 Then to what degree is a man worth more than a sheep? So then, it is permitted to do good on the Sabbath.”
13 Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand,” and he stretched it[f] out, and it was restored as healthy as the other one. 14 But the Pharisees went out and plotted[g] against him in order that they could destroy him.
God’s Chosen Servant
15 Now Jesus, when he[h] learned of it,[i] withdrew from there, and many[j] followed him, and he healed them all. 16 And he warned them that they should not reveal his identity,[k] 17 in order that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled, who said,
18 “Behold my servant whom I have chosen,
my beloved in whom my soul is well pleased.
I will put my Spirit on him,
and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.
19 He will not quarrel or cry out,
nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets.
20 A crushed reed he will not break,
and a smoldering wick he will not extinguish,
until he brings justice to victory.
21 And in his name the Gentiles[l] will hope.[m]
A House Divided Cannot Stand
22 Then a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute was brought to him. And he healed him so that the man who was mute could speak and see. 23 And all the crowds were amazed and began saying, “Perhaps this one is the Son of David!” 24 But the Pharisees, when they[n] heard it,[o] said, “This man does not expel demons except by Beelzebul the ruler of demons!” 25 But knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 And if Satan expels Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand? 27 And if I expel demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons expel them?[p] For this reason they will be your judges! 28 But if I expel demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you! 29 Or how can someone enter into the house of a strong man and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? And then he can thoroughly plunder his house. 30 The one who is not with me is against me, and the one who does not gather with me scatters. 31 For this reason I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven! 32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him either in this age or in the coming one!
Good Trees and Good Fruit or Bad Trees and Bad Fruit
33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit is good, or make the tree bad and its fruit is bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. 34 Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say good things when you[q] are evil? For from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good person from his[r] good treasury brings out good things, and the evil person from his[s] evil treasury brings out evil things. 36 But I tell you that every worthless word that they speak, people will give an account for it on the day of judgment! 37 For by your words you will be vindicated, and by your words you will be condemned.”
The Sign of Jonah
38 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him saying, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you!” 39 But he answered and[t] said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation desires a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah! 40 For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. 41 The people of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the proclamation of Jonah, and behold, something[u] greater than Jonah is here! 42 The queen of the south will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something[v] greater than Solomon is here!
An Unclean Spirit Returns
43 “Now whenever an unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it travels through waterless places searching for rest, and does not find it.[w] 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came out.’ And when it[x] arrives it finds the house[y] unoccupied and swept and put in order. 45 Then it goes and brings along with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and[z] live there. And the last state of that person becomes worse than the first. So it will be for this evil generation also!”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers
46 And[aa] while[ab] he was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and brothers were standing there outside, desiring to speak to him. 47 And someone told him, “Behold, your mother and your brothers are standing there outside desiring to speak to you.” 48 But he answered and[ac] said to the one who told him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Behold my mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother.”
