安静无声。”

使这地困苦人衰败的，
当听这话！
5 你们说：“初一几时过去，
我们好卖粮；
安息日几时过去，
我们好摆开谷物；
我们要把伊法变小，
把舍客勒变大，

3 (A)The songs of the temple[a] (B)shall become wailings[b] in that day,”
declares the Lord God.
(C)“So many dead bodies!”
“They are thrown everywhere!”
(D)“Silence!”
4 Hear this, (E)you who trample on the needy
and bring the poor of the land to an end,
5 saying, “When will (F)the new moon be over,
that we may sell grain?
And (G)the Sabbath,
that we may offer wheat for sale,
that we may make (H)the ephah small and the shekel[c] great
and deal deceitfully with false balances,

3 On that day, the joyous songs sung in the temple will turn to wailing and crying,
and dead bodies will be piled up everywhere, scattered here, scattered there.
Silence!
Says the Eternal Lord.
4 Listen to this, you who trample on the needy
and bring the poor to ruin,
5 Who ask, “When will the new moon festival be done
so we can sell our grain?
And when will the Sabbath end
so we can sell our wheat?
Then we can tamper with our scales
and make the bushel measure smaller
And the counterweight heavier to cheat our customers.
