在彼拉多面前受审
23 于是，众人动身把耶稣押到彼拉多那里， 2 指控祂说：“这人蛊惑民心，禁止百姓向凯撒纳税，又说自己是基督，是君王。”
3 彼拉多问耶稣：“你是犹太人的王吗？”
耶稣回答说：“如你所言。”
4 彼拉多转过身来，对祭司长和百姓宣布：“我查不出这人有什么罪。” 5 但他们坚持说：“这个人从加利利开始一直到这里，在犹太地区四处传道，煽动民心。”
6 彼拉多听后，问道：“祂是加利利人吗？” 7 他得知耶稣来自分封王希律的辖区后，便把耶稣送交希律，希律刚巧在耶路撒冷。
在希律面前受辱
8 希律见到耶稣，十分高兴，因为他听过耶稣的事，早就想见祂，希望看祂行神迹。 9 他问了耶稣许多问题，耶稣却一言不发。 10 祭司长和律法教师站在那里极力地指控耶稣。
11 希律和他的卫兵嘲弄侮辱耶稣，给祂穿上华丽的袍子，把祂押回彼拉多那里。 12 希律和彼拉多向来互相敌视，但在那一天竟化敌为友。
无辜被判死罪
13 彼拉多召来祭司长、官长和百姓， 14 对他们说：“你们带这个人来，指控祂煽动百姓造反，我当着你们的面审问了祂，却查不出祂有任何你们指控祂的罪。 15 希律也查不出祂有什么罪，所以把祂送回来了。可见，这人并没有犯什么该死的罪。 16 因此，我要惩戒祂，然后释放祂。” 17 每逢逾越节，总督总是按惯例给他们释放一个囚犯。[a]
18 这时，众人齐声呼喊：“杀掉祂！释放巴拉巴！” 19 巴拉巴是因在城里叛乱杀人而被下在监里的。
20 彼拉多想释放耶稣，便劝解他们。 21 但他们一直喊：“把祂钉在十字架上！把祂钉在十字架上！”
22 彼拉多第三次问百姓：“为什么？祂犯了什么罪？我找不出该处死祂的罪证。因此，我要惩戒祂，然后释放祂。”
23 众人却继续大声喊叫，执意要求把耶稣钉在十字架上。最后，他们的声势占了上风。 24 于是，彼拉多依照他们的要求， 25 释放了叛乱杀人的囚犯巴拉巴，并把耶稣交给他们任意处置。
钉十字架
26 他们带耶稣出去的时候，抓住从乡下来的古利奈人西门，让他背着十字架跟在耶稣后面。
27 有一大群人跟在耶稣后面，其中有不少妇女为耶稣伤心痛哭。 28 耶稣转过身来，对她们说：“耶路撒冷的女儿啊，不要为我哭，为你们自己和你们的儿女哭吧！ 29 因为日子快到了，人们将说，‘不曾生育、不曾怀孕、不曾哺乳的女子有福了！’ 30 到时候，人们会向大山说，‘倒在我们身上吧！’又会对小山说，‘遮盖我们吧！’ 31 树木青葱的时候，他们尚且做这些事，树木枯干的时候，又会怎样呢？[b]”
32 当时有两个罪犯和耶稣一同被押去受刑。 33 他们到了一个叫“髑髅”的地方，便把耶稣钉在十字架上，又将两个罪犯分别钉在祂左右两边。
34 耶稣祷告说：“父啊，赦免他们！因为他们不知道自己在做什么。”士兵抽签分了耶稣的衣裳。
35 百姓站着观看，官长嘲笑耶稣说：“祂救了别人，如果祂是上帝所选立的基督，让祂救自己吧！”
36 士兵们也戏弄祂，拿了些酸酒上前给祂喝， 37 又说：“如果你是犹太人的王，救救自己呀！”
38 耶稣上方有一块牌子，上面写着：“这是犹太人的王”。
39 跟耶稣同钉十字架的一个罪犯也讥笑耶稣，说：“你不是基督吗？救你自己和我们呀！”
40 另一个罪犯却责备他说：“你同样是受刑的，难道不怕上帝吗？ 41 我们是罪有应得，但这个人没有犯过罪。” 42 他随即恳求耶稣：“耶稣啊，当你来执掌王权的时候，请你记得我。”
43 耶稣对他说：“我实在告诉你，今天你要和我一起在乐园里了。”
耶稣之死
44 那时大约是正午，黑暗笼罩着整个大地，一直到下午三点， 45 太阳黯然无光。忽然挂在圣殿里的幔子从中间裂成两半。 46 耶稣大声喊着说：“父啊，我将我的灵魂交在你手中。”说完，就断气了。
47 百夫长见此情形，便赞美上帝，说：“这人的确是个义人。”
48 围观的人见状，无不捶胸顿足黯然离去。 49 耶稣熟识的人和从加利利跟着祂来的妇女们都站在远处观看。
耶稣的安葬
50 有一位名叫约瑟的公会议员心地善良、为人正直， 51 住在犹太地区的亚利马太城，一直在等候上帝国的降临。他并不苟同公会的决定。 52 他去求见彼拉多，要求领取耶稣的遗体。 53 他把耶稣的遗体从十字架上取下来，用细麻布裹好，然后安放在一个从岩壁上凿出的新墓穴里。 54 当天是预备日，安息日快到了。
55 和耶稣一起从加利利来的妇女跟在约瑟后面，看到了耶稣的坟墓，并且看到祂的遗体被安放好之后， 56 便回家去预备香料和膏油。安息日到了，她们按律法的规定休息了一天。

O governador Pilatos interroga Jesus
(Mt 27.1-2,11-14; Mc 15.1-5; Jo 18.28-38)
23 Então, todos se levantaram, levaram Jesus até Pilatos 2 e começaram a acusá-lo, dizendo:
—Encontramos este homem enganando o nosso povo! Ele é contra o pagamento de impostos ao imperador e afirma ser o Cristo, ou seja um rei!
3 Pilatos lhe perguntou:
—Você é o rei do judeus?
Jesus respondeu:
—Você diz que eu o sou e eu não vou negá-lo.
4 Então Pilatos disse aos líderes dos sacerdotes e à multidão:
—Eu não encontro nenhum motivo para condenar este homem!
5 Mas eles insistiram, dizendo:
—Ele está causando desordem entre o povo por toda a Judeia com o seu ensino; ele começou na Galileia e agora chegou até aqui!
6 Ao ouvir isto, Pilatos perguntou se Jesus era da Galileia. 7 Quando soube que Jesus era galileu, e que, portanto, estava sob a jurisdição de Herodes, Pilatos o mandou até ele, pois Herodes estava em Jerusalém naqueles dias.
Jesus e Herodes
8 Herodes ficou muito contente quando viu a Jesus, pois fazia muito tempo que queria vê-lo. Herodes tinha ouvido falar muito dele e esperava que fizesse algum milagre. 9 Herodes fez muitas perguntas a Jesus, mas este não lhe respondeu nada. 10 Os líderes dos sacerdotes e os professores da lei também estavam presentes e o acusavam insistentemente. 11 Herodes e os seus soldados trataram Jesus com desprezo e zombaram dele. Depois, vestiram Jesus com uma capa luxuosa e o mandaram de volta a Pilatos. 12 Pilatos e Herodes, que antes eram inimigos, se tornaram amigos nesse dia.
Jesus é condenado

13 Pilatos reuniu os líderes dos sacerdotes, os líderes dos judeus e o povo, 14 e lhes disse:
—Vocês me trouxeram este homem, acusando-o de estar enganando o povo. Eu o interroguei diante de vocês e não encontrei nenhum motivo para as acusações que vocês têm contra ele.
15 Herodes também não encontrou nenhum motivo para acusá-lo, visto que o devolveu a nós. Como vocês veem, ele não fez nada que mereça a morte. 16 Eu vou mandar castigá-lo com chicotadas e depois vou soltá-lo. 17 [a] 18 Mas todos começaram a gritar ao mesmo tempo:
—Matem esse homem! Solte Barrabás para nós!
19 (Barrabás tinha sido preso por promover uma rebelião na cidade e também por assassinato.) 20 Pilatos queria libertar a Jesus e falou novamente com a multidão, 21 mas eles continuaram a gritar:
—Crucifique-o! Crucifique-o!
22 Pela terceira vez Pilatos lhes disse:
—Mas que crime este homem cometeu? Eu não encontro nele nenhum motivo para condená-lo à morte, portanto vou castigá-lo com chicotadas e depois vou soltá-lo.
23 Mas eles continuaram a gritar para que seu pedido fosse atendido: que Jesus fosse crucificado. Os gritos deles prevaleceram 24 e Pilatos decidiu fazer o que eles queriam. 25 Pilatos soltou o homem que tinha sido preso por arruaça e por assassinato (que era o que eles queriam). E lhes entregou Jesus para fazerem com ele o que queriam fazer.
Jesus é crucificado
(Mt 27.32-44; Mc 15.21-32; Jo 19.17-27)
26 Então os soldados levaram a Jesus. No caminho, encontraram um homem de Cirene, chamado Simão, que vinha do campo. Eles o agarraram, puseram a cruz de Jesus sobre ele e o obrigaram a carregá-la, seguindo atrás de Jesus.
27 Uma grande multidão o seguia, incluindo algumas mulheres que lamentavam e choravam por ele. 28 Jesus se voltou e disse a elas:
—Não chorem por minha causa, filhas de Jerusalém! Chorem, sim, por vocês mesmas e por seus filhos, 29 pois vão chegar os dias em que as pessoas dirão: “Felizes das mulheres estéreis, das que nunca tiveram filhos e também das que nunca amamentaram”. 30 E dirão às montanhas: “Caiam sobre nós!” e aos montes: “Cubram a todos nós!”(A) 31 Pois, se as pessoas fazem estas coisas quando a árvore ainda está verde, o que acontecerá quando a árvore estiver seca?[b]
32 Dois outros homens, ambos criminosos, também estavam sendo levados com ele para serem mortos.
33 Quando chegaram a um lugar chamado “A Caveira”, crucificaram a Jesus e os dois criminosos, um à sua direita e outro à sua esquerda. 34 Então Jesus disse:
—Pai, perdoe-lhes, pois eles não sabem o que fazem.[c]
E os soldados sortearam as roupas de Jesus entre eles. 35 O povo permanecia ali, observando, e os líderes faziam pouco dele, dizendo:
—Já que ele salvou outros, que salve a si mesmo, se é que ele é mesmo o Cristo, o escolhido de Deus!
36 Os soldados também se aproximaram e faziam pouco dele e lhe ofereceram vinagre de vinho. 37 E diziam:
—Salve a si mesmo se você é o Rei dos judeus!
38 Acima dele havia uma inscrição que dizia: Este é o rei dos judeus.
39 Um dos criminosos suspensos na cruz o insultava e dizia:
—Você não é o Cristo? Então salve a si mesmo e a nós!
40 Mas o outro repreendeu o primeiro e disse:
—Você não teme a Deus? Nós estamos debaixo da mesma condenação! 41 A nossa condenação é justa, pois merecemos este castigo por causa do que fizemos. Mas este homem não fez mal nenhum!
42 E depois, disse:
—Jesus, lembre-se de mim quando você entrar no seu reino.
43 E Jesus lhe respondeu:
—Digo-lhe a verdade: Hoje mesmo você estará comigo no Paraíso.
A morte de Jesus
(Mt 27.45-56; Mc 15.33-41; Jo 19.28-30)
44 Era mais ou menos meio-dia quando uma escuridão cobriu toda a terra até às três horas da tarde 45 e, durante esse período, o sol não brilhou. A cortina do templo se rasgou pelo meio 46 e Jesus exclamou em voz alta:
—Pai, em suas mãos eu entrego o meu espírito!(B)
E, depois de dizer isto, ele morreu.
47 Quando o oficial romano viu o que tinha acontecido, louvou a Deus e disse:
—Esse homem era realmente inocente.
48 Quando todas as pessoas que tinham se reunido para o espetáculo viram o que tinha acontecido, foram embora batendo no peito. 49 Todos aqueles que o conheciam ficaram de longe para observar estas coisas. As mulheres que tinham seguido a Jesus desde a Galileia também estavam com eles.
O enterro de Jesus
(Mt 27.57-61; Mc 15.42-47; Jo 19.38-42)
50 Havia um homem bom e justo chamado José. Ele era membro do Conselho Judeu, 51 mas não estava de acordo nem com a decisão deles nem com o que eles tinham feito. Ele era de uma cidade da Judeia chamada Arimateia e estava esperando pelo reino de Deus. 52 Esse homem foi até Pilatos e lhe pediu o corpo de Jesus. 53 Ele o tirou da cruz e o enrolou num lençol de linho. Depois ele o colocou num túmulo cavado numa rocha e que nunca tinha sido usado antes. 54 Tudo isso aconteceu na sexta-feira[d] e estava próximo o sábado. 55 As mulheres que tinham vindo com Jesus da Galileia acompanharam José e viram o túmulo e como o corpo tinha sido colocado ali. 56 Depois foram para casa e prepararam ervas aromáticas e perfumes para o corpo dele. No sábado elas descansaram, em obediência à lei.

23 Then the whole assembly rose and led him off to Pilate.(A) 2 And they began to accuse him, saying, “We have found this man subverting our nation.(B) He opposes payment of taxes to Caesar(C) and claims to be Messiah, a king.”(D)
3 So Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
“You have said so,” Jesus replied.
4 Then Pilate announced to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no basis for a charge against this man.”(E)
5 But they insisted, “He stirs up the people all over Judea by his teaching. He started in Galilee(F) and has come all the way here.”
6 On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.(G) 7 When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod,(H) who was also in Jerusalem at that time.
8 When Herod saw Jesus, he was greatly pleased, because for a long time he had been wanting to see him.(I) From what he had heard about him, he hoped to see him perform a sign of some sort. 9 He plied him with many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.(J) 10 The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there, vehemently accusing him. 11 Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked him. Dressing him in an elegant robe,(K) they sent him back to Pilate. 12 That day Herod and Pilate became friends(L)—before this they had been enemies.
13 Pilate called together the chief priests, the rulers and the people, 14 and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was inciting the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence and have found no basis for your charges against him.(M) 15 Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us; as you can see, he has done nothing to deserve death. 16 Therefore, I will punish him(N) and then release him.” [17] [a]
18 But the whole crowd shouted, “Away with this man! Release Barabbas to us!”(O) 19 (Barabbas had been thrown into prison for an insurrection in the city, and for murder.)
20 Wanting to release Jesus, Pilate appealed to them again. 21 But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!”
22 For the third time he spoke to them: “Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty. Therefore I will have him punished and then release him.”(P)
23 But with loud shouts they insistently demanded that he be crucified, and their shouts prevailed. 24 So Pilate decided to grant their demand. 25 He released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for, and surrendered Jesus to their will.
The Crucifixion of Jesus(Q)
26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene,(R) who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.(S) 27 A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed(T) for him. 28 Jesus turned and said to them, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.(U) 29 For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’(V) 30 Then
31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?”(X)
32 Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.(Y) 33 When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, “Father,(Z) forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”[c](AA) And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.(AB)
35 The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him.(AC) They said, “He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”(AD)
36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him.(AE) They offered him wine vinegar(AF) 37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews,(AG) save yourself.”
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.(AH)
39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”(AI)
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”(AJ)
42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[d]”(AK)
43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”(AL)
The Death of Jesus(AM)
44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,(AN) 45 for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple(AO) was torn in two.(AP) 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice,(AQ) “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”[e](AR) When he had said this, he breathed his last.(AS)
47 The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God(AT) and said, “Surely this was a righteous man.” 48 When all the people who had gathered to witness this sight saw what took place, they beat their breasts(AU) and went away. 49 But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee,(AV) stood at a distance,(AW) watching these things.
The Burial of Jesus(AX)
50 Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and upright man, 51 who had not consented to their decision and action. He came from the Judean town of Arimathea, and he himself was waiting for the kingdom of God.(AY) 52 Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body. 53 Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. 54 It was Preparation Day,(AZ) and the Sabbath was about to begin.
55 The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee(BA) followed Joseph and saw the tomb and how his body was laid in it. 56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes.(BB) But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.(BC)
