Questione sul divorzio
10 Partito di là, si recò nel territorio della Giudea e oltre il Giordano. La folla accorse di nuovo a lui e di nuovo egli l'ammaestrava, come era solito fare. 2 E avvicinatisi dei farisei, per metterlo alla prova, gli domandarono: «E' lecito ad un marito ripudiare la propria moglie?». 3 Ma egli rispose loro: «Che cosa vi ha ordinato Mosè?». 4 Dissero: «Mosè ha permesso di scrivere un atto di ripudio e di rimandarla». 5 Gesù disse loro: «Per la durezza del vostro cuore egli scrisse per voi questa norma. 6 Ma all'inizio della creazione Dio li creò maschio e femmina; 7 per questo l'uomo lascerà suo padre e sua madre e i due saranno una carne sola. 8 Sicché non sono più due, ma una sola carne. 9 L'uomo dunque non separi ciò che Dio ha congiunto». 10 Rientrati a casa, i discepoli lo interrogarono di nuovo su questo argomento. Ed egli disse: 11 «Chi ripudia la propria moglie e ne sposa un'altra, commette adulterio contro di lei; 12 se la donna ripudia il marito e ne sposa un altro, commette adulterio».
Gesù e i bambini
13 Gli presentavano dei bambini perché li accarezzasse, ma i discepoli li sgridavano. 14 Gesù, al vedere questo, s'indignò e disse loro: «Lasciate che i bambini vengano a me e non glielo impedite, perché a chi è come loro appartiene il regno di Dio. 15 In verità vi dico: Chi non accoglie il regno di Dio come un bambino, non entrerà in esso». 16 E prendendoli fra le braccia e ponendo le mani sopra di loro li benediceva.
L'uomo ricco
17 Mentre usciva per mettersi in viaggio, un tale gli corse incontro e, gettandosi in ginocchio davanti a lui, gli domandò: «Maestro buono, che cosa devo fare per avere la vita eterna?». 18 Gesù gli disse: «Perché mi chiami buono? Nessuno è buono, se non Dio solo. 19 Tu conosci i comandamenti: Non uccidere, non commettere adulterio, non rubare, non dire falsa testimonianza, non frodare, onora il padre e la madre».
20 Egli allora gli disse: «Maestro, tutte queste cose le ho osservate fin dalla mia giovinezza». 21 Allora Gesù, fissatolo, lo amò e gli disse: «Una cosa sola ti manca: và, vendi quello che hai e dàllo ai poveri e avrai un tesoro in cielo; poi vieni e seguimi». 22 Ma egli, rattristatosi per quelle parole, se ne andò afflitto, poiché aveva molti beni.
Il pericolo delle ricchezze
23 Gesù, volgendo lo sguardo attorno, disse ai suoi discepoli: «Quanto difficilmente coloro che hanno ricchezze entreranno nel regno di Dio!». 24 I discepoli rimasero stupefatti a queste sue parole; ma Gesù riprese: «Figlioli, com'è difficile entrare nel regno di Dio! 25 E' più facile che un cammello passi per la cruna di un ago, che un ricco entri nel regno di Dio». 26 Essi, ancora più sbigottiti, dicevano tra loro: «E chi mai si può salvare?». 27 Ma Gesù, guardandoli, disse: «Impossibile presso gli uomini, ma non presso Dio! Perché tutto è possibile presso Dio».
Ricompensa promessa alla rinuncia
28 Pietro allora gli disse: «Ecco, noi abbiamo lasciato tutto e ti abbiamo seguito». 29 Gesù gli rispose: «In verità vi dico: non c'è nessuno che abbia lasciato casa o fratelli o sorelle o madre o padre o figli o campi a causa mia e a causa del vangelo, 30 che non riceva gia al presente cento volte tanto in case e fratelli e sorelle e madri e figli e campi, insieme a persecuzioni, e nel futuro la vita eterna. 31 E molti dei primi saranno ultimi e gli ultimi i primi».
Terzo annunzio della passione
32 Mentre erano in viaggio per salire a Gerusalemme, Gesù camminava davanti a loro ed essi erano stupiti; coloro che venivano dietro erano pieni di timore. Prendendo di nuovo in disparte i Dodici, cominciò a dir loro quello che gli sarebbe accaduto: 33 «Ecco, noi saliamo a Gerusalemme e il Figlio dell'uomo sarà consegnato ai sommi sacerdoti e agli scribi: lo condanneranno a morte, lo consegneranno ai pagani, 34 lo scherniranno, gli sputeranno addosso, lo flagelleranno e lo uccideranno; ma dopo tre giorni risusciterà».
La domanda dei figli di Zebedeo
35 E gli si avvicinarono Giacomo e Giovanni, i figli di Zebedèo, dicendogli: «Maestro, noi vogliamo che tu ci faccia quello che ti chiederemo». 36 Egli disse loro: «Cosa volete che io faccia per voi?». Gli risposero: 37 «Concedici di sedere nella tua gloria uno alla tua destra e uno alla tua sinistra». 38 Gesù disse loro: «Voi non sapete ciò che domandate. Potete bere il calice che io bevo, o ricevere il battesimo con cui io sono battezzato?». Gli risposero: «Lo possiamo». 39 E Gesù disse: «Il calice che io bevo anche voi lo berrete, e il battesimo che io ricevo anche voi lo riceverete. 40 Ma sedere alla mia destra o alla mia sinistra non sta a me concederlo; è per coloro per i quali è stato preparato».
I capi devono servire
41 All'udire questo, gli altri dieci si sdegnarono con Giacomo e Giovanni. 42 Allora Gesù, chiamatili a sé, disse loro: «Voi sapete che coloro che sono ritenuti capi delle nazioni le dominano, e i loro grandi esercitano su di esse il potere. 43 Fra voi però non è così; ma chi vuol essere grande tra voi si farà vostro servitore, 44 e chi vuol essere il primo tra voi sarà il servo di tutti. 45 Il Figlio dell'uomo infatti non è venuto per essere servito, ma per servire e dare la propria vita in riscatto per molti».
Il cieco all'uscita di Gerico
46 E giunsero a Gerico. E mentre partiva da Gerico insieme ai discepoli e a molta folla, il figlio di Timèo, Bartimèo, cieco, sedeva lungo la strada a mendicare. 47 Costui, al sentire che c'era Gesù Nazareno, cominciò a gridare e a dire: «Figlio di Davide, Gesù, abbi pietà di me!». 48 Molti lo sgridavano per farlo tacere, ma egli gridava più forte: «Figlio di Davide, abbi pietà di me!».
49 Allora Gesù si fermò e disse: «Chiamatelo!». E chiamarono il cieco dicendogli: «Coraggio! Alzati, ti chiama!». 50 Egli, gettato via il mantello, balzò in piedi e venne da Gesù. 51 Allora Gesù gli disse: «Che vuoi che io ti faccia?». E il cieco a lui: «Rabbunì, che io riabbia la vista!». 52 E Gesù gli disse: «Và, la tua fede ti ha salvato». E subito riacquistò la vista e prese a seguirlo per la strada.

Jesús en Judea
10 (A)Levantándose de allí, Jesús se fue* a la región de Judea y al otro lado del Jordán; y se reunieron* de nuevo las multitudes junto a Él, y una vez más, como acostumbraba, les enseñaba(B).
Enseñanza de Jesús sobre el divorcio
2 Y se le acercaron algunos fariseos, y para ponerle[a] a prueba, le preguntaban si era lícito a un hombre divorciarse de[b] su mujer. 3 Y respondiendo Él, les dijo: ¿Qué os mandó Moisés? 4 Y ellos dijeron: Moisés permitió al hombre escribir carta de divorcio y repudiarla(C). 5 Pero Jesús les dijo: Por la dureza de vuestro corazón os escribió este mandamiento(D). 6 Pero desde el principio de la creación(E), Dios los hizo varón y hembra(F). 7 Por esta razón el hombre dejará a su padre y a su madre[c](G), 8 y los dos serán una sola carne(H); por consiguiente, ya no son dos, sino una sola carne. 9 Por tanto, lo que Dios ha unido, ningún hombre lo separe. 10 Y ya en la casa, los discípulos volvieron a preguntarle sobre esto. 11 Y Él les dijo*: Cualquiera que se divorcie de[d] su mujer y se case con otra, comete adulterio contra ella(I); 12 y si ella se divorcia de[e] su marido(J) y se casa con otro, comete adulterio.
Jesús bendice a los niños
13 (K)Y le traían niños para que los tocara; y los discípulos los reprendieron. 14 Pero cuando Jesús vio esto, se indignó y les dijo: Dejad que los niños vengan a mí; no se lo impidáis, porque de los que son como estos[f] es el reino de Dios(L). 15 En verdad os digo: el que no reciba el reino de Dios como un niño, no entrará en él(M). 16 Y tomándolos en sus brazos(N), los bendecía, poniendo las manos sobre ellos.
El joven rico
17 (O)Cuando salía para seguir su camino, vino uno corriendo, y arrodillándose delante de Él(P), le preguntó[g]: Maestro bueno, ¿qué haré para heredar la vida eterna(Q)? 18 Y Jesús le dijo: ¿Por qué me llamas bueno? Nadie es bueno, sino solo uno, Dios. 19 Tú sabes los mandamientos: «No mates, no cometas adulterio, no hurtes, no des falso testimonio, no defraudes, honra a tu padre y a tu madre(R)». 20 Y él le dijo: Maestro, todo esto lo he guardado(S) desde mi juventud. 21 Jesús, mirándolo, lo amó y le dijo: Una cosa te falta: ve y vende cuanto tienes y da a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo(T); y ven, sígueme. 22 Pero él, afligido por estas palabras, se fue triste, porque era dueño de muchos bienes.
Peligro de las riquezas
23 Jesús, mirando en derredor, dijo* a sus discípulos: ¡Qué difícil será para los que tienen riquezas entrar en el reino de Dios(U)! 24 Y los discípulos se asombraron(V) de sus palabras. Pero Jesús respondiendo de nuevo, les dijo*: Hijos, ¡qué difícil es entrar en el reino de Dios[h]! 25 Es más fácil que un camello pase por el ojo de una[i] aguja, que el que un rico entre en el reino de Dios(W). 26 Ellos se asombraron aún más, diciendo entre sí[j]: ¿Y quién podrá salvarse? 27 Mirándolos Jesús, dijo*: Para los hombres es imposible, pero no para Dios, porque todas las cosas son posibles para Dios(X). 28 Entonces Pedro comenzó a decirle: He aquí, nosotros lo hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido(Y). 29 Jesús dijo: En verdad os digo: No hay nadie que haya dejado casa, o hermanos, o hermanas, o madre, o padre, o hijos o tierras por causa de mí y por causa del evangelio(Z), 30 que no reciba cien veces más ahora en este tiempo: casas, y hermanos, y hermanas, y madres, e hijos, y tierras junto con persecuciones; y en el siglo venidero(AA), la vida eterna. 31 Pero muchos primeros serán últimos, y los últimos, primeros(AB).
Jesús anuncia su muerte por tercera vez
32 (AC)E iban por el camino subiendo a Jerusalén, y Jesús iba delante de ellos; y estaban perplejos(AD), y los que le seguían tenían miedo. Y tomando aparte de nuevo a los doce, comenzó a decirles lo que le iba a suceder: 33 He aquí, subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del Hombre(AE) será entregado a los principales sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte y le entregarán a los gentiles. 34 Y se burlarán de Él y le escupirán(AF), le azotarán y le matarán, y tres días después resucitará.
Petición de Jacobo y Juan
35 (AG)Y se le acercaron* Jacobo[k] y Juan, los dos hijos de Zebedeo, diciéndole: Maestro, queremos que hagas por nosotros lo que te pidamos. 36 Y Él les dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros? 37 Ellos le dijeron: Concédenos[l] que en tu gloria(AH) nos sentemos uno a tu derecha y el otro a tu izquierda. 38 Pero Jesús les dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís. ¿Podéis beber la copa que yo bebo(AI), o ser bautizados con el bautismo con que soy bautizado(AJ)? 39 Y ellos le dijeron: Podemos. Y Jesús les dijo: La copa que yo bebo, beberéis; y seréis bautizados con el bautismo con que yo soy bautizado(AK), 40 pero el que os sentéis a mi derecha o a mi izquierda, no es mío el concederlo[m], sino que es para quienes ha sido preparado(AL). 41 Al oír esto, los diez comenzaron a indignarse contra Jacobo[n] y Juan. 42 (AM)Y llamándolos junto a sí, Jesús les dijo*: Sabéis que los que son reconocidos como gobernantes de los gentiles se enseñorean de ellos, y que sus grandes ejercen autoridad sobre ellos. 43 Pero entre vosotros no es así, sino que cualquiera de vosotros que desee llegar a ser grande será vuestro servidor(AN), 44 y cualquiera de vosotros que desee ser el primero será siervo de todos. 45 Porque ni aun el Hijo del Hombre vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida[o] en rescate por muchos(AO).
El ciego Bartimeo es sanado
46 (AP)Entonces llegaron* a Jericó. Y cuando salía de Jericó con sus discípulos y una gran multitud, un mendigo ciego llamado Bartimeo, el hijo de Timeo, estaba sentado junto al camino(AQ). 47 Y cuando oyó que era Jesús el Nazareno(AR), comenzó a gritar y a decir: ¡Jesús, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí(AS)! 48 Y muchos lo reprendían para que se callara, pero él gritaba mucho más: ¡Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí(AT)! 49 Y Jesús se detuvo y dijo: Llamadle. Y llamaron* al ciego, diciéndole: ¡Anímate(AU)! Levántate, que te llama. 50 Y arrojando su manto, se levantó de un salto y fue a Jesús. 51 Y dirigiéndose a él[p], Jesús le dijo: ¿Qué deseas que haga por ti? Y el ciego le respondió: Raboní[q](AV), que recobre la vista. 52 Y Jesús le dijo: Vete, tu fe te ha sanado[r](AW). Y al instante recobró la vista, y le seguía por el camino.

10 And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.
2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
34 And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
36 And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
40 But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
