耶穌基督的家譜
1 耶穌基督是亞伯拉罕的子孫、大衛的後裔，以下是祂的家譜：
2 亞伯拉罕生以撒，
以撒生雅各，
雅各生猶大和他的兄弟，
3 猶大和她瑪生法勒斯和謝拉，
法勒斯生希斯崙[a]，
希斯崙生蘭，
4 蘭生亞米拿達，
亞米拿達生拿順，
拿順生撒門，
5 撒門和喇合生波阿斯，
波阿斯和路得生俄備得，
俄備得生耶西，
6 耶西生大衛王。
大衛和烏利亞的妻子生所羅門，
7 所羅門生羅波安，
羅波安生亞比雅，
亞比雅生亞撒，
8 亞撒生約沙法，
約沙法生約蘭，
約蘭生烏西雅，
9 烏西雅生約坦，
約坦生亞哈斯，
亞哈斯生希西迦，
10 希西迦生瑪拿西，
瑪拿西生亞們，
亞們生約西亞，
11 約西亞生耶哥尼雅和他的兄弟，

耶穌的降生
18 以下是耶穌基督降生的經過。
耶穌的母親瑪麗亞和約瑟訂了婚，還沒有成親就從聖靈懷了孕。 19 約瑟是個義人，不願公開地羞辱她，便決定暗中和她解除婚約。 20 他正在考慮這事的時候，主的一位天使在夢中向他顯現，說：「大衛的後裔約瑟，不要怕，把瑪麗亞娶過來，因為她所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。 21 她將生一個兒子，你要給祂取名叫耶穌[c]，因為祂要把自己的子民從罪惡中救出來。」
22 這一切應驗了主藉著先知所說的話： 23 「必有童貞女懷孕生子，祂的名字要叫以馬內利，意思是『上帝與我們同在』。」 24 約瑟醒來，就遵從主的天使的吩咐和瑪麗亞結婚， 25 只是在她生下孩子之前沒有與她同房。約瑟給孩子取名叫耶穌。

Daudi alikuwa baba yake Solomoni ambaye mama yake ni yule aliyekuwa mke wa Uria; 7 Solomoni alikuwa baba yake Rehoboamu; Rehoboamu alikuwa baba yake Abiya; Abiya alikuwa baba yake Asa; 8 Asa alikuwa baba yake Yehoshafati; Yehoshafati alikuwa baba yake Yoramu; Yoramu alikuwa baba yake Uzia; 9 Uzia alikuwa baba yake Yothamu; Yothamu alikuwa baba yake Ahazi; Ahazi alikuwa baba yake Hezekia; 10 Hezekia alikuwa baba yake Manase; Manase alikuwa baba yake Amoni; Amoni alikuwa baba yake Yosia; 11 wakati wa uhamisho wa Babiloni, Yosia alimzaa Yekonia na ndugu zake; 12 na baada ya uhamisho wa Babiloni Yekonia alimzaa Shealtieli; Shealtieli alikuwa baba yake Zerubabeli; 13 Zeru babeli alikuwa baba yake Abihudi; Abihudi alikuwa baba yake Eliakimu ; Eliakimu alikuwa baba yake Azori; 14 Azori alikuwa baba yake Zadoki; Zadoki alikuwa baba yake Akimu; Akimu alikuwa baba yake Eliudi; 15 Eliudi alikuwa baba yake Elieza; Elieza alikuwa baba yake Matani; Matani alikuwa baba yake Yakobo; 16 Yakobo alikuwa baba yake Yosefu ambaye alikuwa mumewe Mar ia, aliyemzaa Yesu anayeitwa Kristo. 17 Basi, kulikuwepo vizazi kumi na vinne tangu Abrahamu mpaka wakati wa mfalme Daudi; na vizazi kumi na vinne tangu mfalme Daudi hadi wakati wa uhamisho wa Babiloni na vizazi kumi na vinne tangu wakati wa uhamisho hadi Kristo.
Kuzaliwa Kwa Yesu Kristo
18 Kuzaliwa kwake Yesu Kristo kulikuwa hivi: Maria mama yake, alikuwa ameposwa na Yosefu. Lakini kabla ya ndoa yao, Mar ia akiwa bado bikira, alipata mimba kwa uweza wa Roho Mtakatifu. 19 Kwa kuwa Yosefu alikuwa mtu mwema hakutaka kumwaibisha mchumba wake Maria hadharani. Kwa hiyo aliamua kuvunja uchumba wao kwa siri. 20 Lakini alipokuwa bado anawaza juu ya jambo hili, malaika wa Bwana akamtokea katika ndoto akasema, “Yosefu mwana wa Daudi, usisite kumwoa Maria mchumba wako kwa maana mimba aliyo nayo ameipata kwa uweza wa Roho Mtakatifu. 21 Naye atamzaa mtoto wa kiume, nawe utamwita jina lake Yesu; kwa maana yeye ndiye atakayewaokoa watu wake kutoka katika dhambi zao.”
22 Hayo yote yalitokea ili kutimiza maneno ya Mungu yaliyos emwa na nabii wake: 23 “Tazama bikira atachukua mimba, naye atamzaa mtoto wa kiume nao watamwita Imanueli,” maana yake, “Mungu pamoja nasi”. 24 Yosefu alipoamka usingizini, alifanya kama alivyoagizwa na malaika wa Bwana; akamchukua mkewe Maria nyumbani kwake, 25 lakini hawakukaribiana mpaka Maria alipoji fungua mtoto wa kiume. Yosefu akamwita jina lake Yesu.

2 Abraham was the father of Isaac,(F)
Isaac the father of Jacob,(G)
Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,(H)
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar,(I)
Perez the father of Hezron,
Hezron the father of Ram,
4 Ram the father of Amminadab,
Amminadab the father of Nahshon,
Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,(J)
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of King David.(K)
David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,(L)
7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam,
Rehoboam the father of Abijah,
Abijah the father of Asa,
8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat,
Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram,
Jehoram the father of Uzziah,
9 Uzziah the father of Jotham,
Jotham the father of Ahaz,
Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh,(M)
Manasseh the father of Amon,
Amon the father of Josiah,
11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah[c] and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.(N)
12 After the exile to Babylon:
Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel,(O)
Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,(P)
13 Zerubbabel the father of Abihud,
Abihud the father of Eliakim,
Eliakim the father of Azor,
14 Azor the father of Zadok,
Zadok the father of Akim,
Akim the father of Elihud,
15 Elihud the father of Eleazar,
Eleazar the father of Matthan,
Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary,(Q) and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.(R)
17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[d]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.(S) 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[e] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce(T) her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel(U) of the Lord appeared to him in a dream(V) and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f](W) because he will save his people from their sins.”(X)
22 All this took place to fulfill(Y) what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g](Z) (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel(AA) of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.(AB)
