拿撒勒人厭棄耶穌
6 耶穌帶著門徒離開那地方，回到自己的家鄉。 2 到了安息日，祂開始在會堂裡教導人，眾人聽了都很驚奇，說：「這個人從哪裡學來這些本領？祂怎麼會有這種智慧？祂怎麼能行這樣的神蹟？ 3 這不是那個木匠嗎？祂不是瑪麗亞的兒子嗎？祂不是雅各、約西、猶大、西門的大哥嗎？祂的妹妹們不也住在我們這裡嗎？」他們就對祂很反感。
4 耶穌對他們說：「先知到處受人尊敬，只有在本鄉、本族、本家例外。」 5 耶穌不能在那裡行任何神蹟，只把手按在幾個病人身上，醫治了他們。 6 他們的不信令耶穌詫異，於是祂就去周圍的村莊教導人。
差遣十二使徒
7 耶穌召集了十二個使徒，差遣他們兩個兩個地出去，賜給他們制伏污鬼的權柄， 8 又吩咐他們除了手杖之外，不用帶食物和背囊，腰包裡也不要帶錢， 9 只穿一雙鞋子和一套衣服就夠了。 10 祂說：「你們無論到哪裡，就住在那些接待你們的人家裡，一直住到離開。 11 如果某地方的人不接待你們，不聽你們傳的道，你們在離開之前要跺掉腳上的塵土，作為對他們的警告！」
12 使徒便出去傳道，勸人悔改， 13 趕出許多鬼，為許多病人抹油，治好他們。
施洗者約翰遇害
14 耶穌聲名遠播，希律王也聽說了祂的事。有人說：「施洗者約翰從死裡復活了，所以能夠行這些神蹟。」
15 也有人說：「祂是先知以利亞。」
還有人說：「祂是個先知，跟古代的一位先知相似。」
16 希律聽到這些議論，就說：「祂一定是被我斬了頭的約翰從死裡復活了。」 17 原來希律娶了他兄弟腓力的妻子希羅底，並為她的緣故而派人逮捕了約翰，把他關押在監牢裡。 18 因為約翰屢次對希律說：「你娶弟弟的妻子不合法。」
19 希羅底對約翰懷恨在心，想要殺掉他，只是不能得逞。 20 因為希律知道約翰是個公義聖潔的人，所以敬畏他，並對他加以保護。儘管約翰所講的道理令他困惑不安，他仍然喜歡聽。
21 機會終於來了。希律在自己的生日那天設宴招待文武百官和加利利的顯要。 22 希羅底的女兒進來跳舞，甚得希律和客人的歡心。王對她說：「你想要什麼，只管說。」 23 王還對她起誓說：「無論你要什麼，哪怕是我的半壁江山，我都會給你。」
24 她便出去問她母親：「我應該要什麼呢？」
她母親說：「要施洗者約翰的頭！」
25 她馬上回去對王說：「願王立刻把施洗者約翰的頭放在盤子裡送給我。」
26 王聽了這個請求，感到十分為難，但因為在賓客面前起了誓言，就不好拒絕。 27 他立刻命令衛兵進監牢砍了約翰的頭， 28 放在盤子裡送給這女子，她又轉送給她母親。 29 約翰的門徒聽到這個消息，就來把約翰的屍體領回去，安葬在墳墓裡。
耶穌使五千人吃飽
30 使徒們聚集在耶穌身邊，向祂報告事工和傳道的經過。 31 耶穌對他們說：「你們私下跟我到僻靜的地方去歇一會兒吧。」因為當時來來往往找他們的人實在太多，他們連吃飯的時間都沒有。
32 他們乘船悄悄地到了一處僻靜的地方。 33 可是有許多人看見他們離開，認出了他們，便從各城鎮步行趕往那裡，比他們先到達。 34 耶穌一下船，看見這一大群人好像沒有牧人的羊，心裡憐憫他們，於是教導了他們許多道理。
35 天色晚了，門徒過來對耶穌說：「時候已經不早了，這裡又是荒郊野外， 36 請遣散眾人，好讓他們到周圍的村莊去自己買些吃的。」
37 耶穌說：「你們給他們吃的吧。」
門徒說：「我們哪來這麼多錢買東西給他們吃啊？」
38 耶穌說：「看看你們有多少餅。」
他們察看後，說：「有五個餅和兩條魚。」
39 耶穌吩咐門徒叫大家分組坐在草地上。 40 於是眾人坐下，有的五十人一組，有的一百人一組。 41 耶穌拿起那五個餅、兩條魚，舉目望著天祝謝後，掰開遞給門徒，讓他們分給眾人。祂又照樣把那兩條魚分給眾人。 42 大家都吃了，並且吃飽了。 43 門徒把剩下的碎餅、碎魚收拾起來，裝滿了十二個籃子。 44 當時吃餅的男人有五千。
耶穌在湖面上行走
45 隨後，耶穌催門徒上船，叫他們先渡到湖對岸的伯賽大，祂則遣散眾人。 46 祂辭別了眾人後，就上山去禱告。 47 到了晚上，門徒的船在湖中心，耶穌獨自留在岸上。 48 大約凌晨三點鐘，祂看見門徒在逆風中搖櫓，非常吃力，就從水面上朝門徒走去，想要從他們旁邊經過。 49 門徒看見有人在湖面上走，以為是幽靈，嚇得驚叫起來。 50 全船的人看見祂，都嚇壞了，耶穌立刻對他們說：「放心吧，是我，不要怕！」
51 耶穌上了船，來到他們那裡，風便停了。門徒心裡十分驚奇， 52 因為他們仍然不明白耶穌分餅那件事的意義，心裡還是愚頑。 53 他們渡到湖對岸，來到革尼撒勒，在那裡靠岸， 54 剛一下船，眾人立刻認出了耶穌。 55 他們跑遍那一帶地方，用墊子把生病的人抬來，聽到耶穌在哪裡，就把病人抬到哪裡。 56 耶穌不論到哪一個城市、鄉鎮和村莊，人們總是把病人抬到街市上，求耶穌讓他們摸一摸祂衣裳的穗邊，所有摸過的病人都好了。

Jesús enseña en Nazaret
6 (A)Jesús se marchó de allí y llegó* a Su pueblo(B), y Sus discípulos lo siguieron*. 2 Cuando llegó el día de reposo, comenzó a enseñar en la sinagoga(C); y muchos que escuchaban se asombraban(D), diciendo: «¿Dónde obtuvo Este tales[a] cosas, y cuál es esta sabiduría que le ha sido dada, y estos milagros[b] que hace con Sus manos? 3 ¿No es Este el carpintero, el hijo de María, y hermano(E) de Jacobo[c], José, Judas y Simón(F)? ¿No están Sus hermanas(G) aquí con nosotros?». Y se escandalizaban a causa de Él(H). 4 Y Jesús les dijo: «No hay profeta sin honra sino en su propia tierra(I), y entre sus parientes y en su casa(J)».
5 Y no pudo hacer allí ningún milagro[d]; solo sanó a unos pocos enfermos sobre los cuales puso Sus manos(K). 6 Estaba maravillado de la incredulidad de ellos.
Y recorría las aldeas de alrededor enseñando(L).
Jesús envía a los doce
7 (M)Entonces Jesús llamó* a los doce(N) y comenzó a enviarlos de dos en dos(O), dándoles autoridad[e] sobre los espíritus inmundos; 8 y les ordenó que no llevaran nada para el camino(P), sino solo un bordón; ni pan, ni alforja[f], ni dinero en el cinto; 9 sino calzados con sandalias. «No lleven dos túnicas[g]», les dijo. 10 Y añadió: «Dondequiera que entren en una casa, quédense en ella hasta que salgan de la población[h]. 11 En cualquier lugar que no los reciban ni los escuchen, al salir de allí, sacúdanse el polvo de la planta[i]de los pies(Q)en testimonio contra ellos».
12 Saliendo los doce, predicaban[j](R) que todos se arrepintieran. 13 También echaban fuera muchos demonios, y ungían con aceite a muchos enfermos y los sanaban(S).
Muerte de Juan el Bautista
14 (T)El rey Herodes se enteró[k] de esto, pues el nombre de Jesús[l] se había hecho célebre, y la gente decía: «Juan el Bautista(U) ha resucitado de entre los muertos, por eso es que estos poderes milagrosos actúan en él». 15 Pero otros decían: «Es Elías». Y decían otros: «Es un profeta, como uno de los profetas antiguos(V)». 16 Al oír esto, Herodes decía: «Juan, a quien yo decapité, ha resucitado». 17 Porque Herodes mismo había enviado a prender a Juan y lo había encadenado en la cárcel por causa de Herodías, mujer de su hermano Felipe(W), pues Herodes se había casado con ella. 18 Y Juan le decía a Herodes: «No te es lícito tener la mujer de tu hermano(X)».
19 Herodías(Y) le tenía rencor y deseaba matarlo, pero no podía, 20 porque Herodes temía a Juan, sabiendo que era un hombre justo y santo(Z), y lo mantenía protegido. Cuando le oía se quedaba muy perplejo, pero le gustaba escucharlo[m].
21 Llegó un día oportuno, cuando Herodes, siendo su cumpleaños, ofreció un banquete(AA) a sus nobles y comandantes[n] y a los principales de Galilea(AB); 22 y cuando la hija de Herodías[o](AC) entró y danzó, agradó a Herodes y a los que se sentaban[p] a la mesa con él; y el rey dijo a la muchacha: «Pídeme lo que quieras y te lo daré».
23 Y le juró: «Te daré lo que me pidas, hasta la mitad de mi reino(AD)». 24 Ella salió y dijo a su madre: «¿Qué pediré?». «La cabeza de Juan el Bautista», le respondió ella. 25 Enseguida ella se presentó apresuradamente ante el rey con su petición[q], diciendo: «Quiero que me des ahora mismo la cabeza de Juan el Bautista en una bandeja».
26 Aunque el rey se puso muy triste, sin embargo a causa de sus juramentos y de los que se sentaban[r] con él a la mesa, no quiso contradecirla. 27 Al instante el rey envió a un verdugo y le ordenó que trajera la cabeza de Juan[s]. Y él fue y lo decapitó en la cárcel, 28 y trajo su cabeza en una bandeja, y se la dio a la muchacha, y la muchacha se la dio a su madre. 29 Cuando los discípulos de Juan oyeron esto, fueron y se llevaron el cuerpo y le dieron sepultura[t].
Alimentación de los cinco mil
30 Los apóstoles(AE) se reunieron* con Jesús, y le informaron sobre todo lo que habían hecho y enseñado(AF). 31 Y Él les dijo*: «Vengan, apártense de los demás a un lugar solitario y descansen un poco». Porque había muchos que iban y venían, y ellos no tenían tiempo ni siquiera para comer(AG). 32 (AH)Y se fueron en la barca a un lugar solitario, apartado(AI). 33 Pero la gente los vio salir, y muchos los reconocieron y juntos corrieron allá a pie de todas las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos.
34 Al desembarcar[u], Jesús vio una gran multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas sin pastor(AJ); y comenzó a enseñarles muchas cosas. 35 Y cuando ya era muy tarde, Sus discípulos se acercaron a Él, diciendo: «El lugar está desierto y ya es muy tarde; 36 despídelos para que vayan a los campos y aldeas de alrededor, y se compren algo de comer[v]».
37 «Denles ustedes de comer», les contestó Jesús. Y ellos le dijeron*: «¿Quieres que vayamos y compremos 200 denarios[w](AK) de pan y les demos de comer(AL)?». 38 Jesús les dijo*: «¿Cuántos panes tienen ustedes? Vayan y vean». Y cuando se cercioraron le dijeron*: «Cinco panes y dos peces».
39 Y les mandó que todos se recostaran por grupos sobre la hierba verde. 40 Y se recostaron por grupos de cien y de cincuenta. 41 Entonces Él tomó los cinco panes y los dos peces, y levantando los ojos al cielo, los bendijo; partió los panes y los iba dando a los discípulos para que se los sirvieran[x](AM); también repartió los dos peces entre todos.
42 Todos comieron y se saciaron. 43 Recogieron doce cestas llenas de los pedazos(AN), y también de los peces. 44 Los que comieron los panes eran 5,000 hombres(AO).
Jesús anda sobre el mar
45 (AP)Enseguida Jesús hizo que Sus discípulos subieran a la barca(AQ) y fueran delante de Él al otro lado, a Betsaida(AR), mientras Él despedía a la multitud. 46 Después de despedirse de ellos(AS), se fue al monte a orar(AT). 47 Al anochecer, la barca estaba en medio del mar, y Él estaba solo en tierra. 48 Y al verlos remar fatigados, porque el viento les era contrario, como a la cuarta vigilia de la noche(AU)[y], fue* hacia ellos andando sobre el mar, y quería pasarlos de largo.
49 Pero cuando ellos lo vieron andando sobre el mar, pensaron que era un fantasma y se pusieron a gritar; 50 porque todos lo vieron y se turbaron. Pero enseguida Él habló con ellos y les dijo*: «¡Tengan ánimo(AV); soy Yo, no teman(AW)!». 51 Subió con ellos a la barca(AX), y el viento se calmó; y ellos estaban asombrados en gran manera, 52 porque no habían entendido lo de[z] los panes, sino que su mente estaba embotada[aa](AY).
Jesús en Genesaret
53 (AZ)Terminada la travesía, llegaron a tierra en Genesaret, y atracaron en la orilla. 54 Cuando salieron de la barca, la gente enseguida reconoció a Jesús, 55 y recorrieron apresuradamente toda aquella región, y comenzaron a traer a los enfermos en sus camillas adonde oían decir que Él estaba. 56 Dondequiera que Él entraba en aldeas, ciudades o campos, ponían a los enfermos en las plazas, y le rogaban que les permitiera tocar(BA) siquiera el borde de Su manto(BB); y todos los que lo tocaban quedaban curados[ab].

6 And he went out from thence, and came into his own country; and his disciples follow him.
2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.
4 But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
5 And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
14 And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
15 Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.
16 But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.
17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54 And when they were come out of the ship, straightway they knew him,
55 And ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.
56 And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.

A Prophet Without Honor
6 Jesus left there and went to his hometown. His disciples followed him. 2 When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did this man learn these things? What is this wisdom that has been given to this man? How is it that miracles such as these are performed by his hands? 3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own house.” 5 He could not do any miracles there except to lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 He was amazed at their unbelief. Then he went around the villages teaching.
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
7 Jesus called the Twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 He instructed them to take nothing for their journey except a staff—no bread, no bag, no money in their money belts. 9 They were to put on sandals but not to wear two coats. 10 He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave that area. 11 Any place that will not receive you or listen to you, as you leave there, shake off the dust that is under your feet as a testimony against them.”
12 They went out and preached that people should repent. 13 They also drove out many demons. They anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
Recalling the Death of John the Baptizer
14 King Herod heard about this because Jesus’ name had become well known. Herod was saying, “John the Baptizer has been raised from the dead! That is why these powers are at work in him.”
15 But others were saying, “He is Elijah.” Still others were saying, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”
16 When Herod heard this, he said, “This is John, the man I beheaded. He was raised.” 17 For it was Herod who had sent men to arrest John. He had him bound in prison because Herod had married Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip. 18 Indeed, John had been telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
19 Herodias held a grudge against John and wanted to put him to death, but she could not, 20 because Herod feared John. He knew that John was a righteous and holy man, so he kept him safe. When Herod listened to John, he was perplexed in many ways, yet he gladly kept listening to him.
21 An opportune day came when it was Herod’s birthday. He gave a banquet for his nobles, the military officers, and the prominent men of Galilee. 22 When the daughter of Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and his guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.” 23 With an oath he promised her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”
24 She went out and said to her mother, “What should I ask for?”
Herodias said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”
25 The girl hurried right back to the king and made her request: “I want you to give me the head of John the Baptist on a platter right now.”
26 The king was very sad. But because of his oaths and his dinner guests, he did not want to refuse her. 27 The king sent an executioner at once and ordered him to bring John’s head. He went, beheaded John in prison, 28 brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl. Then the girl gave it to her mother.
29 When John’s disciples heard about this, they came and took his body and laid it in a tomb.
Jesus Feeds More Than Five Thousand
30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all that they had done and taught. 31 He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” For there were so many people coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat. 32 They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves. 33 But many people saw them leave and knew where they were going. They ran there on foot from all the towns and arrived ahead of them. 34 When Jesus stepped out of the boat, he saw a large crowd. His heart went out to them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. He began to teach them many things. 35 It was already late in the day when his disciples came to him and said, “This is a deserted place and it is already very late. 36 Send them away so they can go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves something to eat.”
37 But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.”
They asked him, “Should we go and buy two hundred denarii[a] worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
38 He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.”
When they found out, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 He directed everyone to sit down in groups on the green grass. 40 They sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties. 41 Jesus took the five loaves and the two fish, looked up to heaven, and blessed the loaves and broke them. Then he kept giving pieces to his disciples to set in front of them. He also divided the two fish among them all. 42 They all ate and were satisfied. 43 Then they picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces of bread and fish. 44 There were five thousand men who ate the loaves.
Jesus Walks on Water
45 Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself dismissed the crowd. 46 After he had sent them off, he went up the mountain to pray.
47 When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and Jesus was alone on the land. 48 He saw them straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night,[b] he went to them, walking on the sea. He was ready to pass by them. 49 When they saw him walking on the sea, they thought he was a ghost, and they cried out. 50 They all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke with them and said, “Take courage! It is I.[c] Do not be afraid.” 51 Then he climbed up into the boat with them, and the wind stopped. They were completely amazed, 52 because they had not understood about the loaves. Instead, their hearts were hardened.
53 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. 54 As soon as they stepped out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. 55 They ran around that whole region and began to bring sick people on their stretchers to where they heard he was. 56 Wherever he entered villages, cities, or the countryside, they were laying sick people in the marketplaces and pleading with him that they might just touch the edge of his garment. And all who touched it were made well.
