³魔鬼对祂说：“如果你是上帝的儿子，可以把这块石头变成食物来吃啊。”

⁴耶稣回答说：“圣经上说，‘人活着不是单靠食物。’”

⁵魔鬼又带祂上到高处，顷刻间把天下万国展示给祂看，

³魔鬼对他说：“你若是　神的儿子，就吩咐这块石头变成食物吧！” ⁴耶稣回答：“经上记着：

‘人活着不是单靠食物。’”

⁵魔鬼引他上到高处，霎时间把天下万国指给他看，

³The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God,^(A) tell this stone to become bread.”

⁴Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’^[a]”^(B)

⁵The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world.^(C)

³And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

⁴And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

⁵And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
