14 有些當兵的[a]也問他，說：「那麼我們呢？我們該做什麼呢？」
約翰說：「不要敲詐任何人，也不要勒索人[b]，當以自己的糧餉為滿足。」
15 當時，民眾都在心裡對約翰有期待並猜想，或許他就是基督。

13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,”(A) he told them.
14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?”
He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely(B)—be content with your pay.”
15 The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John(C) might possibly be the Messiah.(D)
