11 當耶穌和門徒們臨近耶路撒冷,到橄欖山附近的伯法其伯大尼的時候,耶穌派了他的兩個門徒, 對他們說:「你們到對面的村子裡去。你們一進村,就會發現一頭驢駒拴在那裡,是從來沒有人騎過的。你們把牠解開牽過來。 如果有人問你們為什麼這麼做,你們就說『主需要牠[a],會很快把牠送回這裡來的。』」

兩個門徒去了,果然發現一頭驢駒拴在岔路口一個門外,他們就解開驢駒。 站在那裡的一些人問:「你們解開驢駒做什麼呢?」 他們就照著耶穌所吩咐的回答,那些人就讓他們牽走[b]了。 他們牽著驢駒到耶穌那裡,把自己的外衣墊在驢駒上,耶穌就騎了上去。

許多人把自己的外衣鋪在路上,也有人從田野裡[c]砍來樹枝鋪在路上[d] 前行後隨的人都呼喊:

「和散那!
奉主名而來的那一位——是蒙祝福的![e]
10 [f]將要來的,我們先祖大衛的國度——是蒙祝福的!
在至高之處——和散那!」

11 耶穌進了耶路撒冷,來到聖殿,環視周圍的一切。天已經晚了,他就與十二使徒[g]一同離開,往伯大尼去了。

不結果子的無花果樹

12 第二天,當他們離開伯大尼的時候,耶穌餓了。 13 他遠遠地看見一棵長滿葉子的無花果樹,就上前去,要看看樹上是否有什麼。他來到樹下,除了葉子什麼也找不到,因為不是結無花果的季節。 14 於是他對那棵樹說:「永遠不再有任何人吃到你的果子了!」他的門徒都聽見了。

潔淨聖殿

15 他們來到耶路撒冷。耶穌進了聖殿,開始把那些在聖殿裡做買賣的人趕出去。他推翻了兌換銀幣之人的桌子和賣鴿子之人的凳子, 16 也不准任何人搬運東西穿過聖殿。

17 耶穌教導他們說:「經上不是記著『我的殿將被稱為萬國禱告的殿』[h]嗎?而你們卻使它成為賊窩了![i] 18 祭司長們和經文士們聽了,就圖謀怎樣來除滅耶穌。原來他們怕耶穌,因為眾人都對他的教導驚嘆不已。

19 到了傍晚的時候,耶穌和門徒們就到城外去。

無花果樹枯萎

20 清晨,他們路過那棵無花果樹的時候,看見它連根都枯萎了。 21 彼得想起來就對耶穌說:「拉比,你看!你所詛咒的無花果樹枯萎了!」

22 耶穌對他們說:「你們當對神有信心。 23 我確實地告訴你們:無論誰對這座山說『願你被挪開,被丟進海裡去!』只要他心裡不疑惑,相信自己所說的會成就,事情[j]就將為他成就。 24 所以,我告訴你們:凡是你們所禱告和祈求的,當相信已經得著了[k]。這樣,事情就將為你們成就。 25 當你們站著禱告的時候,如果向什麼人懷怨,就要饒恕他。這樣,你們在天上的父也會饒恕你們的過犯。 26 你們如果不饒恕別人,你們在天上的父也不會饒恕你們的過犯。[l]

質疑耶穌的權柄

27 他們又來到耶路撒冷。當耶穌在聖殿裡行走的時候,祭司長們、經文士們和長老們來到他那裡。 28 他們問:「你憑什麼權柄做這些事?誰給你這權柄,讓你做這些事?」

29 耶穌對他們說:「我要問你們一個問題,你們回答我,我就告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。 30 約翰的洗禮是來自天上,還是來自人間呢?你們回答我!」

31 他們就彼此討論,說:「如果我們說『是來自天上』,他就會問『那麼你們為什麼不相信他呢?』 32 可是我們能說『是來自人間』嗎?」原來他們怕民眾,因為大家都認為約翰的確是先知。 33 於是他們回答耶穌,說:「我們不知道。」

耶穌就對他們說:「我也不告訴你們我憑什麼權柄做這些事。」

Jesús en Jerusalén (11—13)

La entrada en Jerusalén (Mt 21,1-11; Lc 19,28-40; Jn 12,12-19)

11 Cerca ya de Jerusalén, al llegar a Betfagé y Betania, al pie del monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió a dos de sus discípulos con este encargo:

— Vayan a la aldea que tienen ahí enfrente, y nada más entrar encontrarán un pollino atado, sobre el cual nunca ha montado nadie. Desátenlo y tráiganmelo. Y si alguien les pregunta por qué hacen eso, contéstenle que el Señor lo necesita y que en seguida lo devolverá.

Los discípulos fueron y encontraron un pollino atado junto a una puerta, en la calle; y lo desataron. Algunos de los que estaban allí les dijeron:

— ¿Por qué desatan al pollino?

Ellos contestaron lo que Jesús les había dicho, y les dejaron que se lo llevaran. Trajeron el pollino a donde estaba Jesús, colocaron encima sus mantos y Jesús montó sobre él. Muchos alfombraban con sus mantos el camino, mientras otros llevaban ramas cortadas en el campo. Y los que iban delante y los que iban detrás gritaban:

¡Viva ! ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor! 10 ¡Bendito el reino que viene, el reino de nuestro padre David! ¡ Gloria al Dios Altísimo!

11 Cuando Jesús entró en Jerusalén, se dirigió al Templo. Después de echar una ojeada por todas partes, como ya estaba anocheciendo, se fue a Betania acompañado de los doce apóstoles.

La higuera sin fruto (Mt 21,18-19)

12 Al día siguiente, cuando salieron de Betania, Jesús sintió hambre. 13 Al ver de lejos una higuera muy frondosa, se acercó a ella a ver si tenía fruto; pero encontró únicamente hojas, porque aún no era el tiempo de los higos. 14 Entonces Jesús exclamó de forma que sus discípulos lo oyeran:

— ¡Que nunca jamás coma nadie fruto de ti!

Los comerciantes expulsados del Templo (Mt 21,12-17; Lc 19,45-48; Jn 2,13-22)

15 Llegaron a Jerusalén y, entrando en el Templo, Jesús se puso a expulsar a los que allí estaban vendiendo y comprando. Volcó las mesas de los cambistas de moneda y los puestos de los vendedores de palomas, 16 y no permitía que nadie anduviera por el Templo llevando objetos de un lado a otro. 17 Y los instruía increpándolos:

— ¿Acaso no dicen las Escrituras que mi casa ha de ser casa de oración para todas las naciones? Pero ustedes la han convertido en una cueva de ladrones.

18 Oyeron estas palabras los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley, y comenzaron a buscar la manera de matar a Jesús. Aunque le tenían miedo, porque toda la gente estaba pendiente de su enseñanza. 19 Al llegar la noche, Jesús y sus discípulos salieron de la ciudad.

La higuera maldecida aparece sin fruto (Mt 21,20-22)

20 Cuando a la mañana siguiente pasaron junto a la higuera, vieron que se había secado hasta la raíz. 21 Entonces Pedro, recordando lo sucedido, dijo a Jesús:

— Maestro, mira: la higuera que maldijiste se ha secado.

22 Jesús le contestó:

— Tengan fe en Dios. 23 Les aseguro que si alguien dice a ese monte que se quite de ahí y se arroje al mar, y lo dice sin vacilar, creyendo de todo corazón que va a realizarse lo que pide, lo obtendrá. 24 Por eso les digo que obtendran todo lo que pidan en oración, si tienen fe en que van a recibirlo. 25 Y cuando estén orando, si tienen algo contra alguien, perdónenselo, para que también el Padre que está en los cielos les perdone el mal que ustedes hacen. 26 [Pero, si ustedes no perdonan, tampoco el Padre les perdonará el mal que ustedes hacen].

Cuestionan la autoridad de Jesús (Mt 21,23-27; Lc 20,1-8)

27 Cuando llegaron de nuevo a Jerusalén, mientras Jesús estaba paseando por el Templo, se acercaron a él los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros de la ley y los ancianos, 28 y le preguntaron:

— ¿Con qué derecho haces tú todo eso? ¿Quién te ha autorizado a hacer lo que estás haciendo?

29 Jesús les contestó:

— Yo también voy a preguntarles una cosa. Respóndanme y les diré con qué derecho hago todo esto. 30 ¿De quién recibió Juan el encargo de bautizar: de Dios o de los hombres? ¡Respóndanme!

31 Ellos se pusieron a razonar entre sí: “Si contestamos que lo recibió de Dios, él dirá: ‘¿Por qué, pues, no le creyeron?’ 32 Pero ¿cómo vamos a decir que lo recibió de los hombres?”. Y es que temían la reacción del pueblo, porque todos tenían a Juan por profeta. 33 Así que respondieron:

— No lo sabemos.

Entonces Jesús les replicó:

— Pues tampoco yo les diré con qué derecho hago todo esto.

The Triumphal Entry(A)

11 Now (B)when they drew near Jerusalem, to [a]Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples; and He said to them, “Go into the village opposite you; and as soon as you have entered it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has sat. Loose it and bring it. And if anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”

So they went their way, and found [b]the colt tied by the door outside on the street, and they loosed it. But some of those who stood there said to them, “What are you doing, loosing the colt?”

And they spoke to them just as Jesus had commanded. So they let them go. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their clothes on it, and He sat on it. (C)And many spread their clothes on the road, and others cut down leafy branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:

“Hosanna!
(D)‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father David
That comes [c]in the name of the Lord!
(E)Hosanna in the highest!”

11 (F)And Jesus went into Jerusalem and into the temple. So when He had looked around at all things, as the hour was already late, He went out to Bethany with the twelve.

The Fig Tree Withered(G)

12 (H)Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 (I)And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again.”

And His disciples heard it.

Jesus Cleanses the Temple(J)

15 (K)So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold (L)doves. 16 And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. 17 Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, (M)‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a (N)‘den of thieves.’

18 And (O)the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because (P)all the people were astonished at His teaching. 19 When evening had come, He went out of the city.

The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree(Q)

20 (R)Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For (S)assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, (T)whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Forgiveness and Prayer(U)

25 “And whenever you stand praying, (V)if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 [d]But (W)if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Jesus’ Authority Questioned(X)

27 Then they came again to Jerusalem. (Y)And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him. 28 And they said to Him, “By what (Z)authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority to do these things?”

29 But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one question; then answer Me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things: 30 The (AA)baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? Answer Me.”

31 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ 32 But if we say, ‘From men’ ”—they feared the people, for (AB)all counted John to have been a prophet indeed. 33 So they answered and said to Jesus, “We do not know.”

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

And they said unto them, as Jesus had commanded them: So they let them go.

And many spread their garments in the way: others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna: [b]blessed be he that cometh in the Name of the Lord.

10 [c]Blessed be the kingdom that cometh in the Name of the Lord of our father David: Hosanna, O thou which art in the highest heavens.

23 For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken away, and cast into the sea, and shall not waver in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith, shall come to pass, whatsoever he saith, shall be done to him.

24 (H)Therefore I say unto you, Whatsoever ye desire when ye pray, believe that [j]ye shall have it, and it shall be done unto you.

25 (I)But when [k]ye shall stand, and pray, forgive, if ye have anything against any man, that your Father also which is in heaven, may forgive you your trespasses.

26 For if you will not forgive, your Father which is in heaven, will not pardon you your trespasses.

27 (J)[l]Then they came again to Jerusalem: and as he walked in the Temple, there came to him the high Priests, and the Scribes, and the Elders,

28 And said unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority, that thou shouldest do these things?

29 Then Jesus answered, and said unto them, I will also ask you a certain thing, and answer ye me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

30 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.

31 And they thought with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

32 [m]But if we say, Of men, we fear the people: for all men counted John that he was a Prophet indeed.

33 Then they answered, and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answered, and said unto them, Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
