คำอุปมาเรื่องผู้หว่าน(A)
4 แล้วพระเยซูทรงสอนที่ริมทะเลสาบอีก ฝูงชนรุมล้อมพระองค์แน่นขนัดจนพระองค์ต้องเสด็จลงไปประทับนั่งในเรือ ขณะที่ประชาชนอยู่ที่ชายฝั่ง 2 พระองค์ทรงยกคำอุปมาสอนหลายสิ่งแก่พวกเขาว่า 3 “ฟังเถิด! ชาวนาผู้หนึ่งออกไปหว่านเมล็ดพืช 4 ขณะที่หว่านบางเมล็ดก็ตกตามทางและนกมาจิกกินหมด 5 บางเมล็ดตกบนพื้นกรวดหินซึ่งมีเนื้อดินน้อยจึงงอกขึ้นโดยเร็วเพราะดินตื้น 6 แต่เมื่อแดดเผาก็เหี่ยวไปเพราะไม่มีราก 7 บางเมล็ดตกกลางพงหนาม ต้นหนามก็งอกคลุมจึงไม่เกิดผล 8 แต่ยังมีเมล็ดบางส่วนตกบนดินดี งอกขึ้นมา เติบโตและเกิดผลสามสิบเท่า หกสิบเท่า หรือถึงร้อยเท่า”

10 เมื่อทรงอยู่ตามลำพัง สาวกทั้งสิบสองคนกับคนอื่นที่แวดล้อมพระองค์อยู่ทูลถามพระองค์เกี่ยวกับคำอุปมาเหล่านั้น 11 พระองค์ทรงบอกพวกเขาว่า “ความลับของอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าทรงโปรดให้พวกท่านรู้ ส่วนคนนอกนั้นทุกอย่างจะใช้คำอุปมา 12 เพื่อว่า
“ ‘พวกเขาจะดูแล้วดูเล่าแต่จะไม่มีวันประจักษ์
และจะฟังแล้วฟังเล่าแต่จะไม่มีวันเข้าใจ
มิฉะนั้นแล้วเขาจะหันกลับมาและได้รับการอภัย!’[a]”

ตะเกียงบนเชิงตะเกียง
21 พระองค์ตรัสกับพวกเขาว่า “ท่านไม่เอาตะเกียงวางไว้ใต้ถังหรือวางไว้ใต้เตียงใช่ไหม? ตรงกันข้าม ท่านย่อมตั้งไว้บนเชิงตะเกียงไม่ใช่หรือ? 22 เพราะสิ่งที่ซ่อนเร้นจะถูกเปิดเผย สิ่งที่ปิดบังไว้จะถูกเปิดโปง 23 ใครมีหูที่จะฟังก็จงฟังเถิด”
24 พระองค์ตรัสอีกว่า “จงพิจารณาสิ่งที่ท่านได้ยินอย่างถี่ถ้วน ท่านตวงให้ไปด้วยทะนานอันใดท่านก็จะได้รับเท่ากับทะนานอันนั้น และได้รับมากยิ่งกว่านั้นอีก 25 ผู้ใดมีอยู่แล้วจะได้รับเพิ่มขึ้น ส่วนผู้ที่ไม่มีแม้ที่เขามีอยู่ก็จะถูกริบเอาไปจากเขา”
คำอุปมาเรื่องเมล็ดพืชที่งอกขึ้น
26 พระองค์ตรัสด้วยว่า “อาณาจักรของพระเจ้าเป็นเหมือนคนหนึ่งหว่านเมล็ดพืชลงในดิน 27 ทั้งวันทั้งคืนไม่ว่าเขาหลับหรือตื่น เมล็ดพืชก็งอกและเติบโตขึ้นแม้เขาไม่รู้ว่ามันงอกขึ้นได้อย่างไร 28 ดินทำให้มันงอกเป็นต้นอ่อนแล้วออกรวง จากนั้นมีเมล็ดข้าวเต็มรวง 29 เมื่อข้าวสุกแล้ว เขาก็ใช้เคียวเกี่ยวเพราะถึงฤดูเกี่ยวแล้ว”
คำอุปมาเรื่องเมล็ดมัสตาร์ด(B)
30 พระองค์ตรัสอีกว่า “พวกเราจะเปรียบอาณาจักรของพระเจ้ากับอะไรดี หรือจะยกอุปมาใดมาอธิบาย? 31 อาณาจักรของพระเจ้านั้นก็เหมือนเมล็ดมัสตาร์ดซึ่งเป็นเมล็ดที่เล็กที่สุดเมื่อเพาะลงในดิน 32 แต่เมื่องอกขึ้นก็เป็นต้นใหญ่ที่สุดในสวน แผ่กิ่งก้านสาขาจนนกในอากาศมาพักอาศัยในร่มเงาได้”

The Parable of the Sower(A)
4 And (B)again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea. 2 Then He taught them many things by parables, (C)and said to them in His teaching:
3 “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds [a]of the air came and devoured it. 5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7 And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no [b]crop. 8 But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9 And He said [c]to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
The Purpose of Parables(D)
10 (E)But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to (F)know the [d]mystery of the kingdom of God; but to (G)those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that
(H)‘Seeing they may see and not perceive,
And hearing they may hear and not understand;
Lest they should turn,
And their sins be forgiven them.’ ”
The Parable of the Sower Explained(I)
13 And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 (J)The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble. 18 Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the (K)cares of this world, (L)the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, [e]accept it, and bear (M)fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Light Under a Basket(N)
21 (O)Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? 22 (P)For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light. 23 (Q)If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
24 Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. (R)With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. 25 (S)For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26 And He said, (T)“The kingdom of God is as if a man should [f]scatter seed on the ground, 27 and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and (U)grow, he himself does not know how. 28 For the earth (V)yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. 29 But when the grain ripens, immediately (W)he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
The Parable of the Mustard Seed(X)
30 Then He said, (Y)“To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? 31 It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; 32 but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade.”
Jesus’ Use of Parables
33 (Z)And with many such parables He spoke the word to them as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, (AA)He explained all things to His disciples.
Wind and Wave Obey Jesus(AB)
35 (AC)On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, (AD)“Teacher, (AE)do You not care that we are perishing?”
39 Then He arose and (AF)rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, (AG)“Peace,[g] be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? (AH)How[h] is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Ang Talinghaga ng Manghahasik(A)
4 Siya'y(B) muling nagpasimulang magturo sa tabi ng dagat. At nagtipon sa palibot niya ang napakaraming tao, kaya't siya'y sumakay sa isang bangkang nasa lawa at naupo roon. Ang lahat ng tao ay nasa dalampasigan.
2 Sila'y tinuruan niya ng maraming bagay sa pamamagitan ng mga talinghaga at sa kanyang pagtuturo ay sinabi niya sa kanila,
3 “Makinig kayo. Ang isang manghahasik ay lumabas upang maghasik.
4 At nangyari, sa kanyang paghahasik, ang ilang binhi ay nahulog sa tabi ng daan at nagdatingan ang mga ibon at kinain ito.
5 Ang iba ay nahulog sa batuhan na doo'y walang maraming lupa. Agad itong sumibol sapagkat hindi malalim ang lupa.
6 Nang sumikat ang araw, nainitan ito at dahil sa walang ugat, ito'y natuyo.
7 Ang iba ay nahulog sa tinikan at lumaki ang mga tinik at sinakal ito, at ito'y hindi namunga.
8 Ang iba ay nahulog sa mabuting lupa at namunga, na tumataas, lumalago at namumunga ng tatlumpu, animnapu, at isandaan.”
9 At sinabi niya, “Ang may taingang pandinig ay makinig.”
Ang Layunin ng mga Talinghaga(C)
10 Nang siya'y mag-isa na, ang mga nasa palibot niya kasama ang labindalawa ay nagtanong sa kanya tungkol sa mga talinghaga.
11 At sinabi niya sa kanila, “Sa inyo ipinagkaloob ang hiwaga ng kaharian ng Diyos, ngunit sa kanilang nasa labas, ang lahat ng mga bagay ay ginagawa sa mga talinghaga;
12 upang(D) kung sa pagtingin ay hindi sila makakita; at sa pakikinig ay hindi sila makaunawa, baka sila'y magbalik-loob at mapatawad.”
13 At sinabi niya sa kanila, “Hindi ba ninyo nalalaman ang talinghagang ito? Paano nga ninyo mauunawaan ang lahat ng mga talinghaga?
14 Ang manghahasik ay naghahasik ng salita.
15 Ito ang mga nasa tabi ng daan na nahasikan ng salita. Nang kanilang mapakinggan ito, agad dumating si Satanas at inagaw ang salitang inihasik sa kanila.
16 Gayundin naman ang mga nahasik sa batuhan, nang marinig nila ang salita, agad nila itong tinanggap na may galak;
17 at hindi ito nagkaugat sa kanilang sarili, kundi panandalian lamang. Kaya't nang dumating ang kapighatian o ang mga pag-uusig dahil sa salita, kaagad silang tumatalikod.[a]
18 Ang iba'y nahasik sa tinikan. Ang mga ito ang nakinig ng salita,
19 ngunit ang mga alalahanin ng sanlibutan, ang pang-akit ng mga kayamanan, at ang mga pagnanasa sa ibang bagay ay pumasok at sinakal ang salita at ito'y hindi nakapamunga.
20 Ang mga ito ang nahasik sa mabuting lupa: narinig nila ang salita, tinanggap ito at namumunga ng tatlumpu, animnapu at isandaan.”
Ang Ilawan sa Ilalim ng Takalan(E)
21 At(F) sinabi niya sa kanila, “Inilalabas ba ang ilawan upang ilagay sa ilalim ng takalan, o sa ilalim ng higaan, at hindi sa talagang lalagyan ng ilawan?
22 Sapagkat(G) walang bagay na nakatago na hindi ihahayag; o walang nalilihim na hindi ilalantad sa liwanag.
23 Kung ang sinuman ay may taingang ipandirinig, hayaan siyang makinig.”
24 At(H) sinabi niya sa kanila, “Pag-ingatan ninyo kung ano ang inyong pinapakinggan: sa panukat na inyong isinusukat, kayo'y susukatin; at higit pa ang sa inyo'y ibibigay.
25 Sapagkat(I) ang mayroon ay lalo pang bibigyan; at ang wala, pati na ang nasa kanya ay kukunin pa.”
Ang Binhing Tumutubo
26 Sinabi niya, “Ang kaharian ng Diyos ay gaya ng isang taong naghahasik ng binhi sa lupa,
27 at natutulog at bumabangon siya sa gabi at araw. Sumisibol at lumalaki ang binhi na hindi niya nalalaman kung paano.
28 Ang lupa mismo ang nagpapasibol sa halaman,[b] una ang usbong, saka ang uhay, pagkatapos ay ang uhay na hitik sa butil.
29 Ngunit(J) kapag hinog na ang bunga, agad niyang kinukuha ang karit, sapagkat dumating na ang pag-aani.”
Ang Butil ng Mustasa(K)
30 Kanyang sinabi, “Sa ano natin maihahambing ang kaharian ng Diyos; o anong talinghaga ang gagamitin natin para dito?
31 Ito'y tulad sa butil ng binhi ng mustasa na kapag naihasik sa lupa, bagama't siyang pinakamaliit sa lahat ng mga binhi na nasa lupa,
32 ngunit kapag ito'y naihasik ay tumutubo, nagiging mas malaki kaysa lahat ng mga halaman, at nagsasanga ng malalaki, anupa't ang mga ibon sa himpapawid ay nakakagawa ng mga pugad sa lilim nito.”
Ang mga Talinghaga ni Jesus
33 Sa pamamagitan ng gayong maraming talinghaga, sinabi niya sa kanila ang salita, ayon sa kakayahan nilang makinig.
34 At hindi siya nagsalita sa kanila maliban sa talinghaga ngunit sa kanyang sariling mga alagad ay sarilinan niyang ipinapaliwanag ang lahat ng mga bagay.
Pinatigil ni Jesus ang Unos(L)
35 Nang araw ding iyon, nang sumapit na ang gabi ay sinabi niya sa kanila, “Tumawid tayo sa kabilang ibayo.”
36 Pagkaiwan sa maraming tao, siya'y kanilang isinama sa bangka, ayon sa kanyang kalagayan. At may iba pang mga bangka na kasama niya.
37 At nagkaroon ng isang malakas na unos, sumalpok ang mga alon sa bangka, anupa't ang bangka ay halos napupuno na ng tubig.
38 Ngunit siya'y nasa hulihan ng bangka at natutulog na may inuunan. Siya'y ginising nila, at sinabi sa kanya, “Guro, hindi ka ba nababahala na mapapahamak tayo?”
39 Paggising niya ay sinaway niya ang hangin at sinabi sa dagat, “Pumayapa ka. Tumahimik ka!” Tumigil nga ang hangin at nagkaroon ng katahimikan.
40 Sinabi niya sa kanila, “Bakit kayo natakot? Wala ba kayong pananampalataya?”
41 Sila'y sinidlan ng malaking takot at sinabi sa isa't isa, “Sino nga ito, na pati ang hangin at ang dagat ay sumusunod sa kanya?”
