安息日的主
6 有一次在安息日[a]，耶稣从麦田经过，他的门徒们摘下麦穗，用手搓着吃。 2 有一些法利赛人说：“你们为什么做安息日不可以做[b]的事呢？”
3 耶稣回答他们，说：“大卫和那些与他在一起的人饥饿时所做的事，你们难道这个也没有读过吗？ 4 他怎样进了神的殿[c]，拿了陈设饼吃，还分给与他在一起的人呢？这饼除了祭司一个人之外，谁都不可以吃。” 5 于是耶稣对他们说：“人子是安息日的主。”
治愈手萎缩的人
6 在另一个安息日的时候，耶稣进了会堂教导人。那里有一个人，右手枯萎了。 7 经文士们和法利赛人就密切注意耶稣会不会在安息日使人痊愈，为要找把柄[d]控告他。 8 耶稣知道他们的意念，就对那手枯萎的人说：“起来，站到中间来！”那人就起来，站着。 9 耶稣对他们说：“我问你们[e]，在安息日是否可以行善或作恶，救命或害命？” 10 他环视周围所有的人，然后对那个人[f]说：“伸出你的手！”那个人一伸，他的手就复原了[g]。 11 他们就满腔怒火[h]，彼此商量到底怎么对付耶稣。

论祸
24 “不过富有的人，你们有祸了，
因为你们已经得到了你们的安慰。

因为你们将要悲伤、哭泣。
26 当所有的人都说你们好的时候，
你们有祸了，

爱敌人

不要评断
37 “不要评断人，你们就绝不被评断；不要定人的罪，你们就绝不被定罪；要饶恕人，你们就会被饶恕。 38 你们要给与，就会被赐予，而且用十足的量器，连摇带按、满满当当地倒在你们怀里，因为，你们用什么量器[t]来衡量，也会同样地被衡量。”
39 耶稣又对他们讲了一个比喻：“难道瞎子能给瞎子领路吗？两个人不都会掉进坑里吗？ 40 学生不高于他的老师，但所有学成的人，将会像他的老师一样。
41 “你为什么看见你弟兄眼里的木屑，却不想自己眼里的梁木呢？ 42 你看不见自己眼里的梁木，怎么能对你弟兄说‘弟兄啊，让我除掉你眼里的木屑’呢？你这伪善的人！先除掉你自己眼里的梁木，然后你才能看得清楚，好除掉你弟兄眼里的木屑。
树与果
43 “好树不结坏果子，坏[u]树也不结好果子。 44 这样，每一棵树都是凭着它的果子被认出来。人不从蒺藜中收无花果，也不从荆棘上摘葡萄。 45 好人从他心里所存的善，发出善来；坏人从他心里所存的[v]恶，发出恶来；因为人心里所充满的，口里就说出来。
两种根基
46 “你们为什么称呼我‘主啊，主啊！’却不遵行我所说的话呢？ 47 我要指示你们，凡是到我这里来听了我的话而实行的人是什么样的人： 48 他好比一个人建造房子，深深地挖掘，把根基立在磐石上。洪水泛滥，急流冲击那房子，也不能使它摇动，因为建造得稳固[w][x]。 49 然而，那听见而不实行的人，就好比一个人把房子建在地面上，没有根基。急流一冲，立刻倒塌了，并且那房子毁坏得非常厉害。”

Activities on the Sabbath
6 One Sabbath, as Jesus was going through the wheat fields, his disciples were picking the heads of wheat, rubbing them in their hands, and eating them. 2 Some Pharisees said, “Why are you breaking the Sabbath law?”
3 Jesus replied, “Haven’t you read what David and his companions did when they were hungry? 4 He broke the Law by going into God’s house and eating the bread of the presence, which only the priests can eat. He also gave some of the bread to his companions.” 5 Then he said to them, “The Human One[a] is Lord of the Sabbath.”
6 On another Sabbath, Jesus entered a synagogue to teach. A man was there whose right hand was withered. 7 The legal experts and the Pharisees were watching him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. They were looking for a reason to bring charges against him. 8 Jesus knew their thoughts, so he said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” He got up and stood there. 9 Jesus said to the legal experts and Pharisees, “Here’s a question for you: Is it legal on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” 10 Looking around at them all, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he did and his hand was made healthy. 11 They were furious and began talking with each other about what to do to Jesus.
Jesus chooses apostles
12 During that time, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night long. 13 At daybreak, he called together his disciples. He chose twelve of them whom he called apostles: 14 Simon, whom he named Peter; his brother Andrew; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew; 15 Matthew; Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called a zealot; 16 Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Jesus’ popularity increases
17 Jesus came down from the mountain with them and stood on a large area of level ground. A great company of his disciples and a huge crowd of people from all around Judea and Jerusalem and the area around Tyre and Sidon joined him there. 18 They came to hear him and to be healed from their diseases, and those bothered by unclean spirits were healed. 19 The whole crowd wanted to touch him, because power was going out from him and he was healing everyone.
Happy people and doomed people
20 Jesus raised his eyes to his disciples and said:
“Happy are you who are poor,
because God’s kingdom is yours.
21 Happy are you who hunger now,
because you will be satisfied.
Happy are you who weep now,
because you will laugh.
22 Happy are you when people hate you, reject you, insult you, and condemn your name as evil because of the Human One.[b] 23 Rejoice when that happens! Leap for joy because you have a great reward in heaven. Their ancestors did the same things to the prophets.
24 But how terrible for you who are rich,
because you have already received your comfort.
25 How terrible for you who have plenty now,
because you will be hungry.
How terrible for you who laugh now,
because you will mourn and weep.
26 How terrible for you when all speak well of you.
Their ancestors did the same things to the false prophets.
Behaving as God’s children
27 “But I say to you who are willing to hear: Love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. 28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If someone slaps you on the cheek, offer the other one as well. If someone takes your coat, don’t withhold your shirt either. 30 Give to everyone who asks and don’t demand your things back from those who take them. 31 Treat people in the same way that you want them to treat you.
32 “If you love those who love you, why should you be commended? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 If you do good to those who do good to you, why should you be commended? Even sinners do that. 34 If you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, why should you be commended? Even sinners lend to sinners expecting to be paid back in full. 35 Instead, love your enemies, do good, and lend expecting nothing in return. If you do, you will have a great reward. You will be acting the way children of the Most High act, for he is kind to ungrateful and wicked people. 36 Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.
37 “Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good portion—packed down, firmly shaken, and overflowing—will fall into your lap. The portion you give will determine the portion you receive in return.”
Avoiding self-deception
39 Jesus also told them a riddle. “A blind person can’t lead another blind person, right? Won’t they both fall into a ditch? 40 Disciples aren’t greater than their teacher, but whoever is fully prepared will be like their teacher. 41 Why do you see the splinter in your brother’s or sister’s eye but don’t notice the log in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother or sister, ‘Brother, Sister, let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ when you don’t see the log in your own eye? You deceive yourselves! First take the log out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s or sister’s eye.
43 “A good tree doesn’t produce bad fruit, nor does a bad tree produce good fruit. 44 Each tree is known by its own fruit. People don’t gather figs from thorny plants, nor do they pick grapes from prickly bushes. 45 A good person produces good from the good treasury of the inner self, while an evil person produces evil from the evil treasury of the inner self. The inner self overflows with words that are spoken.
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’ and don’t do what I say? 47 I’ll show what it’s like when someone comes to me, hears my words, and puts them into practice. 48 It’s like a person building a house by digging deep and laying the foundation on bedrock. When the flood came, the rising water smashed against that house, but the water couldn’t shake the house because it was well built. 49 But those who don’t put into practice what they hear are like a person who built a house without a foundation. The floodwater smashed against it and it collapsed instantly. It was completely destroyed.”

Lärjungarna plockar vete på sabbatsdagen
6 En sabbatsdag, när Jesus och hans lärjungar gick genom några sädesfält, ryckte lärjungarna av ax som de gnuggade mellan händerna för att kunna äta vetekornen.
2 Men ett par fariseer som såg det sa: Det där är olagligt! Dina lärjungar rycker av ax. De bryter mot den judiska lagen, eftersom det är förbjudet att skörda på sabbaten.
3 Då svarade Jesus dem: Läser ni inte Skriften? Har ni aldrig hört vad kung David gjorde när han och hans män blev hungriga?
4 Han gick in i templet och tog skådebröden, de speciella bröd som placerats inför Herren, och åt av dem, trots att det var olagligt. Och han delade också med sig till de andra.
5 Och Jesus tillade: Jag är herre till och med över sabbaten.
Jesus botar en man med vanställd hand på sabbatsdagen
6 En annan sabbatsdag undervisade han i synagogan. Då satt en man där med en missbildad högerhand.
7 Laglärarna och fariseerna iakttog Jesus noga för att se om han skulle bota mannen, för de var ivriga att komma på något att anklaga honom för.
8 Men han förstod precis vad de tänkte! Och han sa till mannen med den missbildade handen: Kom och ställ dig här så alla kan se dig. Mannen gjorde som Jesus sa till honom.
9 Sedan vände Jesus sig till fariseerna och laglärarna och sa: Jag vill fråga er något. Vad är rätt att göra på sabbaten, det som är gott eller det som är ont? Att rädda liv eller utsläcka liv?
10 Han såg på dem en efter en och sa sedan till mannen: Sträck fram handen. Och när han gjorde det blev den normal igen.
11 Då blev Jesu fiender rasande och började prata med varandra om hur de skulle kunna röja honom ur vägen.
Jesus väljer ut de tolv apostlarna
12 Några dagar senare gick han upp bland bergen för att be, och han bad hela natten.
13 När det ljusnade kallade han samman sina efterföljare och valde ut tolv av dem till att bli hans lärjungar eller apostlar som han också kallade dem.
14-16 Här är namnen på dem: Simon, som Jesus också kallade Petrus, Andreas, Simons bror, Jakob, Johannes, Filippos, Bartolomaios, Matteus, Tomas, Jakob, Alfaios son, Simon, som också kallades seloten, Judas, Jakobs son och Judas Iskariot, som senare förrådde Jesus.
Verklig lycka
17-18 När Jesus hade kommit ner från bergssluttningen tillsammans med lärjungarna, kom de till en stor slätt. Där hade en stor skara människor samlats, bland dem många av hans efterföljare. Folk från hela Judeen och från Jerusalem och så långt norrifrån som kustområdet vid Tyros och Sidon hade nämligen kommit för att höra honom och för att bli botade. Han drev ut många onda andar,
19 och alla försökte röra vid honom för det gick ut läkande kraft från honom som gjorde alla friska.
20 Sedan vände han sig till sina lärjungar och sa: Lyckliga är ni som är fattiga, för Guds rike tillhör er!
21 Lyckliga är ni som nu är hungriga, för ni ska bli mättade. Lyckliga är ni som gråter, för den tid kommer då ni ska få skratta.
22 Ni kan vara lyckliga när andra hatar er och inte vill veta av er och förolämpar er och svärtar ner era namn därför att ni tillhör mig.
23 Gläd er när det händer! Ja, dansa av glädje, för en stor belöning väntar er i himlen. Och ni kommer att vara i gott sällskap. De gamla profeterna behandlades ju på samma sätt.
24 Men för de rika väntar bedrövelser och sorger, för de har sin enda lycka här på jorden.
25 De är mätta och framgångsrika nu, men en tid av fruktansvärd hunger ligger framför dem. Deras sorglösa skratt i dag kommer att vändas i sorg i morgon.
26 Och tänk vilken bedrövelse som väntar dem som nu är folkets idoler, falska profeter har man ju alltid lovprisat.
Om att älska sina fiender
27 Lyssna allesammans! Älska era fiender. Gör gott mot dem som hatar er.
28 Be om lycka över dem som förbannar er. Kalla ned Guds välsignelse över dem som misshandlar er.
29 Om någon slår dig på den ena kinden, så låt honom slå dig på den andra också! Om någon vill ta din rock, så ge honom skjortan också.
30 Ge vad du har till den som ber om det. Och när man tar något som är ditt, så bekymra dig inte om att få det tillbaka.
31 Behandla andra som du vill att de ska behandla dig.
32 Tror ni att ni förtjänar beröm för att ni älskar dem som älskar er? Till och med de gudlösa gör det.
33 Och om ni bara gör gott mot dem som gör gott mot er, är det så märkvärdigt? Det gör ju syndare också!
34 Och om ni lånar ut pengar bara till dem som kan betala tillbaka, vad är det för värde med det? Även de mest ondskefulla människor lånar till sina vänner mot löfte om full återbetalning.
35 Älska era fiender! Gör gott mot dem. Låna ut till dem. Och oroa er inte för att de inte kommer att betala tillbaka. Då ska er belöning bli stor, och ni handlar verkligen som Guds barn, för han är ju själv god mot dem som är otacksamma och onda.
36 Försök att visa lika mycket medlidande som er Far gör.
Om att kritisera andra
37 Kritisera aldrig, döm aldrig, för ni får igen det. Om ni är beredda att förlåta andra, så kommer ni att få förlåtelse.
38 Och om ni ger, så kommer ni att få. Er gåva kommer att återvända till er i fullt och rågat mått, packat och skakat för att ge plats för mer - och det kommer att flöda över. Det mått ni använder när ni ger - stort eller litet - kommer att användas för att mäta vad som ges åt er.
39 I sin predikan använde Jesus också dessa bilder: Vad är det för mening med att en blind leder en annan blind? Han kommer ju att falla i diket och dra den andre med sig.
40 Och en elev kan knappast veta mer än sin lärare, men om han arbetar hårt kan han bli lika duktig som denne.
41 Och hur kan du med att kritisera en medmänniskas små svagheter, utan att se de enorma problem du själv orsakar andra?
42 Hur vågar du säga till henne: 'Min vän, låt mig visa dig hur du ska göra det där lite bättre
Av frukten känner man trädet
43 En god trädsort bär inte dålig frukt, inte heller bär ett träd av dålig sort god frukt.
44 Man känner igen ett träd på den frukt det bär. Fikon växer aldrig på tistlar, och det växer inte heller vindruvor på törnbuskar!
45 Från en människa med gott hjärta kommer goda gärningar. Men en ond människa gör onda gärningar därför att hennes avsikter är onda. Och hennes ord visar vad hjärtat är fyllt av.
Om att bygga på stadig grund
46 Varför kallar ni mig Herre när ni inte lyder mig?
47-48 Var och en som kommer till mig, lyssnar på mig och lyder mig, liknar en man som bygger ett hus på den fasta berggrunden. När flodvattnet stiger och slår mot huset står det kvar, för det står stadigt.
49 Men den som lyssnar till mig och inte lyder mig, liknar en man som bygger ett hus direkt på marken. När floden vräker sig mot huset faller det ihop och läggs i ruiner.

Teachings on the sabbath
6 One sabbath, Jesus was walking through some cornfields. His disciples were plucking and eating ears of grain, rubbing them with their hands.
2 “Why,” asked some Pharisees, “are you doing something that isn’t permitted on the sabbath?”
3 “Haven’t you read what David did?” replied Jesus. “When he and his men were hungry, 4 he went into God’s house and took the ‘bread of the presence,’ which no one but the priests was allowed to eat. He ate some, and gave it to his companions.
5 “The son of man,” he declared, “is Lord of the sabbath.”
6 On another sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching. A man was there whose right hand was withered. 7 The scribes and Pharisees were watching him, to see if he would heal him on the sabbath, so that they could find an accusation against him.
8 He knew what they were thinking.
“Get up,” he said to the man with the withered hand, “and come out here in the middle.” He got up and came out.
9 “Let me ask you something,” Jesus said to them. “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath or to do evil? To save life or to destroy it?”
10 He looked round at all of them.
“Stretch out your hand,” he said to the man.
He did so; and his hand was restored. 11 But they were filled with rage, and discussed with each other what they might do to Jesus.
The Beatitudes
12 It happened around that time that Jesus went up into the mountain to pray, and he spent all night in prayer to God. 13 When day came, he called his disciples, and chose twelve of them, calling them “apostles”: 14 Simon, whom he called Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called “the hothead,” 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who turned traitor.
17 He went down with them, and took up a position on a level plain where there was a large crowd of his followers, with a huge company of people from all Judaea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They came to hear him, and to be cured from their diseases. Those who were troubled by unclean spirits were healed, 19 and the whole crowd tried to touch him, because power was going out from him and healing everybody.
20 He lifted up his eyes and looked at his disciples, and said:
“Blessings on the poor: God’s kingdom belongs to you!
21 “Blessings on those who are hungry today: you’ll have a feast!
“Blessings on those who weep today: you’ll be laughing!
22 “Blessings on you, when people hate you, and shut you out, when they slander you and reject your name as if it was evil, because of the son of man. 23 Celebrate on that day! Jump for joy! Don’t you see: in heaven there is a great reward for you! That’s what their ancestors did to the prophets.
24 “But woe betide you rich: you’ve had your comfort!
25 “Woe betide you if you’re full today: you’ll go hungry!
“Woe betide you if you’re laughing today: you’ll be mourning and weeping!
26 “Woe betide you when everyone speaks well of you: that’s what their ancestors did to the false prophets.”
Loving your enemies
27 “But this is my word,” Jesus continued, “for those of you who are listening: love your enemies! Do good to people who hate you! 28 Bless people who curse you! Pray for people who treat you badly!
29 “If someone hits you on the cheek—offer him the other one! If someone takes away your coat—don’t stop him taking your shirt! 30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask for things back when people have taken them.
31 “Whatever you want people to do to you, do that to them. 32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Think about it: even sinners love people who love them. 33 Or again, if you do good only to people who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Sinners do that too. 34 If you lend only to people you expect to get things back from, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners to get paid back. 35 No: love your enemies, do good and lend without expecting any return. Your reward will be great! You will be children of the Highest! He is generous, you see, to the stingy and wicked. 36 You must be merciful, just as your father is merciful.
37 “Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Forgive, and you’ll be forgiven. 38 Give, and it will be given to you: a good helping, squashed down, shaken in, and overflowing—that’s what will land in your lap. Yes: the ration you give to others is the ration you’ll get back for yourself.”
Judging others and true obedience
39 Jesus told them this riddle. “What do you get when one blind man guides another? Both of them falling in a ditch! 40 Students can’t do better than the teacher; when the course is done, they’ll all be just like the teacher.
41 “Why look at the speck of dust in your brother’s eye, when you haven’t noticed the plank in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Dear brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you can’t see the plank in your own? You’re a fraud! First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you’ll see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
43 “You see, no good tree bears bad fruit; nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 44 Every tree is known by its fruit. You don’t pick figs from thorns; nor do you get grapes from a briar-bush. 45 The good person brings good things out of the good treasure of the heart; the evil person brings evil things out of evil. What comes out of the mouth is what’s overflowing in the heart.
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do what I say? 47 I’ll show you what people are like when they come to me, and hear my words, and do them. 48 They are like a wise man building a house: he dug, he went down deep, and he laid a foundation on rock. When a flood came, the river burst its banks all over the house, but it couldn’t shake it because it was well built. 49 But when people hear but don’t obey—that’s like a man who built a house on the ground, without a foundation. When the river burst over it, it fell down at once. The ruin of that house was devastating.”
