Ruth Meets Boaz in the Grain Field

Now Naomi had a relative(A) on her husband’s side, a man of standing(B) from the clan of Elimelek,(C) whose name was Boaz.(D)

And Ruth the Moabite(E) said to Naomi, “Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain(F) behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.(G)

Naomi said to her, “Go ahead, my daughter.” So she went out, entered a field and began to glean behind the harvesters.(H) As it turned out, she was working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelek.(I)

Ruth Meets Boaz

There was a (A)relative of Naomi’s husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of (B)Elimelech. His name was (C)Boaz. So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the (D)field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.”

And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”

Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.

Ru-tơ Gặp Bô-a

Lúc ấy Na-ô-mi có một người bà con bên chồng, một người khá giàu có, thuộc dòng họ Ê-li-mê-léc, tên là Bô-a.

Ru-tơ người Mô-áp thưa với Na-ô-mi, “Xin mẹ cho con ra đồng mót lúa. Con sẽ đi sau người nào thấy con được ơn trước mặt người ấy.”

Na-ô-mi nói với nàng, “Hãy đi đi, con gái của mẹ.”

Vậy Ru-tơ đi. Nàng theo sau các thợ gặt và mót lúa. Không ngờ nàng đến nhằm cánh đồng của Bô-a, người bà con bên chồng trong dòng họ của Ê-li-mê-léc.
