3 耶稣回答说:“我也问你们一个问题。你们告诉我, 4 约翰的洗礼是从天上来的还是从人来的?”
5 他们彼此议论说:“如果我们说‘是从天上来的’,祂一定会问,‘那你们为什么不相信他?’ 6 如果我们说‘是从人来的’,百姓会拿石头打死我们,因为他们相信约翰是先知。” 7 于是,他们回答说:“我们不知道约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的。”
8 耶稣说:“我也不告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。”
利欲熏心的佃户
9 接着耶稣对众人讲了个比喻:“有人开垦了一个葡萄园,把园子租给几个佃户,就出远门了。 10 到了收获的季节,他差奴仆去葡萄园向佃户收取他应得的收成,但那些佃户却把奴仆揍了一顿,使他空手而归。 11 园主又派另一个奴仆去,那些佃户照样将他殴打并羞辱一番,使他空手而归。 12 园主又派第三个奴仆去,他们又把他打伤,抛在园外。
13 “园主说,‘我该怎样办呢?不如叫我所疼爱的儿子去吧。他们大概会尊敬他。’
14 “岂料那些佃户看见来人是园主的儿子,便彼此商量说,‘这个人是产业继承人,我们把他杀掉,这葡萄园就归我们了!’ 15 于是他们把园主的儿子拖到葡萄园外杀了。
“那么,园主会怎样处治他们呢? 16 他必来杀掉这些佃户,把葡萄园转租给别人。”
众人听了就说:“但愿这种事永远不会发生!”
17 耶稣定睛看着他们,问道:“那么,圣经上说,
“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石’,
这句话是什么意思呢? 18 凡跌在这石头上的人,将粉身碎骨;这石头落在谁身上,将把谁砸烂。”
纳税问题
19 律法教师和祭司长听出这比喻是针对他们说的,便想立刻下手捉拿耶稣,但又害怕百姓。 20 于是,他们密切地监视耶稣,又派遣密探假装好人,想从祂的话里找把柄抓祂去见总督。

26 耶稣的回答令他们惊奇,他们无法当众找到把柄,只好闭口不言。
论死人复活
27 撒督该人向来不相信有复活的事。有几个这一派的人来问耶稣: 28 “老师,按摩西为我们写的律例,如果有人娶妻后没有孩子就死了,他的兄弟应当娶嫂嫂,替哥哥传宗接代。 29 有弟兄七人,老大结了婚,没有孩子就死了。 30 二弟、 31 三弟、一直到七弟都相继娶了嫂嫂,都没有留下孩子就死了。 32 最后那个女人也死了。 33 那么,到复活的时候,她将是谁的妻子呢?因为七个人都娶过她。”
34 耶稣说:“今世的人才有嫁娶, 35 但那些配得将来的世界、从死里复活的人也不娶也不嫁, 36 就像天使一样永远不会死。他们既然从死里复活,就是上帝的儿女。 37 在记载有关燃烧的荆棘的篇章中,摩西也证实死人会复活,因为他称主是‘亚伯拉罕的上帝,以撒的上帝,雅各的上帝’。 38 上帝不是死人的上帝,而是活人的上帝。因为在祂那里的人都是活人。”

41 耶稣问他们:“人怎么说基督是大卫的后裔呢? 42 大卫曾在诗篇里说,

Jesus’ Authority Challenged
20 And it happened that on one of the days while[a] he was teaching the people in the temple courts[b] and proclaiming the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes approached together with the elders 2 and said, saying to him, “Tell us, by what authority you are doing these things, or who is the one who gave you this authority? 3 And he answered and[c] said to them, “I also will ask you a question, and you tell me: 4 The baptism of John—was it from heaven or from men? 5 And they discussed this[d] with one another, saying, “If we say ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us to death, because they are convinced that John was a prophet.” 7 And they replied that they did not know where it was from. 8 And Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
The Parable of the Tenant Farmers in the Vineyard
9 And he began to tell the people this parable: “A man[e] planted a vineyard, and leased it to tenant farmers, and went on a journey for a long time. 10 And at the proper time he sent a slave to the tenant farmers, so that they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenant farmers sent him away empty-handed after[f] beating him.[g] 11 And he proceeded to send another slave, but they beat and dishonored that one also, and[h] sent him[i] away empty-handed. 12 And he proceeded to send a third, but they wounded and[j] threw out this one also. 13 So the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What should I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’ 14 But when[k] the tenant farmers saw him, they began to reason[l] with one another, saying, ‘This is the heir. Let us kill him so that the inheritance will become ours!’ 15 And they threw him out of the vineyard and[m] killed him.[n] What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those tenant farmers and give the vineyard to others.” And when they[o] heard this,[p] they said, “May this never happen!” 17 But he looked intently at them and[q] said, “What then is this that is written:
‘The stone which the builders rejected,
this has become the cornerstone.’[r]
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls—it will crush him!” 19 And the scribes and the chief priests sought to lay their[s] hands on him at that same hour, and they were afraid of the people, for they knew that he had told this parable with reference to them.
Paying Taxes to Caesar
20 And they watched him[t] closely and[u] sent spies who pretended they were upright, in order that they could catch him in a statement, so that they could hand him over to the authority and the jurisdiction of the governor. 21 And they asked him, saying, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and do not show partiality,[v] but teach the way of God in truth. 22 Is it permitted for us to pay taxes[w] to Caesar or not?” 23 But seeing through their craftiness, he said to them, 24 “Show me a denarius! Whose image and inscription does it have?” And they answered and[x] said,[y] “Caesar’s.” 25 So he said to them, “Well then, give to Caesar the things of Caesar, and to God the things of God!” 26 And they were not able to catch him[z][aa] in a statement in the sight of the people, and astonished at his answer, they became silent.
A Question About Marriage and the Resurrection
27 Now some of the Sadducees—who deny that there is a resurrection[ab]—came up and[ac] asked him, 28 saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us if someone’s brother dies having a wife, and this man is childless, that his brother should take the wife and father[ad] descendants for his brother. 29 Now there were seven brothers, and the first took a wife and[ae] died childless, 30 and the second, 31 and the third took her, and likewise also the seven did not leave children and died. 32 Finally the woman also died. 33 Therefore in the resurrection, the woman—whose wife will she be? For the seven had her as wife.” 34 And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, 36 for they are not even able to die any longer, because they are like the angels and are sons of God, because they[af] are sons of the resurrection. 37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses revealed in the passage about[ag] the bush, when he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. 38 Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him!” 39 And some of the scribes answered and[ah] said, “Teacher, you have spoken well.” 40 For they no longer dared to ask him anything.
David’s Son and Lord
41 But he said to them, “In what sense do they say that the Christ is David’s son? 42 For David himself says in the book of Psalms,
‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’[ai]
44 David therefore calls him ‘Lord,’ and how is he his son?”
Warning to Beware of the Scribes
45 And while[aj] all the people were listening, he said to the disciples,[ak] 46 “Beware of the scribes, who like walking around in long robes and who love greetings in the marketplaces and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets, 47 who devour the houses of widows and pray lengthy prayers for the sake of appearance. These will receive more severe condemnation!”

New International Version
The Authority of Jesus Questioned(A)
20 One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts(B) and proclaiming the good news,(C) the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him. 2 “Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said. “Who gave you this authority?”(D)
3 He replied, “I will also ask you a question. Tell me: 4 John’s baptism(E)—was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
5 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people(F) will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”(G)
7 So they answered, “We don’t know where it was from.”
8 Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
The Parable of the Tenants(H)
9 He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard,(I) rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.(J) 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.
13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love;(K) perhaps they will respect him.’
14 “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
“What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenants(L) and give the vineyard to others.”
When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”
17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”(N)
19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him(O) immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.(P)
Paying Taxes to Caesar(Q)
20 Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said,(R) so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.(S) 21 So the spies questioned him: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.(T) 22 Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
23 He saw through their duplicity and said to them, 24 “Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
25 He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(U) and to God what is God’s.”
26 They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.
The Resurrection and Marriage(V)
27 Some of the Sadducees,(W) who say there is no resurrection,(X) came to Jesus with a question. 28 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(Y) 29 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30 The second 31 and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. 32 Finally, the woman died too. 33 Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come(Z) and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children,(AA) since they are children of the resurrection. 37 But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’[b](AB) 38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” 40 And no one dared to ask him any more questions.(AC)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(AD)
41 Then Jesus said to them, “Why is it said that the Messiah is the son of David?(AE) 42 David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’[c](AF)
44 David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
45 While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(AG) 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

— Yo también voy a preguntarles una cosa. Díganme, 4 ¿de quién recibió Juan el encargo de bautizar: de Dios o de los hombres?
5 Ellos se pusieron a razonar entre sí: “Si contestamos que lo recibió de Dios, él dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creyeron? 6 Y si decimos que lo recibió de los hombres, el pueblo en masa nos apedreará, porque todos están convencidos de que Juan era un profeta”. 7 Así que respondieron:
— No sabemos de dónde.
8 Entonces Jesús les replicó:
— Pues tampoco yo les diré con qué derecho hago todo esto.
Parábola de los labradores criminales (Mt 21,33-46; Mc 12,1-12)
9 Jesús se dirigió luego a la gente del pueblo y les contó esta parábola:
— Una vez, un hombre plantó una viña, la arrendó a unos labradores y emprendió un largo viaje. 10 En el tiempo oportuno envió un criado a los labradores para que le entregaran la parte correspondiente del fruto de la viña. Pero los labradores lo golpearon y lo mandaron de vuelta con las manos vacías. 11 Volvió a enviarles otro criado, y ellos, después de golpearlo y llenarlo de injurias, lo despidieron también sin nada. 12 Todavía les envió un tercer criado, y también a este lo maltrataron y lo echaron de allí. 13 Entonces el amo de la viña se dijo: “¿Qué más puedo hacer? Les enviaré a mi hijo, a mi hijo querido. Seguramente a él lo respetarán”. 14 Pero cuando los labradores lo vieron llegar, se dijeron unos a otros: “Este es el heredero. Matémoslo para que sea nuestra la herencia”. 15 Y, arrojándolo fuera de la viña, lo asesinaron. ¿Qué hará, pues, con ellos el amo de la viña? 16 Llegará, hará perecer a esos labradores y dará la viña a otros.
Los que escuchaban a Jesús dijeron:
— ¡Quiera Dios que eso no suceda!
17 Pero Jesús, mirándolos fijamente, dijo:
— ¿Pues qué significa esto que dice la Escritura:
La piedra que desecharon los constructores
se ha convertido en la piedra principal?
18 Todo el que caiga sobre esa piedra, se estrellará, y a quien la piedra le caiga encima, lo aplastará.
19 Los maestros de la ley y los jefes de los sacerdotes comprendieron que Jesús se había referido a ellos con esta parábola. Por eso trataron de echarle mano en aquel mismo momento; pero tenían miedo del pueblo.
La cuestión del tributo al emperador (Mt 22,15-22; Mc 12,13-17)
20 Así que, siempre al acecho, enviaron unos espías que, bajo la apariencia de gente de bien, pillaran a Jesús en alguna palabra inconveniente que les diera la ocasión de entregarlo al poder y a la autoridad del gobernador romano. 21 Le preguntaron, pues:
— Maestro, sabemos que todo lo que dices y enseñas es correcto y que no juzgas a nadie por las apariencias, sino que enseñas con toda verdad a vivir como Dios quiere. 22 Así pues, ¿estamos o no estamos nosotros, los judíos, obligados a pagar tributo al emperador romano?
23 Jesús, dándose cuenta de la mala intención que había en ellos, les contestó:
24 — Muéstrenme un denario. ¿De quién es esta efigie y esta inscripción?
25 Le contestaron:
— Del emperador.
Entonces Jesús dijo:
— Pues den al emperador lo que es del emperador, y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
26 Y no consiguieron pillar a Jesús en palabra alguna inconveniente delante del pueblo. Al contrario, estupefactos ante la respuesta de Jesús, tuvieron que callarse.
La cuestión de la resurrección (Mt 22,23-33; Mc 12,18-27)
27 Después de esto se acercaron a Jesús algunos saduceos que, como niegan que vaya a haber resurrección, le hicieron esta pregunta:
28 — Maestro, Moisés nos dejó escrito que si el hermano de uno muere teniendo esposa, pero no hijos, el siguiente hermano deberá casarse con la viuda para dar descendencia al hermano difunto. 29 Pues bien, hubo una vez siete hermanos; el primero de ellos se casó, pero murió sin haber tenido hijos. 30 El segundo 31 y el tercero se casaron también con la viuda, y así hasta los siete; pero los siete murieron sin haber tenido hijos. 32 La última en morir fue la mujer. 33 Así pues, en la resurrección, ¿de cuál de ellos será esposa, si los siete estuvieron casados con ella?
34 Jesús les dijo:
— El matrimonio es algo que pertenece a este mundo. 35 Pero los que merezcan resucitar y entrar en el reino venidero, ya no tendrán nada que ver con el matrimonio, 36 como tampoco tendrán nada que ver con la muerte, porque serán como ángeles; serán hijos de Dios, porque habrán resucitado. 37 En cuanto a que los muertos han de resucitar, hasta Moisés lo indica en el pasaje de la zarza, cuando invoca como Señor al Dios de Abrahán, de Isaac y de Jacob; 38 porque Dios es un Dios de vivos y no de muertos, ya que para él todos viven.
39 Algunos maestros de la ley dijeron a Jesús:
— Maestro, tienes razón.
40 Y ya nadie se atrevía a hacerle más preguntas.
¿De quién es hijo el Mesías? (Mt 22,41-46; Mc 12,35-37)
41 Por su parte, Jesús les preguntó:
— ¿Cómo es que dicen que el Mesías es hijo de David? 42 El propio David escribe en el libro de los Salmos:
Dijo el Señor a mi Señor:
“Siéntate a mi derecha
43 hasta que yo ponga a tus enemigos
por estrado de tus pies”.
44 Pues si el propio David llama “Señor” al Mesías, ¿cómo puede ser el Mesías hijo suyo?
Denuncia contra los maestros de la ley (Mt 23,6-7; Mc 12,38-40)
45 Delante de todo el pueblo que estaba escuchando, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos:
46 — Cuídense de esos maestros de la ley a quienes agrada pasear vestidos con ropaje suntuoso, ser saludados en público y ocupar los lugares preferentes en las sinagogas y los primeros puestos en los banquetes. 47 ¡Esos que devoran las haciendas de las viudas y, para disimular, pronuncian largas oraciones recibirán el más severo castigo!
