耶穌在彼拉多面前受審
15 清早，祭司長、長老、律法教師和全公會的人商定後，便把耶穌綁起來押送到彼拉多那裡。
2 彼拉多問耶穌：「你是猶太人的王嗎？」
耶穌回答說：「如你所言。」
3 祭司長控告耶穌許多罪。
4 彼拉多又問道：「你看，他們控告你這麼多，你都不回答嗎？」
5 耶穌仍舊一言不發，彼拉多感到驚奇。
6 每年逾越節的時候，彼拉多都會照慣例按猶太人的要求釋放一個囚犯。 7 那時，有一個囚犯名叫巴拉巴，與其他作亂時殺過人的囚犯關在一起。 8 百姓聚來，要求彼拉多照慣例釋放囚犯。
9 彼拉多問：「你們要我為你們釋放猶太人的王嗎？」 10 因為他知道祭司長把耶穌押來是出於妒忌。 11 但祭司長卻煽動百姓，叫他們要求彼拉多釋放巴拉巴。
12 彼拉多只好問：「那麼，這位你們稱之為猶太人之王的，我如何處置呢？」
13 他們喊著說：「把祂釘在十字架上！」
14 彼拉多問：「為什麼？祂犯了什麼罪？」
他們卻更大聲地喊：「把祂釘在十字架上！」
15 為了取悅眾人，彼拉多釋放了巴拉巴，命人將耶穌鞭打後帶出去釘十字架。
耶穌受辱
16 於是，衛兵把耶穌帶進總督府的院子，集合了全營的兵。 17 他們給祂穿上紫袍，用荊棘編成王冠戴在祂頭上， 18 向祂行禮，並喊著說：「猶太人的王萬歲！」 19 他們用葦稈打祂的頭，向祂吐唾沫，跪拜祂。 20 戲弄完了，就脫去祂的紫袍，給祂穿上原來的衣服，押祂出去釘十字架。
釘十字架
21 亞歷山大和魯孚的父親古利奈人西門從鄉下來，途經那地方，衛兵就強迫他背耶穌的十字架。 22 他們把耶穌帶到各各他——意思是「髑髏地」， 23 拿沒藥調和的酒給祂喝，但祂不肯喝。 24 他們把耶穌釘在十字架上，還抽籤分祂的衣服。 25 他們釘祂十字架的時間是在上午九點鐘。 26 祂的罪狀牌上寫著「猶太人的王」。
27 他們還把兩個強盜釘在十字架上，一個在祂右邊，一個在祂左邊， 28 這應驗了聖經的話：「祂被列在罪犯中。」 29 過路的人都嘲笑祂，搖著頭說：「哈，你這要把聖殿拆毀又在三天內重建的人啊， 30 救救你自己，從十字架上下來吧！」
31 祭司長和律法教師也嘲諷說：「祂救了別人，卻救不了自己！ 32 以色列的王基督，現在從十字架上下來吧！讓我們看看，我們就信了！」與祂同釘十字架的強盜也對祂出言不遜。
耶穌之死
33 正午時分，黑暗籠罩著整個大地，一直到下午三點。 34 大約在三點，耶穌大聲呼喊：「以羅伊，以羅伊，拉馬撒巴各大尼？」意思是：「我的上帝，我的上帝，你為什麼離棄我？」
35 有些站在旁邊的人聽見了，就說：「聽，祂在呼叫以利亞。」
36 有人跑去把一塊海綿蘸滿酸酒，綁在葦稈上送給祂喝，說：「等等，讓我們看看以利亞會不會救祂下來。」
37 耶穌大叫一聲，就斷了氣。 38 聖殿的幔子從上到下裂成兩半。 39 站在對面的百夫長看見耶穌喊叫[a]斷氣的情形，便說：「這人真是上帝的兒子！」
40 有些婦女在遠處觀看，其中有抹大拉的瑪麗亞、小雅各和約西的母親瑪麗亞並撒羅米。 41 耶穌在加利利時，她們已經跟隨祂、服侍祂了。此外還有好些跟著祂上耶路撒冷的婦女。
安葬耶穌
42 那天是猶太人的預備日，也就是安息日的前一天。傍晚， 43 亞利馬太人約瑟鼓起勇氣去見彼拉多，要求領取耶穌的遺體。他是一位德高望重的公會議員，一位等候上帝國降臨的人。 44 彼拉多聽見耶穌已經死了，十分驚訝，便把百夫長召來問個明白， 45 得知耶穌確實已死，便將耶穌的遺體交給約瑟。
46 約瑟把耶穌的遺體取下來，用買來的細麻布裹好，安放在一個在岩壁上鑿出的墓穴裡，又滾來一塊大石頭堵住洞口。 47 抹大拉的瑪麗亞和約西的母親瑪麗亞都親眼看到了安葬耶穌的地方。

Judarnas högsta domstol dömer Jesus till döden
15 Tidigt på morgonen möttes översteprästerna, de äldste och lagexperterna - alltså hela högsta domstolen - för att diskutera vad som skulle ske härnäst. De beslutade sig då för att sända Jesus under sträng bevakning till Pilatus, den romerske landshövdingen.
Jesus förhörs av Pilatus
2 Pilatus frågade honom: Är du judarnas kung? Ja, svarade Jesus, det är som du säger.
3-4 Sedan anklagade översteprästerna honom för många olika brott, och Pilatus frågade honom: Varför säger du ingenting? Stämmer de här anklagelserna?
5 Men till Pilatus stora förvåning sa Jesus inte ett ord.
Pilatus utlämnar Jesus till att korsfästas
6 Nu var det sed att Pilatus frigav en judisk fånge varje år i samband med påskfirandet, en fånge vilken som helst som folket begärde att få fri.
7 En av dem som satt fängslad vid detta tillfälle hette Barabbas. Tillsammans med några andra hade han dömts för mord under ett politiskt uppror.
8 Nu började en folkhop samlas omkring Pilatus för att be honom göra som han brukade.
9 Vad säger ni om 'judarnas kung'? frågade Pilatus. Är det honom ni vill få frisläppt?
10 (Han förstod nu att Jesus var populär bland folket, och att det var av avundsjuka som översteprästerna organiserat denna komplott.)
11 Men översteprästerna hetsade upp folkhopen och fick dem att kräva att Barabbas skulle släppas fri i stället för Jesus.
12 Men om jag släpper Barabbas, frågade Pilatus, vad ska jag då göra med den här mannen som ni kallar er kung?
13 Korsfäst honom! ropade de tillbaka.
14 Men varför det? frågade Pilatus. Vad har han gjort för ont? Då skrek de ännu högre: Korsfäst honom!
15 Då släppte Pilatus Barabbas fri eftersom han var rädd för att gå emot den upprörda folkmassan. Och han befallde att Jesus skulle piskas med ett blygissel och skickade så iväg honom för att korsfästas.
Romerska soldater hånar Jesus
16-17 De romerska soldaterna förde då in Jesus i palatsets militärförläggning och kallade sedan samman hela vaktstyrkan. De klädde på honom en röd mantel, så att han skulle se ut som en kung, och gjorde en krona av långa vassa törnen och tryckte fast den på hans huvud.
18 Sedan gjorde de honnör och skrek: Länge leve judarnas kung.
19 Och de slog honom i huvudet med ett rör och spottade på honom och föll ned på sina knän för att tillbe honom.
20 När de slutligen tröttnade på att håna honom tog de av honom den röda manteln och satte på honom hans egna kläder igen. Därefter ledde de bort honom för att korsfästa honom.
Jesus förs bort för att korsfästas
21 På vägen dit mötte de Simon från Kyrene, som var på väg från landet in till staden. Honom tvingade de att bära Jesu kors (Simon var far till Alexander och Rufus).
22 Och soldaterna förde Jesus till en plats som kallades Golgata (det betyder skalle).
23 Där gav man honom vin, som blandats med bittra örter, men han vägrade dricka det.
24 Sedan spikade de fast honom på ett kors och delade hans kläder mellan sig genom att kasta lott om dem.
Jesus blir korsfäst
25 Klockan var omkring nio på morgonen när de korsfäste honom.
26 På korset, ovanför hans huvud, satte man upp en skylt där man kunde läsa vad han blivit dömd för. Det stod: Judarnas kung.
27 Samma morgon korsfästes också två brottslingar, den ene till höger och den andre till vänster om Jesus.
28 Så uppfylldes det som profeten Jesaja förutsagt: Han räknades som en brottsling.
29-30 Och de som gick förbi platsen spottade hånfullt och visade sitt förakt för honom genom att skaka på huvudet.Var det inte du som ville riva ner templet och bygga upp det igen på tre dagar? skrek de. Om du är så märkvärdig hjälp då dig själv och kom ner från korset.
31 Också översteprästerna och lagexperterna stod där och skämtade om Jesus.Han är ganska bra på att 'hjälpa' andra, sa de, men han kan inte hjälpa sig själv!
32 Du Messias! ropade de åt honom. Du som är Israels kung! Kom ner från korset så ska vi tro på dig!Och till och med rövarna, som skulle dö tillsammans med honom, hånade honom.
Jesus dör på korset
33 Vid middagstid blev det plötsligt mörkt i hela landet, och det var mörkt ända till klockan tre.
34 Då ropade Jesus med hög röst: Eli, Eli, lema sabachtani, (det betyder 'min Gud, min Gud, varför har du övergett mig')?
35 Några av dem som stod där trodde att han ropade på profeten Elia.
36 En man sprang då bort och hämtade en svamp och fyllde den med surt vin, och de sträckte upp den till honom på en käpp.Nu får vi se om Elia kommer och tar ner honom, sa han.
37 Då ropade Jesus ännu en gång, och i nästa ögonblick var han död.
38 Då brast förhänget i templet mitt itu, uppifrån och ända ned.
39 När den romerske officeren, som stod bredvid korset, såg hur Jesus dog, ropade han: Den här mannen var verkligen Guds Son!
40 Några kvinnor hade stått på avstånd och sett allt det som hände. Bland dem var Maria Magdalena, Maria (Jakob den yngres och Joses mor), Salome och några till.
41 De hade redan i Galileen följt med honom och hjälpt honom. Nu hade de tillsammans med flera andra kommit till Jerusalem.
Jesus begravs
42-43 Allt detta hände på fredagen före sabbaten. Sent på eftermiddagen samma dag var Josef från Arimataia modig nog att gå till Pilatus och be om att få Jesu kropp. Josef var en aktad medlem av den judiska högsta domstolen, och en man som personligen ivrigt väntade på att Guds rike skulle komma.
44 Men Pilatus hade svårt att tro att Jesus redan var död så han kallade till sig den romerske befälhavaren för att fråga honom.
45 Officeren meddelade att Jesus redan var död. Då gav Pilatus Josef tillåtelse att ta hand om kroppen.
46 Och Josef gick och köpte en lång linneduk. Sedan tog han ner Jesu kropp från korset, lindade in den i duken och lade den i en klippgrav. Därefter spärrade han ingången med en stor sten,
47 och Maria Magdalena och Maria, Joses mor, stod och såg på när han lade Jesu kropp i graven.

Jesus Before Pilate(A)
15 Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law(B) and the whole Sanhedrin,(C) made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.(D)
2 “Are you the king of the Jews?”(E) asked Pilate.
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.
3 The chief priests accused him of many things. 4 So again Pilate asked him, “Aren’t you going to answer? See how many things they are accusing you of.”
5 But Jesus still made no reply,(F) and Pilate was amazed.
6 Now it was the custom at the festival to release a prisoner whom the people requested. 7 A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising. 8 The crowd came up and asked Pilate to do for them what he usually did.
9 “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?”(G) asked Pilate, 10 knowing it was out of self-interest that the chief priests had handed Jesus over to him. 11 But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have Pilate release Barabbas(H) instead.
12 “What shall I do, then, with the one you call the king of the Jews?” Pilate asked them.
13 “Crucify him!” they shouted.
14 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
15 Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged,(I) and handed him over to be crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(J)
16 The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace(K) (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. 18 And they began to call out to him, “Hail, king of the Jews!”(L) 19 Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out(M) to crucify him.
The Crucifixion of Jesus(N)
21 A certain man from Cyrene,(O) Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus,(P) was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.(Q) 22 They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). 23 Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh,(R) but he did not take it. 24 And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots(S) to see what each would get.
25 It was nine in the morning when they crucified him. 26 The written notice of the charge against him read: the king of the jews.(T)
27 They crucified two rebels with him, one on his right and one on his left. [28] [a] 29 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads(U) and saying, “So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days,(V) 30 come down from the cross and save yourself!” 31 In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him(W) among themselves. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! 32 Let this Messiah,(X) this king of Israel,(Y) come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him.
The Death of Jesus(Z)
33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.(AA) 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).[b](AB)
35 When some of those standing near heard this, they said, “Listen, he’s calling Elijah.”
36 Someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar,(AC) put it on a staff, and offered it to Jesus to drink. “Now leave him alone. Let’s see if Elijah comes to take him down,” he said.
37 With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last.(AD)
38 The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.(AE) 39 And when the centurion,(AF) who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died,[c] he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!”(AG)
40 Some women were watching from a distance.(AH) Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph,[d] and Salome.(AI) 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there.(AJ)
The Burial of Jesus(AK)
42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath).(AL) So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council,(AM) who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God,(AN) went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. 45 When he learned from the centurion(AO) that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.(AP) 47 Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph(AQ) saw where he was laid.

Jesus Faces Pilate(A)
15 Immediately, (B)in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council; and they bound Jesus, led Him away, and (C)delivered Him to Pilate. 2 (D)Then Pilate asked Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?”
He answered and said to him, “It is as you say.”
3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things, but He (E)answered nothing. 4 (F)Then Pilate asked Him again, saying, “Do You answer nothing? See how many things [a]they testify against You!” 5 (G)But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate marveled.
Taking the Place of Barabbas(H)
6 Now (I)at the feast he was accustomed to releasing one prisoner to them, whomever they requested. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, who was chained with his fellow rebels; they had committed murder in the rebellion. 8 Then the multitude, [b]crying aloud, began to ask him to do just as he had always done for them. 9 But Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?” 10 For he knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy.
11 But (J)the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should rather release Barabbas to them. 12 Pilate answered and said to them again, “What then do you want me to do with Him whom you call the (K)King of the Jews?”
13 So they cried out again, “Crucify Him!”
14 Then Pilate said to them, “Why, (L)what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, “Crucify Him!”
15 (M)So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be (N)crucified.
The Soldiers Mock Jesus(O)
16 (P)Then the soldiers led Him away into the hall called [c]Praetorium, and they called together the whole garrison. 17 And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head, 18 and began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” 19 Then they (Q)struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they worshiped Him. 20 And when they had (R)mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.
The King on a Cross(S)
21 (T)Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear His cross. 22 (U)And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. 23 (V)Then they gave Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it. 24 And when they crucified Him, (W)they divided His garments, casting lots for them to determine what every man should take.
25 Now (X)it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. 26 And (Y)the inscription of His [d]accusation was written above:
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27 (Z)With Him they also crucified two robbers, one on His right and the other on His left. 28 [e]So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, (AA)“And He was numbered with the transgressors.”
29 And (AB)those who passed by blasphemed Him, (AC)wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! (AD)You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30 save Yourself, and come down from the cross!”
31 Likewise the chief priests also, (AE)mocking among themselves with the scribes, said, “He saved (AF)others; Himself He cannot save. 32 Let the Christ, the King of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and [f]believe.”
Even (AG)those who were crucified with Him reviled Him.
Jesus Dies on the Cross(AH)
33 Now (AI)when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?” which is translated, (AJ)“My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard that, said, “Look, He is calling for Elijah!” 36 Then (AK)someone ran and filled a sponge full of sour wine, put it on a reed, and (AL)offered it to Him to drink, saying, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to take Him down.”
37 (AM)And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.
38 Then (AN)the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 So (AO)when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that [g]He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”
40 (AP)There were also women looking on (AQ)from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome, 41 who also (AR)followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb(AS)
42 (AT)Now when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member, who (AU)was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, coming and taking courage, went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44 Pilate marveled that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him if He had been dead for some time. 45 So when he found out from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. 46 (AV)Then he bought fine linen, took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen. And he laid Him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock, and rolled a stone against the door of the tomb. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was laid.
