差遣使徒
10 耶穌叫了十二位門徒來，將權柄賜給他們，使他們能夠趕出污鬼、醫治各樣的疾病。 2 以下是這十二位使徒的名字：
首先是西門，又名彼得，還有彼得的兄弟安得烈、西庇太的兒子雅各、雅各的兄弟約翰、 3 腓力、巴多羅買、多馬、稅吏馬太、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、達太、 4 激進黨人[a]西門和出賣耶穌的加略人猶大。
5 耶穌差遣這十二個人出去，囑咐他們：「外族人的地方不要去，撒瑪利亞人的城鎮也不要進， 6 要到以色列人當中尋找迷失的羊。
7 「你們要邊走邊傳，『天國臨近了！』 8 要醫好病人，叫死人復活，使痲瘋病人痊癒，趕走邪靈。你們白白地得來，也應當白白地給人。 9 出門時錢袋裡不要帶金、銀、銅幣， 10 不要帶行李、備用的衣服、鞋子或手杖，因為做工的理應得到供應。 11 你們無論到哪座城、哪個村，要在那裡尋找願意接待你們的人，然後住在他家，一直住到離開。 12 你們進他家的時候，要為他們祝福。 13 如果那家配得福氣，你們的祝福必臨到他們；如果那家不配蒙福，祝福仍歸給你們。 14 如果有人不接待你們，不聽你們傳的信息，你們離開那家或那城時，就把腳上的塵土跺掉作為對他們的警告。 15 我實在告訴你們，在審判之日，他們所受的痛苦比所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的還大！
將臨的迫害
16 「聽著，我差你們出去，就好像使羊走進狼群一般。所以，你們要像蛇一樣機靈，像鴿子一樣馴良。
17 「你們要小心謹慎，因為人們要把你們送上法庭，也要在會堂裡鞭打你們。 18 你們要因我的緣故被帶到官長和君王面前，在他們和外族人面前為我做見證。 19 當你們被押送公堂時，不用顧慮如何應對，或說什麼話，那時必會賜給你們當說的話。 20 因為那時候說話的不是你們自己，乃是你們父的靈藉著你們說話。
21 「那時，人必把自己的弟兄置於死地，父親必把兒子置於死地，兒女必反叛父母，置他們於死地。 22 你們將為我的名而被眾人憎恨，但堅忍到底的必定得救。 23 如果你們在一個地方遭迫害，就避到另一個地方。我實在告訴你們，沒等你們走遍以色列的城鎮，人子就來了。
24 「學生不能高過老師，奴僕也不能大過主人。 25 學生頂多和老師一樣，奴僕頂多和主人一樣。連一家之主都被罵成是別西卜[b]，更何況祂的家人呢？
26 「不要害怕那些迫害你們的人。因為掩蓋的事終會暴露出來，隱藏的秘密終會被人知道。 27 你們要把我私下告訴你們的當眾講出來，你們要在屋頂上把聽到的悄悄話宣告出來。 28 那些只能殺害身體，不能毀滅靈魂的人，不用怕他們。但要畏懼那位有權將身體和靈魂一同毀滅在地獄裡的上帝。 29 兩隻麻雀不是只賣一個銅錢嗎？然而沒有天父的許可，一隻也不會掉在地上。 30 就連你們的頭髮都被數過了。 31 所以不要害怕，你們比許多麻雀更貴重！
32 「凡公開承認我的，我在天父面前也必承認他； 33 凡公開不承認我的，我在天父面前也必不承認他。
跟從主的代價
34 「不要以為我來了會讓天下太平，我並非帶來和平，乃是帶來刀劍。 35 因為我來是要叫兒子與父親作對，女兒與母親作對，媳婦與婆婆作對， 36 家人之間反目成仇。
37 「愛父母過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒；愛兒女過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒； 38 不肯背起他的十字架跟從我的人不配作我的門徒。 39 試圖保全自己生命的反而會失去生命，但為我捨棄生命的反而會得到生命。
得賞賜
40 「人接待你們就是接待我，接待我就是接待差我來的那位。 41 因為某人是先知而接待他的，必得到和先知一樣的賞賜；因為某人是義人而接待他的，必得到和義人一樣的賞賜。 42 人若接待我門徒中最卑微的人，並因為他是我的門徒而給他一杯涼水喝，我實在告訴你們，那人必得到賞賜。」

16 “现在，我差派你们出去，好象羊进到狼群中间；所以你们要像蛇一样机警，像鸽子一样纯洁。 17 你们要小心，因为有人要把你们送交公议会，并要在会堂里鞭打你们； 18 你们为我的缘故，也要被带到统治者和君王面前，向他们和外族人作见证。 19 你们被捕的时候，用不着担心说甚么和怎么说，因为那时你们必得着当说的话； 20 因为说话的不是你们，而是你们的父的灵，是他在你们里面说话。 21 弟兄要出卖弟兄，父亲要出卖儿女，甚至把他们置于死地；儿女要悖逆父母，害死他们。 22 你们为我的名，要被众人恨恶，然而坚忍到底的必然得救。 23 如果有人在这城迫害你们，就逃到别的城去。我实在告诉你们，你们还没有走遍以色列的各城，人子就来到了。
24 “学生不能胜过老师，奴仆也不能胜过主人。 25 学生若能像老师一样，奴仆若能像主人一样，也就够了。如果一家之主也被称为别西卜（“别西卜”是鬼王的名字），何况他的家人呢？

26 “所以不要怕他们。没有甚么掩盖的事不被揭露，也没有甚么秘密是人不知道的。 27 我在暗处告诉你们的，你们要在明处讲出来；你们听见的耳语，要在房顶上宣扬出来。 28 那些杀身体却不能杀灵魂的，不要怕他们；倒要怕那位能把灵魂和身体都投入地狱里的。 29 两只麻雀不是卖一个大钱吗？但你们的父若不许可，一只也不会掉在地上。 30 甚至你们的头发都一一数过了。 31 所以不要怕，你们比许多麻雀贵重得多呢。
32 “凡在人面前承认我的，我在我天父面前也要承认他； 33 在人面前不认我的，我在我天父面前也要不认他。
作门徒的代价(D)
34 “你们不要以为我来了，是要给地上带来和平；我并没有带来和平，却带来刀剑， 35 因为我来了是要叫人分裂：
人与父亲作对，
女儿与母亲作对，
媳妇与婆婆作对，
36 人的仇敌就是自己的家人。
37 爱父母过于爱我的，不配作属我的；爱儿女过于爱我的，不配作属我的； 38 凡不背起自己的十字架来跟从我的，也不配作属我的。 39 顾惜自己生命的，必要丧掉生命；但为我牺牲生命的，必要得着生命。

40 “接待你们的，就是接待我；接待我的，就是接待那差我来的。 41 因先知的名接待先知的，必得先知所得的赏赐；因义人的名接待义人的，必得义人所得的赏赐。 42 无论谁因门徒的名，只把一杯凉水给这些微不足道的人中的一个喝，我实在告诉你们，他决不会得不到他的赏赐。”

Jesus Sends Out His Apostles
10 Jesus called his 12 followers together. He gave them power to drive out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and sickness. 2 These are the names of the 12 apostles: Simon (also called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew, the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot. Judas is the one who turned against Jesus.
5 These 12 men he sent out with the following order: “Don’t go to the non-Jewish people. And don’t go into any town where the Samaritans live. 6 But go to the people of Israel. They are like sheep that are lost. 7 When you go, preach this: ‘The kingdom of heaven is coming soon.’ 8 Heal the sick. Give dead people life again. Heal those who have harmful skin diseases. Force demons to leave people. I give you these powers freely. So help other people freely. 9 Don’t carry any money with you—gold or silver or copper. 10 Don’t carry a bag. Take for your trip only the clothes and sandals you are wearing. Don’t take a walking stick. A worker should be given the things he needs.
11 “When you enter a city or town, find some worthy person there and stay in his home until you leave. 12 When you enter that home, say, ‘Peace be with you.’ 13 If the people there welcome you, let your peace stay there. But if they don’t welcome you, take back the peace you wished for them. 14 And if a home or town refuses to welcome you or listen to you, then leave that place. Shake its dust off your feet.[a] 15 I tell you the truth. On the Judgment Day it will be worse for that town than for the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah.[b]
Jesus Warns His Apostles
16 “Listen! I am sending you out, and you will be like sheep among wolves. So be as smart as snakes. But also be like doves and do nothing wrong. 17 Be careful of people. They will arrest you and take you to court. They will whip you in their synagogues. 18 Because of me you will be taken to stand before governors and kings. You will tell them and the non-Jewish people about me. 19 When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say or how you should say it. At that time you will be given the things to say. 20 It will not really be you speaking. The Spirit of your Father will be speaking through you.
21 “Brothers will turn against their own brothers and give them over to be killed. Fathers will turn against their own children and give them to be killed. Children will fight against their own parents and have them killed. 22 All people will hate you because you follow me. But the person who continues strong until the end will be saved. 23 When you are treated badly in one city, go to another city. I tell you the truth. You will not finish going through all the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.
24 “A student is not better than his teacher. A servant is not better than his master. 25 A student should be satisfied to become like his teacher. A servant should be satisfied to become like his master. If the head of the family is called Beelzebul, then the other members of the family will be called worse names!
Fear God, Not People
26 “So don’t be afraid of those people. Everything that is hidden will be shown. Everything that is secret will be made known. 27 I tell you these things in the dark, but I want you to tell them in the light. I speak these things only to you, but you should tell them to everyone. 28 Don’t be afraid of people. They can only kill the body. They cannot kill the soul. The only one you should fear is the One who can destroy the body and the soul in hell. 29 When birds are sold, two small birds cost only a penny. But not even one of the little birds can die without your Father’s knowing it. 30 God even knows how many hairs are on your head. 31 So don’t be afraid. You are worth much more than many birds.
Tell People About Your Faith
32 “If anyone stands before other people and says he believes in me, then I will say that he belongs to me. I will say this before my Father in heaven. 33 But if anyone stands before people and says he does not believe in me, then I will say that he does not belong to me. I will say this before my Father in heaven.
34 “Don’t think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 I have come to make this happen:
‘A son will be against his father,
a daughter will be against her mother,
a daughter-in-law will be against her mother-in-law.
36 A person’s enemies will be members of his own family.’ Micah 7:6
37 “Whoever loves his father or mother more than he loves me is not worthy to be my follower. Whoever loves his son or daughter more than he loves me is not worthy to be my follower. 38 Whoever is not willing to die on a cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever tries to hold on to his life will give up true life. Whoever gives up his life for me will hold on to true life. 40 Whoever accepts you also accepts me. And whoever accepts me also accepts the One who sent me. 41 Whoever meets a prophet and accepts him will receive the reward of a prophet. And whoever accepts a good man because that man is good will receive the reward of a good man. 42 Whoever helps one of these little ones because they are my followers will truly get his reward. He will get his reward even if he only gave my follower a cup of cold water.”

Tumuloy kayo sa kanila hanggang sa inyong pag-alis. 12 Pagpasok ninyo sa isang bahay, bumati kayo sa kanila. 13 Kung ang bahay ay karapat-dapat, sumakanila nawa ang inyong kapayapaan. Ngunit kung ito ay hindi karapat-dapat, bumalik nawa sa inyo ang inyong kapayapaan. 14 Ang sinumang hindi tumanggap sa inyo, ni makinig sa inyong mga salita, lumabas kayo sa bahay, o lungsod na iyon. 17 Mag-ingat kayo sa mga tao sapagkat ibibigay nila kayo sa mga sanggunian. Hahagupitin nila kayo sa kanilang mga sinagoga. 18 Dadalhin kayo sa harap ng mga gobernador at mga hari dahil sa akin. Ihaharap kayo sa kanila upang magbigay ng patotoo laban sa kanila at sa mga Gentil. 19 Ngunit kapag ibinigay nila kayo, huwag kayong mag-alala kung papaano o ano ang inyong sasabihin sapagkat sa oras ding iyon ay ipagkakaloob sa inyo kung ano ang inyong sasabihin. 20 Ito ay sapagkat hindi kayo ang magsasalita kundi ang Espiritu ng inyong Ama ang magsasalita sa pamamagitan ninyo.
21 Ipapapatay ng kapatid ang kaniyang kapatid at ng ama ang kaniyang anak. Ang mga anak ay maghihimagsik laban sa kanilang mga magulang at ipapapatay sila. 22 Kapopootan kayo ng lahat ng mga tao dahil sa aking pangalan. Ngunit ang magtiis hanggang sa wakas ang siyang maliligtas. 23 Ngunit kapag inuusig nila kayo sa lungsod na ito, tumakas kayo patungo sa iba sapagkat katotohanang sinasabi ko sa inyo: Hindi pa ninyo natatapos libutin ang mga lungsod ng Israel, darating na ang Anak ng Tao.
24 Ang alagad ay hindi nakakahigit sa kaniyang guro at ang alipin ay hindi nakakahigit sa kaniyang panginoon. 25 Sapat na sa alagad na matulad sa kaniyang guro at ang alipin ay matulad sa kaniyang panginoon. Kung tinatawag nila ang may-ari ng sambahayan na Beelzebub, gaano pa kaya na kanilang sasabihin iyon sa mga kabahagi ng sambahayan.
26 Huwag nga kayong matakot sa kanila sapagkat walang anumang natatakpan na hindi mahahayag, at walang anumang natatago na hindi malalaman. 27 Ang sinasabi ko sa inyo sa dilim ay sabihin ninyo sa liwanag. Ang narinig ninyo nang pabulong ay ipahayag ninyo mula sa mga bubungan ng bahay. 28 Huwag kayong matakot sa mga pumapatay sa katawan ngunit hindi makakapatay sa kaluluwa. Sa halip, matakot kayo sa kaniya na makakapatay kapwa ng kaluluwa at ng katawan sa impiyerno. 29 Hindi ba ipinagbibili ang dalawang maya ng isang sentimo? Gayunman, kahit isa sa kanila ay hindi mahuhulog sa lupa kung hindi pahihintulutan ng iyong Ama. 30 Maging ang mga buhok ninyo sa inyong mga ulo ay bilang niya ang lahat. 31 Kaya nga, huwag kayong matakot sapagkat higit kayong mahalaga kaysa sa maraming maya.
32 Kaya nga, ang sinumang maghahayag sa akin sa harap ng mga tao ay ihahayag ko rin sa harap ng aking Ama na nasa langit. 33 Ngunit ang sinumang magkakaila sa akin sa harap ng mga tao ay ikakaila ko rin sa harap ng aking Ama na nasa langit.
34 Huwag ninyong isiping naparito ako upang magdalang kapayapaan sa lupa. Hindi ako naparito upang magdalang kapayapaan kundi ng tabak. 35 Naparito ako upang paghimagsikin
ang isang tao laban sa kaniyang ama. Papaghimagsikin ko ang anak na babae laban sa kaniyang ina, at ang manugang na babae laban sa kaniyang biyenang babae.
36 Ang kaaway ng isang tao ay ang kaniyang sariling kasambahay.
37 Ang umiibig sa kaniyang ama o ina ng higit sa akin ay hindi karapat-dapat sa akin. Ang sinumamg umiibig sa kaniyang anak na lalaki, o anak na babae nang higit sa akinay hindi karapat-dapat sa akin. 38 Ang sinumang hindi nagpapasan ng kaniyang krus at sumusunod sa akin ay hindi karapat-dapat sa akin. 39 Ang sinumang makakasumpong ng kaniyang buhay ay mawawalan nito. Ang sinumang mawawalan ng kaniyang buhay dahil sa akin ay makakasumpung nito.
40 Siya na tumatanggap sa inyo ay tumatanggap sa akin, at siya na tumatanggap sa akin ay tumatanggap sa nagsugo sa akin. 41 Siya na tumatanggap sa isang propeta dahil sa pangalan ng isang propeta ay tatanggap ng gantimpalang ukol sa propeta.
