³⁴門徒們卻不做聲，因為他們在路上彼此爭論誰更大。 ³⁵耶穌坐下，叫十二使徒^[a]來，對他們說：「如果有人想做首先的，他就該做眾人當中最後的，做大家的僕人。」 ³⁶耶穌找來一個小孩子，讓他站在他們當中，又把他摟在懷中，對門徒們說：

³⁴门徒们却不做声，因为他们在路上彼此争论谁更大。 ³⁵耶稣坐下，叫十二使徒^[a]来，对他们说：“如果有人想做首先的，他就该做众人当中最后的，做大家的仆人。” ³⁶耶稣找来一个小孩子，让他站在他们当中，又把他搂在怀中，对门徒们说：

³⁴But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest.^(A)

³⁵Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”^(B)

³⁶He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms,^(C) he said to them,
