1 犹大王乌西雅、约阿施的儿子以色列王耶罗波安执政期间，大地震前两年，提哥亚的牧人阿摩司看到了关于以色列的异象。以下是阿摩司的话。
2 他说：
“耶和华在锡安[a]怒吼，
在耶路撒冷呼喊。
牧人的草场枯干，
迦密山顶枯黄。”
对亚兰的审判
3 耶和华说：
“大马士革人三番四次地犯罪，
我必不收回对他们的惩罚，
因为他们用打粮食的铁器蹂躏基列。
4 所以我要降火在哈薛王家，
烧毁便·哈达王的城堡。
5 我要折断大马士革城的门闩，
铲除亚文平原[b]的居民和伯·伊甸的掌权者，
使亚兰人被掳到吉珥[c]。
这是耶和华说的。”
对非利士的审判
6 耶和华说：
“迦萨人三番四次地犯罪，
我必不收回对他们的惩罚，
因为他们把被掳之人全都带走，
卖到以东做奴隶。
7 所以，我要降火在迦萨的城墙上，
烧毁它的城堡。
8 我要铲除亚实突的居民和亚实基伦的掌权者，
伸手攻击以革伦，
剩下的非利士人都要灭亡。

对泰尔的审判
9 耶和华说：
“泰尔人三番四次地犯罪，
我必不收回对他们的惩罚，
因为他们背弃弟兄之盟，

10 所以，我要降火在泰尔的城墙上，
烧毁它的城堡。”
对以东的审判
11 耶和华说：
“以东人三番四次地犯罪，
我必不收回对他们的惩罚，
因为他们拔刀追赶自己的弟兄，
没有半点怜悯之心；
他们怒气不息，永怀愤怒。
12 所以，我要降火在提幔，
烧毁波斯拉的城堡。”
对亚扪的审判
13 耶和华说：
“亚扪人三番四次地犯罪，
我必不收回对他们的惩罚，
因为他们为了扩张领土，
竟剖开基列孕妇的肚腹。
14 所以，我要在战争的吶喊声中，
在暴风雨吹袭的时候，
降火在拉巴的城墙上，
烧毁它的城堡。
15 他们的君王和首领都要被掳。

1 Paroles d'Amos, l'un des bergers de Tekoa, visions qu'il eut sur Israël, au temps d'Ozias, roi de Juda, et au temps de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d'Israël, deux ans avant le tremblement de terre.
2 Il dit: De Sion l'Éternel rugit, De Jérusalem il fait entendre sa voix. Les pâturages des bergers sont dans le deuil, Et le sommet du Carmel est desséché.
3 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Damas, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont foulé Galaad sous des traîneaux de fer.
4 J'enverrai le feu dans la maison de Hazaël, Et il dévorera les palais de Ben Hadad.
5 Je briserai les verrous de Damas, J'exterminerai de Bikath Aven les habitants, Et de Beth Éden celui qui tient le sceptre; Et le peuple de Syrie sera mené captif à Kir, dit l'Éternel.
6 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Gaza, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont fait une foule de captifs pour les livrer à Édom.
7 J'enverrai le feu dans les murs de Gaza, Et il en dévorera les palais.
8 J'exterminerai d'Asdod les habitants, Et d'Askalon celui qui tient le sceptre; Je tournerai ma main contre Ékron, Et le reste des Philistins périra, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
9 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Tyr, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont livré à Édom une foule de captifs, Sans se souvenir de l'alliance fraternelle.
10 J'enverrai le feu dans les murs de Tyr, Et il en dévorera les palais.
11 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: A cause de trois crimes d'Édom, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'il a poursuivi ses frères avec l'épée, En étouffant sa compassion, Parce que sa colère déchire toujours, Et qu'il garde éternellement sa fureur.
12 J'enverrai le feu dans Théman, Et il dévorera les palais de Botsra.
13 Ainsi parle l'Éternel: A cause de trois crimes des enfants d'Ammon, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu'ils ont fendu le ventre des femmes enceintes de Galaad, Afin d'agrandir leur territoire.
14 J'allumerai le feu dans les murs de Rabba, Et il en dévorera les palais, Au milieu des cris de guerre au jour du combat, Au milieu de l'ouragan au jour de la tempête;
15 Et leur roi s'en ira en captivité, Lui, et ses chefs avec lui, dit l'Éternel.

Judgment on Neighbor Nations
1 The words of Amos, who was among the (A)sheepherders from (B)Tekoa, which he saw in visions concerning Israel in the days of (C)Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of (D)Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the (E)earthquake.
2 And he said,
“The (F)Lord roars from Zion,
And from Jerusalem He utters His voice;
And the shepherds’ (G)pasture grounds mourn,
And the [a](H)summit of Carmel dries up.”
3 This is what the Lord says:
“For (I)three offenses of (J)Damascus, and for four,
I will not [b]revoke its punishment,
Because they threshed Gilead with iron sledges.
4 So I will send fire upon the house of Hazael,
And it will consume the citadels of (K)Ben-hadad.
5 I will also (L)break the gate bar of Damascus,
And eliminate every inhabitant from the [c]Valley of Aven,
As well as him who holds the scepter, from Beth-eden;
So the people of Aram will be exiled to (M)Kir,”
Says the Lord.
6 This is what the Lord says:
“For three offenses of (N)Gaza, and for four,
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they led into exile an entire population
To (O)turn them over to Edom.
7 So I will send fire on the wall of Gaza
And it will consume her citadels.
8 I will also eliminate every inhabitant from (P)Ashdod,
As well as him who holds the scepter, from (Q)Ashkelon;
And I will direct My [d]power against Ekron,
And the remnant of the (R)Philistines will perish,”
Says the Lord [e]God.
9 This is what the Lord says:
“For three offenses of (S)Tyre, and for four,
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they turned an entire population over to Edom
And did not remember the covenant of [f](T)brotherhood.
10 So I will (U)send fire on the wall of Tyre,
And it will consume her citadels.”
11 This is what the Lord says:
“For three offenses of (V)Edom, and for four,
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because he (W)pursued his brother with the sword
And stifled his compassion;
His anger also (X)tore continually,
And he maintained his fury forever.
12 So I will send fire upon (Y)Teman
And it will consume the citadels of Bozrah.”
13 This is what the Lord says:
“For three offenses of the sons of (Z)Ammon, and for four,
I will not revoke its punishment,
Because they (AA)ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead
In order to (AB)enlarge their borders.
14 So I will kindle a fire on the wall of (AC)Rabbah,
And it will consume her citadels
Amid [g](AD)war cries on the day of battle,
And amid a (AE)storm on the day of tempest.
15 Their (AF)king will go into exile,
He and his princes together,” says the Lord.
