差遣使徒
10 耶穌叫了十二位門徒來，將權柄賜給他們，使他們能夠趕出污鬼、醫治各樣的疾病。 2 以下是這十二位使徒的名字：
首先是西門，又名彼得，還有彼得的兄弟安得烈、西庇太的兒子雅各、雅各的兄弟約翰、 3 腓力、巴多羅買、多馬、稅吏馬太、亞勒腓的兒子雅各、達太、 4 激進黨人[a]西門和出賣耶穌的加略人猶大。
5 耶穌差遣這十二個人出去，囑咐他們：「外族人的地方不要去，撒瑪利亞人的城鎮也不要進， 6 要到以色列人當中尋找迷失的羊。
7 「你們要邊走邊傳，『天國臨近了！』 8 要醫好病人，叫死人復活，使痲瘋病人痊癒，趕走邪靈。你們白白地得來，也應當白白地給人。 9 出門時錢袋裡不要帶金、銀、銅幣， 10 不要帶行李、備用的衣服、鞋子或手杖，因為做工的理應得到供應。 11 你們無論到哪座城、哪個村，要在那裡尋找願意接待你們的人，然後住在他家，一直住到離開。 12 你們進他家的時候，要為他們祝福。 13 如果那家配得福氣，你們的祝福必臨到他們；如果那家不配蒙福，祝福仍歸給你們。 14 如果有人不接待你們，不聽你們傳的信息，你們離開那家或那城時，就把腳上的塵土跺掉作為對他們的警告。 15 我實在告訴你們，在審判之日，他們所受的痛苦比所多瑪和蛾摩拉所受的還大！
將臨的迫害
16 「聽著，我差你們出去，就好像使羊走進狼群一般。所以，你們要像蛇一樣機靈，像鴿子一樣馴良。
17 「你們要小心謹慎，因為人們要把你們送上法庭，也要在會堂裡鞭打你們。 18 你們要因我的緣故被帶到官長和君王面前，在他們和外族人面前為我做見證。 19 當你們被押送公堂時，不用顧慮如何應對，或說什麼話，那時必會賜給你們當說的話。 20 因為那時候說話的不是你們自己，乃是你們父的靈藉著你們說話。
21 「那時，人必把自己的弟兄置於死地，父親必把兒子置於死地，兒女必反叛父母，置他們於死地。 22 你們將為我的名而被眾人憎恨，但堅忍到底的必定得救。 23 如果你們在一個地方遭迫害，就避到另一個地方。我實在告訴你們，沒等你們走遍以色列的城鎮，人子就來了。
24 「學生不能高過老師，奴僕也不能大過主人。 25 學生頂多和老師一樣，奴僕頂多和主人一樣。連一家之主都被罵成是別西卜[b]，更何況祂的家人呢？
26 「不要害怕那些迫害你們的人。因為掩蓋的事終會暴露出來，隱藏的秘密終會被人知道。 27 你們要把我私下告訴你們的當眾講出來，你們要在屋頂上把聽到的悄悄話宣告出來。 28 那些只能殺害身體，不能毀滅靈魂的人，不用怕他們。但要畏懼那位有權將身體和靈魂一同毀滅在地獄裡的上帝。 29 兩隻麻雀不是只賣一個銅錢嗎？然而沒有天父的許可，一隻也不會掉在地上。 30 就連你們的頭髮都被數過了。 31 所以不要害怕，你們比許多麻雀更貴重！
32 「凡公開承認我的，我在天父面前也必承認他； 33 凡公開不承認我的，我在天父面前也必不承認他。
跟從主的代價
34 「不要以為我來了會讓天下太平，我並非帶來和平，乃是帶來刀劍。 35 因為我來是要叫兒子與父親作對，女兒與母親作對，媳婦與婆婆作對， 36 家人之間反目成仇。
37 「愛父母過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒；愛兒女過於愛我的人不配作我的門徒； 38 不肯背起他的十字架跟從我的人不配作我的門徒。 39 試圖保全自己生命的反而會失去生命，但為我捨棄生命的反而會得到生命。
得賞賜
40 「人接待你們就是接待我，接待我就是接待差我來的那位。 41 因為某人是先知而接待他的，必得到和先知一樣的賞賜；因為某人是義人而接待他的，必得到和義人一樣的賞賜。 42 人若接待我門徒中最卑微的人，並因為他是我的門徒而給他一杯涼水喝，我實在告訴你們，那人必得到賞賜。」

Mission of the Twelve
10 He called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits to throw them out and to heal every disease and every sickness. 2 Here are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon, who is called Peter; and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee; and John his brother; 3 Philip; and Bartholomew; Thomas; and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Cananaean;[a] and Judas, who betrayed Jesus.
Commissioning of the Twelve
5 Jesus sent these twelve out and commanded them, “Don’t go among the Gentiles or into a Samaritan city. 6 Go instead to the lost sheep, the people of Israel. 7 As you go, make this announcement: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with skin diseases, and throw out demons. You received without having to pay. Therefore, give without demanding payment. 9 Workers deserve to be fed, so don’t gather gold or silver or copper coins for your money belts to take on your trips. 10 Don’t take a backpack for the road or two shirts or sandals or a walking stick. 11 Whatever city or village you go into, find somebody in it who is worthy and stay there until you go on your way. 12 When you go into a house, say, ‘Peace!’ 13 If the house is worthy, give it your blessing of peace. But if the house isn’t worthy, take back your blessing. 14 If anyone refuses to welcome you or listen to your words, shake the dust off your feet as you leave that house or city. 15 I assure you that it will be more bearable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on Judgment Day than it will be for that city.
Response to harassment
16 “Look, I’m sending you as sheep among wolves. Therefore, be wise as snakes and innocent as doves. 17 Watch out for people—because they will hand you over to councils and they will beat you in their synagogues. 18 They will haul you in front of governors and even kings because of me so that you may give your testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 Whenever they hand you over, don’t worry about how to speak or what you will say, because what you can say will be given to you at that moment. 20 You aren’t doing the talking, but the Spirit of my Father is doing the talking through you. 21 Brothers and sisters will hand each other over to be executed. A father will turn his child in. Children will defy their parents and have them executed. 22 Everyone will hate you on account of my name. But whoever stands firm until the end will be saved. 23 Whenever they harass you in one city, escape to the next, because I assure that you will not go through all the cities of Israel before the Human One[b] comes.
24 “Disciples aren’t greater than their teacher, and slaves aren’t greater than their master. 25 It’s enough for disciples to be like their teacher and slaves like their master. If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, it’s certain that they will call the members of his household by even worse names.
Whom to fear
26 “Therefore, don’t be afraid of those people because nothing is hidden that won’t be revealed, and nothing secret that won’t be brought out into the open. 27 What I say to you in the darkness, tell in the light; and what you hear whispered, announce from the rooftops. 28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body but can’t kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell. 29 Aren’t two sparrows sold for a small coin? But not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father knowing about it already. 30 Even the hairs of your head are all counted. 31 Don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.
Confessing Christ to people
32 “Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before people, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. 33 But everyone who denies me before people, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Trouble in the family
34 “Don’t think that I’ve come to bring peace to the earth. I haven’t come to bring peace but a sword. 35 I’ve come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 People’s enemies are members of their own households.[c]
37 “Those who love father or mother more than me aren’t worthy of me. Those who love son or daughter more than me aren’t worthy of me. 38 Those who don’t pick up their crosses and follow me aren’t worthy of me. 39 Those who find their lives will lose them, and those who lose their lives because of me will find them.
Rewards
40 “Those who receive you are also receiving me, and those who receive me are receiving the one who sent me. 41 Those who receive a prophet as a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Those who receive a righteous person as a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward. 42 I assure you that everybody who gives even a cup of cold water to these little ones because they are my disciples will certainly be rewarded.”

17 Pran prekosyon nou ak tout moun; paske y'a trennen nou devan tribinal, y'a bat nou ak kout fwèt nan sinagòg yo.
18 y'a fè nou konparèt devan chèf gouvènman ak devan wa poutèt mwen, pou nou kapab sèvi m' temwen devan yo ak devan moun lòt nasyon yo.
19 Men, lè y'a mennen nou nan tribinal, pa bat kò nou chache sa n'a gen pou n' di, ni jan n'a gen pou n' pale. Lè lè a va rive, Bondye va mete nan bouch nou sa n'a gen pou n' di.
20 Paske, se pa nou menm ki va pale, men se Lespri Papa nou an ki va mete pawòl nan bouch nou.
21 Frè va denonse frè pou fè touye li. Papa va denonse pitit. Pitit va leve kont papa ak manman pou fè touye yo.
22 Tout moun pral rayi nou poutèt mwen. Men, moun ki va kenbe fèm jouk sa kaba, se yo ki va sove.
23 Lè y'a pèsekite nou nan yon lavil, sove ale nan yon lòt. Sa m'ap di nou la a, se vre wi: Moun Bondye voye nan lachè a va gen tan vini anvan n'a fin mache nan tout lavil ki nan peyi Izrayèl la.
24 Yon elèv pa pi fò pase mèt li. Nitou, yon domestik pa pi grannèg pase patwon li.
25 Si yon elèv rive fò tankou mèt li, sa kont pou li; si yon domestik rive tankou patwon li, sa kont pou li. Si yo rele mèt kay la Bèlzeboul, se pa lòt moun nan kay la yo p'ap bay pi move non toujou!
26 Se sak fè nou pa bezwen pè pesonn. Pa gen anyen ki kache ki p'ap dekouvri yon lè. Nanpwen sekrè ki p'ap devwale.
27 Tou sa m'ap di nou nan fènwa, nou menm repete l' gwo lajounen. Tou sa yo di nou nan zòrèy, mache bay li nan tout kalfou.
28 Nou pa bezwen pè moun ki kapab touye kò nou, men ki pa kapab touye nanm nou. Se Bondye pou nou pè pito, paske li menm li kapab detwi nanm nou ansanm ak tout kò nou nan lanfè.
29 Eske yo pa vann ti zwazo de pou senk kòb? Malgre sa, pa gen yon sèl ki tonbe atè san Papa nou pa konnen.
30 Pou nou menm menm, ata grenn cheve nan tèt nou, yo tout konte.
31 Se sak fè, nou pa bezwen pè menm: nou vo pi plis pase anpil ti zwazo.
32 Moun ki va kanpe pou mwen devan lèzòm, mwen menm tou, m'a kanpe pou li devan Papa m' ki nan syèl la.
