有關尼尼微的預言
1 以下是對尼尼微的宣判，就是伊勒歌斯人那鴻的異象錄。
嫉惡和施行報復的 神
2 耶和華是嫉惡和施行報復的 神；
耶和華施行報復，並且滿懷烈怒；
耶和華向他的對頭施行報復，
向他的仇敵懷怒。
3 耶和華不輕易發怒，可是大有能力；
他絕不以有罪的為無罪。
耶和華乘著狂風暴雨而來，
雲彩是他腳下的塵土。
4 他一斥責海，海就乾了；
他使一切江河枯乾。
巴珊和迦密的樹林枯槁，
黎巴嫩的花卉凋殘。
5 大山在他面前震動，
小山也都融化；
大地在他面前廢去，
世界和所有住在世上的，也都這樣。
6 在他盛怒之下，誰能站得住呢？
他的烈怒誰能受得了呢？
他的忿怒像火一般噴出來，
磐石在他面前都崩裂了。
7 耶和華是良善的；
在患難的時候，他作人的避難所；
信靠他的人，他都認識。
8 但他必用氾濫的洪水，
盡行毀滅尼尼微之地，
把他的仇敵趕入黑暗之中。
警告尼尼微
9 尼尼微人哪，
你們對耶和華還有甚麼企圖？
他必盡行毀滅；
患難必不再次來臨。
10 他們像纏結著的荊棘，
像喝醉了的酒徒，
又像枯乾的禾稭，全都被吞滅了。
11 有人從你那裡出來，
就是籌劃奸惡的人，
圖謀惡事攻擊耶和華。
安慰猶大
12 耶和華這樣說：
尼尼微人雖然裝備完整，
人數眾多，
他們仍必被剪除，
這樣就完了。
我既然使你受過苦，
就一定不再叫你受苦了。
13 猶大啊！
現在我必粉碎他在你身上的軛，
打斷你的鎖鍊。
14 尼尼微啊！
耶和華已經向你下了命令：
你的名字必不再傳於後世；
我必從你的神廟中，
除掉雕刻和鑄造的偶像；
我必為你預備墳墓，
因為你沒有存在的價值。
15 看哪！那傳報佳音、宣告和平之人的腳，
已經站在山上，說：
猶大啊！守你的節期，
還你的願吧！
因為那奸惡的人永不會再從你中間經過；

1 Profetia om Nineve, boken med elkositen Nahums syn.
Herrens vrede över Nineve
2 Herren är en nitälskande Gud och en hämnare.
Herren tar hämnd och vredgas,
Herren tar hämnd på sina ovänner,
han har vrede i förvar åt sina fiender.
3 Herren är sen till vrede
men stor i kraft,
han låter ingen gå ostraffad.
Herren har sin väg i storm och oväder,
och molnen är dammet under hans fötter.
4 Han straffar havet och låter det torka ut,
alla floder låter han sina.
Då tynar Basan och Karmel bort
och Libanons grönska vissnar.
5 Bergen darrar för honom
och höjderna smälter ner.
Jorden bävar för hans ansikte,
världen och alla som bor där.
6 Vem kan bestå inför hans förbittring,
vem kan uthärda hans vredes glöd?
Hans vrede brinner som eld
och klipporna rämnar inför honom.
7 God är Herren,
en tillflykt på nödens dag,
han känner dem som flyr till honom.
8 Men med en störtflod förintar han
platsen där Nineve står,
och mörker förföljer hans fiender.
9 Vad ni än tänker ut mot Herren
skall han komma med fullständig ödeläggelse.
Nöden skall inte komma två gånger.
10 Om de än är hopslingrade som törnsnår
och druckna av sitt drickande,
skall de alla förtäras som torrt gräs.
11 Från dig har en man gått ut,
en som tänker ut ont mot Herren,
en rådgivare i ondska.
Guds nåd över Juda
12 Så säger Herren:
"Hur starka och många de än är,
skall de ändå mejas ner och försvinna.
Jag har plågat dig,
men skall inte plåga dig mer.
13 Nu skall jag bryta sönder hans ok över dig,
dina band skall jag slita av."
14 Men om dig, Nineve, har Herren befallt:
"Det skall inte mer finnas några efterkommande med ditt namn.
Ur dina gudars hus skall jag utrota alla bilder,
både skurna och gjutna.
Jag skall göra i ordning en grav åt dig,
ty du är ingenting värd."
15 Se, över bergen kommer han
som frambär gott budskap,
han som förkunnar frid.
Fira dina högtider, Juda,
infria dina löften.
Ty den onde skall inte mer dra fram genom dig,
han är helt tillintetgjord.

1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
2 God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
9 What do ye imagine against the Lord? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the Lord, a wicked counsellor.
12 Thus saith the Lord; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
14 And the Lord hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
