²⁷耶稣对门徒们说∶“你们都将丧失信仰。因为《经》上写着：

‘我要杀死牧羊人。
羊群就会四处逃散。’ ^(A)

²⁸但是在我复活以后，我会比你们先到加利利。”

²⁹这时彼得说∶“即使其他所有的人对您失去了信仰，我也不会这样做。”

³⁰耶稣对他说∶“我实话告诉你：今天，就在今夜鸡叫两遍以前，你会三次说你不认识我。”

³¹彼得却坚决地说∶“即使我必须和您一同死，我也决不会说我不认识您。”其他门徒也这么说。

²⁷“You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:

“‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.’^[a]^(B)

²⁸But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”^(C)

²⁹Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”

³⁰“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice^[b] you yourself will disown me three times.”^(D)

³¹But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you,^(E) I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.
